You have too many apps that use Mobile Data. Dont give then the right to do that (Its in the Setttings) or turn your data off.

Try this. Go to settings>mobile networks and untick "enable always-on data mobile"
Also go to Apps manager and you can force close and disable any apps like Google books, Google music, Google+ etc
Another way you can go to Accounts and unsyc unwanted stuff eg click on your Google account and see full list of all synced services.
All these steps will give better battery life too.

From a G3 to a G4 : restore my apps

Hi, I've pre-Ordered my G4 on Amazon, and next week, it will be mine replacing my G3.
As the G4 if not rootable yet (so no titanium), how to easily put all my apps and their data on my new device?
Thanks for your answers

LG Backup Tool, either on the phone or with the LG Tool Kit from their website.
No root needed on either devices.
Use the LG backup tool, then copy the folder onto a PC desktop. When you get the new phone, copy that folder onto the new LG, then do a restore.
I can do that on my sdcard, without a computer? Nova launcher will be restored with icons at their right places?

You can backup Nova within Nova settings. It creates a file that you can then copy to your SD card, and restore from your new phone.
If your old phone also has lollipop you can do a tap and restore. It's an option when you first get your phone and start setting it up.

I have lollipop on my "old" g3.
So if I "tap and restore", all my apps with their settings will be restored on the g4?

No. It just redownloads all the apps from the other device. You will still have to setup most of them. Except some google apps that save the settings online and possible a few others. But mostly you will have to re do settings. I don't think there is a non root way like titanium backup for restoring data. I will be having this same issue soon.
Use backup&reset under general settingsnon your G3 and launch the LG backup app on your G4. It uses wifi direct to transfer everything. I can say that more than 90% of your apps settings will be copied. I did not need to sign in on instagram, and even all the settings on my outlook are copied. My homescreen and app drawer customization are there as well. Pretty neat I must say
Have i to insert my sd card in the g4 before to restore?

I had to swap my device and did a backup to sd card . I have been "restoring" now for 45 min and I'm only at 6%, is this normal?
If you use the backup function to your sd card, it will allow you to insert in in the G4 and restore it from that backup. However, as much as I got it to give me all my accounts and passwords, apps, settings, etc, I still have a weird issue. My screen brightness will always start at 100% regardless of how I set it before reboot. As far as the issue with the touch screen that others experience, it's mild to me and probably something that can be calibrated. I'm pretty sure that the reason for the glitches are caused by trying to port the G3 to the G4. I know it's a pain, but starting from stock just using it as Google intends to reapply your apps is the better option and will not have such issues. I know we all get comfortable with the way we set up a device, but I guess that's the point of upgrading. I went through all three ways of trying to port over my G3. 1- tap and go. Only transferred simple accounts. 2- WiFi direct. Did more for apps, but left the new phone otherwise stock. Meaning no customized desktop or lock screen and such. 3- backup and restore from sd card. Worked the best, but still seems to throw the G4 off balance in some ways. Got a mirror image of my G3, but other things are glitchy.
Example, the screen brightness on boot. Maybe even the long press on a key to select the -. Every time I have to hold that key for a good 10 sec! If not more.
So, at this point, I'm ready to start from scratch just to see what the differences are. I use punctuation as a person should. So therefore I don't want to hold a key for more than a second like on my G3.
I hope this helps the group, but I could use some feedback over the issues I'm experiencing. Ty in advance.

Clean start won't solve the terrible brightness issue. It will always start at 100%, it's utterly annoying.
Luckily I could install Lux as I'm rooted so that issue is gone for good :good:
Root? Already? How? Yes for G3, but no info on root for G4 as far as I've found. I just gave my info on how it played out on a restore to G4 from G3. Did I miss something? I'm not a developer or a coder, but I'm a good example of why those ppl exist. I'm not scared to get my hands dirty. Like a car. I do work on that just the same. I may not know everything, but I know how to play the field to score for said action. So... Root for G4? Pls share...

Use SD card (internal or external) to boost RAM

My Tab S has 3GB RAM of which 1.5GB is taken from the very start, rising up to 2.5GB or more, depending, and causing Chrome to unload tabs even with the "do not unload" flag.
Is there a way to use the SD card (internal or external) to boost the internal RAM? I think I could easily spare 8GB from the external SD card and that would almost quadruple my RAM and make things run much smoother.
It's not going to make a difference and will likely slow the device down.
Get a better browser than resource hog chrome or use the stock browser which by far runs the best.

If you have fast sd card, partition it: prepare linux SWAP partition of the size you want extended ram, rest will be for your data. It should just work after outing back the sd card into slot.

OK, I have made a Linux Swap partition, and put the SD card back in, I am not sure if the OS sees this new memory, using the built in task manager shows that I have 3gb of RAM, just like before. Is thre something else I must do?

Unfortunately I have tried plenty of browers and they all suffer in one way or the other, Chrome seems to be the overall best. And I am not a heavy duty web user, I try to do simple operations, like reply to this thread and currently I can see the characters being painted on the screen, is how slow it is. I am using the Adblock browser but it is also quirky and slow. I will have to go back to Chrome.

It's not ram so you won't see it.
Type FREE MEM into a terminal. You will also probably find there is already a swap partition.

That is another question, if you could help. My installation (stock) is missing lots of "standard" applications, like telnet, find, free and lots of other "basics"
Is there a way I can download them somehow, considering I am not root ?

They don't look like standard apps that I'm aware of.
If you need them download the required app.
If they are binaries that can be used in a terminal app then install busybox.

Badly needs help, Facebook app and Google play not showing content.

I'm running our of option, tried restarting reinstalling, updated to latest version not modded or anything, just stock firmware, phone is Zenfone Selfie. Any help would be nice
What exactly do you mean by no content? Is it just a blank screen? Are you getting any errors?

Yes.
You can't it's just the basic functions of the phone for the ultra powersave mode
There is a little "bug" you can use.
If you write an NFC tag to open your favourite app, this will always executed.
(If the screen is unlocked )
I use the app "NFC Tools" from the google play store, but in the settings from your P2 it is also possible to write NFC tags.
(My P2 can't write app shortcuts to an NFC tag in the settings)
If you want to use "NFC tools" you need the app "NFC Tasks" to execute https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wakdev.nfctasks
and "NFC tools" to write https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wakdev.wdnfc .

Lag issue.

Hello i just got my hands on a nexus 5x.Its so laggy.when i try to switch apps , like to skype or whatsapp it takes ages to open. The phone freezes. Its just kind of unuseable.I have nougat running anyway to fix this issue.i have root also.Games also dont run fps on shadow fight 2 on lowest settings are horrible.
I tried installing Ram managing app it showed 500 to 800 mbs free ram.So i have no idea what to do.

Firstly check CPU usage using e.g gsam battery monitor, and let it gather data for at least one day testing. If will be nothing special, go through next step.
Try to disable big cores when you have root. If it will help keep it disabled because it will bootlop when enabled.
If nothing happen flash factory image and test it one day without apps. If it will be okay without apps - you have obvious answer. If not - hardware issue.
