Easiest way to do it would be the one-click. FH23 is available rooted but I only recommend the full restore:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859610
And if you want to stay on FH13:

BTW, where in Elk Grove? You're almost (literally) within spitting distance!

Yes the the answer but your question is a little vague... By what method? There are several ways to obtain root on FH13.
Latest base that you mentioned just says you're on the FH13 modem. Kernel and build are what you'd refer to to let people know what you're current setup is. Modem's can be mixed for best results by the user..
Check out this post by RWilco, second post, Garwynns contributions on one clicks for rooted FH13.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1835033

I am on that area by Higgins and Arlington Hts. I don't care about FH13 or ICS (I don't even like ICS), I will go to older versions with EL26.
So I rooted/unlocked bootloader etc..., but dragged my feet on installing custom ROM's. So i see that Rogers One X is getting an official Jelly Bean update. I am on AT&T so I would assume that the AT&T update is coming soon. Do I need to unroot so I don't risk bricking my phone or will the OTA update work anyway?

yeah man, you need to unroot, get back stock recovery and relock bootloader then use the correct RUU,.
it sounds like alot to do but it really is just a few fastboot commants and letting the RUU run its course, there is many guides but i think you are in the wrong forum, do you have the international one X or the dual core version?
if you have the dual core version then the correct guide for you will be here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538
Can you point me to a guide for this for the international HOX? I'm running into an issue with the last part, it fails when trying to update. Thanks!
Thanks for that info and yep in the wrong forum. Didn't realize the forums were specific to carrier. :0
thanks again,

Just updated to Kitkat on carbonrom. My phone doesn't connect to any networks so I need a modem, but the links in the stock images/kernels/ROM/modem thread over in development has broken links for me.
I would post over there asking for help but don't have enough posts and lost my old account.
Some one please re host a modem that will work for me.
Thank you so much.

Actually, I was wondering if there is a newer modem than MK7 for 4.4+ KK Roms... running CyanogenMod 11 and LOOOOOOOVE IT!

Sorry about that. I checked the first page then went straight to Google.
I flashed the modem but no APNs or networks are showing up. My baseband also says unknown.
I believe I have to flash this /firmwares/3/?download=22863 (domain is sammobile)
Do I need to use Odin or can I just flash it in TWRP? Will I need to reinstall my ROM after that?
Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks.

Did you download the correct version of carbon?
I'm using DN3 from AT&T forum and working fine and still on 4.1.2 bootloader (with agni kernel).
If you download that from sammobile, you will be on 4.3 bootloader... and there is no going back to 4.1.2. The only reason for 4.3 is wifi working without using wifi fix or different kernel. I'll be on 4.1.2 until I have to change.
This is OP. Got my account back.
I flashed the modem (is that all you're supposed to do? No wiping any thing) and had the same issues. My IMEI is also gone.
Restored back to a previous backup and now have my IMEI, baseband, and everything working.
I re downloaded the 7/04 carbon nightly with the most recent KK gapps and I'm having the same issues.
For now I'm on my old ROM unless some one can help.

Modems are specific to device and you should never flash a modem meant for any other devices. MK7 is the most up to date modem for SGH-T889.
For now flashing MK7 modem should bring back your IMEI.

Make certain you are on the most current recovery be it CWM or TWRP or variants thereof. Also make certain you are flashing the version appropriate for your model. N7105 (Note 2 Int'l) or I317 (AT&T) would be OK for a T889 if a T889 version is not available.
Updating TWRP fixed it. Thanks, I had no idea that could cause problems.

I have service as well as data.

Hey Everyone!
I am at it again! I have made leaps today with my custom ROM.
It is not ready for release just yet but wanted to get a thread started for when it is ready, to get some opinions and further clarification.
Required:
1) Any G930 US Variant
2) Must be on the G930U PEH firmware prior to my ROM
3) Rooted with Flashfire
4) I highly recommend you know how to push apks. It will start out lightly debloated but will be extremely debloated by the time I finish!
What will it contain in v1?
1) Pre rooted
2) Debloated
3) Xposed
4) V4A
5) Might be missing stuff for v1, wait and see!
Suggestions?
Please post early suggestions below. They might not be considered for build 1 but will all beconsidered as we go.
Questions?
1) Maybe someone can chime in but to my knowledge the U firmware will work on any US variant S7? I am asking for clarification since my reasoning of using the U firmware is for it to be useable on all US variants to avoid having to develop for every variant separately (I dont have time for this.)

1. Will you provide links to or host a copy of the G930U PEH firmware?
2. I suppose that since this is the universal firmware, Verizon's Mobile Hotspot provisioning will not prevent us from using Native Mobile Hotspotting....can you confirm...and if not, can you apply a a modded version of the Mobile Hotspot software that bypasses the provisioning (similar to what psouza has done with his VZW debloat script for PE1)

Is the goal here to remedy the battery life issues and CPU hangs that the eng boot/root process created? I'm excited!

The zips provided by psouza are for the PE1 build only. He mentioned somewhere in his thread that it has to be compiled for each build.

essentially I shoot for an extremely debloated rom which typically does include better speed and battery life but that is more of a side effect imo

Not necessarily. some of it does work.. ideally however i like to bake things in.. the less zips to flash the better.. i wont worry too much as i dont release roms that dont work well to begin with

The fix/fix+debloat zip that disable Verizon's Wi-Fi hotspot tethering provisioning does so by writing a modified framework-res.apk to the device, therefor it needs to match the firmware version. The patch is not complicated though (it's literally just changing/clearing two XML values), so anyone could decompile a different version, patch the xml, recompile, re-sign, and bundle that for any Verizon firmware version.

Hello;
I have an AT&T branded Note 5 which is unlocked; I am currently using it in Telcel Mexico. I still live in the ol' Android 5.1.1 - the Build Number is N920AUCU1AOGG. I've dug around a little bit and found some posts here which mention that you need to have an AT&T sim - which I obviously do not.
Other posts just say you can flash it using Kies 3... but as of right now when I run Kies 3 it tries to connect to the device then I get a message that now I can use Smart Switch. But that doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for.
Is there another way to push one of the newer, updated firmware into my device? To be honest, I have not played a lot with Android. I don't know much about all the fancy flashing and the rooting and all that.
Thanks for any advice and guidance. It is truly appreciated.

Odin flash didn't work out for you?
I regret to tell you that I have tried every mothod (including the using USA VPN,using ATT SIM card),and finally failed. Unfortunately, it seems that flashing the full package is the only way to upgrade the system. For you, you can flash this package that I have upload before to update you phone to MM(N920AUCS3BPH4). Here's a link:

If you can wait, I will upload the latest package PK1 to this post.

Yes, this is exactly what I meant. I did search in this forum, but did not find a straightforward way to do it - like a sticky, maybe? Just different posts with different methods, some using just incremental updates and different ways to push them into the device. My got told me I needed to find the full stock firmware to push it to the device.
Fortunately, after Googling for about an hour or two I found this:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/galaxy-note-5-stock-firmware/
http://www.galaxynote5update.com/galaxy-note5-stock-firmware/
In The Android Sould I found the stock images and Odin, with which I was able to update to N920AUCS4CPK1, which I believe is the latest update at the moment. So... yeah, I hope this two links help people out.
Thanks.
