Hi all, my refurbished tab suddenly decided to stop charging, so I'm looking to see where I can get spare parts for it? Either the battery, the charger, and/or the AC-in port are bad. I already contacted the vendor, and it's still in the 90 day period... but I wanted to have a back up plan.
For argument's sake, The original charger seems dead, I connect it and nothing. I have a car charger, plugged into a DC-AC adapter that starts to charge it briefly, but then it starts acting crazy (it rapidly changes from charging to not charging). I think the AC port might be messed up since there's a faint smell of burned circuits when I sniff the little "port" (was going to use hole )
The tab does turn on, and if I leave it connected to the DC charger it should eventually charge (it charged about 3% with the tab off in about 4 hours).
Ideally I will get a positive response from the vendor (only reason I haven't opened the tab up), but as I said, I rather have a backup plan.
I'm sorry but did you say you kept charging it even after sniffing its (I'll do it) hole and smelling burning? I hope I Mis understood that part. However to offer some kind of help, do you smell anything using the stock charger, and have you wiggled it at all to see if it picks up? Also I would check that other adapter output, 12v and 1.5a iirc. Lower may account for the switching of charging and not, also slow charging. To high may be the smell and you toasting your tablet.

Yes I did try to charge it after I smelled the burning. I only noticed that the tab wasn't charging when I heard it whine about low battery even though it was still connected. I then tried plugging it in, and out multiple times and wiggling the connector about to see if it would make proper contact. By the time I got around to sniffing stuff, if something were going to happen I'm sure it would have happened, but just in case I haven't pushed the issue with the stock charger, though it's pretty clear it's as dead as a sexually active teenager in a Friday the 13th movie.
I'm actually tempted to buy a replacement charger if I find one around locally; I'm not going to order it online and wait for "X" amount of days.
In any case, I got enough of a charge to restore it to stock ICS, no unlocked bootloader, no root.... *SIGH* these things are really NOT fun in their stock state.
OK...one last thing to check....the charger has 2 parts on the wall plug side. There's a tab you push down and the blades slide off, under that on the plug side will be 2 metal tabs, check those. I don't know if you had to put that on when you got it, but its something worth checking out. Maybe lightly pull the tabs up, don't get crazy just a little, slide the blades back on and give it a shot.
I would suggest checking the middle pin, however it takes a charge from the other charger you tried, so I doubt that's it, but maybe something worth checking anyways.
I know this isn't the point of the thread, but why replace if its a simple fix?

If you smelt a burnt smell coming from the tablet power port i would not recommend using it and replace it. The charger port is available on ebay as i was searching for other things for this tablet.
Well tried to inspect the charger... the thing looks brand new (well it is only a month old) pins are fine, and the contacts look fine as well. Believe me whenever possible I try to fix things more because I just like tinkering with stuff than anything else, but what I was thinking is that while I'm messing around with that I won't be able to use the tab. I will admit that messing around with power sources/adapters/etc isn't my strong suit... but that makes it even more exciting LOL!
dslayer83, I guess my searching skills have been found wanting. Before posting anything I did some searches but could not find anything through google, or ebay. Just about the only thing I found was the vache's thread where he uploaded the service manual, which has a slew of part #s, but sadly google searches for the parts that interest me don't turn up much.
In any case, I was contacted by the seller today asking if I wanted a refund or a replacement, so maybe I won't have to resort to plan"B". Still curious as to what the hell happened that made the tab go crazy, this is the first time I've had what appear to be hardware related issues with any of my electronics (coming from somebody who owned and abused a 3rd revision PS2, that's quite the statement), so it's all so new. Oh well, guess I'll ignore my curiosity this one time.

I would exchange it for sure. Or return, up to you. Aside from battery life and learning to use the screen around that 1 horrid angle, this tab has been amazing, coming.from a nook color to nook tab to kindle fire to a100. For 7" I'm not sure anything comes close for the money.
As for what happened, its hard to say. Could be something stuck in the port burned off, the charger wasn't regulating properly before it died, any number of things. The tab seems alright aside from hole sniffing and charging...anyways if you plan to exchange, make sure you get a new charger too.

Ditto on the return or exchange. Why tempt to repair something that can be replaced. I love my a100 and its the first tablet ive owned and only paid $80 for it. I know i got my money worth out of it already.
pio_masaki, you like this tab more than the Nook Tablet? I don't particularly like the design, but I thought the NT would be the better tablet... then again that just might be because I'm not a die hard Nvidia fan. I know I definitely like it better than the Kindle Fire since I've dealt with those (no SDCARD?... who came up with that?) I do agree though, that for what I paid nothing comes remotely close... though I paid $100 more than dslayer83 (lucky bastard).
Anyways, yeah I'm going for the exchange. If the seller was going to start giving me too much grief I was ready to repair it myself, but they seem to be complying so maybe there will be no need.
It doesn't really have anything to do with me liking nvidia, actually I don't care for nvidia for a few reasons, however the performance and price can't be beat. The nook tablet is just a bootloader locked color with dual core, imo not worth its price. The a100 is a true tablet, cameras, GPS, etc for the same price new.vs new last I looked. Plus now that ics dropped the sources will propel the a100 way beyond the others for performance and rom/kernel deving.
When I had the NT they could only root the stock, no cwm or custom roms available, it may be different now,but for me and what I want from my devices the a100 couldn't be beat. The fire would be second for me, my mom uses it now and it runs fine on ics for the most part.

Sorry didn't mean to imply you where an nvidia fan, just that I don't really like them and usually go out of my way to evade them, whenever possible. That said, I just think the Ti chips on the NT and the Fire is better than the Tegra2, plus I hear wonders about the NT screen which I will say is the one area that the A100 didn't really feel great (despite me saying that the Ti chips are better I'm in no way complaining about this tabs power, not by a long shot). It looks super indoors but outdoors it's closed to impossible to read; still that's not a biggie.
Tomorrow I'm sending it back to get replaced, so fingers crossed I get a replacement by the end of next week, or sooner
On a side note, last I checked the NT had CWM, CM9 and the whole thing, though CM9 didn't seem like it wasn't at the daily driver level. I think devs were concentrating on porting the 3.0 kernel to it. I was really interested in getting one, but due to it's shape it wasn't a good fit with what I needed.
I completely agree on the nvidia thing, I have quite a beef about their drivers, also a laptop that has burned out 3 $600 replacement video cards, the last took the motherboard with it. That aside, for my money the t2 offered the performance I wanted vs price and.development at the time. I'm glad they cracked.open the NT, its going to be a very tough unit to beat once 3.0 gets going on it.
Im pro TI by far, and my next phone will likely be one sporting their hardware, or rather anything not tegra like my g2x. The a100 certainly fails screen wise, and if I decide to move from my Acer the NT is definitely on the list again.
Back on topic I'm glad to hear the seller is stepping up and handling business in a professional manner, so many stories about sellers flaking on their products makes hearing of a good one kind of rare. If you don't mind, who did you go through? It may help others looking for a good deal and a seller they can trust will do the right thing.

Heh, well i work in a cellphone repair shop and we buy and sell as well. I see plenty of knock offs come through the door but this puppy was well worth the buy. Im enjoying exploring what all i can do with it. Already using my Infuse wireless hotspot for its internet when im not around wifi. Might just get a car mount and use it for long trips for gps instead of tying up my phone.

I'm also hoping to get a phone using TI hardware in the future, but since I'll probably be going to republic wireless in a few months my options will be limited... *SIGH* In the mean time I'm probably buying a pandaboard at some point, though I'm not even sure for exactly what yet. I'd use it for an htpc, but I'm going to use a Raspberry Pi I'm supposed to be getting in June to run XBMC, maybe I'll just shove the pandaboard, instead of the a100, in the car, so many plans, so little money to do them all LOL!
Anyways, the seller is 1saleaday down side it's not a constant stock thing, they'll have deals for well... 1 day. A lot of the times their electronics are refurbished, but despite that everything that I've ordered has come to me looking not "like" new, but brand spanking new. This tablet in particular was refurbished by Acer themselves according to a little label... and while it did crap out, I'm perfectly aware that "sh*t happens". On the topic of shiesty sellers, my attitude until I heard from them should indicate what I think about most stores and their services, but glad to be pleasantly surprised this time.

I'm considering a rpi for the bedroom, but the living room has an atv1 with Ubuntu and a crystal decoder for HD playback and the other bedroom an atv2 both running xbmc, been running since my dash on my Xbox lol. Glad to meet another user. Now if only I could get xbmc for my tablets....

My verizon gnex usb charging port was acting wonky for a bit, so I had to angle the cord a certain way for the phone to charge. I saw the thread on here (via lifehacker I think) that said to bend the "tab" thing that can be seen inside the port upwards. That actually helped and the phone was charging fine for a week or so. Then a few days ago it just totally went kaputt and wont charge at all.
I called verizon and they wont help at all since my 1 year manufacturers warranty was up in december. And their customer service is really just a sales team as their first suggestion was to buy a new battery and "try" that, then they suggested I buy one of their used samsung galaxy stellar (Never even heard of it!) for $250.
So does anybody have any suggestions on how I could repair/replace the port myself, or get verizon or samsung to fix it?

Edit: do they make a 3 pin charger? How bout an external battery charger?
You can buy a charging port off eBay. I bought one there for $16 with free shipping. Had to come from China, but I had mine in less than a week. Directions for procedure can be found on ifixit.

Thanks, I just found that ifixit article in the meantime. There are no reassembly instructions though which turned me off. I consider myself pretty capable at following instructions but dont have much experience in electronics. How difficult was it for you?
I was able to get mine working again, so I haven't actually replaced mine yet. I used a needle and cleaned all around the charging port, and also gently scratched pins with needle. Would recommend pulling battery if you should try this. It has been about a month and so far no more problems for me.
I have had the phone apart a few times and it doesn't look too bad though.
My USB port has been bad for at least six months. I tried fixing it and ended up shorting something inside the phone. Even the 3 prongs won't charge my phone. Says it is charging but battery won't charge. My solution. Bought two extra batteries and external charger. Love it. Battery dies and just throw in a new one and instantly at 100 percent. You could find a cell phone repair place and they can change the port. No soldering needed on this phone. Just make sure they order the vzw port and not the GSM. They are not the same.

So far this solution has worked for me. I pulled my battery and gently scratched the top of the pins. The phone now charges like it is supposed to. The port must get I build up of gunk in there.

I am making this post so it is more broadly seen by people who have a specific hardware issue.
This solution is for issues specifically with the board being fried or more likely broken solder connection. I found this solution while browsing Chinese Custom Rom threads and apparently it works.
Absolutely it's better to pay a professional reball the broken solder connection.
There is a do it yourself/cheap method that definitely does not involve using an Oven.

I wouldn't bother trying this possible solution unless you are 100% sure that you have broken solder connections. Just because your phone doesnt turn on doesn't mean its the chips. It much more likely that your issue is just the battery.
Also just so you know when the board is fried the phone will still turn on, and will boot to fastboot but not recovery, qfil works but does nothing and if you boot to fastboot and leave it on the fastboot screen the screen will turn to static. At least this is what happens with the majority of chip death issues. However there was one case that I know of on a friends X722 which could not go to fastboot, and that issue ended up being a fried GPU, which this possible fix may resolve.
If you are only getting a black screen leave the phone plugged in overnight ( preferably with a different cable) , After knowing that the phone was charged for long enough what happened? Did the phone get warm at all? Does the phone vibrate?
If the phone does vibrate, try using the QPST method, it's the 2nd post on the Unbricking thread mentioned above in the OP.
Another possible cause of your issue is static, they only way to test and possibly resolved is to unplug the battery from the board and plug back in again. Should you attempt trying this, only use a heat gun to melt the glue holding the screen on...there is alot and a hair dryer will not work, without damaging your LCD.
If I had your issue, I would order a battery and LCD, and swap the battery, there is a good chance it will work. If not you can move on to more drastic solutions such as the one mentioned in the OP. Worse case scenario, you will be out the cost of the battery which is about $7 and LCD which is about $15

I guess it's certain now that I have some harware issue, most probably if GPU is separated from the CPU.

I don't know if it's just me who is unlucky but I have lost yet another USB board. This time the one you sent me burnt up as I connected it to my PC. I don't think it's a cable issue because I was using a high quality USB cable from BASEUS. How could it be that I'm not seeing more complaints like mine?
This time I think it could have been caused by dirt in the port because I'd just returned from my rural area and there I did a lot of work involving dirt. Also, there was a slight shower that got me on my way back and I keep the phone in the pocket with the USB port exposed and looking up. My patience with this phone has just about run out now. This is the worst investment I've ever made on a phone :crying:

Wow, sorry to hear that. I think that those LeEco phones are hit or miss. But it really doesn't seem that they were made to last more that a couple of years. I have fried the usb card myself, when I bought very first leeco, its too easy to fry those cards, and in retrospect the Leeco charge is too powerful. The remaining Leeco that I have left charges much better ( stays cooler) when using my Xiaomi Charger.
I agree that you have had some really bad luck. I would not put any more money into it. you are better off buying a cheap Xiaomi...even a used one. You can find some good deals on Amazon and Swappa. Amazon also has refurbished Samsung phones, and they are highly reliable.

It has an Amoled Screen and comes with Android One with zero bloatware. You basically get a custom rom experience with a stock phone. To make matters better Android 10 will be released for the A3 in January. The camera, is light years better than the Le Pro 3 and the processor is honestly fast enough, for most of us. No doubt, its more expensive than just getting another card. But saving yourself from the hassles of these constant issues will make it worthwhile. The only drawback is the screen is 720 instead of 1080. But I swear, if you place in side by side with my Mi8, most people would never guess, that the resolution is a little less. Because it's still an amoled screen.

I've learned that quick charge is dangerous. I'm using now an usb meter that doesn't let an output beyond 1.4amps to charge my phone now, it charges pretty quickly in fact and my phone doesn't get hot now (even that I live in a hot area)

Yeah. The current pushed by the stock leeco charger is either too high (doubtful) or the charging system of the pro 3 isn't designed to handle quick charge 3 very well (most likely). I have used my stock leeco charger to charge my brother's Nokia 8 (Q.C. 3) and it gets just a little warm even with a case on. Also, the leeco charger is Quick Charge 3 certified so they must have made it according to Qualcomm standards.
I think it's the quality of the parts on the phone itself that are substandard. Since this USB board was sent to me by @tsongming and he had used it quite a while, I believe it could have been perfectly fine. My suspicion is that something else could be wrong with my phone like the USB flex cable. The kind of burning I saw must have been caused by power from the battery because the USB 2.0 port I was connecting to on my PC can only provide 2.5 amps maximum. This is not enough in my opinion to completely melt the usb-c receptacle on the phone. (It's very badly burnt). I will just have to charge the battery externally until I figure out whether it's worth investing any more money into this phone.

My X722 died because I just plugged in the cable to charge. Although I have to admit that the phone socket was not in optimal conditions because I used a crappy cable, so the last one I was using was charging fine but it had to enter in an specific position in order to quick charge to function. It's probably the charger IC that is damaged, but I haven't had the money to send it to repair.
As far as I know, the motherboards just provide 0.5amp unless you are using an special port that can provide more power.
In my opinion 2.5amp at 5v is not that good either, because it's pushing the limit of most phones at 5v.
I am guessing that buying the original $30 USB board from AliExpress won't buy me much time because they have all been used before. Almost every spare part of this phone is not brand new (except for batteries and screens, I guess).
I think it's time to cut my losses. My pro 3 not only needs a new USB board but also a battery and another high quality USB cable. I might buy all of that for $60 only to have the USB port burn again. It doesn't make any sense to keep pouring money into this phone.

What ? $30 usd ? I've seen it in $2.5 for 2 boards, well, not original of course.
You just need to check that it has the extra IC, because there are ones that doesn't has it... although I don't remember what was for that IC, but you can easy see it that some boards just are missing a chip.
As for the cable, I'm using some EFFE cables (EFFE is the brand) and they are working wonderfully, I bought 3 for $7 usd, they plug in fine and stay in too, they were recommended to me by a friend and I'm very happy with them. They even stop giving charge to my dead phone because they detect somehow that there is a short, well, at least that is what my usb meter tells me, although I don't know how do they manage to do that, I don't really think they have an IC in them.

For the record the board that I sent you came from a brand new, LePro 3 not opened bought in the spring 2018. However, I assume that it was made after Leecos public fall. I would guess that it was assembled with C grade parts, because my remaining, working LePro 3 is one of our first Leecos bought in 2016. It's also interesting to note that our 2 remaining X522s are both functioning just fine.
As you said could be the flex cables or just a shoddy soldering job that eventually shortened out the board.
Have you tested the board to be sure that it's not the port itself that is bad?
Another interesting thing to note is that Qualcomm removed Leeco from it's list of approved quick charge device list.
One last reason on why I feel that the charger itself may be part of the problem is that I have a 12 watt portable charger and the Leecos do not get hot at all when using it.
I threw my Leeco charging bricks in the trash after my daughter plugged in my Mi8 for me while I was cooking dinner. Not knowing that I had a preference, she used the Leeco charger.
Later when I checked the phone to see if it was finished charging, I found it was extremely hot, and this phone is rated for QC 4.0. So rather than taking any chances into the trash it went.

Wow!! Leeco really must have used grade c parts. I haven't mistreated that board even once since you sent it. That means it only lasted three months! It is just unbelievably negligent for leeco to use these parts. They must have been from the reject pile.
I don't need to test the board because the USB-C receptacle on the phone is completely melted. Connecting a charging cable seems to cause it to heat up fast and start smoking. It might have been a short on the connector that caused it to burn up. I think the quality of the protruding part with the pin connectors is just poor and repeated use loosens the pins which eventually touch.
I'm done with leeco for good now. I was thinking about fixing the phone to sell but that now seems like a lost cause. I'll keep it until it's dead and then take a hammer to it. Even selling it for spare parts might be a loss for me so I'm stuck with it.

I am sure that they used low quality parts on those last batches of phone, I heard via a friend who lives in Shenzhen that they hired a 3rd party to assemble the final phones... The ones that came with 32gb drives, no nfc or quick charge etc. It sucks because they had so much potential.

This puppy is not out yet. I figure it's got one last hurrah before I throw in the towel. I've been shopping around for a phone with similar performance for around the same price but from the current generation of phones and I've not come across anything else. At least not in the same price range. Performance is very important to me and I just can't take a downgrade. I guess I'm stuck with it for a while.

Its good that it's still working for now. Unfortunately you probably only have 4 to 6 weeks before it stops working completely. I was thinking about you situation and made the list below of additional options/good deals.
The Snapdragon 665 has similar performance to the Snapdragon 821 and the Note 8, (the version with the SD665) can be had for under $200 : https://www.amazon.com/Xiaomi-Displ...keywords=Snapdragon+665&qid=1573874157&sr=8-2

It's definitely my most favorite phone that I have owned and I know that you care about the camera a lot. I can promise that the Mi 8 has one hell of a great camera, and stock camera, is absolutely fantastic, especially with video. In fact, I prefer it for video over the latest Pixel 7.XXX Camera and yes it does Astrophotography.
As I mentioned before the A3, is much better than you would ever expect and you can find them for $150.
If budget is a primary concern: It is definitely worth looking at among the best new phones for the money. Plus the bootloader is easily unlocked with no waiting period. if you want a new phone for around $150. I honestly can't think of a better phone, and as I mentioned my daughter has this phone, so I have actually used it, and I am telling you, it's damn good.
Another option is buying a used 128GB Pixel refurbished $120
I have seen them for as low as $75, or you could buy a One Plus 3T
Edit: I just now found this phone and although it has a mediatek processor, its brand new , has Android 9.0 , 4gb ram, 64 gb hd space and it's just a little over $100 UMIDIGI Power This may be the one, if you can deal with processor but there's a lot of people who say that this phone is great, I dont know if you can use roms, but I have heard that it doesn't have bloatware, so it be a smart buy. Edit : The $118 price is a lightning deal, and the price will go backup to $139 by the time you read this. In that case, I would personally avoid it, but I am am a little biased against mediatek for reasons. Mostly heat and poor battery life.

Tony, you're among very few people I know who are invaluable to communities like these. I'm always impressed by how easily you go out of your way to help community members at XDA. Thank you so much for always being helpful even when you don't have to be. If I had the means I would buy you several cases of beer (or whatever non-alcoholic beverage you like) just to say how much I appreciate you. But for now I can just say THANK YOU!! Out of all the options you gave me just now and a few days ago, the brand new Mi A3 is the best option by far. Refurbished is a no-go and yes, I hate Mediatek too. Been there, done that, but once you've got a taste of Qualcomm, there's simply no going back. I'm inclined to go for the A3 because of its AMOLED screen, UFS 2.1, decent camera, and, most importantly, it's price-performance ratio. It doesn't beat the A2 in performance but it more than makes up for it in the additional features.
I am going to keep the pro 3 as long as I can to see if prices drop even more (I'm all about the value). It's only my charging port that's gone so I'm taking out the battery and charging it externally for as long as I can. Everything else works normally. I'm also on my last ROM for this phone -- I can't flash another one because I changed to TWRP 3.2.1 which doesn't see my internal storage anymore (encryption).

Sorry I hadn't seen this post. The cheaper boards tagged as "copy" boards don't have working quick charge or ability to connect to pc for mtp file transfer. They're only good for slow charging and sometimes even that is hit or miss. The boards that cost between $25 and $30 are original leeco boards. Probably not brand new but original. They have all features of the original like quick charge, mtp, otg, cdla and everything else the new phone could do. I wouldn't even consider going close to the cheaper "copy" boards.
I had a single 50 cm baseus USB cable that i bought for around $4 and it was of very good quality. It even supported usb PD and it was built like a tank. Just holding it gives you confidence that it's gonna last a while. Even the board getting fried didn't damage the cable but I'm not using it again. The power pin on the usb cable changed from gold to just plain silver so it must have taken some damage. I would buy a new one to be safe.
I'm done repairing this phone for good. It's not worth the expense and there's too much uncertainty involved even after it's fixed. I could fix it and have it die barely a month later. That would be $50 down the drain. I'm not going through that again.

It seems this phone is on its last leg now. Since yesterday the proximity sensor doesn't work. I think it must be all this opening and closing up of the metal shield to remove the battery. Also, the earpiece speaker only works in loudspeaker mode now. It doesn't work in calls. I think I might have an audio related software issue because sound isn't playing even if I play a music or video file. I have flashed another ROM but this behavior remains. Could this require me to flash persist?
Edit: The earpiece and proximity sensor are acting up because of the damaged USB board. Both work well when I use an app that tests hardware features. They are failing to work for phone calls and video playback because the phone is detecting that I have earphones plugged in. I figured this out when I reflashed a new PIE ROM and saw the headphone icon is always displayed on the status bar even without anything connected to the port. I guess the board getting fried messed up with jack detection.

I use the one plus 3t now for a while as my daily driver, unfortunately with time goes wear on the device. The battery is in poor condition, the charging cable does very easily slip out of the charging port and some things in the navbar has burned into the OLED display (The display thingy is not as important as the rest, so I may keep it, if it is expensive to fix). Is it possible to fix it myself or do I have an expert to repair this stuff (I have never done something like this)? It is still a fast phone with more than enough ram, so I do not want to throw it away. How much would a repair cost for me? I am looking for services and vendors in Germany/central Europe.

For the charging cable slipping out, try cleaning the charging socket on the phone with a tooth pick or something pointy and hard. I cleaned it and a lot of jammed up dirt came out. Now my USB cable snaps into the socket again. For other things, good luck
Hello! I got my 3T last summer used from Swappa. It was advertised as "mint/like new" so I was disappointed to find how much wear there was on the device. The backside of the phone had some dot-like things. I suppose scratches from little rocks getting in through the case. The battery health was bad, had roughly 70% ish, don't remember. The cable was in bad shape and the charging port really loose and would loose connection.
So, I got a charging port off eBay. Maybe around $10. A new USB cable for $1 from China, but it's exactly as good as the original, and is fully functional to this day. I got a new housing/backside thing for $10 (China too). Exactly as the original, no issues whatsoever. I got a supposedly "extended" 3700mAh battery from china. That was a big fat lie. I got a refund. The battery in truth was 3000mAh. I'm still using it, I don't mind. Finding a good battery is either too much trouble or too expensive.
So, I installed things as they arrived. But it should take 30 minutes or so to do by yourself. The difficult or troublesome part is getting the phone open. But it's not impossible, and otherwise the phone is extremely easy to repair. But you must be careful.
I'm perfectly satisfied to this day with my refurbished-by-me 3T. Won't be upgrading anytime soon.
So i did it today.It was really not that hard, just the old battery was hard to remove. All in all a really easy repair. I saw some green marks from my dishwasher incident, but it seams that everything is working well. The battery is working, charging, as it should. With a new tempered glass protector on top it looks like new.
Which tempered glass did you get?
I have a factory unlocked SM-N975U1 Note 10+, using on AT&T's network. It recently had an update pushed to it (early April 2022) that I let install before I went to sleep, then the next day found that wireless charging no longer works. I suspect the update is the culprit - so a software glitch. I have tried everything listed here: https://tinyurl.com/yckk9mmr by The Droid Guy, from rebooting to refreshing the system cache, to no avail. The wireless charger in my truck, on my desk at home, and my husband's wireless charger - all of with which it worked perfectly before the update to charge the phone - all recognize the phone is there but the LED on each begins to flash rapidly, so I am certain it is something with the phone. I am about to try to root the phone so I can install Titanium Backup or try Nandroid then do a factory reset. Short of that option of last resort, do any of you have any idea what else could possibly be the issue here? The only other thing I can think of would be the fact that the back glass is cracked, but has been for a while now, so while I could see correlation, I do not see causation. But I am by no means anywhere close to being an expert, so I may be wrong on that point. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I do not want to incur the expense of a repair from Samsung, and am considering perhaps just getting a Qi receiver - the type you'd add to a phone between the phone and case to add wireless charging to any phone. If nothing else, if you have any recommendations on that point as well they would be most welcome.

Could be a battery failure. Get the rear cover replaced and the phone inspected for damage.
Replaced battery if it capacity is less than 80% of when new ie SOT.
Updates can break things and make troubleshooting more difficult. This could've been caused by the update or be purely coincidental.

What happens when you charge with the usb c cable? Any warning message?
Is Samsung replacing these phones for this issue? I am so irritated. Just press the back of the phone hard and it will work again??? I remember the Fonz hitting the jukebox on Happy Days, but seriously on a $1,000 phone? Gimme a break.
I just had the same problem. Is this really a thing? I can't believe this is a known issue. I followed pressing just below the camera to the right of the back and now it works.
(see the post I found below).
There seems to be a problem with the wireless assembly’s contact to the
mother board which has a temp sensor attached. Give your phone a gentle
press on the back just under the camera and a little bit to the right.
This is just a temporary fix as the wireless charger will probably lose
contact again. Hope this helps.

My Galaxy Note10+ quit wirelessly charging yesterday. I tried this and it worked! Thanks!
If I recall correctly the coil for wireless charging on the N10+ is connected by a ribbon cable. It may have become detached. Unlike the contact points Samsung used for the GPS antenna like on the S4 they should not fail.
Always use a good case to protect the N10+ from high G loading during drops as they can damaged the mobo or knock connectors loose even if there's no apparent outside damage. These are relatively heavy phones that wuv to corner impact when dropped.

The S4 had point contacts that were held in place by pressure and could corrode over time, completely different from a ribbon connector.
Whatever is loose or broken will likely need to be serviced eventually.
I wouldn't sweat, I never used wireless charging on my N10+'s, don't even know if it works. Cable charging is superior, faster and the C port socket on the N10+ is robust. Good for many thousands of cycles.

Have the rear cover pulled and see what you got.
The coil assembly may have failed.
If the battery is near 80% of its original capacity then replace that then too. This phone is too valuable to be mucking with it by pressing on the rear cover... not a good plan.
So guess what? I had recently purchased this unit as NEW, Sealed with 1 year factory warranty with on eBay. Seller had good feedback so I thought I could trust them. I was so perturbed with this charging issue after only have it for two weeks that I got with Samsung Support. I figured I was covered since it was new, sealed and had a 1 year warranty with Samsung. They verified that this phone was activated April of 2020 and the warranty expired April 2021. He also said he can see that the battery life has been used to where it only has about 50% of the potency it had when it was new. Total fraud!!!

Contact your bank and see if you can return it and have the bank do a charge back. Your state attorney general's office may be able to help as well but I would go with the first option and a full cash refund.
I do know a reliable vendor for new ones if you need that contact. I've used them. A1.
