I have just a lil question. I am Intrested long time Ago in a Double din Android Car Unit. and from searching i also did see the entries there. (I did just see the Andriod Head units Forum) that was long time ago,
Just today i did see now this MTCB/(C) and MTCD threads. i did read the Hui Fei Type Wiki but just did understand MTCB and MTCC is the same (right?) and it`s all about the microcontroller.

But i didnt get it. from the information from this thread could it be that hardware who is runing - android 4.4.4 is MTCB and hardware what is runing above android 4.4.4 - is MTCD?

Hello and good morning guys! I have a question:
I own a navigation from the eonon seller, called Eonon GA8157, that is actually a PX3 Rockchip 3188, MCTD with KBT mcu.
I'm looking for a board upgrade to px5 (quad + 4gb ram) because mine is kinda slow. I'm very hard to please and i want the navi to be fast .
I tried all the softwares, the launchers, and i stopped at malasyk + car launcher, but i want more, so... i tried searching for some android boards but i'm not sure if they are compatible.
The slot seems to be compabile, but i don't know about the hardware itself, and maybe you guys could help me with a link or a name.
I found this one that seems ok, but it says that its not compabile with something, and i really don't want to blind buy :

The link leads to a PX30 board with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, not a PX5 board. However, I've read posts where people bought a board and replaced it. Maybe try the search function and look for those posts.

Eonon GA2165 PX3
Please give feedback if you buy a board. I own a Eonon GA2165 which is a PX3 as well. I too am looking to upgrade and want to know if the Witson PX30 or a KLYDE core board is the way to go. I emailed Eonon directly and asked for an upgraded board but they were not willing to sell me one. They said the hardware and software is different and it's not possible. I don't believe them and think they just want to sell me a new radio.

im trying to upgrate my corebord RK3188 1GB RAM 16 ROM To PX5 4GB RAM 63/32 ROM , i Order from aliexprees WITSON Poweron Store PX5 Corebord but when i recived the bord i find dffrint between new board HCT-PX5 And MY old one RK3188
i can see 4 pins more in the new bord please take look the photo attachment
please if any one have solution or if can i find datasheet for both bord will help
i dont know who to solve this problem ? and the other Question is if i pay new mother bord compatable with the new corebord im not sure if will work

All the head units seem to have an MCU that's MTC*. My head unit is MCU: MCXS7 which I can't find any info on. Is there any compatible firmware for this unit?

If the system is saying it's MCU: MCXS7.190701(W) but isn't, is there any way to bring up what it really is?

It's not an MTCB,C,D,E,P,,H variant. The hardware determines the type.
In any case , suggest buying a FYT based UIS7862, as sold by chinese seller mekede/ navifly and others.
Before buying, ask seller for screenshots of Android System info and know what you are buying. So many buy and end up here asking what to do.

from what i know and please correct me if i'm wrong the differences from Android 9 to 10 have been negligible, but still i'm with Android 10 as its just newer.
Ofc new version new bugs and 'if it works dont touch it' as many say tho with A10 i've never had problems so far.
But since there's the Android 11 HA rom available now what would be the benefits of upgrading my Dasaita MAX6 from the current Android 10 or are there any negatives?

untill there is a version that trully fully works on your headunit with out bugs or at least more than you have now i would suggest to stay on the one you have and is working.
My unit came out with 7.1, and by your answer means that i should have stayed at 7.1 and never ever moved to 8, then 10.
- a version that trully fully works as you say is something quite broad, i'm not sure what it actually even means here for these HUs...
- you say without bugs, but every release has bugs. Yet, 8, 9 and 10 /and now 11/ are released and people have and are moving to them. +there are OTAs + there's Hal9k and Malaysk mods to iron them out further.
- there IS a version 11 exactly for my unit released by Dasaita.
So lets cut it.
The question of the topic is extremely simple and so far the answers dont match it. I decided to start topic about 10 to 11 because I saw there is exactly the same one by another guy about Android 9 to 10. The other one has much sensible answers tho.

There are more negatives than positives.
Unless upgrading the version of Android solves a SPECIFIC problem that you are experiencing with your head unit then you should stay on whatever version you currently have. So "fully working" in my opinion means fully working (even that is subjective) with the hardware you have. You can be assured that some key feature will "no longer be supported" with your version of the hardware at some point when updating firmware. In other words, something winds up completely broken if you go to the next version of Android.
These Chinese head unit manufacturers will use certain components which they provide support (albeit limited) for in the provided Android version on your head unit but suddenly not supported in the next Android version. For example, there have been reports here on XDA of bluetooth completely stop working on Dasaita units when going from Android 10 to Android 11.
They remove some key support from the next version of Android to try to make people buy the newest head units. In other words to get the latest version of Android you have to buy the latest head units or stick with what you have.
