[Theme] MonoChrome 1.0 [ADP1/RC30]

Hey all.
For a while now I've been tinkering around with icons and wallpapers and stuff for Android and the G1/Dream, but I've never put it all together to make a theme of my own.. so I thought I'd change that. I'm calling this theme MonoChrome 1.0, and it is currently ADP1 and RC30 compatible.

Wanna try it out? Download links:

RC30: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H7JGM4T1 **Tested and confirmed working**
1) Make sure you have JFv1.31 installed on your ADP1 or rooted RC30 G1 before you try to install this theme.
2) Download file from one of the above links.
3) Rename file to update.zip
4) Transfer file to the root catalog of your SD card.
5) Disconnect ExtUSB cable and shut phone down.
6) Press Home + Power to start the phone up in Recovery Mode/JFv1.31.
7) Once booted into JFv1.31 press Alt + S to install.
8) When install is complete press Home + Back to reboot.
9) Cross your fingers and wait. If all goes well Android ought to be up and running my theme within a minute.
This theme has been tested on two ADP1 phones without any issues, but I am NOT to be held responsible if your phone for some reason gets bricked in the process. Install at your own peril.

Looks great I think. But on the second picture the "dock" looks a little to white to me.

The Market icon, you mean? Yeah, I agree, the droid needs to be a few shades darker. I'll fix that later on tonight, or tomorrow.
Oh and thanks for the input, it's very valuable because you tend to stare yourself blind on your own theme.

No the market icon looks alright. I was talking about that white shade behind the icons at the bottom of the screen. I think it is a little to white. It looks perfect in the top picture but for some reason in the bottom it looks to white. I am not sure why since it is the same picture. You might not need to do anything to it. It just pulls my eyes off the icons into the negative space of the background.

Ah, now I get it. I could try to make the "dock" slightly darker. I'll try that, it's like a two minute job, tops.

How does this look? I decreased the luminance and added a bit more texture instead.

the darker "dock" looks a lot better imo. btw great looking theme. i was never too fond of all the other themes so this might be my first theme i install. also, not sure if you would be willing to or if anyone else agrees, since the theme is dark i think colored icons with the same black background you have now would look awesome.

The darker dock does look better, I'll stick with that one. As for your icon request, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Can you elaborate a bit?

Ah, I see. Well that's pretty nice actually, though bright colors are not for me; I tend to prefer the desaturated look. However, as soon as I release this theme people are free, encouraged even, to modify and improve on it as they see fit.

That's a good question. I am not sure, but I figure I will have to transfer all the custom png's from my ADP1 theme to the correct RC30 apk's. I might do that tomorrow if I feel up to it.

the only thing i've noticed is the notifications pane background isn't transparent like in the screenshots, but i can live with that

Oh, sweet! I did the port last night when I was so tired I didn't know what I was doing, so it's nice to hear it's working on RC30 too. Thanks for trying it out.

[Theme] OctaGloss JF1.42 RC33 *Beta_Released* - WIP

I finally decided to work on my own theme. I have a ways to go before I am done and it could be awhile. I'm making custom icons as I couldnt find what I was looking for. I plan to release icons for all stock programs as well as a pack to use with BetterCut for Market downloads I've been using it in it's current state on my phone for about a week with no issues. If someone would like to play around with it as is PM me.
To Do's:
Custom icons for all stock apps + common market downloads
Custom Clock
Custom status bar, battery, signal, wifi, ect.
Plan to replace as many stock icons as I can.
This is the first theme I have ever attempted, as well as my first time I have created icons, so it's a learning experience for me. If you have any suggestions or feedback let me know=)

Beta...flash at your own risk. Working on my phone and one other that I know of. Per usual, I am not responsible if your phone blows up or becomes a brick. Still very far from a finished product, a lot left to do...but feel free to use it and send me any feedback. wifi and signal bars were done quickly and will be the first thing I upgrade. I won't have time to work on this for a few days, but will release an update whe I can. Enjoy.

Thank you both, I through together a new clock real quick...it fits the theme a little better. Will keep it updated as I go. As I said, seems to be working fine. If anyone wants to play around with it just PM me for the file

Thanks again. I am working on some things now. Do you prefer the black and white or would you prefer color inside the Octagon? I'm working on B&W right now, but I feel like a lot of the icons inside get lost and you can't really tell what they are. opinions anyone?

Coming from you that means a lot...I'm still not happy with the white inside...on some of the icons it's hard to see what the white actually is

Really looking forward to downloading this theme. Looks classy.

I have finished replacing most the stock icons...I redid a lot of the ones I had done already. I have a very specific design in mind for the status bar icons, however my I cannot do what I want to in GIMP and I cannot get my PS to work...I even tried to download a trial of PaintShop Pro...so until I figure that out I dont know how much progress I can make...
I will upload a file later for anyone looking to beta test this for me.

Like the wallpaper...I've been trying to find one I like...I settled on a simple one, but i like yours as well=)
As far as the status signal goes I am going to go darker and much more polished looking when I get some free time to play with it. Thank you for the feedback. I'll keep you updated.
EDIT: Also I am trying to figure out if I want to keep the folders as they are. They fit the theme nicely as far as color goes...however they are neither Octagon nor Gloss. Anyone have an opinion?

[Theme] JetBlack - Cyanogen 3.6.8.1 & 3.9.2(Updated 07/29)

This theme has all of Cyanogens mods working and intact I have no problem porting for other builds if there is a call for it.Thanks to ohmarni for letting me use pieces of Android Plus and Ohsaka for colorChanger.jar so white notifications are able to be done on any build.
New Version 1.5.1 fixed all of the remaining 9.png's though there could be a few stragglers,and still have all the needed files to support the HtcMusic.apk I would suggest getting one you like from here Thanks to Beags for the sweet designs.I also added my statusbar icons and new to 1.5.1a app icons there will be a version 1.5.2 with alternate 3g/edge/gprs icons if you aren't digging these.

Hmm, like the idea, but too black for me. Needs some kind of outlining, for example, the border around the launcher. The pull out tab, I'd prefer it to be bigger, kinda like Kspec...now that would be sweet :]

Only suggestion I have is making the launcher 5x4 for some reason 4 across just bugs the hell out of me.....can't explain it, just does. haha

I will look into that but last I tried it breaks cyanogens mods using a launcher thats not from his build...

thanks! ohmarni has it working on the android plus theme using the launcher and xml's from sir*mez i believe. Hope that points you in the right direction

Looks like Cyanogen 3.6.6 has the 5x4 6x3 layout I will have that version up soon.

take a loot at some of your .9.png files, the one for the search bar is off a little and causing it to look funny, should be your text field one

Yeah I have recompiled some of these .9 pngs over and over will keep at it till I get them as clean as possible.

first off love the theme , the only thing i have noticed is that when i go to use the phone it seems a bit sluggish.

I havent noticed anything like that,I am still on 3.6.5 though let me upgrade to 3.6.6 and see if I have the same problem then I will see if I can fix it.Glad you like the theme though...

great theme, plain and simple, but check the search bar is.. off, looks really odd, the voice search button is hanging off the frame if you know what i mean... looks nice tho, clock is definately a keeper, and chance you could make it hero size?
-=edit=- never mind about the clock, i already had clock widget active when i applied the theme, removed and replaced widget and it's nice and big and awesomely cool thanks, just the search to sort, but you may want to wait till cyan updates again, i recon there is 3.7 in the works some time soon

I like it except for the 3g icon, would still rock the theme with or without the icon though. love how this theme looks. Especially love the keyboard

I like the 3g icon but would like to see a different battery icon, like the ophone or the pre battery icons. Lovin 1.5 though. Sharp looking.

I am gonna try to make my own battery icons and see how they look I will be customizing all the notification icons and will also make app icons for this theme eventually but I want the notifications finished before I release 1.5.Now I am gonna make two versions also with different 3g,edge,gprs Icons.Thanks for your input guys its greatly appreciated.

My sister and roomate's wife extend their thanks. Its hard finding good themes for girls.

im fixin to release an update i found a problem with that one

its very nice...dont get me wrong...but my sister tells me that she is looking for something elegant...whimsical if you will...something that can remind her of those "green" toyota prius commercials if you know what im saying...modern maybe?
but this is nice too...it will def have an audience

funny how men usually assume that if it's pink or hello kitty women will like it (or that men won't). With that said, looks good, but are the screenshots anything to go by? because the pink looks kind of smeared, and I'm hoping it's just a compression artifact. I'll try this and see

Was not an assumption. This was to fulfill a woman's request.
And those are artifacts theme much better on phone.

yeah, i just saw that. I did notice one thing though, you seem to be missing a boot screen, all I get is a white screen at boot (i applied with no wipe on top of cm397)
take this as constructive criticism as that's the way i intend it. The pink coloring is fine, but it feels like you over-did it. Not everything has to be shaded pink, then it looks like you drowned your phone in cool-aid. It's nice to have the original look with some accents (like, coming from tehseano's theme, change only the buttons, progress bars, and only the green accented parts to pink)
Last, a problem i mentioned to tehseano but he never corrected. The app tray open/close arrow comes slightly off (1 pixel) when morphing from the open to the close one and viceversa. To fix it, just knock i pixel off the top from the down arrow and one pixel off the bottom of the up arrow (or the other way around, i dont remember))

Thanks for the heads up and ideas. I am going to post a boot image update. But a full update will be later. I will pass along the arrow info.

As beags stated this was a request that i got from someone and did it as they wanted it as for the boot screen it goin to be fixed asap the arrows will probably disappear shortly anyway as im am still goin to be changing some things and releasin new updates this was juts a first release

i have one request i would love to c some of the icons changed up. i was on the market hoping i would find a good icon pack but theres none out there.

i can help you change the icons if you want but alot of the times its just really time consuming so i dont bother with them

[Theme] Muse for CM 4.1.9999 [10-18]

First off, I would like to thank the following people
Stericson, JesusFreke, BrandenK, Sir*Mez, david1171, citizen-erased and anyone else who has inspired me (either explicitly or implicitly).
This theme came about from a personal request that was made to me by citizen-erased, I would have released this sooner, but haven't felt well for a while, but that is over for the most part now.
This theme is mainly a mash up of blur and pulse. I liked the red from blur and the pink from pulse, so well, i made them go together. There isn't really much that will change with this theme (except I will make some changes to reflect the band that it for some more, but this is the best that I got to right now.) unless some people have good ideas that either citizen-erased or I like (since this is really his theme, but he said I could release it if I felt like it, so that others could enjoy it.)
For the most part, the images in here were borrowed or from the blur and pulse ROMs. So its not exactly like I made a masterpiece for my first theme, but eh, here it is.

Yea I agree, the pink throws it off. Those parts should be red to match the rest of the theme. (Then I'd use it) Other than that I love it! Good job!

then download a blur rom or a blur theme, extract all of the red images that correspond to pressed from launcher.apk and framework-res.apk replace them in this theme, sign the file. flash it. there you go.

I don't know how to do that stuff, this forum is too convoluted to search around for it either since there are hundreds of posts in each thread.

lol i thought this theme had something to do with the muse band..
but i like it, looks good!

there is a link in the sticky to how to make a theme, then the second post has an autosign tool, that is all you need.

reading of the to-do log fail.
the 4.1.999 version of this works with 4.1.9999.

This theme is awesome! If I decided to switch back to 4.1.9999999999999 then I'm using this for sure. hah

I'm digging this for the most part. I'm not too fond of the pink, but I could get over it. I started work on a Muse theme a long time ago at the request of citizen-erased, but I got lost in the chaos of life and kinda dropped it. I'd be willing to send you some of my work, if you wanted.
