Hi All,
Housing Face Plate Black or Gray for HTC Universal available at Shope2.com
http://www.shope2.com/Product.php?cpath=1_171_178
Cheers!
Anyone sussed out what currency the site's in?
If it's £/UK, that is some insanely high pricing, but I doubt it's in £.
If it's $/US, I reckon that's still over the odds for a 2nd hand casing, I paid that price for a 2nd hand M5000 casing that also contains a working phone.
If it's Yen, please let me know, as I'll definitely buy one to fix mine as I've cracked the casing and the hinge is a tiny bit dodgy.

if on the banners the prices are in $...
rest of the prices should be in $
On that page you have menu: payment and contacts, try to find out there.

Note: They are selling only not included the service to replace the housing, if service is included then may be i will consider

cnn.cn has a great replacement screen, I bought one from them a few weeks ago - good price and a very fast delivery.
Housings for Uni are around $29 on Ebay or for a bit extra with a matching keypad.
Something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...5&_trkparms=algo=SI&its=I&itu=UCI&otn=4&ps=42
I just received my Galaxy Tab 10.1 Book Cover today and after couple of hours I can say that I'm pretty happy with it.
The most important reason why I bought that case over the other one (http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=544839), that I was thinking of buying, was that the Book Cover case does not add extra bulk.
I found the case with a very good discount on amazon. It costed £27.95, which is very good price for such quality product. Now the price is much higher on amazon.
On my case there are actually two differences from the original one that I watched a lot of reviews (you can see on my last photo):
1. There is an opening for the power button. Probably this is a good feature, because I found that some people are complaining about powering up and down the tablet by accident when the case closed.
2. The opening for the audio 3.5mm headphone jack is a little bit different. On my case if I plug my headphones when the cover is closed, I can open fully the case while the headphones are still plugged in.
nice, wish mine had that stuff lol
Hey, I believe Samsung updated their design on this one!
I was looking to purchase this new one but couldn't find it anywhere here in U.S.
I found two items that have the same name. Which one is this updated model?
EFC-1B1NBEGSTA or EFC-1B1NBECXAR
I would like a link if anyone haw found this in the US

The one he has is the most updated model. I bought one when I first got the Galaxy Tab. The only difference that I can see is that it has a hole for the power button and a redesigned headphone jack hole. The one I have doesn't have a power button hole and I can't open the case with the headphones in. They look exactly the same though, Samsung and Galaxy Tab logos are in the same place, it folds the same way, etc.

On amazon were posted images from the original case. There was no hole for the power buttom and no updated hole for the headphones. So I think, if you want to know if its the new one, you should contact the seller and ask. He should be able to check without opening the packaging because its transparent.
Hope this helps...

After seeing your post I went ahead and payed the ridiculously high $59.99 for the case. But it is indeed the new redesigned case bought straight through the Samsung website, in case anyone else would like to go the same route
Hey folks!
So, I'm willing to buy this case, but would like to ask you: is it tight enough?
As for what I can see in the pictures, there are just four "parts" holding the tablet in the corners, so... is it tight enough? I mean for daily use, no extreme moves and stuff...
Thanks!

Overall I think its pretty good, however, I notice if you press the phone to your ear somewhat hard, it will creak. If you press above the speaker grill it will slightly creak too. Its kind of annoying, but my Note 2 on T-Mobile does it also. I also would rather have capacitive buttons than a physical home button. The home button tends to make a "clicky" noise if you press the center, whereas pressing the sides result in no sounds.
I think the Note has better build quality than the GSIII though, but its still got ways to go. What do you guys have to say about build quality?
And for $700 one is to be very nitpicky about such things.

Unless you use glass or an equally hard material squeaks will be inevitable. I wouldn't count that as poor quality, just the way it is.

Your absolutely right.
Overall I believe the build quality is very good but Samsung will need to step it up to be in Apple's league. The back material should be improved, it seems to be quite prone to micro scratches. I understand that they can't use aluminum or glass since it would make the Note II weigh a brick but perhaps a matte type of plastic like HTC phones.
I don't think that because Samsung make their phone out of plastic that equals poor build quality. Their are advantages to using this type of polycarbonate to build their pones. Aside from making the phone thin and light I have read one of the reasons iPhone doesn't have NFC is because the aluminum body make it practically impossible.
I just wish they stopped using shiny plastic that is a fingerprint magnet and is more likely to show scratches. I'd prefer a back like the S2 or the rubberized type back.
It's a phone... I guess I'm a function over form type of guy.

Just remember...removable sd-card and removable battery!
In the past, I've always kept a case on my phones.. so It's only whenever I have to do a battery pull do I actually see the back cover. Plastic, glass, steel, all the same to me lol.
Negir electronics is only 629 no tax

Overall I think it's good enough on the quality with the materials. But I'm a little picky on some interaction parts like buttons, I hope Note II got more consistency and better quality. Power button and home button are ones that we press so many times. Initially power button was a bit loose so I actually disassembled and added two layers of tapes on the back of the button. Now it feels much more responsive and tighter.

My power button seems very firm. It does not move at all. My home button the other hand makes a loud click sound it pressed directly in the middle.

My buttons are firm too, even home. No click.
I'd take this physical home button over capacitive any day (a previous poster states the opposite). Often the home button is a more convenient unlock button, makes it easier to tell if the phone is upside down or not when just waking up in the morning or in a dark room, and it's easier to operate quickly without looking.
I like the note 2 build quality. View the drop tests. Note 2 did EXTREMELY well. I have a case anyway so could care less about the look of the back materials and the front is sexy Imo.

I think everyone's home button clicks if pressed a certain way. It's just knowing what to listen for.
This one(GN2) feels much better than the OG Note in my opinion.

Black ones will be coming out after the first of the year sometime...but...I am going to disagree with you about them not being in Apple's league...because to me they have already surpassed them not only in delivering a superior phone..but as far as the build quality of mine it doesn't take a back seat to them.Sure..the Iphones may be built out of higher costing materials...but all one has to do is go look on most all of the Apple forums and see just how sloppy they have become in the past 2 years..and I sure as hell wouldn't want a aluminum or glass back like what comes on their's...that is more prone to breaking and scratching than the poly carbonite Samsung uses..The mystic and glamor of the Iphone is nothing more than a trend that is waining...

I tried to exchange to get a better one, but they refused because they cannot agree with my complaint about button quality so I have to pay a restocking fee if I really want to get a new one. I was quite mad about it because three store managers disagreed me for an exchange regarding the button quality.

Pay the restocking fee and get a new one. It sucks but they are doing that now.
You can call the executive office and complain to them and see if they will reenburse you on your next bill.
Make sure to check the phone out well before leaving the store this time though so there won't be a issue next time.

Spigen's customer service is abysmal.
They didn't respond to my lost package claim. So I contacted Amazon this morning to have them contact Spigen on my behalf. Still haven't heard back. Just terrible.
I ordered on Oct 31 as soon as I placed my N5 order. I've had the N5 for a week now, and Spigen who claim to have shipped on Nov. 1, nothing
I've had the same issue from the UK! But I had to order on amazon from a company called 'keep in case'. Over a week since I ordered and still no sign of it. HATE using my phone without a case!

I'm not a big fan of this case either - buttons are terrible, and as you say the volume ones keep pressing with almost no pressure.
It also adds a lot of bulk especially to the width
I still however prefer having a case to not having one at all so will keep it on until the official case is released.
I just received my Ultra Hybrid case today and the power/volume buttons are way too sensitive. It just takes a light tap to activate them. I engaged my power button so many times just by holding the phone in my hand with the case on. I waited almost two weeks to receive it and what a disappointment this is. IO know the buttons will be pressed while the phone is in my pocket and it will probably be powered off more than once due to a long press of the power button.
I'm going to contact their customer service and see what happens. I ordered from Amazon.ca
I guess I was lucky with my hybrid case, I haven't had any issues with the buttons like you guys.

Too sensitive? Is it not the same sensitivity has hitting the button naked, since mechanically the case ONLY covers the button. I think what you guys are complaining about is that its easier to hit the button because the button area on the case is much bigger.
I see it as working as intended. If you have not noticed, the buttons are flush. Some people like flush buttons. Gives it a clean feel. However, usually that makes the buttons, in their original shape, harder to press, thus the bigger area was created.

No, the button sensitivity is increased with the case on. Not just because it has a wider contact area. If you look inside the button area in the case you'll notice they are protruding inwards to reach the buttons. I believe the protrusion is too long and is the reason for the increased sensitivity.

It's easy to write off the experience of others when you get one of the few cases that work...
Hey, guys. New owner of the Z1C here, and I'm wondering about my power button. It's really not clicky at all, maybe just barely when I push it a bit harder, and it just seems like something's not right about it. So, is this the case with all Z1C's, or are your power buttons clicky?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers, guys!
mine is not clicky, but also doesnt feel loose at all
i prefer not clicky type of buttons anyway so its good for me.
but yea it feels soft compared to volume buttons
Hmm. I guess I didn't get a defective device after all.
It's just that I was used to clicky feedback. I had a G2.
How much does it stick out of the outer ring (the one closer to the phone - that doesn't move)? Mine's a millimeter out, I'd say.
Thanks a lot for your answer!
Mine gives me a kind of clicky feedback if I push the power button. And it stands out about 0.7 millimeter.
Yes, mine too, but it's quite weak. Can you confirm this as well?
Thanks for your answer.
clicky, the same way as volume buttons
Hmm. Mine is less clicky than the volume buttons. Sometimes it's even hard to press.
I'm asking all of this to see if I should replace my device while it's still fresh.
Mine is clicky, but not audibly clicky.
That's ok, I didn't mean audibly either.
I just meant that you have a strong feedback that you pressed the button.
Thanks for all the answers so far, guys.
Mine is clicky aswell.
But it is also a bit loose. Its the only thing that bugs me about my Z1C

If it's yours' problem, you can ask replace your phone with a new one perhaps.

Yeah, that's a bit of a problem. They ran out of these models in the store, so now they have to order them each time someone wants one. Therefore, I can't compare it. And no one else that I know has this phone.

There is a test video for you. Hope it will help you to compare.

Thank you so much! Mine is not half as clicky. I think a replacement is in order. I'll contact the sales person.
Thanks again!

After a year my Z1C has a very unresponsive power button. Not the smallest click, nor the smallest feedback.
I don't think it even moves at all. It still works, but in the majority of times you have to press it very hard to work.
This was a bit progressive. Another friend of mine has a Z1C for 3-4 months and upon playing a bit with it I would say that is on course of breaking as well...
Obviously it is hardware fault caused probably by weak materials...
It is in service (warranty) for 7 days now. When I'll have a response from the service I'll share it here.
my power button is still clicky after 18 months. my problem is the squeaky back cover.
