Install instructions
Make sure you have JFv1.4x ADP1.1, RC30, RC33, ADP1.1h, RC8 or RC9 installed before you try to use this theme.
Download file from one of the above links.
Rename file to update.zip
Transfer file to the root catalog of your SD card.
Disconnect ExtUSB cable and shut phone down.
Press Home + Power to start the phone up in Recovery Mode/JFv1.4x.
Once booted into JFv1.4x press Alt + S to install.
When install is complete press Home + Back to reboot.
Cross your fingers and wait. If all goes well Android ought to be up and running my theme within a minute.
Notes: This theme has been tested on two JFv1.41/ADP1.1 phones, at least one RC30 and one RC33 G1 without any major issues, but I am NOT to be held responsible if your phone for some reason gets bricked in the process. ADP1.1h version also tested and confirmed working on one ADP1. RC8 and RC9 confirmed working.
Icons. Some of them are missing/"unskinned", I know. I left some of them out on purpose because I could not find any good icons for them and I was too sick of this theme to make my own.
If you want to improve/change this theme then by all means go ahead. There are lots of things that can be improved and if you want to have a go at it I won't mind, quite the opposite actually. Sharing is caring, right?
Special thanks goes out to doooshty and dom2684 who both helped me with beta testing and feedback and found a few bugs/errors prior to release.

Definitely. It's on the to-do list. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet though, but it's definitely gonna change.

Yeah, that's the problem. I have a hard time finding icons that would fit this theme. If you stumble over an icon pack that you think would fit the theme, please let me know.

Beautiful theme
I'm loving it, can't wait till its release. My ADP is going to rock this new theme with pride.

Idea for the tab:
If you've seen or played Silent Hill I'm sure you're well aware of the creature know as Pyramid Head. I think it would be awesome to take his head and make it the tab. Just a thought. Hell, it would be awesome if you could go from a cleaner theme and at a certain time have the whole thing fall apart into some nightmarish alternate theme. Long ways from that but fun to imagine, right?

Best theme preview I have seen yet.

I second that opinion. those icons are great! maybe add multiple wallpapers for the theme also? really sick of the retro-ish android's logo, bah! looks like a fat trash can with a face. getting REALLY OLD....

I'll include a wallpaper without the trashcan in my release It's a 30 second job to remove it, gotta love using layers in photoshop.

I will happily test this theme when it is ready (or almost) ready.

Sadly I don't think this can be done the right way. I was able to do the same thing with the status bar but it was a placebo effect. You'll be stuck with the same wallpaper. If anyone is willing to prove me wrong I'll be happy for it, as I got lots of ideas I would like to try but stopped due to this hurdle. Good luck in getting this to work.
P.S. the clock looks absolutely awesome.

Unfortunately you are absolutely correct. I'll just have to go for a sort of a dimmed status bar that'll look transparent but really isn't. Sigh. Why do you torment us like this, Android developers?
The clock does look good, and at least with that one we don't have to fake the transparency effect

I might do a bunch of status bars with different colors; one whiteish, one black, one red, one blue, one brown, etc. That way at least you could get the color of the status bar to decently match any wallpaper you might use. Of course that also means you would have to re-flash the phone every time you changed the wallpaper to something with a different general color.
Hum, I wonder, would it be possible to make a special update.zip containing only the framework apk? I mean, everything else ought to be left intact then, right? An install would be very speedy, just seconds, when all that is needed is an update of the framework. No apps, launcher etc to be reinstalled.
Thoughts?

You certainly can, the first themeing I did was replacing just the clock that way.

Yeah, I've done it with individual apps that way too, but never with the framework apk that is in a different folder than the apps for some reason. I thought it might be different with the framework because of that, but it really should not be. Good to know it's doable though, thanks for confirming!

Pretty cool idea, does this mean it wont show your service? wifi service, battery level etc? I wasn't sure if that was just a mockup you made in photoshop or it will really be that blank
I like the transparent grayscale idea though. looks promising!

Oh, all status bar icons and such will be there once it's done. Though preferably they will be redesigned to fit the glossy theme better than the default ones.

If you can realize this theme like the concept you showed, it will be a most impressive theme. Even the concept is absolutely beautiful.

If we can figure out how to get rid of the black bar at the top when we make transparent status bars this theme would be able to take advatage of it

O.k i have never tried the transparent bar but i think there is two one in drawable an drawable-land the one in drawable-land is black did you try making both of theme clear? Then again there is a lot of stuff thats in the .xml that might be stopping the process. I would ask the .xml doctor to see if thats the case.

I made this up with photoshop, but all of the files are packed and ready to go... this is just to show everyone my work.... my first attempt at installing the theme was unsuccessful, so i cant post an update as of yet (UPDATE coming real soon!!) Hope this is something that is likeable for any who was looking for red.

I got the theme past tmobile g1 screen, i attached the new screenshot to show a sample icon as well as the menu tab and clock for version 1. Continuing with the rest of the icons and files. Release is looking closer, well sooner

I created a mockup of what my version 2 of the red theme will look like, screenshot on page 2... if you check closely i resized the "Alarm Clock" image, this is as large as i can get the icons without exposing the square dimension limit, which would cut off the embroidery design around the icons... untill i find a new solution i can post the small icons and the slightly larger icons in 2 updates... depending on feedback

After many trials of finding a legitimate icon size, i finally found something that keeps the design around the button visible.. uintill i can figure out what looks better, but Version 2 will be coming SOON.. then more updates within the system icons and clocks etc... download and rename to update.zip, turn off phone, hold HOME + POWER and then Alt + S. Should have a red boot screen!! HAS BEEN TESTED BY ME

What I did:
Took the wallpaper from teknotiq's theme and added more red in it...
Changed every stock icon on RC33, as far as Alarm Clock - Youtube..
Added my custom menu tab, sorry thats not meant to be arrow... it wont switch and point down
Changed the status bar to have more red and black
What I could have done:
-light red icons
- clear center icons (red outlining)
- black outter, inner red glow icons
- different wallpaper (UPDATED)

im shooting for this week, for at least the initial drop, then more tweaks over the weekend... if i don't feel lazy ill try to drop numerous versions with of this theme with different clocks....
then later on i might switch up the icons, same look, but maybe the middle is cut out and clear, or the red would be a lighter red, or idk

yeah i read your disclaimer on your theme first and when i release it ill give you props for what i used.. i kno u dont care, but just respectful to put all parties involved on the update.zip
but yeah now i gotta resize the icons but everything else is coming together nicely for my original release... this week definitely!!! and if this nice long "Squall" of storm doesnt knock out my comcast n electricity then il get to work asap

[Theme] SkyTech by Prash (RC33 1.42)

My second G1 theme, first to be posted. This one just started because I liked the icons a lot. Just wanted to see how well they look in a theme
Still going through all the tiny little images I have to mess with. Just adding some icons and mostly all of the notifications are complete. Kept the default notification images, but changed the color to match.
Name: SkyTech (will be for RC33 1.42, since I really haven't checked out how to convert for others)

No offense to crys|s, just my personal opinion.. I like where you are going with this theme more then that of SleekDroid theme.. I don't think it is horrible to have the same icon set with a different direction.

Feel free to do whatever you want prash, even if I didn't want you to continue there isn't any REAL action I could take against you to stop you.... unless I decided to do something crazy like, oh I dunno, get your IP and find your personal information and leave you angry messages. I'm not that kind of person though, I'm much nicer.

Haha crys|s, thanks..Coming from theme making on other devices, I just figured not everyone would be too happy seeing stuff they used on other themes, so I was going to discontinue it if you had an issue with it.

Since a lot of people were getting distracted with the EXPLOSION of orange in the original screenshots due to my choice in wallpaper, I added the following screenshot, showing what the theme looks like with any other wallpaper you may have. Still orange but not so much that it scares you from the theme itself.
Still looks decent on different wallpapers.

If you really want to match the orange color on the middle part of the first one, try a hue/saturation filter set to 'colorize' at 20 hue 100 saturation..thats what I used for most of the orange on then initial theme. I tried it, and it gave me some pretty good results.

No wonder the icons are so over saturated, hurts to look at. It's not bad though.
Here's a quick pointer, instead of over saturating the entire image to make just the red parts orange, try selecting the red parts with the polygon selection tool and then using the hue/saturation adjustment.

Yeah, I meant to run the hue/sat on the middle part, I should have been more clear on that, thanks Crys.
Also if you set the mode of the hue/sat layer to multiply or any of the others, it gives you some really cool effects as well.

The red version was never available for download, it was a rough draft that I abandoned when I found out someone else was using the red icons in their theme. I'm not sure if I'll be porting this theme over to newer roms but who knows I tend to play around with icons and themes all the time.

My sister and roomate's wife extend their thanks. Its hard finding good themes for girls.

im fixin to release an update i found a problem with that one

its very nice...dont get me wrong...but my sister tells me that she is looking for something elegant...whimsical if you will...something that can remind her of those "green" toyota prius commercials if you know what im saying...modern maybe?
but this is nice too...it will def have an audience

funny how men usually assume that if it's pink or hello kitty women will like it (or that men won't). With that said, looks good, but are the screenshots anything to go by? because the pink looks kind of smeared, and I'm hoping it's just a compression artifact. I'll try this and see

Was not an assumption. This was to fulfill a woman's request.
And those are artifacts theme much better on phone.

yeah, i just saw that. I did notice one thing though, you seem to be missing a boot screen, all I get is a white screen at boot (i applied with no wipe on top of cm397)
take this as constructive criticism as that's the way i intend it. The pink coloring is fine, but it feels like you over-did it. Not everything has to be shaded pink, then it looks like you drowned your phone in cool-aid. It's nice to have the original look with some accents (like, coming from tehseano's theme, change only the buttons, progress bars, and only the green accented parts to pink)
Last, a problem i mentioned to tehseano but he never corrected. The app tray open/close arrow comes slightly off (1 pixel) when morphing from the open to the close one and viceversa. To fix it, just knock i pixel off the top from the down arrow and one pixel off the bottom of the up arrow (or the other way around, i dont remember))

Thanks for the heads up and ideas. I am going to post a boot image update. But a full update will be later. I will pass along the arrow info.

As beags stated this was a request that i got from someone and did it as they wanted it as for the boot screen it goin to be fixed asap the arrows will probably disappear shortly anyway as im am still goin to be changing some things and releasin new updates this was juts a first release

beagz n armyranger just wanna say i luv u guys work. im a big fan of the dark hero n now u have done it for the ladies. i luv it guys. hope u guys continue 2 spice it up.

Update Released With Fixed Boot

i have one request i would love to c some of the icons changed up. i was on the market hoping i would find a good icon pack but theres none out there.

i can help you change the icons if you want but alot of the times its just really time consuming so i dont bother with them

yeah i know it takes up time i only wanna change a few not 2 many. if u can help that would be great
