Hey all,
I restarted my phone yesterday and it was stuck in a boot loop for some reason. I tried to factory reset, but doing so still resulted in a boot loop. I then proceeded to attempt to flash stock, but the flash tool crashed while during the process. When I try to boot to download mode now, I get "Secure booting error, Error!: Boot Certifcation Verify". I know this also happens on the G2, and I know the process for fixing it. But when trying to use the same method with the G3, I can't access my filesystem from Linux. Any help? Thanks.

1) Which exact model do you have?
2) Where are you from?
3) Which exact stock version did your phone come with?
4) What did you try to flash exactly, and how did you do it?
Let me know all this so I can see if I can help you :good:
Hey!
1) Which exact model do you have? - LG G3 D855
2) Where are you from? - India
3) Which exact stock version did your phone come with? - had installed earlier "LGD855AT-00-V10e-EUR-XX-JUL-08-2014-32G+0" TOT
4) What did you try to flash exactly, and how did you do it - Updated to Lollipop via kdz, a few things were broken, wanted to revert back to TOT. when the process started in download mode, got an error and then "Secure booting error, Error!: Boot Certifcation Verify".
If I press volume up and plug in then it gooes to qhsusb_bulk on device manager. it gets detected under Ubuntu VM, but dosent show th drives. thats my story.

I was rooted before updating to lollipop, then tried to back dowk to KK with TOT and this happened, so I dont think I am rooted any more.
The better question is: do you have TWRP (custom recovery) installed? If you do, your phone can be fixed. If not, you are probably screwed.
Basically it sounds to me like your phone managed to flash the updated Android 5.0 bootloader but didn't update the LAF image (download mode). The old download mode doesn't work on the new bootloader, it gives the error you are experiencing.
Because you still have a LAF partition, and presumably a recovery partition (even if they are not working) you cannot access fastboot mode.
In other words, there may be no way to fix your situation.
As the hardware is fine there must be a method, but it might be something only LG can do.

I'm in the same situation now.
I was bumped with TWRP and CM12 installed. I wanted to unroot and go back to stock. Started a flash with LG flashing tool, but it was taking ages, so I unplugged the USB cable in the middle.
Now whenever I boot via either VolUp+USB or trying to get into a recovery I get secure boot error.
Is there a way to fix this ? Or do I need to send a phone to LG ?
This has happened to me today. Downgrading got stuck at 3%. LG Flash tool said to remove phone and plug back in. Any way to fix
Also, does anyone know if downgrading voids warranty or anything?

I didn't find a way to fix it, so I've just sent it to LG repair shop. They haven't yet looked at it so I don't know how much would it cost.
People just tell the service center that you were upgrading from KitKat to Lollipop when the problem happened
Evidence wise it support your claim since the OTA from KitKat to Lollipop overwrites the aboot, sbl, laf and recovery partitions and service center people ultimately cannot tell between failed OTA and a failed KDZ flash

Did you get an answer on the cost yet? I have the same problem, so I'm probably looking at the same resolution as you.

It was free for me, as it was on warranty.
solution for no download mode
Hi guys.
If you cant enter into download mode then you need to force your g3 in to qhsusb bulk mode by shorting the test point.
When you short battery must be removed.
After short your phone will be detected as qhsusb bulk mode.
Send me msg in pm for further help.
If u dont know the test point then let me know.

Hi! I just recently bricked my LG G3 D852, and I would really appreciate it if you could PM me and help me out here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
Try this. This will revert to factory default, tons of bloatware included ?
Sent from my D855 running CloudyG3 2.3 with Gabriel5 kernel.
Don't forget to smash that thanks button if I, or someone else helps you, guys!
So i rooted my G3 and did a factory reset , now when i am at the setup , My G3 turns off , and reboots , and again , and i can t do nothing , what should i do?
So what is the state of your phone, stock rooted, stock rooted bumped?
---------- Post added at 01:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:15 PM ----------
There is probably a better way but you can use the flashtool and flash the right kdz for your phone which will fix your problem. There might be an easier way so you might want to wait and see what someone else says but flashing the kdz will definitely fix it.
Hey guys.
Ok so i sideloaded the latest update and i went ahead and unlocked the bootloader, then i flashed custom twrp and i attempted to install a custom rom. Prior to that i wiped data and i cancelled the process thinking it was taking too long,i rebooted into recovery again and flashed the custom rom and it was successful, now after a reboot its stuck on the "Asus welcome screen" powered by android,it continues in that loop,i cant seem to access fastboot or bootloader or recovery or anything?? Am i screwed???:crying:
Did you tried with volume up + power ? (release power when the phone vibrates) thats the fastboot, it displays a usb logo?
---------- Post added at 10:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 PM ----------
My phone (ZE551ML) shows an USB logo and if it i let it boot normally shows asus screen and reboots, that's it. I've read about intel phone flash tool and intel manufacturing flash tool but i dont have the RAW firmware needed to flash, no one seems to have it :S im considering taking it to service at USA even when i live in Venezuela and that will be pretty expensive $$$, but i dont see any other options

refering to your problem i did find that their isnt a raw firmware for the 551 out that anyone knows of yet but theirs one out for the 550 and i remember reading that after you flash it with "asus flash tool" then u need to flash 551 files over it to make it 551 again. dont know if your interested in trying that but if you are i will do my best to find all the information on it and post it for you. best of luck with your problem.
Hello together,
I have a very big problem with my G3. A few days ago i tried to install CM13 on it, I thought everyting was fine but later in night the phone frezze always. Then i would restore the backup, but i canĀ“t. I got an error, but I cant remember what error..
Than I tried to wipe, I got errors again. i just want to take a photo, and it suddenly works...
But installing the rom takes very long. It stays at:
"Patching system image unconditionally..."
(sorry cant insert the image)
Sorry for the few informations and my bad English, but I hope for help
Thank you, and merry christmas!
--edit:
I updated twrp to 2.8.7.0 bevore I could whipe.
I used this to repair my phone:
http://open-freax.fr...ick-your-lg-g3/
I thought it was working.. But now it is broken again..
The phone worked very fine for one day. And today it freezed suddenly, then I pulled out the battery and tried to reboot. From this moment it stuck on the screen with the cm logo..
I can't wipe, it stuck.. Installing the Rom give an error..
The Rom which is installed is: cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K8-d855.zip
And the gaps: arm 5.1 nano 25 December 2015 from opengaps
Probably the guide I used was not the right one for my problem..
I hope that I haven't destroyed the good G3 :'(
Download a diffrent rom on pc put is on a flashdrive an on the go cable then flash it in twrp
---------- Post added at 07:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:57 AM ----------
Or kdz or tot method back to stock and start again
Flashing a different rom was impossible, too.
tot method gives always errors.
And with using the kdz method, stuck at the the firmware update screen, after retrying now I stuck at the LG logo...
bricked again :good:
I flashed official lg 6.0 software on my g3(without rooting) and after a month of normal use I got stuck in a bootloop. I can't go into safe mode, but can get into download mode. Is there any way that I can keep all my data and flash the same firmware again?

Same problem here. Got a new G3 from LG and back to the same point after 24h : bootloop again and again ! I really think there is a software issue with that phone.

I had to hard rest it and now it works normally, you just need to hold the power button and volume down button until you see the lg screen. Then let it go and press it again until you see recovery mode where you can wipe your phone and it will work just fine.

Then you have to choose refubris in lg up ..also use differen version of software for example if you have v30b then use v30c .....but you loose all your data.
