My second G1 theme, first to be posted. This one just started because I liked the icons a lot. Just wanted to see how well they look in a theme
Still going through all the tiny little images I have to mess with. Just adding some icons and mostly all of the notifications are complete. Kept the default notification images, but changed the color to match.
Name: SkyTech (will be for RC33 1.42, since I really haven't checked out how to convert for others)

Well, not too long after I posted this, I found SleekDroid theme by crys|s, which is using the same Icon Set (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3425909 ) so I may abandon the project out of courtesy.
I even commented on that theme that I had found the icons as well, but I suppose it slipped my mind when I made this quickly. Damn.

No offense to crys|s, just my personal opinion.. I like where you are going with this theme more then that of SleekDroid theme.. I don't think it is horrible to have the same icon set with a different direction.
Feel free to do whatever you want prash, even if I didn't want you to continue there isn't any REAL action I could take against you to stop you.... unless I decided to do something crazy like, oh I dunno, get your IP and find your personal information and leave you angry messages. I'm not that kind of person though, I'm much nicer.
Haha crys|s, thanks..Coming from theme making on other devices, I just figured not everyone would be too happy seeing stuff they used on other themes, so I was going to discontinue it if you had an issue with it.

Battery'Wifi etc...need work and the top bar is a bit Orange not Red,other than that it's a great rip off Oops...lol... sorry great theme.

Since a lot of people were getting distracted with the EXPLOSION of orange in the original screenshots due to my choice in wallpaper, I added the following screenshot, showing what the theme looks like with any other wallpaper you may have. Still orange but not so much that it scares you from the theme itself.
Still looks decent on different wallpapers.

If you really want to match the orange color on the middle part of the first one, try a hue/saturation filter set to 'colorize' at 20 hue 100 saturation..thats what I used for most of the orange on then initial theme. I tried it, and it gave me some pretty good results.

No wonder the icons are so over saturated, hurts to look at. It's not bad though.
Here's a quick pointer, instead of over saturating the entire image to make just the red parts orange, try selecting the red parts with the polygon selection tool and then using the hue/saturation adjustment.
Yeah, I meant to run the hue/sat on the middle part, I should have been more clear on that, thanks Crys.
Also if you set the mode of the hue/sat layer to multiply or any of the others, it gives you some really cool effects as well.

The red version was never available for download, it was a rough draft that I abandoned when I found out someone else was using the red icons in their theme. I'm not sure if I'll be porting this theme over to newer roms but who knows I tend to play around with icons and themes all the time.

For a while now I've been tinkering around with icons and wallpapers and stuff for Android and the G1/Dream, but I've never put it all together to make a theme of my own.. so I thought I'd change that. I'm calling this theme MonoChrome 1.0, and it is currently ADP1 and RC30 compatible.

1) Make sure you have JFv1.31 installed on your ADP1 or rooted RC30 G1 before you try to install this theme.
2) Download file from one of the above links.
3) Rename file to update.zip
4) Transfer file to the root catalog of your SD card.
5) Disconnect ExtUSB cable and shut phone down.
6) Press Home + Power to start the phone up in Recovery Mode/JFv1.31.
7) Once booted into JFv1.31 press Alt + S to install.
8) When install is complete press Home + Back to reboot.
9) Cross your fingers and wait. If all goes well Android ought to be up and running my theme within a minute.
This theme has been tested on two ADP1 phones without any issues, but I am NOT to be held responsible if your phone for some reason gets bricked in the process. Install at your own peril.

The Market icon, you mean? Yeah, I agree, the droid needs to be a few shades darker. I'll fix that later on tonight, or tomorrow.
Oh and thanks for the input, it's very valuable because you tend to stare yourself blind on your own theme.
No the market icon looks alright. I was talking about that white shade behind the icons at the bottom of the screen. I think it is a little to white. It looks perfect in the top picture but for some reason in the bottom it looks to white. I am not sure why since it is the same picture. You might not need to do anything to it. It just pulls my eyes off the icons into the negative space of the background.

Ah, now I get it. I could try to make the "dock" slightly darker. I'll try that, it's like a two minute job, tops.

How does this look? I decreased the luminance and added a bit more texture instead.
the darker "dock" looks a lot better imo. btw great looking theme. i was never too fond of all the other themes so this might be my first theme i install. also, not sure if you would be willing to or if anyone else agrees, since the theme is dark i think colored icons with the same black background you have now would look awesome.

The darker dock does look better, I'll stick with that one. As for your icon request, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Can you elaborate a bit?

Ah, I see. Well that's pretty nice actually, though bright colors are not for me; I tend to prefer the desaturated look. However, as soon as I release this theme people are free, encouraged even, to modify and improve on it as they see fit.

That's a good question. I am not sure, but I figure I will have to transfer all the custom png's from my ADP1 theme to the correct RC30 apk's. I might do that tomorrow if I feel up to it.

Oh, sweet! I did the port last night when I was so tired I didn't know what I was doing, so it's nice to hear it's working on RC30 too. Thanks for trying it out.

Hey Everyone,
Well i believe my FadetoBlue theme is all done. I think i will eventually tweak it a bit more. But for the most part it is done and i am getting bored with it, kind of. So a RockBand theme seemed to be the logical choice for me, i am pretty big fan of the Xbox 360 games, especially now that i own the Stage kit. what is more fun then having a bunch of friends over, filling the room with fog and lights, drinking and rocking out!
So i am moving on to the next theme, but after experiencing the 500+ files you have to change on a theme i wanted to get some ideas and a color scheme to follow before i start it.
So make some suggestions and if i like them, they will make it into the theme. The only thing i have done so far is a wallpaper and started a new update.zip for the theme.
So messing with RC33 and changed a few icons, what do you guys think?
The bass drum will display an up,down or up and down arrow for data transfer and The Signal stregth is shown by the amount of tuners on the bass. I am going to use the Mic for the battery. But wanted to get some feedback on what i have so far. Also the top bar is not staying that color.

I can take the icons off of this wallpaper, which i am thinking of doing. But the text "RockBand" is on the original file i found and will not be easily removed. I will post the original wall paper in the first post.
I am not liking this theme so far...can't get into it. but i updated the first post with some screens. Tell me what you think.

this is a theme that i am working on right now, and my first theme on android, still trying to decide what icons to use, using several from a variety of artists on deviant art, this isn't done yet but i figure if i can keep working as i am on it and don't get snagged on anything then it should be up soon. let me know if you know of any good icons to go with the theme, i'm liking black glossy images and and a little orange and green. the wallpaper is the alienware head and i can even post my splash screen if anyone would like a splash screen to go with the theme. i'm up fo r suggestions, right now i'm about half done with the system folder and gonna start framework-res.apk most likely mid day tomorrow pending how busy i am.
let me know what you think, keep in mind that i am currently just editing the FadetoBlue theme found HERE and that 90% of what i am doing was inspired by damnitpud, and made possible by stericson and jesusfreke. anything blue you see in these images will most likely be changed before release, unless i decide it looks good. let me know what you think. and if anyone knows what images to edit to change the glowing android i would love to make him a white alienhead.
open for any suggestions especially if you know of or have some icons to go with this.

EDIT: since the theme contest is underway, i might save this theme until it is "perfect" i want to enter the contest and i don't wanna release it before it is too soon, i will keep everyone posted on the whereabouts and possibly invite a few members for beta testing as i know i can't possibly find all the bugs on my two phones during daily usage

my suggestion would be to replace the android head on add menu tab with somethign that flows better. I like the background image, Maybe mod that a bit to fit down there.
That's already on my list, hoping also to do some xml edits cause the theme I'm using as the backbone to this one has some edits like the keygaurd screen says fadetoblue and I don't want my androidware theme to have some other name on it. At work now so I can't work on my theme but hopefully it'll look half as good on the phone as it does in my head

currently yes, that is because, as menttioned twice, i have used fade to blue as a back bone and am just editing the images to go with my theme idea, i have damnitpud's permission and have changed most of the icons for apps so far and will be working on things like status bar and such that all go in the framework-res.apk tomorrow

hey i think that it look like a very nice start.. i too got a theme and starting to develope it from there to my liking... I think that if you were to change the clock to be all black and gray instead of the black fade to blue... good start...
oops my bad...keep it up..
updated: i decided to go back to the original theme and edit it since i can't manage to edit the color on some of damnitpuds images, and so this should make it a little easier, i edited the status bar thanks to stericson and made it black, unfortunately it makes the clock invisible, doesn't bother me all that much, but it might bug some of you. i am maybe 1/4 of the way through the framework-res.apk which is where 90% of the images that need to be edited are. hope to have this ready to be submitted to the theme contest soon so i can get it to you guys, hope you like where it's at so far

Awesome, just installed it. Just want to point out some of the icons looks too light/bright almost cant really define what it is, also the pink on the status bar its too light almost blend in with the status bar, hurts my eyes a bit. Other than that its an amazing theme! Please fix this so i can have a new theme!
The icon packs are SUPPOSED to be light/bright and undefined I believe..check the Gaia2008 page on customize. Everything is made to be like that so I tried to match the status bar icons as well, its minimalistic. I like it I donno..and its blue and orange..no pink :]

The wallpapers are in the "Gaia-Wallpapers" folder inside the extra's zip (or they should be.. along with the "Gaia - Icons" folder)
If you want to save your picture gallery from loading all the icon images you can now also download the icon pack from the market and use it with BetterCut (much easier option In my opinion)

Yea actually the icons have grown on me... But i still have an issue (if u wanna call it that) with the status bar, if the icons at the status bar were a bit darker would b easier to see.. And im sorry about the pink comment, im color blind haha BTW it rocks, this is the second theme i can personally say its a keeper aside from BUUF.

As far as the other comments about the lightness of the top icons, I think I'll keep it as is.
Look at it from my point of view. Now when you look down at your phone you'll see the Time right away without anything else getting in your way at any screen on you're on. I like seeing the simpleness of it all.

Look at it from my point of view. Now when you look down at your phone you'll see the Time right away without anything else getting in your way at any screen on you're one. I like seeing the simpleness of it all.

Ghostbusters theme and wallpaper.
Feel free to browse my site while your getting the theme, it's all I ask for in return (even if you'll all probably hate it!).
What I have added:
Red ghostbusters battery - this goes from red (full) to very light red (empty) no bormal green to red as I felt the ghostbusters logo lost its charm green
Slimer for BT - Green is on, blue is active
A ghost trap for wifi. Beam moves up and down based on signal.
Proton pack for the launcher, with ghostbusters symbol
Ghostbusters logo for screen lock. Red is correct, and purple is incorrect.
I will update as and when I get time. Hope u all enjoy.
Black text is unreadable. Other than that great job!
Thanks, i was aware of the font issue just didn't have time to look into or even know how easy it was to change! I'll be taking another look tomorrow night.

You could probably just grab one of the theme that has the white clock and use that.
here are all the files you will need for the white text.
drop classes.dex in services.jar and the other 3 in framework-res.apk/res/layout

What's the general thought on the green to red ghostbusters battery?
Do you think it should go red to another colour like purple?
I'm not sure if the ghostbusters logo looks good green!

I'm liking this theme. What clear flip clock is that? The only one I can find is the one from "beautiful widgets" and the weather widget but none of them are clear.

It's weather widget. In the options choose download skin, the skin is called glass clock.

Not sure what you mean. If you mean the battery on the left, that's an app from the market.
Yea your right... after i sent the message i was thinking that..
as for the battery u have now in the notification bar i think either the logo should disappear as the % goes down cause right now i'm at 80% and i couldn't tell until i went to Settings<About Phone<Status
I was thinking may you can try to have something like the plsma or whatever was shot out of the proton pack and as the % goes down the line will go down..

The ghost does disappear!
It gets pailer until it's nearly all white.
I don't Know if it's me but i like to see a drastic change especially for the battery.....
but i do like the theme.
if no one else has this problem that i'll have to deal with it!
