Shot in the dark I guess but since I got this device, Snapchat has been terribly laggy and almost unusable. Specifically when using the keyboard for text. Sometimes when I launch it, the camera is just black for roughly 5 seconds and then the back camera comes on finally. The chat feature is very slow at times and the entire app seems to stall and crash at least once a day. Anyone else notice this?
A quick google search yielded several recent topics on various forums complaining about the same thing, all on 6.0 Marshmallow. Hopefully it's not just this device.
I'm getting this exact thing
I went through that too. Once I had to restart it to make the camera work again. My tip is do not try use volume keys until it load completely. It just frozen the app in a black screen. Isn't perfect but can be used.
It's probably not optimized as well for 6.0 yet
Snapchat hasn't been perfect for me, but I've never experienced any of those issues. The worst I get is a little delay when pressing the home button.

I have had this problem we will have to wait for an update!! Basically that's what I've been telling myself lately about marshmallow

I can tell you guys I had this problem on my Nexus 6 on Marshmallow, it has to be something related to 6.0, I'm on a LG G4 now and snapchat runs just fine.
Kinda laggy for me too. And I can't get it to play a notification sound when I recieve snaps. I have turned it on in settings and I get a notification as normal, but no sound. Does anyone else have this problem?
Just uninstalled it from the n5x will have to limit myself to using it on n72013 it was unusable. Crashes camera failed to load then started to affect the stock camera app, would cause system crashes and could only be sorted with a reboot.
Same here its completely horrible to use of this phone. Phone ****s itself every time I try use it!

The app has been perfectly fine for me, up until the update I got yesterday. Now I see exactly what everyone is talking about....it's completely unusable now.
Our of curiosity...are you guys all encrypted?

Ok never mind then. I've been decrypted since I got the phone, until I took an OTA recently. It's been crap since then, but I guess it's unrelated

stock & encrypted and snapchat runs like poo for me. shame because its one of my most used apps :/
Well again Snapchat just updated, and now I'm back to it working fine again....

The past few updates have been good for me luckily.. Just don't try to send a snap while in landscape, I tried to add text and Swiftkey went all wonky and overlayed the screen even after I pressed Home, had to force close Snapchat and Swiftkey both :/
me too I have same issues the lag and so slowly for texting and even after update marshmallow update 6.0.1 the problem still the same I hope can anyone help me with issue what should to do and thanks you
So I am a power snapchat user and had this same problem and might have accidentally stumbled on a possible solution after having a login failure. I enabled the travel mode so it's not downloading constantly. I installed snapprefs and I can't explain why but it's flying now. No lag on window switching or opening the camera. I'm on 6.0.1 December rooted
Everytime I take video from Snapchat, it produces the sound "dug" at the first second of the video, never put my finger too hard on the phone so it isn't bcs of my finger knocking the screen, anybody know why?

Does anyone on here have a Ring doorbell? I just installed one today and it sucks on my XL. It freezes, I can't talk to who's out there and can't hear them. Also it takes a few seconds when I touch the screen for it to recognize it. Like I hit my home button and 5 seconds later it finally closes the app. The weird thing is it works great on my Nexus 7. Anyway just wondering if anyone else has the same problem or any ideas on how to fix it.

So obviously this was supposed to say Ring Doorbell Problem. How do I fix that. Nothing is going right for me today I guess.
I have the Ring and had similar problems in the beginning. However, it settled down over time. Give it a few days, and maybe uninstall and reinstall the app. Good luck.
Thanks. Hopefully it will settle down. I tried uninstalling and installing but still doesn't work. I don't understand this phone. It seems to have too many problems.

After upgrading my Galaxy S7 to the Android N beta I'm having issues with the Ring videos. Video playback (live or streaming or downloaded and played back) of Ring videos is basically broken. Playback freezes up, only the latter part of the video seems to play for a bit.
Everything is working fine now, maybe a reboot was all that was needed?
I have ring doorbell on my Pixel XL . I had problems hooking it up to my phone . Finally got to hook after an hour. No problems since

It seems like N has some real problems. I can't get my phone to stay connected to my GMC vehicle and apps can cause it to lock up and not work. I had most of the same problems when my 6P updated. Hope it gets fixed soon.
Sent from my Pixel XL using XDA-Developers mobile app
I've figured out the issue. I have a Huawei watch. When my watch is connected that's when the problems happen. No idea how to fix it other than trying to turn off Bluetooth before opening the notification from ring app.

Sorry, I've had mine from the beginning and been in the beta test also from the start. Never had an issue with the sound. If you've recently purchased your pixel you may be able to get a replacement. Otherwise you should try the Google forum for help.
Sent from my Pixel C using Tapatalk
It looks like you have the common Pixel C issue. The current best workaround is to tap on the "OK Google" microphone, wait for the voice response and your "sound" should then be restored. The issue has a long history (March 2016?) .
I have the impression that Google hopes the problem will just go away because the volume of devices sold doesn't justify sorting it out. Various parts of Google have different opinions of the issue. Google telephone support are still acting as if its a hardware fault and swapping devices yet issues in ASOP ( https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/ report it's of little importance, fixed and awaiting roll out and closed through lack of information.
I currently don't have the problem - I suspect it's because I now don't use specific apps to play downloaded mp3's but I don't have the evidence to support that opinion. Now I haven't got the problem I'm not going to look for it.
Their help/support seems to suggest it's a user installed app. Have you tried booting in safe mode? I'm gonna have to try this, but it happens so rarely, once every couple days..
Happened to me on 7.1.2 BETA, so I went back to N4F26I still happens after leaving tablet idle over night after falling asleep listening to youtube. I have to go into setting > google > search > voice > "OK GOOGLE" detection and toggle "always on" off on to get sound back Or reboot..
Hello everybody, I just became the owner of a new 128gb Pixel XL! I am coming from a Nexus 6P. I was running the latest developer preview of O on my 6P and it worked fine for a daily driver. It performed well and I didn't have any random reboots, force closes, etc. Is the latest Pixel DP pretty solid? Would you say it could be used as a daily driver? Thanks for any input!

I've been using it as a daily driver on my Pixel XL 128GB with no issues. The only weird thing I've really noticed is that occasionally, when coming out of deep sleep, it will struggle at first, but then smooths out. Also, occasionally the Google Play Music app will show a notification, but other than that no problems. WIFI, bluetooth & LTE work as expected. I'm on Project FI and wifi calling and VoLTE while connected to a T-Mobile tower also work properly. As far as battery life goes, I consider myself a moderate user (SOT of 3hrs) and I can get through a full day without having to charge.
I went back to N.
Battery life is not good, and there are too many glitches.

I personally took the ota with no issues from N.
Ended up going back to N. Was having issues with Google music and messaging. Clean wipes and still the same thing.

Got the OTA to Android O from 7.1.2 after enrolling in the beta then got the small maintenance update (OPP2.170420.019) that fixed the Android Pay issue and I've been running fine ever since.
No one has trouble with talk to text when you press the mic on Gboard??

It's not daily driver ready
Don't listen to any one who says otherwise
Its definetly usable if you arent a power user. But there to many small glitches to make it worth it. Force closing on some apps and unable to mount on USB 3.0 ports were my most painful issues. Had to revert.
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
I haven't had any serious issues using O as a daily driver. I've only come across one app so far that doesn't work--Air Droid just force closes repeatedly. I finally got sick of the error messages and uninstalled it. I haven't encountered any other issues but I'm not really a power user.
I have a Pixel XL 128GB too and I would not recommend it as a daily driver, I'm rolling back to nougat today btw.
I would describe it as an advanced version of a CM/Lineage nightly, it has no major issue but it's far from being stable.
I had some overheating issue when mobile data is on, I also have fc problem with the settings app when data is on. I also noticed that battery life was much better and consistant on Nougat.
To elaborate, I tried N when it was beta on Nexus 5x, and that was awesome, stable and smooth from the get go.
O beta is just not ready. Simply isn't.
It fixed my camera problems
I am using it as daily driver since dev preview 2 is out and did not encounter any problems so far. Battery life might not be as good as Nougat but the difference is not big enough to be a problem, at least not for my usage. I was about to return my Pixel XL because I was having problems with the camera on Nougat, pictures were blurry as soon as I tried to zoom and the videos were completely out of focus all the time and this problem is gone now. If anyone else is having this problem you should try O.
I've actually found that battery life is slightly better on O than on the most recent builds of Nougat. I've also encountered no problems with the settings force closing when data is on or anything like that. If you've ever run a custom Rom like Pure Nexus O is already more stable than that. Obviously it's not going to be as stable as Nougat but it seems fine as a daily driver to me
I've been using Preview 2 since it came out no modifications. It works for what I do each day, Google Chrome, WiFi, Bluetooth, Google Play Music, NonStop Chuck Norris. Only issues I've had is it doesn't wake from sleep with OKGoogle, and I had to change my WiFi router from being hidden to connect for both 2.5 and 5Ghz. Haven't had any Bluetooth issues thank goodness!!!
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
been running it since release. was originally on N stable, went to dev preview, which was not stable enough, back to N stable then took O OTA.
Apps I use all work, though some stuff is janky, as the release notes say will happen.
On first boot phone.app had same issues I encountered on dev. preview, IE: crashes and not able to actually make calls. However on the beta, wiping phone data/cache fixed those issues, and it now works fine.
Android Auto stops working after a few days, reboot fixes temp.
Google Play music notification pops up randomly, many others have this as well, just an annoyance.
Bluetooth on occasion is dodgy. It works fine, but once in awhile, the display in my vehicle is incorrect, or doesnt populate info at all, most times just going to next track or previous track fixes it.
Camera can be slow to launch (this is posted by Google as a known issue).
Been using it as daily and for me its been good, nothing I have encountered would make me need to go back to N.
Does anyone have issues with the mic button on gboard freezing phone
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
I've been having the same issues listed above with play music and Bluetooth failing to display track info on my car headunit. Other than that, things are okay - few app crash notifications w/o the app truly crashing. The important stuff seems to work normally so far.
I have seen a lot of weird android O problems put up here, is it really that buggy or are their a lot of you rooting and running things that aren't necessarily tailored to O yet? Just curious, I don't have it yet but as soon as it is made available to my Pixel XL I will download it, I just want to make sure it isn't a giant bucket of bugs.
Sent from my BTV-W09 using Tapatalk
I haven't had any issues, I was able to update with OTA before Google pulled it the first time. Mine updated normally, havent had any weird reboots or behavior on my device yet.
I am unlocked running pure stock, enrolled in the beta atm
I haven't had any issues either. It's been performing very well and Bluetooth works great for me on everything I've tried it with.
I did a clean factory image. Rooted and suhide. Many of the TiBu apps had to be deleted and data restored, but that happens between different ROMs, so it's no surprise. Battery drain seems higher than PN or PixelDust, but it's too early to tell for sure. Push notifications are taking longer than on 7.1.2 for gmail, outlook, and wickr. But, no bugs so far to report.
Awesome, so I guess since I am not rooted or unlocked and not using any non android O approved apps (that I know of) I have a very small chance of bugs. Thanks. I really do appreciate it, sets my nerves at ease.

Battery life with Oreo and I don't have that great of reception.
Got Oreo on my Pixel XL via the beta.
No reports yet of problems with volume or battery life, but one of the new features "picture-in-picture", is not working for me at all. Google support have told me its a known issue and are working on it.
Like Partridge's extendable table, it's not a deal-breaker.

PiP only works with YouTube red or if you modify your nav bar to have a custom button to do it for youtube. And go to chrome watch a video in full screen then press home it'll work that way.
Not sure what's happening but when I was on dp4 and now on Oreo official the battery life has been the best it's ever been since I bought the phone back in 2016.
My experience has gotten better over the last day or so. The first 24hrs felt very janky. Since it has settled in and I'm happy with the performance.
When you guys did a fresh install did you restore all of your settings etc from the cloud? Or are you manually resetting your phone back up?

Only bug I've seen is PIP. This release has fixed my bluetooth issues(controls sometimes not working with my Jaybird X2's, Moto 360 constantly disconnecting with having issues getting it to reconnect even after reboots of phone and watch). Bluetooth issues have been my only complaint with the phone and those started for me only after the first OS update(7.?.?). I flashed the factory image and restored from cloud backup. Very happy so far.

Has anyone had notification sound problems? When I get a notification the sound plays at least twice or more.
I perform the OTA as beta program first and use it for 5-10 mins.
Later I decided to perform a facotry reset, during the wifi setup, I found that the phone cannot recognize my hidden wifi. In the end, I found that the phone could not find wifi channel 11, 12 or 13 from my router AC68U. I manually set the channel to 4 and the wifi was connected.
Last time I saw the same issue was on my Kindle Voyage.
