Hello i just got my hands on a nexus 5x.Its so laggy.when i try to switch apps , like to skype or whatsapp it takes ages to open. The phone freezes. Its just kind of unuseable.I have nougat running anyway to fix this issue.i have root also.Games also dont run fps on shadow fight 2 on lowest settings are horrible.
I tried installing Ram managing app it showed 500 to 800 mbs free ram.So i have no idea what to do.

Firstly check CPU usage using e.g gsam battery monitor, and let it gather data for at least one day testing. If will be nothing special, go through next step.
Try to disable big cores when you have root. If it will help keep it disabled because it will bootlop when enabled.
If nothing happen flash factory image and test it one day without apps. If it will be okay without apps - you have obvious answer. If not - hardware issue.

Hi, I've noticed that my phone kills apps very frequently, which I don't have a problem with. The problem is that it kills apps that are running in the background. For example when I've captured a photo sphere and close the camera, it doesn't even have time to create or save the sphere before the system kills it. It also kills the launcher almost every time I start an app.
Is there a way for me to fix this, or is there an app that can fix it? My phone doesn't have root, though.

Can you enable ART on G3?

Yup just did it and its rebooting.
Its under developer's option > Select runtime system > Use ART
Edit: After booting up the system with ART, the camera app immediately crashed. Whatsapp worked fine. The phone also got really hot when android was switching over to ART from Dalvik. Going to switch back to Dalvik when the phone cools down.
phone got really hot WHEN switching or after switching?

Phone gets really hot while switching. It cooled down after it booted into art mode.

Its doing a lot switching to art ....
Here are some of the major new features implemented by ART.
Ahead-of-time (AOT) compilation
ART introduces ahead-of-time (AOT) compilation, which can improve app performance. ART also has tighter install-time verification than Dalvik.
At install time, ART compiles apps using the on-device*dex2oat*tool. This utility accepts*DEX*files as input and generates a compiled app executable for the target device. The utility should be able to compile all valid DEX files without difficulty. However, some post-processing tools produce invalid files that may be tolerated by Dalvik but cannot be compiled by ART.
So it its compiling every app you have on the phone to start on time instead of the little lag you get when opening some big apps.....so in reality your phone won't have to work as hard using art after the first time....

I wish i can benefit from those point you've pointed out. but unfortunately many of the LG doesn't work with ART and will crash when i attempt to load it up. for instance, the camera app stopped working after switching over to ART.
I think LG should fix the camera issue. I've had the same problem with G2 over year ago.
TA
That is the only thing the apps need to be updated to support art and soon 64bit

Phone seems faster with art but quadrant score is very low 13k Max

Switched to ART from day one. Not had a single problem. Camera and everything else I've tried works as it should.
Can somebody check benchmarks both on art and dalvik? It's weird to get worse scores right?

Same here...
Depends on some apps you use. Not all apps are switched to art yet. I use a few that don't work with art. It's still not supported
I tried switching to ART but the whole phone became extremely slow and laggy. Did any of you guys experience this? Should I leave it for a while to sort itself out?
Also, a lot of my installed apps disappeared from the launcher? Is this normal as the apps do not support Art or should they still show up?

The first reboot after the switch from Dalvik to ART took about 10 minutes for me. It depends how many apps you have installed, as it needs to pre-compile all of them. After that I didn't notice anything being slower or missing.
In theory ART should make it faster to start applications and should help with battery life as well, as it doesn't need to compile the apps on the fly as you start them. That's the theory anyway. I had ART on on my Nexus 5 as well from the beginning and none of the apps I've used misbehaved.

You have too many apps that use Mobile Data. Dont give then the right to do that (Its in the Setttings) or turn your data off.

Try this. Go to settings>mobile networks and untick "enable always-on data mobile"
Also go to Apps manager and you can force close and disable any apps like Google books, Google music, Google+ etc
Another way you can go to Accounts and unsyc unwanted stuff eg click on your Google account and see full list of all synced services.
All these steps will give better battery life too.
When I'm in settings and check running apps, they all start restarting for some reason. Now I'm not sure if they do this normally or not, but it would explain a bit of the slow down I experience when returning to the homescreen.
Does anyone know if this is just when I'm looking at running apps, or is it something specific to the LG G3, and if so can I stop it?
I am having the same thing happen on my phone as well. Curious as to why this is happening.
Would like to know the answer to this as well. Besides, using an alternative launcher (aviate) it often gets killed after I've been using Google now or browsing the net for some time

I've noticed this, and simply put it down to LG's management. I often use the full 2GB of Ram available too.
I've found the solution to the problem. It's actually the way the G3 manages the ram that is so aggressive that it kills most apps in the background. I've changed the OOM values and all is running well now.

Hello guys, recently I am facing very long app installation time (even smaller apps) as well as sometimes screen unresponsiveness at that time in my G4. but I don't know why it's happening. it was fast & smooth before. I am using rooted 10E EUR on my H815T. and yes, I have quite a few xposed mods installed and installed apps r also quite high.
So can someone guide me to find out the culprit here?
Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry that this is going to sound like a bit vague, but I don't know how else to articulate it: if it's common, turn on debug and use one of the various error analysis apps to see what is pulling processor memory/causing the kernel to focus on two vs three cores, or because of apps specific to you.
That's what I did, but mine was specific to my phone: it wasn't the xposed modules that were the culprit, though like you beforehand I thought it was most likely. I wish I knew more about the 6 processor layout for the g4...I'm used to how Samsung dealt with 4/8 core.
