microsoft my phone should do it

Sorry to hear that man, as I feel you as I too had my HD2 stolen just last month. If you are in USA there is nothing you can do as no GSM carrier supports IMEI blocking, they can but they don't. In theory they can view the phone when its online as when when makes new connect with stolen phone with diff simcard it will be registred. But simply they don't care for it unless Big Brother steps in you know or used in emergency to locate someone.
Normally there are GPS service which can make the device send the owner its coordinates also giving remote capabilities like if nearby SMSing it will provide audiable alert or by backing the data and syncing online and locking it. For it to work one must have it installed before this takes place.
When I had my HD2 stolen I just finished flashing new rom and GF called so we went to the bar and didn't have time to install my software packages. I checked Craigslist/eBay couldn't find it. I was very ticked of as I paid 750 for HD2 + 200 or so on addon accessories. The most important thing was the data on the device contacts till this day I don't have they are gone unless they contact me as I only recovered parietal though recent audit call logs.
I know the feeling my whole world ended lol I became totally handicapped without my device, it makes you think hard how depended we become. I use it for everything and showed it off as I had very good reason as I extremely modified it beyond extreme with my own tweaks and things. I even left the prick SMS saying I would pay more than its worth if kid returns it, but he is not dumb he knew WTF would happen to him if he shows up.

Screen problems

I wonder if anyone can help. I did search the site but couldn't find anyone with similar problems.
The problem is the screen colours are 'messed up' and it rarely displays the screen correctly. I know its a problem like a lose or damaged connection inside the phone but I want to know if it will get fixed out of warranty? If so where do I start?
If the warranty is useless then I will crack the phone open and have a look myself, but I didn't want to open it if HTC will fix it.
Its an O2 XDA IIs by the way with the latest O2 software.
Here is a pic:

It doesn't look too bad in that pic, but it gets worse and sometimes fades to white.
Thanks
F355,
Akthough I'm no specialist, it remonds me a problem I had with a graphic card a while ago. It could well be that the graphic chip on the main board is giving way.
If such is the case and the device is still under warranty, u know what to do!

Thats the problem I think its out of warranty. I remember I had a Nokia 8210 about 4 years ago and they fixed that even out of warranty, just wondering if HTC are as good customer service wise. Its probably wear and tear but surely it should be designed to last. My XDA I is much better quality, shame its so big, slow and has no features.
Well I contacted O2 data support and they said that O2 XDAs come with 2 years warranty (the phone is 1yr 1m old) so they are sending a pre-paid envelope and hopefully fixing it.
The only problem is because its 'screen damage' they might not fix it even in warranty and I will have to pay £17 handling fee.

oh, i have the same question
UK residents should be aware that it is a criminal offence to change the IMEI number of a phone and if you are found doing it for other people you can get upto five years.
I love it when instead of answering peoples questions with an actual answer, someone feels the need to tell you how bad/illegal/wrong, it is to do what your doing. But then when you go back and look at older threads, or even on other forums, you see that same person asking the same question you asked, a year or two earlier. But once they know the answering, they tell everyone else not to do it, not to ask, and they can go to jail, blah blah blah. Unreal. Its sad when certain forums are 30% legitimate questions, and 60% "troll answers", and 10% real answers. It sucks when you have to go through reading 3 days worth of bull**** to get the answer to a question that is fairly basic, and in the old days would have been answered, and if there was no known answer, everyone would have worked TOGETHER to find one. Those days are obviously long gone, as everyone is more interested in "getting mine", and making, or think theyre going to make, that whopping $10 charge to give you that answer or do that service for you. Even though its "illegal". Ya its illegal, until you pay them, then legality all of a sudden is no longer an issue. Funny how that works right?
I would think XDA would be the place where "Devs" come up with solutions without judging! This is the whole idea of places like this. Where we do things we want to do with our devices. It can be getting rid of malware, junkware. Developing awesome skins, ROMs, apps. We circumvent operator practices to stifle our beautiful hardwares so why not develop easier ways to stop the government from blocking our freedom to use/buy devices and use them freely on any network!

Funny...

People i don't understand you..Majority of you has decided to root your device and install new softwer on it..everything works fine for some time and than problems for most of you..my question is,why are you doing that?most things are installed for a reason..thats the same thing like buying a familly car and than making sport coupe from that same car..my opinion is,if you expect from your phone to bake cookies, make coffie, wash dishes buy the phone that does that..metaforic said..i see that every day someone starts the topic Bricked,What to do,Please help etc.. YOU WOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS IF YOU DIDN'T MESSED WITH YOUR PHONE..

Person, i don't understand you, you buy a phone which has the capability to bake cookies, make coffie, wash dishes but is limited by the manufacturer and/or network, its like buying a sports car that has been limited to 30 mph, the first thing you should do to is is remove the limiter.

[Q] VZ Navigator on LG Spectrum?

I'm considering buying the phone because i loved the phone's light weight and crisp display. But, a reviewer(for pocketnow) said that the VZ Navigator always crashes and makes the phone almost unusable until he reboot it. So, I wanna ask if this problem occurs in every Lg Spectrums...

So just uninstall VZ Navigator? I mean, I don't know why all these carriers slap their own navigation on top of the G-Maps one.
Well.... Maybe I should.
But I don't like installing a custom launcher or jailbreaking the phone.
I received an message from a reviewer works for Wirefly, saying that his LG runs VZ navigator smoothly. So, maybe that's just his issue.

I don't mean any offense by this at all, but if you're not going to root (jailbreak) your phone, you're pretty much on the wrong forum. That's all we do around here.
I have a reason for that;
after i use the phone for a month, i will bring this back to korea, where LG provides excellent customer service. But they don't take care of handsets bricked by rooting. So, I want to root it at least 1 years after I bought the phone.
Before you do anything to your phone, would you please make a screenshot of Settings -> About phone (scroll to the bottom)
I'd like to make sure our unbricked phones have the same data there.
Screenshot can be taken by pressing at the same time power button and home button, the images stored in /sdcard/Captured Images/
(first time I see a linux with spaces in the filenames..go figure)
This is mine:

If the phone is showing that message and was purchased off of eBay, then the phone was stolen from a business. The phone cannot be utilized as it will be flagged and will have its IMEI blacklisted after some time. That message you are seeing confirms that.
Unfortunately for you, there is no work around to resolve this - as theft isn't a 'real' phone problem. The protection with phone management is just a corporate move to give companies more control over the devices that they purchase. So essentially, there is a much lower chance of them being stolen. Because once they are stolen, they're basically just local music players that cannot be utilized as a cellphone and will automatically wipe themselves clean on a timely basis (once they are reported as being stolen).

Thanks vor your reply,
i don´t think the phones was stolen because the selers of this phones is a company in Germany and they have more than 50 pieces of this phones, They wrote on the listing that the phones was used only for demostration purposes , so google will not remove the mdm lock if i contact them on the geving email adress?
If the device is truly legally sold, you need to get into contact with the seller to see if they can release it from their MDM server. If they cannot, only they can be the ones to contact Google. Google will NOT help you if you do not have the original purchase order from when it was MDM enrolled. Even if the user has a ton of devices for sale, that doesn't mean they were acquired legitimately. It's possible they were supposed to be destroyed and kept enrolled to prevent them from being resold, which is what sounds most likely to me. As someone who works in IT asset management, the ONLY reason we leave our devices DEP or MDM enrolled is to prevent someone from snagging it before we dispose of it.
