[Q] GT-I9195 Hard Brick, need help - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone...i' ve bricked my lte and i need some help...
I transferred some photos from device memory to sd card and then some songs that were there started to have ''unsual'' capacity about 2gb or 3gb and the song names where changed in symbols.
Through restarting the phone about 2 or 3 times the rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini/development/rom-t3030976) started to crash.
In the sd was another custom rom (CarbonRom) so i decided to flash it. When i tried to install the rom zip file, after deleting everything from device memory, couldn't restore anything from sd card.
My problem is that i have no rom in device memory, my device can't be indentified from usb connection (no ODIN connection) and my sd card too.
Sd card when was connected with laptop via usb adaptor for first time, a message appeared and sd needed formatting and i couldn't access it. I tried to find a solution as far as mtp protocol is concerned but with no success.
Is there any way that i can fix it? Thanks in advance...

Can you access download mode ? Remove battery, wait 10 sec, put it back on and press-hold volume down + home and power keys @ same time.
If u get a screen where it says press vol up to continue just do that. Using Odin flash a stock firmware. You can download stock firmware from sammobile.com.

Odin connection made! New cell back in my hands! Thank you!

[cyanogenmod 7.1] Serious problem with usb transfer - it goes crash

Hello everyone!
I have rooted HTC Wildfire with cyanogenmod 7.1.
When I plug it in PC via USB everything seems to be ok.
Then I copy some files >5MB to the sd card.
At the begining transfer looks good, however after 10s transfer stoped.
USB connection is lost and the problem appears every time I try to copy files on my SD Card.
If I try to do it by Remote Deskotp via Wi-Fi everything is ok even with large files.
If I try to do it in Recovery mode the speed is very low (about 1,5MB/s) however it works.
I also checked today CN 7.0 and last NIGHTLY - the same issue.
The second issue appears rarely. After lost usb connection my phone gets freeze and I have to pull my battery out and reset it
I have searched all the Internet and nobody has problem with lost connection on Wildfire. Everyone has problem with extremly low transfer speed via USB...
But I cannot copy files on my SD card through USB
Please help me
I also have the same problem with CM 7.1 Stable. Connect a USB, computer detects it and after that I disconnected. In my case, does not block my phone.
Is there a solution for this problem?

OK, I have KERNEL: 2.6.35.14-nFinity.
Can you tell me which kernel helped you with the problem?
The same as yours...the usb connectivity for me works... have you tried to flash another rom?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
I have checked CN 7.0, CN 7.1 and NIGHTLY full-239 - the same issue.
Now I'm using nightly full-239.
There must be problem with writing on SD card. Few houres ago I took 2 pictures and I got a message: SD disconnected.
Ofcourse capture pictures had not been saved and I had not have access to SD card.
After that I rebooted my phone and took more then 10 pictures and everything was OK...
SD is brand-new and on Android 2.2 with sense everything worked.
When I reading anything from SD card there is no errors. They appears during writing.
Backup your SD data somewhere, perform a full format (Not a quick format), and try again. Also, are you using any A2SD scripts/apps?
Do you mean full format of SD card? I think I have tried to do sth like that...
I have only quick office on SD card however before I have done it the issue has also performed.
Then I guess you have to for elimination of options. There can be only two cases - Bad SDCard or ROM issues. While I personally don't think it is a ROM issue (I use CM7 myself, and transfer stuff to my phone over USB on almost a daily basis), you can try going back to the stock ROM to check if the issue persists. Alternately, try borrowing an SDcard from somewhere else(If you don't have a spare), and check again (Preferably, after reflashing the ROM)
I have taken some trials and here are the results. If you don't have time read my summary please.
I change my max mhz (from 691) to 576 and then:
1) pull out my "bad" 8GB SD and insert my old 4GB SD
(reboot caused by taking out/in SD)
-I copied more then 800MB on it with no problems....
2) Insert again "bad" 8GB SD (no reboot)
- copied more then 500MB with no problems...
So I have changed my max mhz to 691
3) the same sd
- copied 800MB and everything seemed to be OK, however my phone got freeze. Reboot necessary by pulling the battery out.
-copied once again 800MB music - THE SAME EFFECT
As previously, the home button was able to back to home screen
and after disconnect usb cable there was information about it in upper bar.
So it wasn't full freeze however reboot necessary by pulling the battery out.
4) Back to 576 Mhz with no reboot
-Unfortunately point 3) and battery reboot
5) Correct reboot
-as above then reboot caused by taking out/in SD.... (?)
6) Thanks to reboot caused by taking out/in SD file transfer at 576Mhz was completed and phone did not get freeze...
7) Changed to 691Mhz, in/out SD - without 'auto' reboot...
file transfer completed without getting freeze !
SUMMARY:
SD card is good - Brand-new, micro sd Sandisk 8GB SDHC
When I take out/in my SD card it may cause reboot.
Thanks to taking out/in both at 576MHz and 691Mhz file transfer via USB works correctly and phone don't get freeze.
Transfer speed is ~2,5MB/s in all causes.
There was also no problem on the stock ROM (android 2.2.3 with Sense)
I really do not understand it. Can anybody explain me what the matter is?
To my mind it is not normal way to complete transfer with a good result...
I can add that my min frequency is all the time 352MHz..

[Q] USB and SD not recognized

Need a way to access internal memory so I can fix my usb or sd card see following for information:
Short Version:
USB wont work and SD card wont work so I cannot use the following method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695243
Long Version:
So right after i had backed up my rom i did a wipe, then the phone stopped recognizing my sd card. I took it to Sprint they couldn't figure it out, so i was stuck in Bootloader. yesterday i did a hard reset and wa-la i can now use my phone ...sorta. It will turn on I can access everything, but it freezes up and shuts off after 40 seconds (i got it to stay for 2mins one time) also it still will not recognize my sd card. I tried other cards still no luck and I know my card works because I can use it in my laptop. So i did a little searching on xda and found a fix, but i cant do the fix unless i plug my phone into the laptop and run a cmd prompt well now here is the other problem my computer sees the phone (listed as My HTC) but my phone wont recognize that it is plugged in. It will charge when it is shut off thats about it. Well back to xda and there is a fix for the usb, but.... I need my phone to recognize my sd card because the files will be on it. In short to fix my sd card i need usb and to fix the usb i need my card I am stuck in a horrible loop, so what I need is a way to access my phones internal memory so I can install the usb files on it so that i can fix usb then my card, then recover my rom.
Thanks to wall who help or at least try
Im not totally sure if this will help, but i know you can mount the sd card as usb storage in Amon_Ra and also in settings under "storage" or so i believe there are settings for mounting and unmounting the Micro Sdcard check those, it should be mounted in the settings for your phone to see it. hope i helped
I just had this exact same problem. Nandroid, wipe, flash, then stuck in bootloader spent two days trying fixes, unroot, root, and,had to turn it in. Luckily best buy has an awesome warranty.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
thanks all... ended up replacing my phone, but if anyone ever finds a way to fix it let me know! Thanks again
I was really hoping that this thread would not dead-end. I've got what sounds like a similar issue...in addition to not being able to reformat my SD card (in Windows or in Android) due to it being detected as write-protected, but it's not write protected.
I'm really anxious to try the aforementioned thread to fix USB and SD, but I can't detect, mount, or format my SD card. Am I screwed?
*EDIT* Fixed the write-protection issue...working on the rest now.
*EDIT* Still can't format card through Android. Is there an ADB or fastboot command to format the SD card?

Samsung Galaxy S i9000 internal sd card not working and touchscreen not responding

Hi. I have a Samsung galaxy S i9000 running a Jellybean 4.1 custom ROM. androidadvices. com/ update-galaxy-gt-i9000-stable-jellybean-411-firmware/#.UDJOV91mT9d
Everything's working fine until today when my laptop (Win7 OS) froze up while I was formatting the internal sd card of my phone.I restarted the laptop and phone and the internal sd card cannot be detected by either device anymore.
I tried to format the sd card multiple times to no avail. I tried to flash stock GB ROM. ODIN can detect the phone but cannot complete the process. It fails on "Setting Up Connection".
Up to the above process I was able to use my phone (it turns itself on, just can't use internal sd card). However, I made a stupid mistake of doing factory reset, cache wipe, and dalvik cache to reflash the JB ROM in hopes that it will fix it. Now, my phone is stuck on the Welcome screen (one with Choose Language and Start to setup) but the touchscreen isn't working so I can't select Start. The buttons on either side of the center button works, though. Only the touchscreen function is not working.
Now obviously, USB Debugging is not set up on my phone so I can't do a lot. My first question is: Is there a way to setup USB Debugging using ADB or from Recovery?
Additional info:
Recovery and Download mode are both working, although like I mentioned above, I cant reflash stock ROM because of no usb debugging and it fails in Odin. File Manager can be accessed from Recovery but it has no internal sd card directory. External sd card is ok, though, as well as the system files. But cannot install from internal sd card (obviously), cannot format sdcard, or do anything that has something to do with sdcard. It gives an error "E:\ can't mount sdcard"
When I connect the phone to the computer via USB, the phone "knows" that it is connected because the notification beep sounds and on Computer, it shows a new drive name (F but it says "Please Insert a disk into Removable Disk F.", which I believe, means it can detect it but cannot mount the storage.
I can also use adb.
So my questions are:
-How do I get the touchscreen functionality back?
-How can I enable my internal sd card to be mounted on the phone again?
-(same as above) How do I enable USB Debugging from adb or recovery?
I know I have a lot of issues on my phone but I would really appreciate it if you can help me. Thank you.
Did you find a solution?

[q] brİcked!! Need help

I was using unofficial rom. I was trying to expand ram using external card. Everything was ok. Suddenly my screen frozen and I unplugged charger and battery.

When I connect my phone to a win7 64 bit It connects via Qualcomm HS driver.
I don't think my phone is fully dead.
Can anyone help me to solve this issue?
I have searched on this issue. Results are for htc phones or the other ones. No help for i8050.
I have win8 64 bit and Ubuntu installed on my pc.

Can you still access CWM recovery? If so, follow these steps:
First, make sure you got the ROM and the corresponding Gapps on the External SD card. If not, transfer them on your External SD Card somehow (via a card reader, for example). You're gonna need them later. If you already have a custom ROM that you like and it's on your external memory, then you can just skip this step and go forward.
After that, enter CWM and:
select "wipe data / factory reset"
go to "mounts & storage" and format /system. This is extremely important!
under the same menu, format /sdcard (be careful NOT to format /external_sd by mistake)
install the ROM (from the external sd)
install the corresponding Gapps for your ROM (from the external sd)
reboot your phone
Please, note that every step of this tutorial is mandatory!

I have tryed all.
The phone is in download mode but nothing on thescreen. Because all hidden system partitions such as boot partition is wiped by Swapper2.
It looks like a computer with corrupted bios.
QPST may be helpfull to solve this issue. It can reprogram these partitions with required xml files. But I dont know where to get these files. QPST comes with some xmls but I dont know which one to use.It also ask for boot image and phone image.

[Q] BOOTLOOP and sd card not mounted :(

so I got in to this weird situation
where I can only boot in to rom If i connect usb to power or pc else it bootloop(infinite)
I tried to boot up by connecting usb to pc and once booted up if i remove the usb anytime it goes in to bootloop again
and if i try the same with power adapter it works . so its the only way to boot and work with the phone
I tried changing other stock roms through bootloader . No luck
I thought I should try some custom roms
well theres another problem ~sigh~
sd card doesnt show up in recovery or inside stock rom (I cannot flash custom roms )it says sd card not mounted (works with card reader and formatted in pc ,tried other sd cards still no luck)
But i can access it from bootloader (flashed stock roms in bootloader)
All i can do is flash stock roms in bootloader and and use 150mb internal memory (btw only 20mb is uasble which is pretty much useless)
fastboot works.
Is there anything I can do or just throw this phone away ?
~bump
