Last week I got my battery replace by HTC HK, the receipt clearly said it only replace the battery, after I get back my phone I found the upper part of the screen sometime will be non responsive, today I call HTC HK again and they say according to their computer record my screen module also got replaced, what the.... the worst is they don't have parts in stock for replacement, I need to wait at least 2~3 week just for the parts.
My screen is fine before replace the battery, I don't know why HTC replace it secretly.

I don't think they have the technology to suck the battery out of the USB port just yet.

and I don't think they allow to replace my working screen with a bad one without my permission and not notify me.
anyway, I just get a confirmation from local consumer council which said it is HTC fault to replace my screen without my permission and not notify me, HTC may break the law in here due to they replace my parts without my permission and not notify me at all.
as the case now go through the consumer council and they may forward to other government department about the legal issue, I cannot comment on this topics anymore.

Some youtube guys called the 10 the medusa of all phones to repair. So its hardly possible to remove the battery without damaging the screen because there is glue everywhere.

I wonder if anyone can help. I did search the site but couldn't find anyone with similar problems.
The problem is the screen colours are 'messed up' and it rarely displays the screen correctly. I know its a problem like a lose or damaged connection inside the phone but I want to know if it will get fixed out of warranty? If so where do I start?
If the warranty is useless then I will crack the phone open and have a look myself, but I didn't want to open it if HTC will fix it.
Its an O2 XDA IIs by the way with the latest O2 software.
Here is a pic:

It doesn't look too bad in that pic, but it gets worse and sometimes fades to white.
Thanks
F355,
Akthough I'm no specialist, it remonds me a problem I had with a graphic card a while ago. It could well be that the graphic chip on the main board is giving way.
If such is the case and the device is still under warranty, u know what to do!

Thats the problem I think its out of warranty. I remember I had a Nokia 8210 about 4 years ago and they fixed that even out of warranty, just wondering if HTC are as good customer service wise. Its probably wear and tear but surely it should be designed to last. My XDA I is much better quality, shame its so big, slow and has no features.
Well I contacted O2 data support and they said that O2 XDAs come with 2 years warranty (the phone is 1yr 1m old) so they are sending a pre-paid envelope and hopefully fixing it.
The only problem is because its 'screen damage' they might not fix it even in warranty and I will have to pay £17 handling fee.

microsoft my phone should do it
Sorry to hear that man, as I feel you as I too had my HD2 stolen just last month. If you are in USA there is nothing you can do as no GSM carrier supports IMEI blocking, they can but they don't. In theory they can view the phone when its online as when when makes new connect with stolen phone with diff simcard it will be registred. But simply they don't care for it unless Big Brother steps in you know or used in emergency to locate someone.
Normally there are GPS service which can make the device send the owner its coordinates also giving remote capabilities like if nearby SMSing it will provide audiable alert or by backing the data and syncing online and locking it. For it to work one must have it installed before this takes place.
When I had my HD2 stolen I just finished flashing new rom and GF called so we went to the bar and didn't have time to install my software packages. I checked Craigslist/eBay couldn't find it. I was very ticked of as I paid 750 for HD2 + 200 or so on addon accessories. The most important thing was the data on the device contacts till this day I don't have they are gone unless they contact me as I only recovered parietal though recent audit call logs.
I know the feeling my whole world ended lol I became totally handicapped without my device, it makes you think hard how depended we become. I use it for everything and showed it off as I had very good reason as I extremely modified it beyond extreme with my own tweaks and things. I even left the prick SMS saying I would pay more than its worth if kid returns it, but he is not dumb he knew WTF would happen to him if he shows up.

About a week ago I started having the same issue as the person who started this thread:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/25020-screen-pixelated/
Now my question is, I have a ding in the casing of my phone that happened long before the screen issues. Would Verizon warranty my phone even with the ding in it? Seeing how the screen problems aren't related to the ding? And if they were to, would they charge me full retail for the replacement phone once they get my old one and see the ding?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Here's a picture of the ding in case anyone asks.
It looks worse in the picture than it really is.

Bad thread URL, bro. But for them to deny warranty work, they have to prove that the ding is related, so I would say you are good, as long as you arent taking it to them for the ding.

Thanks for the catch.
That's a little bigger than a "ding"...
As adrynalyne said, unless they think the screen issues are related to the case damage, you should be good. Kinda depends on the CS rep you get.

My phone took a fall last night from waist height onto a tile floor. I picked it up in horror only to find that the screen wasn't cracked and the only thing wrong was a green pixel in the notification bar. When I got home, I noticed some discolouration on the screen so I downloaded lcd test and sure enough there was a blue blob in the center of the screen and the notification bar was rainbows.
(excuse the webcam pictures, my phone is my main camera)

It was a bit worse than the picture shows, but it's usable.
Flashforward to this morning...
And that's on a plain white screen... It's barely usable at this point, and I assume it's just going to get worse.
Can I just replace the screen? Will that fix it? I was going to see how much samsung would charge to fix it, but I figured I'd ask here first.
Whoa. That is bad. I hope my SIII I9305 will always be safe. Have you looked on eBay for replacement screens?
Sent from my GT-I9305 using XDA Premium HD app
Yeah, cheapest I could find was $200, which is what I expected. Switching out the display should fix it though, right?
Better add insurance on that phone and send it to them to either fix it or replace it.
Sent from my SGH-T999
The only reason I don't have insurance on it is because I bought it on ebay. Also I'm not about to commit insurance fraud, thanks.

Samsung has a year warranty on all their phones.
If there's not a crack anywhere and no noticeable damage from it being dropped, you can simply open up live chat support on their website and tell them that the screen is going bad and you want to send it to get fix with warranty.

I think you should first take to a Motorola/Lenovo customer service center and get it replaced there, and how bad is the screen damage?

Ahh, that seems bad, have you asking any of your local phone repair shops ?
Moto G5S isn't a really popular models compared to other moto phones which would make it hard to find the replacement and expensive, guess your other options is to seek a replacement in Hyderabad or Bangalore
I have seen a display on maxbhi but I don't know whether to trust it or not https://www.maxbhi.com/search.html?mb_model_id=1289664&cat_type=screen&q=&features_hash=1

after some googling I found this info
Now if the part you have ordered is available with them then they will provide it. But the thing is not all spares are available are shown on the site. So they might cancel your order and instead of returning the money, they will put it in your maxbhi wallet.
You can use this money to order something else, if it's available then it will be shipped and you should receive it within a week.
