Has anyone seen this? Everything still works but for how long?
Any idea how to fix this? It's long out of warranty.
Thanks

Thanks for the tip. A 15 minute chat (Saturday at 7:00 AM) got a free replacement sent for my out of warrant unit. Gotta love that google support.

Anyone have any experience with them? I plan on taking my phone in to get my cracked screen fixed and I was wondering if they just bill it to your account or if you pay immediately? I've searched everywhere couldn't find an answer.

Do you have TEP? Cause its free if you do. If not, it will cost you $35.

Yeah and they wont charge it to your account. Ay least I don't think they will. But the whole thing takes about 30-45 mins. Its pretty awesome.

They just replace the screen right? Not give you a refurbished one?

Only if they have the part in stock and if it is repairable. Once you take it there they will verify hardware version and check to see if it is repairable. They will let you know before any repairs are made if it is fixable.

I had to take mine in on Oct31 to get a massively shattered screen replaced. I have TEP, it cost me nothing and was quick. I didn't even unroot. Just flashed a stock theme over virus Rom. The rep was pretty cool, even. Told me moat techs don't real care about root and that many are root. He said, as long as you make the effort to make it appear normal and if you're not trying to get a replacement/fix for a phone that got F'd up in the root process, yet try to tell us you don't know anything about root.
I don't have TEP, I do expect to pay the $35 was just hoping I could put in on my account with the holidays coming up. Oh well it's just one crack at the bottom of my screen. I'll wait till after the holidays to get it fixed thanks for the help guys.
Its my 6 month of using this phone and last week i have a touchscreen not responsive to touch problem.
It was minor, its in the center of the screen, horizontal from right to left, only a thickness of a usb cable i guess.
It is annoying since i always accidently press that region, and its not the response from the phone i expected(either nothing happen or i accidently goes into other un-intended app).
I went and asked the center, and they said minimum 2 weeks to get the phone back if I send it, or more. reading from other local users in my country, it could take months~
what do you guys will do if you in my place? send to warranty anyway and use nokia? or just bear with it until it is completely messed up?
Send it in mate. You don't want to be frustrated with your phone. And if its covered by warranty it will be worth it.
I had to send mine in 3 times. It wasn't very nice using my mums old purple Samsung, but now I have a brand spanking new HOX and couldn't be happier!
By the way, take some good close up pics of the whole phone before you send it in, (if you do send it in)incase they damage it.
Then when it comes back, take your time and inspect it very close, screen and case! :cyclops:
thanks for the reply mate. i guess i'll send it and bear without smartphones for a few weeks. how long does it take for you to get it back for each time you send out?
Send it.
But is your phone locked? If not, this could be a plroblem.

Usually takes 2 weeks repair time.
repair time usually 2-3 weeks
If your device is developer unlocked this COULD pose to be a problem
Just always mention that this problem is a hardware problem and not software
80% of the time HTC will not have any problem with it and just fix it.
thanks guys. i'm sending it tomorrow.
I had it unlocked but its RE-LOCKED now. but i'm taking my chances as i heard HTC let it go if its hardware problem. so 2-3 weeks it is. i'll be sure to mention hardware problem many times.

Yes your right, and I figured but thought I would post it. I contact Best Buy and they made comments about a return or manufacture warranty but I doubt they will do anything as it has been almost 60 days and I have no Geek Squad insurance. I contacted Samsung and they will have me send it in for repair which is great just sucks that I am now stuck with a repaired product and lose all the value of the device I would have had.

Sorry guess I was venting. I just figured as much as I love the device at some point I would probably think of purchasing a new samsung tablet and look at selling this one. If it was still flawless when I went to sell I could get far more for it than a unit that was sent in and now is repaired for an initial hardware problem. That is all I am saying.
I've looked around the forums and everywhere online but no one seems to have a solution to my problem. A few days ago i was using my Nexus 7 and i placed it down normally and shut the screen off. I came back to use it a few minutes later and the screen didn't turn on though the device itself was still on. I thought maybe it was just some lag which happens occasionally after i press the power button. I tried restarting it but the screen just stayed black. I think it is still charging because the led notification light still lights up every few seconds as usual and it still seems to be powered on. Is there a possible solution to fix this quickly or would i have to send it back to ASUS since it has been about 6 months since i purchased it?
Can you access to the bootloader ?
I can't actually see the screen so i guess no
Have you tried pressing the power button for longer than a minute?
If that doesn't work you may need to RMA to Asus.

I just found out that my mom threw out the box that the nexus 7 was shipped in, meaning i no longer have the warranty or serial number. Is there any way to access this information otherwise?

I think you have to take the back off for that. I am not sure though. Maybe someone that has taken their nexus apart can chime in.

Is it necessary to have the original charger? I don't have it because it broke on me about a month after having it.

i bought my phone 1 month ago and it has yellow tint at bottom. it is not a big problem but it triggers my OCD. is there any way to solve this? i sued the seller due to this problem (they are denying the problem or pretend not to see) but if i lose the case, i want to use my phone without a problem. Thanks in advance

Try some burn-in fix apps from google play, and leave them overnight.
Last solution would be replacing the oled panel.

i heard UV light solves this problem, but i am not sure to do it. i use my phones min. 2-3 years, so i am nervous about that :/
Lol let's start by saying that you got an device with a factory problem and it's seller refuse to five you your money back... that's really bad! You have to do something about it. If you can't do what the guy said before. Download a burn-in app, it can't get worse, can it?
