Hox international bricked during titanium backup of phone / usb not recognised/ - HTC One X

Hi Helpers,:fingers-crossed:
have HTC ONE X International / stock rom debloated by denkem // new layout// 22 GB space is full out of 24 gb.
i was using a debloated ROM from Denkem which i found thru xda [ i think ] installed months ago, my phone sometimes lags. will work very slow. if i restart it it will take 4-5 mins may be more. yesterday i decided i will try resurrection rom , so i started taking backup of few apps thru titanium Backup app inside phone memory. as phone was already working slow on top of that phone space further reduced due to backup of apps it became very slow lag of 20-30 seconds once i click anything. So i deleted music and pictures folder and made 2gb space.
Please note : i did not try flashing new recovery or ROM yet. For some reason i tot to restart my phone,.
SINCE then it doest boot.
When i try to do POWER + VOL down , sometimes it does open first screen where it shows LOCKED S-on status HBOOT 1.720000 READING SD CARD OR FAILED TO READ SD CARD .....that is all....it wont go any further. ALSO DURING THIS HBOOT screen if i try to detect it in laptop/ it says USB unrecognised / i tried installing htc driver again but NO meaning. Doest get detected in adb either. i have ADBTOOLKIT .
NOte: when connected to laptop it does show that continous RED light indicating charging.
{FYKI: i have KALI linux, but i am not a pro// incase anyone have a solution which involves linux}
WHAT TO DO NOW ??:cyclops:

Just a thought: Since it says that its unable to read the SD-card, could that indicate that the card is corrupted or broken in any way, and that's why it does not complete the startup/loading...? Have you tried to remove the sd card?

HTC one x doest have a sd card...its has inbuilt memory

No write access to SD

Hi!
I tried searching the forums for the problem but couldnt find anything related to mine!
I have a problem where the phone suddenly just says "No write access to file" when i try listening to stuff on spotify, take pictures etc... Yet i can access the SD on ASTRO.
Has anyone else noticed this one? Any tips? Rebooting the phone fixes the issue for a while.
Same issue here. I found in other android related forums a lot of people complaining about this as well - seams there's no solution yet (reboot helps in my case - format the card didn't). Some people reported that a change of the sdcard hasn't solved anything. I guess we have to replace the device.

Don't give up yet, if you are running a task killer, remove it and try without it.
As I said on the other thread, I removed it and I'm now testing it. Atleast now it seems to sync Spotify's offline playlists without errors..

I have no task killer running but still the above mentioned issue. I also removed the sd-card and put it back in several times. I cleaned carefully the contacts of the sdcard, removed ALL apps but it still happens every other day.
And no, the desire wasn't plugged into the pc via USB. m(
i had the similar kind of issue. when I switch on the phone from standby mode.. sometimes it says "cannot backup the phone data.. SD card not accessble". When I opened the Estronge File manager I can see no files under the SDcard..
This problem has started to me only after I have installed ebuddy and started using it. Then I have uninstalled the ebuddy and till now i did not get this problem again (3days tested after uninstall)
You can give a try by uninstall any recently installed apps.. my doubt is some apps are creating this issue on slow writting SD cards (my Sd card is Class 2)..

Been there, done that! *sigh* It happens also with no apps installed (plain stock)
Also just happened to me after installing a Touchdown update - camera was reporting no access to SD card and Astro (file navigator) was showing some weird behaviour (opening the 'download' folder took me back to the home screen)
A reboot appears to have solved it but a bit worrying
Not sure if this is 100% related, but I'll include it here. This didn't happen to me at the start but has started happening in the last few days.
I've had my phone set up to connect by default as a disk drive without asking me. Now when I connect to my computer, I get the message on my computer that there is something wrong with the drive and it needs to be scanned and corrected. I don't because I don't always trust Windows auto corrective measures, you can't always go back.
The problem really kicks in when I connect my Desire to the computer and it (the computer) says card needs to be formatted. As soon as I get this message, I know it's all over. I can't access the SD card on computer or from the phone. When I disconnect, the phone says the SD card is empty, and I get the small SD card with question mark up in the top right of the notification bar.
My system is running Win 7 x64.
I get the same problem every other day with the "cannot backup the phone data.. SD card not accessble". I also got an error message when trying to download an email attachment saying that there was no storage space but Astro shows around 6gb free on the sd!

you have another sdcard than the stock SanDisk 4GB card, I guess? If so, could you tell us what sdcard you are running?
I have had the same problem as reported above (backup error) recently. A reboot solves it, but not permantely.. (I also had a problem where the home screen froze, but the lockscreen worked fine. I guess it could be related but I don't know...)
It's a bit annoying with these kind of problems..

It just happen again after I replayed to a text messages..
I started my terminal emulator and checked if the sd card was still mounted (which it appeared to be). But noticed that it's set to remount as read only on errors (Not saying it's the problem, just that it may be the cause of the symptoms..)
Then I checked the rights (ls -l -d /sdcard) It was set to ---rwxr-x (owner: system, group: sdcard_rw) = Owner has no rights, group has full right and others read & execute only..
Also one thing I noticed was that the date was set to 1970-01-01 01:00 (aka start of "unix-time"). That can happen, but it still seemed a bit strange..
BUT: Apparently, that is the way it's "supposed to be", as after a reboot it says the same..
This was just an update on my experience with this error, and what I've tried (so far)..
Stock Rom and card and it is happening to me periodically.

Update: A working solution?
I read on another forum where they (Vodaphone actually) recommended that you reformat the card if you have this sort of problems... So I thought: What a heck.. It can't become worse..
These is the steps that I did (pretty straightforward..) and it works (for about two days now without any big problems..)
Backup the card
You probably don't want to do that using Windows... (You can download free Linux Live-CDs from Ubuntu.com or other places)
Why?? For me, and I don't doubt you may encounter something similar, Windows wanted to reformat the SD Card before it mounted it (DON'T do that if you want to backup your files [and I'm not sure on what the phone would think about that]).
I guess it could work Fine in Mac OS X (but I haven't tested..)
Reboot the phone (mine had trouble recognizing the card after I had disconnected it from the computer)
Go to Settings > SD and phone memory (* ) >Unmount SD Card > Format SD card
Reboot again (not shure if it's needed but just to be sure)
Connect to the computer and put your data back on (be careful, the best is perhaps to only transfer "your stuff" and not replace any files that already are on the card). AND BEFORE you pull out the cable, make sure you unmount the card from your computer!!!!
Done!
(* Translated from Swedish, don't know what it says exactly in English.. )
If you need directions for how to use Linux for this, feel free to contact me..
Try doing a google search for h2testw its a bit of software that can be downloaded that test SD cards and removable drives. I recently had a problem with a new card ran that and it told me that the card had a problem, I sent it back and got a new card and don't have any problems now although they were different to what you were experiencing.
I get the same issue about once enery couple of days. I'm first alerted to it when I get a notification saying the automatic backup has failed, then no writes are allowed to the SD card. It's solved temporarily by rebooting.
Phone is stock, Orange ROM, stock 4Gb card. I use HTC sync and often use the phone in disk drive mode.
Simple damaged SD card...

All my issues disappeared after i removed the task killer.
Just today, I've started getting issues. It *only* happens when I try to open Spotify. It was working fine this morning on my way to work, but now every time I open the app, the SD card gets mounted as read only. I have used Quick App Clean Cache, and wiped the cache within Spotify itself. Rebooted, powered off, removed and reinserted SD card, and nothing fixes it. ****ing annoyed and pissed off that this keeps happening.

Error mounting SD Card

Hello. I have done hours of searching for this problem I now have with my Desire HD and haven't found anything similar.
What happened:
I was running a MIUI ROM and experienced poor signal, noticed my Radio was a different version to the one recommended for that ROM. So I checked my phone was ENG S-OFF (yes) and flashed the recommended Radio.
Since that point the phone worked, I did a full wipe to install the newer version of the MIUI ROM and that's when Clockwork Recovery said it was unable to mount the sdcard.
I tried booting the phone with its stock ROM, and it's as if the SD card doesn't exist, if I plug the sd card directly into my computer it works fine, but ANY sd card plugged into my phone does not recognise it.
Since then I have reflashed a few different radios but still the phone does not recognise the SD card and I have lost root access. Phone is still ENG S-OFF.
Can someone help?
Thanks.
I would first suggest to put the SD card in your pc and attempt a format. Many problems can be solved that way. If not, try another SD card. If that doesn't work the phone may be broken and you may have to get it repaired. But let's wait and see what others think about this too.
I would suggest you to try inserting-ejecting the card multiple times into the phone socket. It is clearly the socket flawed. It happens on most of the phones I guess, even in my old SE W580. Try inserting-ejecting multiple times. If this would not work, you have to get your phone repaired, since it isn't likely to be a software side problem.
Hello thanks for your responses.
I have found a pattern between the sd card not being recognised and HBOOT.
For whatever reason, my phone will not boot directly to recovery (POWER + VOL-UP) - I get 3 vibrate pulses and the orange light flashes forever - instead I have to boot to HBOOT (POWER + VOL-DOWN) first and then select recovery from there. Whilst booting HBOOT, it checks the SD card for 5 different files, of which none exist - think something like PD98DIAG.ZIP etc. And once this process has been done, the SD card is not "seen" by anything else (recovery or ROMs).
However, once in recovery, if I reboot the phone directly into recovery from there (reboot recovery), the SD card is readable and usable.
Very bizarre!

[cyanogenmod 7.1] Serious problem with usb transfer - it goes crash

Hello everyone!
I have rooted HTC Wildfire with cyanogenmod 7.1.
When I plug it in PC via USB everything seems to be ok.
Then I copy some files >5MB to the sd card.
At the begining transfer looks good, however after 10s transfer stoped.
USB connection is lost and the problem appears every time I try to copy files on my SD Card.
If I try to do it by Remote Deskotp via Wi-Fi everything is ok even with large files.
If I try to do it in Recovery mode the speed is very low (about 1,5MB/s) however it works.
I also checked today CN 7.0 and last NIGHTLY - the same issue.
The second issue appears rarely. After lost usb connection my phone gets freeze and I have to pull my battery out and reset it
I have searched all the Internet and nobody has problem with lost connection on Wildfire. Everyone has problem with extremly low transfer speed via USB...
But I cannot copy files on my SD card through USB
Please help me
I also have the same problem with CM 7.1 Stable. Connect a USB, computer detects it and after that I disconnected. In my case, does not block my phone.
Is there a solution for this problem?

OK, I have KERNEL: 2.6.35.14-nFinity.
Can you tell me which kernel helped you with the problem?
The same as yours...the usb connectivity for me works... have you tried to flash another rom?

I have checked CN 7.0, CN 7.1 and NIGHTLY full-239 - the same issue.
Now I'm using nightly full-239.
There must be problem with writing on SD card. Few houres ago I took 2 pictures and I got a message: SD disconnected.
Ofcourse capture pictures had not been saved and I had not have access to SD card.
After that I rebooted my phone and took more then 10 pictures and everything was OK...
SD is brand-new and on Android 2.2 with sense everything worked.
When I reading anything from SD card there is no errors. They appears during writing.
Backup your SD data somewhere, perform a full format (Not a quick format), and try again. Also, are you using any A2SD scripts/apps?
Do you mean full format of SD card? I think I have tried to do sth like that...
I have only quick office on SD card however before I have done it the issue has also performed.
Then I guess you have to for elimination of options. There can be only two cases - Bad SDCard or ROM issues. While I personally don't think it is a ROM issue (I use CM7 myself, and transfer stuff to my phone over USB on almost a daily basis), you can try going back to the stock ROM to check if the issue persists. Alternately, try borrowing an SDcard from somewhere else(If you don't have a spare), and check again (Preferably, after reflashing the ROM)
I have taken some trials and here are the results. If you don't have time read my summary please.
I change my max mhz (from 691) to 576 and then:
1) pull out my "bad" 8GB SD and insert my old 4GB SD
(reboot caused by taking out/in SD)
-I copied more then 800MB on it with no problems....
2) Insert again "bad" 8GB SD (no reboot)
- copied more then 500MB with no problems...
So I have changed my max mhz to 691
3) the same sd
- copied 800MB and everything seemed to be OK, however my phone got freeze. Reboot necessary by pulling the battery out.
-copied once again 800MB music - THE SAME EFFECT
As previously, the home button was able to back to home screen
and after disconnect usb cable there was information about it in upper bar.
So it wasn't full freeze however reboot necessary by pulling the battery out.
4) Back to 576 Mhz with no reboot
-Unfortunately point 3) and battery reboot
5) Correct reboot
-as above then reboot caused by taking out/in SD.... (?)
6) Thanks to reboot caused by taking out/in SD file transfer at 576Mhz was completed and phone did not get freeze...
7) Changed to 691Mhz, in/out SD - without 'auto' reboot...
file transfer completed without getting freeze !
SUMMARY:
SD card is good - Brand-new, micro sd Sandisk 8GB SDHC
When I take out/in my SD card it may cause reboot.
Thanks to taking out/in both at 576MHz and 691Mhz file transfer via USB works correctly and phone don't get freeze.
Transfer speed is ~2,5MB/s in all causes.
There was also no problem on the stock ROM (android 2.2.3 with Sense)
I really do not understand it. Can anybody explain me what the matter is?
To my mind it is not normal way to complete transfer with a good result...
I can add that my min frequency is all the time 352MHz..

DHD keeps rebooting when sd inserted with specific apps, strange

hey guys, sorry to be trouble but frankly im just fed up, tried and searched everywhere, i have dhd with ARHD latest installed just the basic new rom by mike, lately ive been experiencing my phone rebooting everytime the apps load from the sd card, it just continuously reboots, i take sd card out and its all fine, tried many other cards and have the same issue, so somewhere someone said its because theres alot of apps on the sd card and the firmware or htc cant handle it so it shuts the phone down by doing a reboot, i currently have 123 apps on my sd card in the android secure folder with a total size of 1.41gb...i have about 60 apps on the desire hd internal storage, i have a 32 gb card, plenty of space in the card itself, heres the wierd bit, i delete a few apps from the android secure folder and the phone starts loading the apps perfectly and doesnt go into a reboot, however the problem comes back if i download new apps, please has anyone got an idea whats going on, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt, then also it would randomly start saying sd ard unexpectedly removed, although thats only happened once so to be dafe i just took that card out and replaced it since i had another 32 gb lying about, i guess the real problem is the reboot....
ohh to make it more frustrating, i reflashed, clear memory, cache and everything before reflashing ARHD again...started with a few apps, lasted about 4 days then downloaded a little more and then woke up one day a week later, tried restarting my phone and there it goes again, constant reboots with sd card, the apps load, screen freezes and waaala reboot...
im desperate...had this phone over a year and now its just acting up when lots of apps are on there...
any help would be appreciated...
So no ideas then anyone lol...
It's a notorious issue with the dhd on gingerbread (revolution). I encountered it recently when sense kept restarting on my phone every five minutes after I moved too many apps to my sd card (even though most were frozen and the sd is class 10). After I made sure I had backups, I uninstalled a lot of apps from the sd card and everything is fine. Either try and uninstall some apps you aren't using or upgrade to icecoldsandwich.
Or the other option is to make a second partition on your sd card (backup first) using ext4 (use minitools), then use the app link2sd.
Link2sd app worked GREAT for me!
I can confirm this. If you put too many apps on SD card, it just reboots. Drove me crazy while I used stock ROM.
Here's some super duper tricks guys....Enjoy!!!

Hey,there's a cool way to get it going even if there are ton's of apps in SDcard.try this simple trick(Works for me with 735 apps on a 32GBcard) :
1.Power off the phone by holding the power button for some time if the phone keep rebooting without any stop.
2.Keep it cool for 3-4 mins.
3.Power it on again.
4.Then when the launcher starts, goto 'settings' fast.
5.Then quickly goto the storage>Unmount SD card.
6.Then after the USB storage scanning is finished and all apps in phone memory are granted their requested permissions(just for rooted device),mount the SD card...
7.This time the reboot won't occur until you power it off and power it on again...
HAPPY TWEAKING!!!
Here's another trick too... :
1.Power off the phone by holding the power button for some time if the phone keep rebooting without any stop.
2.Keep it cool for 3-4 mins.
3.Power it on again.
4.This time, just after the launcher start, plug in the USB cable and connect it to the computer in MTP mode.
5.When the SD card scanning just stops, plug the usb cable out(this'll give you a max of 1min to do it).
6.A second wave of Media Scanning occurs.
7.but this time,it won't even dare to touch your phone...
"Nothing is Impossible" :victory:
The final trick(Trick 3):
1..Power off the phone by holding the power button for some time if the phone keep rebooting without any stop.
2.Take the SD card out.
3.Power it on again.
4.After booting and media scanning finished, put the SD card back in.
5.mount it in settings>storage>mount SD card.
6.Wait till the media scanning ends.
7.Now you're ready to go....
"Never Give UP on Anything" :highfive:
hey guys, just don't let the tech rule you.Rule the tech.these are just basics...Anyone who got to play with a smartphone for a long time can figure it out....Just tweak your brain!!!! Anyway Cheers bye now.... Hit thanks if I helped you.... :victory:

[Q] GT-I9195 Hard Brick, need help

Hi everyone...i' ve bricked my lte and i need some help...
I transferred some photos from device memory to sd card and then some songs that were there started to have ''unsual'' capacity about 2gb or 3gb and the song names where changed in symbols.
Through restarting the phone about 2 or 3 times the rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini/development/rom-t3030976) started to crash.
In the sd was another custom rom (CarbonRom) so i decided to flash it. When i tried to install the rom zip file, after deleting everything from device memory, couldn't restore anything from sd card.
My problem is that i have no rom in device memory, my device can't be indentified from usb connection (no ODIN connection) and my sd card too.
Sd card when was connected with laptop via usb adaptor for first time, a message appeared and sd needed formatting and i couldn't access it. I tried to find a solution as far as mtp protocol is concerned but with no success.
Is there any way that i can fix it? Thanks in advance...
Can you access download mode ? Remove battery, wait 10 sec, put it back on and press-hold volume down + home and power keys @ same time.
If u get a screen where it says press vol up to continue just do that. Using Odin flash a stock firmware. You can download stock firmware from sammobile.com.
Odin connection made! New cell back in my hands! Thank you!
