After almost six months of waiting, here it is: the first stable release of Nougat for our Elephone P9000 European and Asian variant (there's no support for US model in this ROM)
Original thread: http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-13393-1-1.html
Firmware Download (MEGA)
SPFlashTool (MEGA)
Elephone MTK drivers (Driver Test Signing required) (MEGA)
--- First Impressions ---
- Installation was OK. Did a dirty flash over the previous BETA without overwriting USERDATA.
- Had to reflash TWRP, even if I unchecked RECOVERY while flashing.
- Magisk 12 is working like a charm, with ROOT support.
- Laser focus is working, option is now in camera app instead of a global setting.
- Fingerprint reader is working, feels faster but still lacks a little precision.
- Users report that fast charging is working.
- SafetyNet still reports CTS profile mismatch.
- This version is not available as OTA, but next one should be OTA compatible.
Fast charge is not working. Everything else is really good
screen censor

20% in 16 minutes... looks like it's working fine for me. The screen just wasn't updated...
BTW, I'm using Elephone's original fast charger and cable...
---
2:31 an is fully charged. 75 minutes for 85%... I remember that before it did 100% in about 70 minutes. Good thing, even if it's a little slower, it didn't get insanely hot... so in the end they changed the fast charge function, or it's just charging really quick with the standard 5V2A mode... Maybe they just limited it to 9V fast charging instead of the full 12V? Any ideas?

Whats your definition of fast charging? For me fast charging is working:
from 20% to 80% about 45min with original Elephone fast charger and original Elephone cable
Usually i charge the battery only up to about 80%
Fast charging with pump express has not worked since the 20160608 ROM, if you really want to see how fast pump express plus is then flash 20160531 which charges a whole 100 in 67 minutes. On this ROM it takes me 2 hours to charge from 30 to 100. Before on pump express it would take 55 minutes and without it before this ROM it would take 90 minutes. This ROM charges even slower. And you can't check the voltage since the power is not present in this mtk app
What is the battery life?

Pump express never works until 100%! For me a full charge with nougat needs about 90 min (from 10 to 100%), for me and on my P9000, fast charging is working
Battery Life is like in marshmallow

It does not work. The phone doesnt even charge above 5v and 8w in this ROM. If you don't know how to check it then turn off your phone whilst charging and see if it has a 3d battery animation instead of the 2d one

I do not care about a missing animation. I see the reality on my p9000, as i have already said, charging time in real life from 20 to 80% is about 45min on my phone.
If you say fast charging is not working on your phone i do accept this, on my phone its working!

It's not about how quickly your phone charges, it's about the technology involved.
I think mine is not fully working, as it still is charging fast, but not as fast as before in last the Nougat beta (That's why I think it may be working at up to 9V). I'll try to get an USB power meter, but here in my country and city they're really scarce... and the few that I've found are for 5V operation only...

What is this animation like? Is it like waving blue water (I remember that in the latest beta)? Here at work, with normal charger I get calm blue water filling the battery. I'll check with the PE+ charger when I get home.

I think I've never seen it, even with the latest Nougat beta where PE+ was definitely working... as my phone charged full in about 70 minutes and got hot as hell in the oven. For my it always has been a rectangular battery with waving blue water inside.
---
Factory Mode reports charging voltage of 4.7 volts with the PE+ charger, almost the same as the standard 5.0V2A charger included with my P9000 or the P5000's charger... so at least in Factory Mode PE+ is not working. Also I got blue slooshing water in the OFF battery indicator with the 3 chargers tested. So I bet it's a systemwide issue unless PE+ doesn't activate itself in Factory mode.
BTW, a fun fact: I've never could get OTG to work with my phone, and in Factory Mode there is an OTG test marked in red instead of the green of all the other options... OTG Status: FAIL... I'll try Factory Mode later with something connected in OTG mode...
---
OTG Confirmed working
Check the mouse pointer just around the Whatsapp icon...
---
BTW, OTG only works with USB type C OTG adapters; I tried to use an microUSB OTG adapter (the one included with my P5000) with a microUSB to Type C adapter, and it didn't work and also prevented OTG from working until a reboot. With the Type C OTG adapter it even pass the Factory Mode OTG test

I understand that you need a good quality cable for PumpExpress+ to work. I remember that when PE+ was working for me, it didn't work with a generic cable and just worked with the original cable included with my phone and with another good quality cable that I bought...

I used a USB c cable with a 56k resistor. It worked fine on the ROMs that worked with pe+. The included one in the box shouldn't be plugged in the PC since it doesn't have the 56k resistor

I think it isn't compatible. Latest rom was 2016/06/21 I think... but as there is supposedly just minor differences between P9000 and Lite *wink*wink*build.prop*wink*wink, once the Nougat release goes gold you should have a Nougat rom too, official or not.
Hi guys,
I've also posted this question in Elephone Forum, but maybe here I'm getting more qualified informations:
I've updated my P9000 with this 7.0 nougat version and everything is working smooth except my GPS. It's really crap since the update, even more unstable than in 6.0 marshmallow.
I've flashed without userdata in "Download Only" mode.
Could a flash with overwriting the userdata fix the GPS problem?
And should I flash in mode "Firmware Upgrade" or is "Downlod Only" sufficient?

Good evening,
everithing works fine here.
Installed using "format all + download" on sp flash tool.
- gps working better than 6.0
- Bluetooth work
- fingerprint was better (8/10 working)
- battery was worse till re-calibration (maked by advanced battery calibrator)
Sometimes system UI crash.

Hi there, i bought a Aukey 3 port quick Charge 2.0 charger as it seemed the most promising but unfortunately it won't quick charge my m9... Charging from empty till full takes several hours, while the phone is off it takes about 90min for a full charge. My phone is a Htc one m9 running the latest Viper One Rom, xpossed installed, and whatever else i flashed has not caused issues in the past, everything is unning smooth as silk appart from the quick charge 2.0
Sometimes Quick Charge devices with multiple ports only offer the quick charge feature on one of the ports. Could this be the case here?
Do you have a model number or a link to the device's page where you got it? That might be helpful to know here.

I had a similar problem where any 2.0 charger didn't charge correctly. I was messing around with pnpmgr and various kernel settings when I encountered this problem , so I just started over from scratch with the RUU that matched my device/carrier. Haven't had any issues since and the 2.0 charger I use charges the phone from 5% to 100% in 40-50 mins.

Make sure you are using a good "Data Cable". Normal "charging only" cables will not work with "Quick Charge 2.0".
Hi guys,
My A5 2017 charges very slow. It happens both in normal charging as well as fast charging mode. Up to 80% charging is OK (within 90-100 minutes), however after 80, it gets stuck at sometimes at 85, sometimes 85 and most of the time at 90%. In fast charging mode, it takes another 90 minutes to charge from 90-100% (that means 90 minutes for 10%) . That means there is no advantage of having fast charging mode in our devices, as it takes 3 hours to charge the device. Earlier it didn't happen, but now it happens again and again. I tried following steps, but all in vain:
1. Changed charging adapter as well cable (brand new) from service center.
2. Tried to charge in different sockets.
4. Tried to charge the device in switched off mode.
3. Reset the whole device 2-3 times.
4. Also, while charging the phone, device temperate is OK, no heating issues.
Is it only me ?
How to overcome this problem?
You can always try factory reset.

I really hope you found a solution. Ive been looking an answer for this annoying problem for 6 months!
Ive read almost 50 threads in differents forums about this problem but no solution at all.
- Tried changing charging port. Cost me a few dollars but no solution.
- Tried USB debugging on and off from developers menu.
- Did MTP+ADB option in *#*#0808#* menu.
- Turned Low Battery Dump "on" in *#*#0808#* menu.
- Tried 10 or more different original Samsung cables.
- Upgraded PC USB drivers.
None of them worked for me.
Hope you have made a progress.
Try battery calibration tool from play store.
Charging after 80% is always slower because of Li-Ion batteries that have a short life if you keep them around 100% all the time.

Sorry for bumping the thread. But I have the same problem now, I do understand that the phone is already 3 y.o. but if it has fast charging, it should charge fast, right? Lately, it started to work slower, Idk what to do with it. I like it very much and I don't want to buy a new one
I was wondering if this is a temporary problem, (before it appends sometimes) but now, my phone never "Fast Charges".
I'm using the cable and charger that's in the original box.
Is there any solution to this?
My phone: No root, security patch June 5, latest beta update.
How many different outlets have you tried it in? Also, I had an issue with fast charging as well on the P beta so I came back to Oreos.
I only have the issue with the pixel on the beta, the other one that I have in the normal build works like a charm (same charger).
Have no idea if this is a known bug...

I'm sure everyone would be reporting it if it were. Very strange though. Why not try another charger out of curiosity to see if it works with it? I'd be interested to see if it did
I am having the same problem since the latest Android P/9 upgrade. Charges slowly with different OEM chargers.
May be placebo. Just because you don't get the notification doesn't mean it's not fast charging. Only way to really know is download ampere and compare charging rates to a phone that does report fast charging.
My phone doesn't get any type of message anymore after certain mods, however, my phone still charges at roughly 3.0 amps
Hello,
I can confim this issue.
Google Pixel with Android P Beta 3 is not fast charging.
I tested it with a power meter and it showed 8 Watts, which is very low compared to fast charging which uses 18 Watts.
Before I joined the beta program it worked just fine.
Using default power brick btw.
Can also confirm it's not working on DP3. Doesn't matter charge level, cable or power block it's only drawing about 500ma to 800ma. It is agonizingly slow. Fell asleep waiting for some power. Woke up from the nap and thought, "Alright, it's gotta be at 100%." Nope just 53%
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
No problems here, both before and after DP3 OTA and then a factory reset to clear up some fingerprint scanner issues.
EDIT: Try a backup and factory reset...
I figured mine out, I think. I'm assuming there is some type of thermal throttling in the Quickcharge spec, I haven't looked.
It's hot where I live and the aluminum back on the phone seems to absorb every bit of heat when I go outside. It's about 100°F (38°C) at 8:20PM so it never really cools off. When I'm back inside it takes a while to cool off especially if I put it on a charger.
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
So the only solution it's a factory reset? :/
Can anyone confirm that the factory reset does in fact bring fast charging back? I've had about enough slow charging.
Seriously considering getting out of the preview program to get fast charging back. As someone said, it's not just slow, it is excruciatingly slow!
I'm curious myself if a factory reset fixes it or not. The regular charging is way too slow.
Can confirm this on DP4. Has anyone figured this out? It's driving me nuts. I'm about to flash back to Oreo despite P being the most meaningful Android version upgrade in recent years.
Factory reset didn't solve it for me either.
Fast charging works while charging from my wife's pixel 2 charger. And her phone Fast charges too while using my charger.

Same boat here... Last week with my wife charger started fast charging, but not with mine...
Flashing Android P DP5 has not fixed this. Admittedly, I have flashed using flashall.bat without the "-w" in order to avoid a complete wipe. However, I can't imagine this is relevant to this issue as this isn't a dirty flash, but cleanly replacing the prior OS. So what's up?
I read on another forum booting into safe mode and charging will restore the fast charging. I did it and it worked for my Essential phone. Boot to safe mode and charge for a bit and reboot and it should be working again. The post said if not leave it in safe mode till fully charged and then reboot.

I figure you got it already so before anyone else asks. From the very first search result on Google.
With the device powered on, press and hold the*Power button*(located on the right-edge) until the Power off prompt appears then release.
Touch and hold*Power off*until the Reboot to safe mode prompt appears then release.
Tap*OK*to confirm.*The restart process may take up to 45 seconds to complete.
Upon restart, "Safe mode" appears in the lower-left of the unlock/home screen.
Now you're in Safe Mode.

Until 3 days back, the Asus 5z (Non-rooted) was charging fast with Original Asus quick charger. But then it got FOTA update to ww_ZS620KL_90.10.138.181_20190202
(build number: PPR1.180610.009.WW_user_90.10.138.181_20190202)
(Baseband ver: M3.15.35.23-Draco_000621)
After the update, there is a weird behavior seen while charging. After charger is switched on, charging go upto 1580ma (measured using "Ampere" app) and then gradually, the charging gets reduced to 680ma-720ma within next 4-5 seconds and then the phone charges constantly at this speed. If i switch-off the charger and then again switch it on, then again the charging go upto 1580ma, then to 700ma. Now it takes 150min-180min to fully charge the phone. Earlier it was just 100min at ~2500ma speeds.
Its like there is some kind of capping enabled via this FOTA update, which is not allowing fast charging. As soon as the phone detects fast charging, it reduces it to normal speeds, due to some unknown reason.
Charger is not faulty, i have checked it using Original Asus charger, Tronsmart QC3.0 , Poco F1 original QC3.0 charger, Motorola original QC2.0 charger. All yields the same result, It goes upto 1580ma and then reduced to ~700ma.
Things i've tried:
Enable/disable AI charging
Rebooting
Different chargers/Different electrical sockets
Discharging completely and then charging
Things i've NOT tried yet:
Battery calibration (don't know if it will actually works)
Factory reset (have a lot of data to backup before doing so)
Do you think the issue is related to January security patch? My phone is not rooted.
Please Help.
Mines still fast charges but I notice it stops fast charging at 70% instead of 80 with ai charging on

No Bro, no reply from ASUS forum too. Since many of us are experiencing this issue, i hope ASUS may resolve this in their security update.
Same issue post FOTA update
same issue, powe off phone before charge and power on during charge let the phone charge at fast charging speed but this is very inconvenient
I also facing same issue but when I reverse the type C cable sometimes it charges fast.
May Asus solv it
Many people are facing the same and have reported it in Zentalk forums.
I request you all to report it too so that it comes in the notice of asus devs and they fix it asap.

I believe this is due to loose connection or lose contact in wall socket. I have seen, if you remove the wall socket and then reattach again, it charges fast.
Maybe it detected some sparks/surges in USB output and kept going to safe mode.

Hi All,
I too facing the same problem and complained in ASUS twitter site and they told to go to the Service Center. If i restart the phone before charging then my phone is charging fast.
I too have this problem. I use this workaround.
Connect the charger to the phone and let the current reading come down in the ampere app. After that, keeping the charger connected, restart the phone. You'll see that now your phone is fast charging. The current goes up to 2500 ma now.

issue fixed with the 92 mb update i got last night
For me the 90mb update reversed the charging speed. The update prior to this update fixed fast charging for me, but after this 90mb update the phone stops fast charging at 70%. I measured the time it takes to go from 6% to 100% (with AI charging ON), it took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. So it doesn't bother me that much as it's still plenty fast for me. I hope Asus fixes the issue permanently.

Hi everyone!
I'm investigating charging issue with A70 Europe version.
Bought used one with stock ROM, then unlocked and installed crDroid based on android 10.
Additional modules: Magisk, EdXposed, FakeGapps, MicroG
Apparently after ~1-2 years it started charging really slowly.
(Used orignal adapter and cable) So I thought it was broken and changed it.
It didn't help
I recently moved to LineageOS 20 straight from crDroid.
Issue persisted and I was annoyed with it so much that I checked charging parameters with Wattz app from f-droid.
With different cables and adapters I'm able to achieve Max 0.4 A with 2A charger.
Where in most cases it is 0.1A with 1.5A charger
I got it to the cell phone repair where I said I suspect that it may be the port as it stopped transferring any data.
They fixed port but charging issue persisted.
In that moment I decided to try fix it myself.
I opened the phone and changed battery as it was also discharging fast.
It didn't help.
I started reading some similar threads here.
So what is left:
- change the tape that connects main board with port (it is said to be a common issue on samsung device)
- reflash stock rom and see what happens there.
what do you think?
do you need any pictures of the phone or other details?
Thanks in advance!
UPDATE:
Device is A705FN
Did both.
Changed ribbon cable that connects main board with port and flashed stock ROM based on android 11.
Disabled adaptive charging in settings.
But it didn't help.
This could mean that it is some other hardware issue but I'm run out of ideas...
Other observation:
Measuring Watts:
(Stock charger) When I power on the phone, drain is ~10W till it enters offline charging mode or system is on, then it stays exactly 0.5W ! I'm not sure if it is charging. When system is powered it says no.
To compare with my msm8998 based Sony Xperia ~10W till it enters offline charging mode, then it stays at something like 4.6W with 1.5A charger.
Both tested while charging above 90%
I'm totally pissed of. I put money to repair it but nothing seems to work.
I'm sure about one thing - I'll never ever buy any other samsung smartphone.
This sounds like a charging board issue from the very beginning. Charging problems do happen on this phone sometimes but usually just reseating the ribbon cable is enough to make it work again. Perhaps some chip has failed, though this happens much more rarely.
