Hello,
After a year of flawless phone, suddenly the headphone jack stopped working.
When I plug headphones into headphone jack, nothing happens.
The headphones are not recognized by the device.
I tried replacing the headphones with other working pair and got the same issue.
I tried to clear cache, it did not helped.
I even tried replacing the headphone jack board by this guide:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ7ohau9GHA
and it also did not helped.
Any ideas what can be the problem and how I can resolve it?
Thanks.

Did you open up the phone? Why not contact Oneplus, now your warranty is void.

Well you could always contact them and see what they can do right? Now you are stuck with a 'expensive' phone without an audio jack.
Same Problem here.
I solved it partially using SoundAbout App. I just switched Media to Headphones when i use headphone. Otherwise not working

Hey folks,
Having terrible problems with the headphone jack on my Desire. Basically, any movement of the headphone plug causes the right ear to cut out and lots of really annoying crackling. Seems like a loose connection I guess.
Has any experienced a similar problem and found a solution? Or do I have to send back to HTC for repair?
Any idea if compressed air would help or does it sound more like faulty contacts rather than dust in there?
Thanks
Did you tried different headphones?

you mean headphones from sony, samsung or nokia? I have tried all these on my desire... There is low volume and phone reboots after 15 seconds..
Only Original HTC Handsfree work... No other..
I tried other headphones too but they don't work, my handset rebooted almost immediately.
As for your problem, if they're inserted fully and you get crackling, you will probably need to send it for repair.
Sent from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
Yeah tried different headphones to no avail.
Has anyone carried out a repair on their headphone jacks or know what contacts etc. to look out for?
same problem here, is there any guide on how to replace the headphone jack.
i don`t want to sent in the phone for repair.
When i insert headphone jack into the connector of phone, it doesn't works. I tried plugging and unplugging many times, still doesn't works even cleaned the jack connector from inside. Does anyone have this kind of problem?

did you try using different headphones? And are you running stock or custom?
Hi I've got the same problem.
My headphones (brainwavz m1) aren't working with my phone. I'm running official firmware 15.4.A.1.9. The official sony headphones which i've got with package works without problem. I have this problem since previous update (about 10 june 2014 i think) i thought that it's software bug, and i had hope that they will fix it with next system update, but i was wrong. I restored fabric settings and it was fine for about 1 hour after that time the problem is still occurring.
Any ideas how to fix it? i'm thinking that's a system bug but i'm totaly green in this topic.
Same problem here.
Up until I was sticking with the original ROM (4.1) everything was fine and every headset worked (with/without mic, no matter the brand).
Now on 5.0 (Cyanogen) and only headsets with mic are working (again, no matter the brand).
It has to be a SW problem, but I have no idea where to start. Someone willing to investigate / explain?

Hey, I had a similar problem when first purchasing the phone. Some cables (CTIA) are not compatible therefore wont provide any sort of audio. Try to use headphones that work with the device (Sony ones will work).
Hope this helps
I have a Htc one M7 and it is not recognising the earphones which came with it. It is recognising all other earphones and headphones but not the ones i got from HTC. Also when i try to use these earphones on any other devices, they work fine!
They aren't just working with my phone ? What should i do?

yeah I have the same issue. Just try to clean it for dust and if no go, then try pushing the headphone jack to the side where is the first metal connection inside the phone. It seems that's the one with the issue. Pushing the top part of the jack to the side will solve the issue temporally until you unplug the headphones. For a more permanent solution, I would try to gently with a screwdriver push out the first small metal connection inside the jack hole in the phone so it makes better contact with the headphone jack. Like I said before the metal connection with the problems is the first one and thats why it works with regular headphones because they do not make use of it. Hope this helps
App fix
You can search for an app called SoundAbout on the PlayStore, this allows you to manually enable the earphone jack with the app. My OEM earphones stopped working after 6 months and this app is a workaround.
Same problem, SoundAbout solves it. Thanks!

Hello, I had my s3 sitting for a while and decide to use it (haven't used it for 7-8 months). So I go on Youtube and watch a video. The speaker works fine but whenever I insert the 3.5 mm jack, I cant hear anything and if I remove it the speaker stop working.
I have tried multiple ROMS (CM13, DU 5.1, Stock 4.4.2) but they all seem to have the same issue. I also tried 3 different headphones.
What could be the issue?

it could very well be a hardware issue, did you replace the headphone jack/speaker assembly?

Since I got this phone, nothing has been replaced other than the battery.. And besides I don't think its a hardware issue since we have more than 2 to 3 people experiencing the exact same issue..

Check if speakerphone works, if it does, then it is likely that the hp jack is jammed and causing the phone to disable the speaker because it thinks headphones are plugged in.

Yes, it sounds like a hardware issue of the headphone jack being jammed or broken. If the issue is exactly the same on all roms, I would definitely replace the headphone jack, they are not that expensive, only $7

Why I don't think this issue might be a hardware issue is that, when ever I plug the phone to a wall socket and connect the headset jack, the sound comes on. But some few minutes after taking it off the wall socket, the sound is gone. And I have to restart the phone to get the sound working again..

if the speaker works but headphone doesn't then it may be that the phone detects some other audio device on usb. Do you hear any sounds at all through the headphones, also do the playback controls on the headphone work? If they do it may be the audio IC
Yeah, the controls on the headphone do work when this occurs.. And I don't hear any other sound..
Mind you, Immediately after inserting the jack, all the sound (speaker and headset) system in the phone is lost. Until I do a restart.
I have a Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 and I have had this problem for about a year. When the headphone cable is moved or touched the music stops and google voice starts. I tought it was a problem with my headphones but I've changed like 3-4 pairs of headphones and the problem still occurs. The problem only occurs when the headphones are plugged in. Anyone has a solution for this problem? Thanks in advance!
it looks like the brass inside your audio port is bent.
Reconnect, and test, until it doesn't.
Try cables with 4 pins.

you have to open the phone. u need a (-) screwdriver, but the best way is soldering it. u just need a jack socket ( u can use from any device which have audio jack ) , or u can buy it, its cheap. less than 2 dollar
