[Theme] SkyTech by Prash (RC33 1.42)

My second G1 theme, first to be posted. This one just started because I liked the icons a lot. Just wanted to see how well they look in a theme
Still going through all the tiny little images I have to mess with. Just adding some icons and mostly all of the notifications are complete. Kept the default notification images, but changed the color to match.
Name: SkyTech (will be for RC33 1.42, since I really haven't checked out how to convert for others)
Wallpapers: Based off Simply Orange by Jk2 and Ultra Ordinary by pannpann on Deviantart.
IconSet: Sky Technology ProReD by BloodyXu (Edited orange)
Status: 100% done.

Looks very nice. Black and red goes great together.

Well, not too long after I posted this, I found SleekDroid theme by crys|s, which is using the same Icon Set (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3425909 ) so I may abandon the project out of courtesy.
I even commented on that theme that I had found the icons as well, but I suppose it slipped my mind when I made this quickly. Damn.

No offense to crys|s, just my personal opinion.. I like where you are going with this theme more then that of SleekDroid theme.. I don't think it is horrible to have the same icon set with a different direction.

Feel free to do whatever you want prash, even if I didn't want you to continue there isn't any REAL action I could take against you to stop you.... unless I decided to do something crazy like, oh I dunno, get your IP and find your personal information and leave you angry messages. I'm not that kind of person though, I'm much nicer.

Haha crys|s, thanks..Coming from theme making on other devices, I just figured not everyone would be too happy seeing stuff they used on other themes, so I was going to discontinue it if you had an issue with it.
Alright so its back on track then I'll work on it some more when I get a chance today. Screenshots coming up.

Battery'Wifi etc...need work and the top bar is a bit Orange not Red,other than that it's a great rip off Oops...lol... sorry great theme.

I knew it would only be a matter of time until prash started messing with the G1 as he was phenomenal with the sidekick, great work and thanks.

Since a lot of people were getting distracted with the EXPLOSION of orange in the original screenshots due to my choice in wallpaper, I added the following screenshot, showing what the theme looks like with any other wallpaper you may have. Still orange but not so much that it scares you from the theme itself.
Still looks decent on different wallpapers.

Wow thanks xFOCUSEDx for sharing those walls, I just tried them out and they both look really great. I especially love the black skytech one. Great job :]
If you really want to match the orange color on the middle part of the first one, try a hue/saturation filter set to 'colorize' at 20 hue 100 saturation..thats what I used for most of the orange on then initial theme. I tried it, and it gave me some pretty good results.

No wonder the icons are so over saturated, hurts to look at. It's not bad though.
Here's a quick pointer, instead of over saturating the entire image to make just the red parts orange, try selecting the red parts with the polygon selection tool and then using the hue/saturation adjustment.

Yeah, I meant to run the hue/sat on the middle part, I should have been more clear on that, thanks Crys.
Also if you set the mode of the hue/sat layer to multiply or any of the others, it gives you some really cool effects as well.

The red version was never available for download, it was a rough draft that I abandoned when I found out someone else was using the red icons in their theme. I'm not sure if I'll be porting this theme over to newer roms but who knows I tend to play around with icons and themes all the time.

Looks real nice mate. If you're asking for an opinion, I always think that the settings and extended power menus look better when rendered with the theme colour instead of multi coloured.

Yep, I already done half of them in the theme color. It'll be added to the next release.

Testing at Jim´s v6.3 and working perfectly, when you release the darker version I´ll go for it, the combination black-gold should be very interesting. Do you plan to theme dialer, menu or anything else?. Keep the good work

Great theme, properly themed and well made
When you release a darker version, that'll be the one for me, as i'm not a huge fan of the bright yellow-gold stuff. But still, epic!

Really, really nice theme!
I love the fact that its light-colored, getting a bit tired of all those very similar looking, darkish blue/green on black themes, this one is very refreshing and comes close to the look I was after.
To break it down:
- Notification bar: love it! but battery icon (text+gauge) could have a bit more contrast for readability, and some icons are still blue.
- Settings menu: Would be better if the grey blocks under the icons were darker; and checkmarks are still blue would be nicer in the theme-orange color.

i know about all the issues (checkboxes etc.). I'm redoing it from my previous theme and it's still around 80% done, getting rid of all the blue is hard ;p
There'll be 2 versions lighter and darker, I think that within a day or two I'll post them both.

I've just installed the darker version and is really nice
The battery is a little hard to read(the fonts used for charging are better, more visible) and I think the settings menu would look better if you'd use icons like those for the extended power menu.
Can't wait to see all the icons for the notification bar and the themed dialer

I've been extremely busy lately so that's why I haven't done anything.

Yay thanks for update
Even though its taking a little time, this theme (both of them!) is very much worth the wait. Both the light and dark versions are, to me, some of the best themes ive seen for the SGS.

[Q] Tile Accent Theme Color?!

Hello all,
Out of curiosity I wanted to know what accent theme color you all prefer for your device, and how often you switch (if you switch it at all) your accent theme color. Me, personally, I enjoy having the green accent theme color enabled all the time. I've switched it a few times, but I find myself reverting back to the green accent theme color for some reason. I dislike the brown accent theme color the most.

WP7 doesn't really have a color I would stay with. But I have mostly used red. Right now I'm using the ordinary blue on black. I certainly hope MS will add a boat load of color and theme options in an update. Would love to see silver tiles on white, black tiles on lite charcoal, white tiles on black and want some of those yellow tiles.

I use black on black or black on white. On my favorite teams match days I switch to navy blue on black.

I switch many times to use all colors, but mostly I use light blue, lime and green, cause Omnia7 screen simple supports more pixels with those colors (text more readable). I wish MS would add more colors to every phone. I'm wondering why some phone models/manufacturers has different colors as my phone bought in Finland. Weren't WP7 supposed to be same in every manufacturer?

They are the same. The only way currently to get other colors is by the Chevron unlocker.

Black on black must look slick. The words just float, correct? Do you have a picture?

I use brown on black

I've been staying mostly with Orange on Dark. But my other standard ones are: Blue/Dark, Green/Dark, Green or Brown/Light.
And put me down as well for better colours at some point. I find right now, 80% of them are very feminine (both magenta and pink?? Come on...)

The problem with Black on Black is the accent text.
The tiles look great, but any accent text becomes unreadable.
I'd post a pic, but I don't know how to do a screen capture on my Focus.

I typically go with one of my modified greens or blues (there a little bit darker). I also have a grayish-blue that I switch to. Black on black isn't as good as it sounds. It is novel, but not really that great after a few minutes.

Yeah, I had thought about that. A shame because an all black tile look would be awesome on the Focus (and great for an AMOLED phone's battery life). Wonder if MS / Chevron will find a way to split text accent color and tile accent color.

Wow, these both look great!

@ sure haven't yeah it's a bit odd...
to those who wanted to see black on black i attached a picture, though its blurry. also, i dont have a problem with black on black or black on white's accent text because so far as i can tell it only messes up three things: missed calls (can't see the detail or time), contact details on profile, and text message timestamps. I'm perfectly fine giving up those things for a slick looking Start screen and if i do need to see those things i can simply workaround it or change the accent, look at it and change the accent back. black on black is my daily theme and im damn happy with it

Well.. thanks to you! At least someone appreciates it. For some reasons it's the MonoChrome theme with the lowest rating. Not sure why, I thought blue was a popular color.

Well I have rated all of your themes 5/5. Really you worked hard. But today I may ask for a little request. Can you please make the navigation bar background black? I feel the navigation bar background is black which really looks great.
One more thing I have noticed is that the colors you used are likely dark, such dark blue, dark green. I am OK with the existing color but You can make the colors a little bit brighter, so it may help you get good rating.

Sorry, I am not sure which colors you'd like to have brighter. If you can post a screenshot I may look into that. If it won't take much effort I can change it. Consider that to change the colors in a monochromatic theme is quite a pain. You make a color brighter somewhere and then somewhere else something gets unreadable.
About the black navbars I did it on purpose to have them colored. The idea behind the MonoChrome themes was to use only one tint (although I may have slightly taken some licenses for the readability issues mentioned above). I may make a version with black navbars to download here in XDA, but right now I am very busy. I have to recompile (and fix) all my paid themes with Theme Creator 1.0.0 to go in the Sony Theme Portal.

I know changing color is huge work bcz unreadable issues are really irritating. I am OK with the existing color you used.
As you said you are busy so no problem take your time. But if possible and if you can afford your time then please do the favor for me, please make the MonoChrome Green and MonoChrome Gold in black navbars, if possible also add Xperia key home with the black navbars. Thanks.

I forgot to make a post in here, but aquifer went live last night!

Sunflower theme is live! Another inverted theme with yellow and brown. Let me know what you guys think, and any requests etc.

T-MOgenta is live! I'd love some feedback on this or my other themes, and I am open to theme requests.

Finally the Purple Nights theme is complete and published, including support for other DPI and screen resolutions in settings (settings > display > screen resolution). This theme has taken awhile to complete, I have been working on it since I got my V30, and I spent a few weeks on it for the v20 (it was never released) before that. The lower resolutions have to be manually resized and repatched, so it will take a while before I can get all my previous themes up to date with the resolution fixes since I basically have to recreate the theme 2 more times at lower sizes.

Glad to know it's working there too!

Great effort on the themes! I like the black and bright color schemes. I don't really like the keyboard however as it looks too skeumorphic for my tastes. However I use gboard so it's not a big deal.

I honestly use Gboard as well, the text correction is terrible on LG keyboard. Theming the keyboard is always the part I am conflicted with. LG makes it more difficult than it needs to be by trying the secondary symbols to the primary letter key, but they add a gray transparent tint to it.
I'm open to ideas if you have any with the keyboard, I'm glad you enjoy the themes!

Yea I made it black, its easier to read the secondary keys now.

The update to Green With Envy is live! Google hasn't updated the screen shots yet in the play store (should be live soon), but these are the new screens. I did fix the DPI issue, so resizing won't change your theme to orange.
