Depends on from where you bought it and if you have noted IMEI number of the phone.
First you need to go to the police station in your area and file a FIR that your mobile phone is stolen. Then take the copy of this FIR and the IMEI number of your phone and contact the service provider of your phone. They will then help you track the mobile phone location.
If you don't have IMEI number and phone was bought on flipkart, you can ask them for IMEI nuber.

My xda will be blocked like 2 MILLION cellphones on 13th dec

I need a tool for changing my xda3's imei number. Why?
I bought a xda 3 a few months ago from ebay.co.uk,
a few days ago i learnt that there was a new law and that law says you cant use mobile phones which are not legallay import to turkey( this means i will never use phones that are not sell in turkey). if i bought my phone one day ago(before the date of law) my phone has been legal but for 1 day my phone is illegal in their opinion
You can say law is law and you must know that but the problem begins here, no one knows anything about this law and 2 MILLION CELL PHONES like mine will be blocked on 13th december
i found a solution for this, i will buy a cheap legal phone and i will clone its imei number to my xda 3 to use it (if i could)
Can anyone help me how to change the imei number.
Are you sure? A law like that would be really, really stupid. :?
As for IMEI - no you can't change it.
they do have some funny laws. our Turkish representative ordered a spare part which their customs refused the importation 'coz it was manufactured in 2004.
It's nonsense.
If they would start blocking IMEI numbers for instance, all tourist's cellphones would stop functioning.
The only way they could "enforce" this is to go to each individual cellphone user, take their GSM, press *#06#, write down the IMEI number and go through cellphones sold by all Turkish operators, lists that never will be upto-date, since new cellphones are sold very day.
For me this news is a hoax, utter BS.

This is not necessarily the case.
They could block "foreign" IMEI operating on local SIM cards but not block them on roaming.
But I doubt they will.
Sascha
The Turkish government would like Turkey to join the EU. If they want to then they'll have to stop doing very silly things like this.
When (if) they do join the EU then they be foreced to do other silly stuff instead.
SO.......IN THE END WHAT HAPPENED???
yeah yeah. ok. so in the end, to make a long story short --> did it happen? i mean, did they block the imei no's or not?????
I doubt it
jim
so do i. but got no info bout that so we'll just hv2wait n see. already the deadline passed, so it should b blocked by now. but i doubt it big-time puuhleeeaassse
we pass the dead line but the result is still unknown
my gsm operator turkcel said your imei number is cloned (someone uses my imei number ? ) and depend on this stuation they record my imei number to system and i paid 10 usd for registration fee, after that they said me you can use your phone
but today i checked my imei number from the goverments web site and i saw my phone is not regisered and will be bloced on unknown date.
I want to explain something
The intention of this law is prevent the tax decrement from unregistred phones ( there's about 18 million phones came to turkey without tax at last ten years approximately
100 usd tax for 1 phone X 18 million phone = 1.8 billion usd tax prevent for the goverment
Other reason is stolen phones at previous system gsm operators couldnt blocked the stolen phones becouse they had no imei database
The law is good but the problem is on dates
Goverment says the law is made on july 13th and the dead line for the unregistered phones (phones came to turkey without paid tax) is this date
But no one know anything about this law, i checked the forums on july and there is nothing at anywhere about this law at these days
so i bought a phone from outside turkey because i didnt know that was illegal and 2 million of people didnt know buying phone without paying tax is illegal because this wasnt illegal last 10years .....
etc. etc. etc....

Well actually, that is not strictly true. It is very possable, in the pursuit of science. However this is a clean site and I am happy for it to stay that way.
You are misinformed my friend. The law isn't to battle illegale imports but rather stolen phones, illegale imports are just a by product of it. As long as you have a receipt with your name and the IMEI code on it you can drop by your local phone store and have the IMEI activated. There is a charge of 10 YTL for this.
Changing the IMEI code of your device won't help you cause it still will be blocked, unless you hijack some elses activated IMEI.
How do I know? Cause I'm in Turkey rightnow for new years. My Dutch Vodafone card works in my phone but my prepaid Turkcell card does not. I droppped by the Turkcell shop and had it activated. Took the receipt with me when I left NL cause I knew abotu the law.

I have just Landed in the U.K from Turkey and can confirm this is not a hoax. All foreign phones are blocked,on local simm cards!Foreign simm cards on roaming work, you must take the reciept and proof of purchase,if you missed the date.
And what about people who enjoy their holiday there?
Is Turkey allready joining the European Union?.
If the answer is yes, they will be very soon target by the Union rules
If the answer is no yet, they will never get in with this manners

The answer is "not yet".
They have a few human rights and free speech issues to sort out before the EU will even discuss membership with them.

try google
even if you did/could change the IMEI wont changing it be illegal ( i know its illegal to change the IMEI number here in the uk, not sure about turkey thou prob is thou)
so you would have an illegal phone cos it was import and would prob still be illegal cos the IMEI would have been changed
Unfortunately changing the IMEI number is illegal in Turkey with 3 years jail punishment. ("How will the government officers detect it?" is a question with no answer)
However for the guys like my friend from Turkey this law is completely nonsense! There was almost no announcement nor proper technical information about how everyone will be affected.
I'm sure some people in Turkey is buying cheap legal phones and copying it to their htc smartphones but the question is how they are doing that?
since I do not believe the necessity of this law I'll definetely find a way to broke it. If anyone could help that would be great under these circumstances.
I'm another guy who has a LEGAL pda2k (bought from USA with legal invoice) but waiting it to be blocked any time.... I don't really like the feeling of waiting it to be blocked on an unknown date/time. At least I want to know if there is a way to change the IMEI no in case of my pda2k's is blocked. I know IMEI can be changed and want to learn how (or where I can get this information). Any help will be appriciated. Thanks all.

IS IT UNLOCKED????

Hello,
I believe I have unlocked my phone but it not letting me make calls....
xda2s
ROM 1.40.00 WWE
ROM Date 03/10/05
Radio 1.12.00
Protocol 1337.42
Extrarom Ver 1.40.237
Was on the o2 network, have run the unlock which said it work.
The log file returned lots of answers as 0 or 00000000
Is the a program I can run which will confirm whether it is unlocked or not.
I have tried both my tmobile pay as you go and vodaphone pay monthly sim but not able to make calls.
I am able to pick up all betwork signals which are all of good strength.
I am not being allowed to select pay as you go in the start up section when selecting country. It does if I chose Germany.
Any help appreciated, thanks
Replies
Can someone please just tell me if I look like a complete novice ??
And that is why I have had no replies in 2 days regarding this....
Or is it because nobody knows the answer?
Thanks
Service Lock?
I am gettings signals from networks and my phone is seeing my sim.
As soon as I press talk the call ends.....
Am I locked to a network provider....?
And I have still not resolved the issue of whether the phone is actually unlocked.
I am not sure as it will not let me select payasgo on the set up?
This is my last post before I give up and give my hard earned cash to 02 instead of you guys....
Cheers[/b]
Re: Service Lock?
Sounds barred to me. If locked it would spit the sim back at you asking for the unlock code to be entered.
Richard
Hello !!!
Thanks for the response, but a bit concerning,,,, of course
Is there a way in which I can tell if a phone has been blocked?
02 will not give any details unless I have an account, for some reason.
You would think they could tell you so you could hand the phone back and return it to the original owner? etc etc
I need to know if it is blocked as I will not be able to use it. I can send it back to the person I bought it from... or at least have proof...
Thanks
Does it ring on incoming calls?
Calls
It will not allow any outgoing calls.
I just called it when it was switched off and it went to my voice mail.
Switched on it said " calls are currently not being connected to this phone"?
he phone is picking up all my virgin mobile settings and my number, plus it has virgin extras in the menus!!
Everything seems there.
I called 02 and they suggested going to their local shop and use an 02 sim card to see if that worked.
He said they can do an imie (whatever) check but it would take best part of 14 working days.
Surely there must be somewhere you can just type the number to see if a phone is stolen.
Or do all the service providers assume that after the 12 months are up in peoples contracts that they are goign to throw the phone away and not sell it
From what you've described, your phone has been reported lost or stolen, and has been blocked. I had the same problem with a Treo 600 bought from ebay. I phoned Orange, who looked up the imei on the spot, and told me it had been reported stolen.
I'd get onto the seller straight away, tell him it's barred, and ask for your money back.
IT IS NOT STOLEN
OK,
3rd time lucky, I always say if you ask 3 times the chances are you will find someone willing.,...
On my 3rd call to 02 the guy checked the imei number for me and the phone is not stolen or lost or had insurance against it. etc
So, square one again.
I do not understand how the phone detects my virgin sim with my numbers etc etc, it is picking up all networks, but just not letting me make calls..or receive them.
Could someone please confirm the settings I should use for a pay as you go...
Is it PAP or CHAP?
and class 8 or 10?
At least if I walk into an 02 store the SAS will not swoop in to arrest me!!
Thanks
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr
Have used various imei checkers which all say OK.
O2 will not help unless I have the original owner details.
I managed to get the name and phone number of the original owner who really sounds legit.... and I am a good judge of character.
One lady at 02 confirmed that that imei number was for his number but her system would not tell her why it was barred.
The orignal owner says it should be fine so I asked him to call 02.
I spoke to another lady at 02 who wants all his details before she will even press a button. (Obviously he is a bit reluctant to give me his home address and phone number etc... she even asked for his password, I said who in their right mind would )
Another person at 02 confirmed it is not lost or stolen. (This is the basis of buying the phone as I checked this before I purchased it.)
02 will not tell me why it is barred.....
I can only assume that it is because of an unpaid bill.....however, the original owner still has an account with 02 which is still up and running which I called him on,,,, which the first lady confirmed that the imei number was connected to that number...and they confirmed that the phone has not been used since june last year. It has only been used for Sat Nav since.
Any ideas.....
And they wonder why people look into having the imei number changed!!
Thanks

new ZF2 didnt arrive, can it be tracked with imei?

bought a second ZF2 from amazon. tracking shows it arrived 9/4 but i dont have it and had to have amazon open an investigation.....thats great but i have to wait for that before i get my new phone. So being i spent $300 on this new item and i dont have it, i am pissed and want to know if it would be possible to track the imei since Asus labels them on the box and i am sure amazon scans that barcode label. Couldnt they track the imei even if the phone is not activated? or would it have to be activated before the imei can be tracked?
i dont know how imei works with an inactive or active unlocked phone. Wouldnt the owner of the phone have to report the imei as stolen? but how would that work on a phone that didnt have a carrier?
Anyone know about this stuff? thanks in advance!
sidenote - i am sure amazon will send me a new phone once i call them in the morning. I did chat for the claim..... but it pisses me off to think someone might have stolen this from my front door. I would kind if like to find it.

Depending what country but here in Oz if you supply the police with an imei number of a phone that was stolen it can be blacklisted. That means no carrier here in Australia will allow that phone to be used however if it gets shipped outside Australia there is no problem using the phone...
Sometimes you see these phones for sale on ebay with a title saying "For sale overseas only"...
i am in the US. i know imei can be blacklisted with a carrier, but this is an unopened brand new unlocked phone. No sim, no carrier. plus i am more interested in trying to see if i or amazon can track this phone to find out where it is.

Was it sold directly by amazon or an amazon seller? if it was by an amazon seller he "might" have a database containing IMEI's of the phones he sell's, if it was amazon then your out of luck they do not keep records of IMEI of any kind, just explain the issue to amazon im sure they will gladly replace the device.

From Amazon.....not a 3rd party i would be surprised Amazon wont record a serial # or imei # especially since the label is on the outside of the box with a simple barcode label.

I called and they were very good about it. I get the impression this happens a lot. I don't know why they used usps. They make tons of mistakes.
I asked Amazon for the serial number and imei so I can file a police report. Sadly they emailed me the asin number instead. I can not believe they don't keep serial or imei for there products.
Is there a way to get this info from Amazon or even Asus? Police won't take a report with out that info

yes you have to worry.. phones upto 604 have had a bootloop have not seen anymore any newer.
tips make sure of this.. the 3 firrst digits of serial number you should ask fro 601 and up this means phone was manufactured on jan 2016 6 stands for year 2016 and 01 for month january.. so a 603 will be march 2016. avoid the ones that start at 5xx. and even the 6xx still bootloop but its lower...
also make sure you get warranty. and get phone that can be bootloader unlocked.. also get phone that its for your country ..as if it gets bootloop sending a h815 phone to LG usa example they wont fix it you need to send it to origin country like europe.. so as long as you get 6xx and have warranty its low possibility to get bootloop. andin case you can fix it by sending it to LG.

i cant tell unless you ask for first 3 digits of serial number. ask the seller cause you done want something that would bootloop on you. and that phone has bad imei. means it wasnt paid off. and was blocked in that country the phone is. i think that blocked or bad imei unlock are expensive.. i asked one guy in Los Angeles area and said 90 dollars to make it work.

IMEI Change help!

So. I normally live in the US in which what im asking is not needed BUT i traveled to Iran because of vacation (because it was where i was born in) and i had to get some paperwork done.
Needless to say, i traveled there with my razer phone.
Now my razer phone is rooted running android 8.1.0 with magisk v16.
Now i NEED to change my IMIE because they recently put a regulation in place for phones that come in from outside of the country.
You have to register your phone within a month or your IMEI will be blocked through their network.
I have used IMEI chamger from xposed framework and it does not work that good. It used to with a different sim card (Rightel) but not working with (MTN Irancel)
Point being, i need an app or trick to change my IMEI with qualcomm chipsets. Cpu being snapdragon 835 of course.
Please help me, i dont have a phone at the moment to use other than my razer phone.
Now registering my phone in their system is no longer possible and is very expensive in Rials (irams fiat currency) so help me please!.
I have done research but i have not found any effective method yet.
Phone services say "Phone Not Allowed"
