Anyone on cricket wireless? WiFi calling is rolling out... I never got VoLTE on my note 4, so I assumed is never hey WiFi calling. Already switched to att prepaid. ..
If anyone gets WiFi calling to work on an att device, please let me know.
My WiFi calling works on my stock Note 4 on AT&T. It took a while to get it setup. I had to change SIM cards because I was using my old SIM from the Note 2. With the new SIM, the tech at AT&T said they had to make sure my account has the WiFi Calling provisions. They turned it on. I had to wait about 10 minutes for it to take effect and the prompt went past the "Ooops..." message when setting up WiFi Calling. After that, I was able to enter my Address. I didn't test it until 3 or 4 days later. A friend on a Verizon iPhone called me (he's connected to his home WiFi) and WOW, the call clarity was high definition!
A few days later, my Note 4 battery died so I had to buy a battery replacement. I switched back to my Note 2 using the same (Note 4) SIM for 3 days. Of course, Note 2 has no WiFi calling. When I got my battery and switch back to the Note 4, I had to do the steps above again. (Switching phones might have removed that provision). I got WiFi Calling working once again.
EDIT: I'm not on AT&T Pre-Paid. I'm on the 1GB Mobile Share plan. (Yes, 1 GB...believe it or not, I only use about 500MB of data every month! I'm always on WiFi at home, work, gym, etc.)
I really wanted to get Wi-Fi calling on my note 4 on ATT network. Unfortunately I'm on prepaid plan and they told me this feature only available with contract
I'm on prepaid, I'm hoping att changes their mind on this...

As I have experienced first hand, T-Mobile's wifi calling feature works amazing on my Note 3. The problem is, where I live, work and play we do not get any T-Mobile service above 2g, and mostly nothing at all. I'm actually confused as to why local stores are even selling the service. It simply doesn't work here. Anyhow, I had purchased a month of prepaid service with them because I don't get ANY service from any provider at my home (except Verizon, who comes in at 5 bars in my basement). The wifi calling feature was amazing for this one reason. I never missed a call, or text and life was good. Of course, the moment I left the house my $800.00 Note 3 turned into a very expensive makeup mirror for my wife because, like I mentioned, we don't get T-Mobile here, at all. I still have 2 weeks of the service active, and put the sim into my i-747 S3 for testing.
I'm currently running Hyperdrive RLS3.1 (NB4) on AT&T Go-Service on my Note 3.
What I'm asking is simple, or maybe it isn't -
I would like to know where I could find info on a REAL wifi calling service. Not these 3rd party apps that give you a new free #, etc. I'd like something that integrates into the phone, like TM Wifi calling does. After searching this topic on XDA, I found a few threads on SIP VoIP. I'd even be willing to give that a shot. If I have to invest a few dollars, that is also ok. Has anyone else successfully done this? Any better idea's or suggestions? I'm tired of not being able to make calls from my cell phone at home. I have looked into repeaters, extenders, etc, but that is for another thread, I suppose.
I know that the native wifi calling on my Note 3 will not work with AT&T, but there must be something that can work....
Thanks for any info or help anyone can provide.
Real WiFi calling has to be supported on the back end by the carrier.
You are going to be limited to a 3rd party solution.
That's what I use. I have to use magic jack.

I also started using magicjack on my phone. After trying out several voip SIP services with the native android app, I realized that it would never have the sound quality I needed.
This is all null and void now though. I retired my N900T and bought the Verizon Note 3 and never drop signal or lose LTE, even in my basement.
100% not possible. It relies on servers at T-Mobile's end. Plus the settings in the Wifi Calling app are set to T-Mobile's servers on top of that.
Hi, I was one of the att customers who was getting screwed/throttled after paying monthly for unlimited data for many, many years. After 2 consecutive months getting shut down on day 2 of my 30 day cycle I said "screw it", bought an unlock code, and now have tmo no contract, truly unlimited for $80 monthly, (with only 5g tethering). I downloaded the tmo app so I could track usage and pay my bill, (but froze tmo hotspot with titanium backup)
Using my att hotspot (which can't communicate with tmo) I routinely tether 6-7 devices using about 100g per month and have eliminated my $180 per month Uverse with mid-speed internet.
My speeds are routinely at 30-40 mbps - Life is good!
Flash back 3 months ago ............
I talk my friend into ditching sprint and his silly little iphone 4s, telling him about tmo truly unlimited, and I buy him a tmo branded N3 off of swappa, (since he was going to tmo). I knew very little about tethering back then, but knew tmo hotspot would meter his tethering.
So now he has hit 5g and his hotspot has been turned off.
Is there a way to install an att hotspot, (or any other) on his stock tmo N3 (which is rooted) or do we need to install a whole new rom? Looking for a quick, unmetered fix -
(PDA net has been mentioned a zillion times but does it really work like my att hotspot, set it/forget it) masks all tethering?
As usual, my answer is pay $2.50 for Wifi Tether Router... set a password... everything else default... Done.
At least... it works for me.

Not working for me, tried a zillion settings, (it's been a couple of weeks).
Funny thing is, I can get to google, I can type in "nfl", a bunch of links pop up, but when I click on one, won't connect, spins round and round, then times out. Links to pages won't load? How can I access google, (and other sites), but then that's it?, I thought I was either connected to the internet, or NOT? anyways .......
I think is has something to do with T-Mobile turned off the hotspot at 5gs tether, and these programs are NOT hotspots, they just mask the data so it cannot be measured. and when they turn on tmo's hotspot, it doenst work.
If I turn on tmos hotspot, I get redirected to their upsell page).
(maybe wifi tether routher will work in a few days when the new billing cycle begins and the hotspot is turned back on)
That being said, I originally asked how I could install the ATT "hotspot" so I could use that to tether, (like I do on my unlocked att N3 that I run a tmo sim in). the att hotspot cannot communicate with tmo so I tether 100gs per month and tmo measures zero data tethered.
So how can install the att hotspot?
I probably have to install the entire att rom, that's fine?
The phone in question is a rooted tmo. Can someone tell me how to install the att rom so I can get my friends N3 work the same as mine has the last 5 months using atts hotspot?
"at&t wifi hotspot on T-Mobile"
I still haven't received an answer to this question.
I'll expand it a little bit .... Can I install the stock at&t rom on my tmo N3?
(if so, can u post a link so I can get started - thx
Forget installing a at&t rom... If you are rooted.. Just install a different rom that has unlimited tethering.. Trust me it will work.. I tether WAY more then the 5gbs thats allowed.. And I havent been throttled or anything... My hotspot still works great
My note 4 has been stuck in 3g since last night. It just switched on its own automatically. I don't think it's my area as I've been getting 4G where I live for over a year and my wife has an iPhone 4 and it's still getting 4g.
I'm wondering if Verizon is throttling my speed because I'm on a grandfathered unlimited data plan.
I've ready tried taking the battery and Sim card out and letting the phone sit for 10 minutes but that didn't do anything.
I've also tried switching the network from global to lte/cdma, but thay also didn't work.
I'm worried that if I have to get a new Sim card thay I might lose my unlimited data.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
My note 4 does this sometimes. What has worked for me was enabling airplane mode and then disabling it. It forces the cell connection to the tower to renew.
Has anyone heard if the oneplus 7t will have voice over LTE on AT&T they dont play nice with unlocked phones and hold back features like volte and wifi calling if its not At&T branded.
I got my oneplus 7t two days ago. Volte is working for me out of the box. I re-used the sim from my Essential phone which already had it enabled. Don't know if that made a difference. No wiFi calling though.
Everything works great, including call forwarding codes etc. This phone is basically a turd on Verizon, no wifi calling, and no texting. My plan is to give the AT&T pay as you go plan a 2 month trial, I will forward my VZW phone to it, and put it through the paces, if all works out, I will get rid of VZW and move to At&t. You may need to install the Log Kit to enable Wifi calling.
Mine works fine, right out of the box. On the 6T, I had to make a couple changes to get it to work.
I use Straight Talk (Tracfone) with the at&t type SIM card.
ATT says they will not provision an unlocked Note 10+ for the HD Voice.
Is there any way to get around their policy?
Yes. I have the 975F/DS on ATT and I have voLte And HD voice working.
Two steps. Took me a while to figure it out
Contact ATT and ask them to enable it on your IMEI (that's the critical part). Eventually you get through to someone who logs it and puts you through to the right department, and it takes a few weeks, and eventually you get an SMS saying your issue is solved. (I dont kow why they make it so difficult, as an unlocked iPhone gets it)
But that's not enough.
You then have.to then put your SIM in an iPhone and enable wifi calling. For some reason, it provisions the system. If you dont have an iphone, go into an ATT store and ask to do it on one of their iPhones. But it can be any iPhone, locked or unlocked.
I now have voLTE and often I see HD come up when I'm on a call. You can test it to see if it is working. When you are on LTE - dial voicemail and if your data drops to H then you dont have it. If it stays on LTE then you do.
Occasionally I lose it and have to put the Sim in an iPhone again, and re enable wifi calling just to get it back.
Hope that helps.
My bigger gripe with this setup is that the 975F misses band 30 on ATT and I often have hardly any data on built up areas. It's on the U. It's also on the iPhone btw!

Thanks. I have an SM-N975UI.
I've contacted ATT 2X on this, and went up to a Level 2 Tech the second time. Both times I've been told that they can't provision it on my unlocked Note 10+. That is really sad on such an expensive phone; and I've been with ATT for about 30 years.
Now, my wife does have a locked ATT iPhone. If I put my SIM in her phone, will it provision my SIM? I just want the HD Voice. No interest in WiFi calling.
You can but try!!! You may not want wifi calling, but it seems it's the provision of that which enables VOlte. I don't know why. Hence why the iPhone is the route as it has a setting to enable WIFII CALLING that takes you to an active E911 form.
Be persistent with ATT. Try their chat app. Don't give up! I don't think it's a technical support thing. Ask for account manager and tell them you want to leave ATT. They react much faster and more active responses.
It works for me.
