Hi, guys. I have bought device some days ago and unfortunately I have discovered sleep of death in my Note2. Device bought from Arabia. First it was stock ROM, i discovered SOD in this firmware, I changed it and installed Android Revolution HD 4.0 with Perseus kernel. But SOD still exist. I do not know what to do more. May be anybody had such a problem and could fix it? Please, share info with me and thanks a lot for advance
it goes off once or twice a day, I must push Power button for 10 second or take away battery/put back and power to turn on device
hardware?

perhaps its a hardware issue. is there any way u could bring it back to the place u bought it? otherwise maybe just an extremely buggy ROM. im just guessing anyways. hope its resolved soon. cause it is a mint device. im got myself one too and im absolutely loving it
unfortunately no way to send it back, my buddy bought it for me, when was in KSA
Mine doesn't do this.. Had it about 2-3 weeks
I had one SOD so far. I was playing granny smith, locked the phone while the game was still on, didn't wake up. That was on my first boot. Since then no problems.
very interesting is there any way to fix this problem?
today put new official ROM, Pit, Bootloader, PDA, Modem and waiting for the result ...
But have you updated it to the latest Samsung firmware? If not then use Kies on your PC to update your Note 2 to the latest version.
Btw I've never had sod on my note 2, even when in the stock power save mode. Stock phone no root.

i have resolved SOD problem in my Note2. I installed GT-N7100XXALJ3_SER_HOME RESCUE ROM, took away external sd-card, and in wifi advanced option put check if wifi internet service is available when AP connected. That is all. No SOD
Ahh good happy for you !

Hey!
The sod that was talked about in this thread is not the same thing as the eMMC bug some have been experiencing, this bug doesn't cause a brick.
Ttorrent has a bug where it simply freezes the whole system, but it's solved with a reboot. Google shows several reports of this. Don't know whether it's fixed or not now.

I remember this from Note 1... had no idea this problem was still around - and again it seems to bother just some people, even if they all use the same rom. On Note 1 it had most likely something to do with deep sleep / frequency changes, and was "fixed" by preventing your phone from going to deep sleep mode.

Hi guys. I have same problem. A few days ago I've decided to install custom rom with 4.3. First problem was when I tried to install ROM. CWM couldn't mount my internal sd. I solved this problem, but now I have SOD. I tried many manuals to fix it( battery calibration, turn of WIFI in sleep mode, etc) I just noticed one think. When I turn OFF and then turn ON "Power Saving Mode" It happens that device may work for a couple of hours. I forgot one think. I have SOD problem every time I lock my device.
P.S. sorry for my english

Had the same problem a few days ago, at first I thought it was faulty hardware or a bug with the stock firmware.
But it was working perfectly fine the minute before, so I suspected it may be related to something I was doing with the phone at the time.
After some experimenting, I have come to the conclusion that it's somehow affected by (multiple) Google Play apps downloading/installing. During this state, if the system idles and automatically turns off the display, there's a great chance that I can not wake up the phone. I did not try manually turning off the screen.
After the apps have all finished installing completely, I can't repro the problem. (Might have rebooted once, can't remember)
Maybe it's the same situation as yours or your friend's, hope this helps.

Yes, I have a feeling that this is the case.
My Z1C is fine, but I have experienced something similar with my Z Ultra.
It is hard to pinpoint exactly what the cause is, but multiple download and screen turning off reminds me of the situation when I run my U-torrent app on my ZU. At first I thought it was screen of death that was affecting some of the device back then on the older firmwares, but came to understand that it is the torrent app causing the probs.
So multiple play store apps download can possibly have similar issues!
Hmmm, no apps downloading at the time, just killed all of the background apps and seems to have worked
Cheers guys

It's a common issue I've found with pretty much any Android device (experience of it on Samsung Galaxy S, HTC One X, and now Sony Xperia Z1 Compact).
It's rare, but whenever I notice it, it's always linked to the phone doing a complication of heavy task processing (such as installing apps) at the same time as heavy downloads (such as downloading apps).
If I've left my apps for a while, and then update say 30 all together, you'll get this issue on pretty much any android phone while it's trying to hammer away at the other tasks it's doing.
Have the same issue here, without any Google Play downloading going on. I didn't have that on my previous Android phone (Motorola Droid RAZR).
I noticed that rebooting the phone cures the problem for a while, but I would like to solve the problem once and for all.

I just had to deal with this. Power button gets progressively worse til it never responds again. You can remap other buttons but you're stuck once it powers off!
The cause is that the ribbon cable connector for the power & volume buttons worked itself loose. It can be fixed by putting a little foam pad on it to discourage it from coming loose again. I think it's amanufacturing fault - there should have been one put on at the factory. The connector is under the screen; you don't need to disassemble anything else, but the screen is very, VERY easy to break when removing - heroic patience required
Hey guys,
About a month ago my LG g3 would randomly crash, i noticed it happened more on apps such as snapchat and the camera (default) but then started to happen when just on chrome and other random apps. in the last week this got a lot more frequent and started occurring at least 10 times a day, again mostly in camera apps but also on others.
Yesterday i tried fixing it by installing the newest android update - lollypop? I also uninstalled snapchat as it was crashing my phone constantly. Crashes were still occurring so i updated all my apps. After this my phone wouldn't even load, it would crash and then just loop in the LG logo bootup.
It did this for about an hour with no luck till i plugged it in to the wall. It then worked absolutely perfectly and has done since. But when i take it out of the wall it will crash within about 3 minutes of normal usage or about 10 seconds from opening the camera.
I then backed up my data and performed a factory reset. After this i am still experiencing the exact same problem. Fine when plugged into the wall but when its not plugged in it doesn't last 1 minute.
I have searched the internet and can find similar problems but no definitive fix, please could anyone advise? Thanks!!!

Try to flash back to stock via kdz or tot so you can make sure that your issue is not hardware issue. It will delete all of your data.

Yeah no problem, here is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089 . Download the kdz that is for your phone and use lg flash tool like in the thread to flash back to stock.

I just received my pixel last Thursday and I immediately installed N because I needed to test out split screen for my company's app. Anyway, I have two issues that no one is experiencing. Hoping someone here has some clue.
1.) while playing music, the tablet would suddenly crash. Speakers emit Loud static and the tablet reboots. It ONLY happens when the tablet is sleeping. It doesn't happen in MM. I've tried deleting cache partition, factory reset, reinstalling MM, then upgrading again.
2.) I'm missing theme option in developer menu.
Any clues? I'm running March security update.
I just want to be sure these are not hardware problems. Because I'm running out of return period window.
same here for music.....

If it doesn't happen with MM i guess u don't have to worry.... Remember "N" is in alpha/beta stage at the moment so u can must expect problems , the problems u describe sound like software issues and not hardware related.

Thanks.
Does it happen in other music applications too?
Are you also missing theme option in Developers Menu?
This morning my tablet has been rebooting every 15 mins or so while its not in sleep.

Yeah I am not worried about bugs, I just couldn't find anyone else facing the same issues. On Android N Beta Program page on Google+ everybody said their Pixel C is working fine, no reboots, have dark theme option and music doesnt crash.
I only use Google play music.....my C reboots often....I don't remember now about the theme...(tablet is at home(

from the last few days i am facing frame skipping in video playback (including youtube app, mx player, vlc) , the video lags and skips few frames.
I did a factory reset, installed deodexed version, wiped cache even reinstalled stock but the problem is still there
Anyone with some info please help
thanks in advance
Yeah bro,i am also facing same problem, BTW did u find any solution?
I'm also facing same issue after nougat update,
I have factory reseted my phone, updated all apps and applied system settings (enabled 'FORCE GPU RENDERING), but it doesn't solved my problem.
Yes it's present in stock ROM nougat version. On mm there weren't any such issues.
Sent from my Lenovo P2a42 using Tapatalk
i don't thinks that its a solution
but after flashing the nougat rom through fastboot the problem of stutter has reduced greatly
now it doesn't stutter that often
Any other solutions for this problem?? i have already factory reset it 2 times and i don't want to risk my new device doing fastboot flash :crying:
any solution for this prblm
I updated my phone to 244 and did a factory reset still the problem persisted but the stutter doesn't seem to occur when I keep it in airplane mode. Can anyone try this.
Guys, I guess I figured it out. Turning off the "participate in the Lenovo experience program" in about phone in settings fixed mine. Hope it works out the same for you guys.

Doesn't work for me, had it turned off from the beginning. The problem also applies to alarm sounds for me, they pause for a split of second every 10-15 secs, is it caused by the same thing?
Is this a common problem or only happens to some of the ppl? How can I know this? I bought this phone yesterday and after it consumed 25% of battery overnight I seriously consider returning it The battery was the main reason I purchased it and now is seems not only it doesnt work properly but other stuff is broken...
Did you update the phone to 244. If not then try it and check again. There weren't any other problems for me other than the video stutters.
If the question was for me, then yes, I did update to 244 and did a full wipe afterwards.
Hmm. Guess your only option is to give it to Lenovo service center and make them roll it back to marsh mellow.
Weird Bug!!! Seems it happens only when using Jio sim in nougat. It will not lag when u switch on aeroplane mod...
Same for me, airplane mode solves the stutter issue. Can you confirm that it works OK on other sim cards.
How does this help me with YouTube? I believe that it will not even load without internet? And what is "Jio"?
It's a 4g carrier in India. Btw have you tried airplane mode. We know that you can't use YouTube but try Mx player or vlc for stutters while in airplane mode. We just want to narrow the possibilities.
I bought a Bluetooth headphone yesterday and it seems to get worse. It was then I found out that an app named Android system was draining my battery but is not the actual Android system(check the screenshot).I went to the app manager and force stopped this app and haven't felt any stutters till now.
Edit: Although the app opens up after a while even if you force stop it and the stutters continue. Need to check after freezing it.
Does this problem still exist? Planned to buy this phone today... but meh, thats a dealbreaker.
Does this problem occur on Custom ROMs too? damn ... i want this battery monster.

The phone doesn't have any major problems such as this one on marshmallow at least from what I hear but running it on nougat will make you to face such problems and Lenovo provides a crappy support.
