Has anyone received a Pixel C replacement that is not in the original retail box?
My second time replacing my Pixel C, first time they sent me a new item but second time they said it's refurbished.
Retail box of both looks exactly the same as a new Pixel C.
I'm wondering if this is an unopened item that got returned, or if Google just repackages to look exact like the new one.

Does anyone know what types of phones are the class B and C replacements? I remember class A replacements being unopened retail phones, but nothing really about the other two classes...
Edit: I posted this provide information for those who may ever plan to replace a phone through VM. I had an issue a few months ago where I bought a brand new One V that I decided to return two days later after I experienced problems with my screen. I thought that I was going to receive a new phone having it only been two days of having bought it as new, but I ended up receiving a remanufactured or "refubished" phone instead. These phones are know as class B replacements, and you can tell by putting in your order number at VM's site and reading the details. They come in small white boxes or the printed one like you see here. The phones look new and all, but it infuriated me that I would be paying full retail price for a phone that's refurbished. I returned both the defective and refurbished phone and got my money back.
As far as class C, my guess would be that it is a refurbished phone that has cosmetic wear, and that you would probably only receive after your warranty has run out, but it's just a guess...
bump!
Hey,
I would like to get some advices before I purchase a Pixel XL
what would be a better choice if I am not willing to buy a brand new Pixel XL
a used one from swappa (mint condition)
a refurbished phone from ebay (it was refurbished by a company approved by the manufacturer), with only 30-days seller warranty..
the price is almost the same for both phones.
the only thing that would worry me with the refurbished is if the screen was the reason for the refurb, then maybe they did not install an Original replacement ? could this happen?
what would you advice me to do?
Not sure if there are panels by other manufacturers, I think they are all literally the same. So if a screen was replaced, it was replaced by the same quality part that was in to begin with.
Personally, I'd go swappa, I use swappa constantly and I think there is a 60 day return thing with them (can't remember)
I bought mine from Swappa and it was such an easy buying experience.
I would just go through eBay either way you're going to be good.
There was a sale previously from Google Store.

I think before or after Pixel 2 released, there would be another round of sale, if you are not in hurry to purchase.

Get Swappa you could find a good deal a lot of times the sellers throw in accessories. but I would tell you if you could wait for a few months you should for Pixel 2.
I have sold on SWAPPA and have not had any issues. I have not bought anything as of yet. I do like EBay as well and have sold and bought from there.
Just look at the persons feedback. I would try SWAPPA before Ebay.
Get one on swappa that's mint and not a refurbished one

Hello, is there a way to find out the production date of my pixel c? I bought it on eBay.
Morning all yesterday I received my phone but having issues with the camera when I take a picture I'm getting red pixels on screen and picture so Google have asked for me to return the device for a replacement. I purchased this yesterday brand new still sealed so don't want to be getting a refurbished unit back or do Google send brand new?

I have returned one pixel 2 XL because of a faulty usb-c port and one Pixel 2 because it just killed itself when factory resetting, in both cases I got new sealed products from google. I'm from germany fyi.

They may send you a refurbished phone. I had to chat with customer support to make sure I got a brand new replacement.

I am curious what experiences other Pixel XL owners have had with regard to device replacement from Google. Are they still replacing insurance claims with a new (refurbished) Pixel XL, or have they started replacing it with a newer model device?
I came into possession of my current Pixel XL because I broke my three year old Nexus 6P and got the Pixel as the replacement.
Thanks for any insights!
