Problems with sound and video recording - Xiaomi Mi Max Questions & Answers

Since installing Lineage OS, with Pixel launcher, I haven't been able to record video using the stock camera, or any other camera app I've downloaded. I understand that having Ok Google enabled on any screen can interfere with recording, as it grabs the focus/microphone. But even turning off OK Google doesn't help, as I still get errors when trying to record video/sound.
Does anyone have the same issue, and is there any solution? Ideally, I'd like to still have OK Google on the home screen, but if it is interfering with video/audio recording, have it disabled for just that app. But, as I say, I have tried disabling Ok Google hotword activitation for all apps, and it makes no difference. I don't want to uninstall it altogether.

I have the same configuration as you do but I don't get any problem with camera recording.
I use footej camera from play store and not the stock one.
Have you tried reflashing the ROM?

Camera app with Bluetooth???

I have searched and can't find a way to achieve this but I need to record video but use a connected Bluetooth headset as the mic source. Is there custom camera app that can handle this? I used recording apps which work until I try to record video, it just refuses to record. Then I tired to use btmono but that did the same. Any ideas? I'm using my phone as a camera for a blog.

[Q] Audio Recording bug?

Hey guys, I've got a small problem with recording audio on my phone, the Samsung galaxy Note 3 Neo SM 750. Every 5 seconds or so, there's a small break in the audio being recorded. This happens when using the default Voice recording app, as well as any 3rd party app, like when recording a voice note in Whatsapp for example, or when taking a video in the camera app. As a result, now even when i record videos, the audio and the video are horribly out of sync.
Is this a mic problem? I'm using Stock touchwiz and i recently got an update to 4.4 kitkat. This problem seems to have arisen after that.
I would be most grateful for suggestions.
Thanks,
I have the same. After hard reset the problem fixes for some time, but the next day it returns. Impossible to use audio and video recording. I would appreciate any ideas to solve this.
Hello, I think I found the reason. Try to disable voice calling OK Google from any application. This seems to help.

Can't record video. But photos are fine

Hello. So I have my helium updated from global beta rom Xiaomi.eu from version 6.7.21 to 6.8.18. In the old version I have absolutely no problem in recording video.
In this latest version whenever I try to record the app will hang and freeze. If I try to use third party camera apps it would just say recording failed including Viber.
Anyone else having recording issues on this latest version? I have even tried rom from ajsmsg78 but problem still persists.
If I reflash 6.7.21 recording works again.
for me I had problems recording video when my google hotword detection was enabled from any app. Once I disabled hotword detection from any app and only use the hotword while in the google app, my video recording started working again.
Thanks Bryan your suggestion worked.
Guys - I love XDA - it's the BEST
Yes - this works - I can confirm. Yay.
I can confirm this works as well. It's super stupid, I don't get why that option should interfere with video recording, but hey, it's how it is.
By the way, slow motion and time lapse work anyway, who knows why...
Great news - now I'd rather we also reported this bug - cause I love "OK Google" that's half my thinking.

Google Assistant & HTC camera V7.50.658751 Bug

I'm using a Wolla V6.2 (Sense 8/MM6.0.1) custom rom. I don't believe this is rom specific but if I find out otherwise, I'll re-ask this question in the appropriate location.
So here is my issue. Whenever I enable "Say OK Google any time", the feature that allows you to say OK google from any screen, the HTC camera app won't record videos. As soon as I disable the always listening feature from Google Assistant my camera works as usual. I've downloaded some 3rd party camera and they appear to work fine with the Always listening feature enabled, but prefer the HTC camera for video recording. The 60fps 1080p recording is quite good, especially in good lighting. After doing some research it appears to be an issue with both applications trying to use the microphone at the same time. Anyone have any suggestions? Is anyone else experiencing this with Google Assistant always listening mode and the HTC Camera?
I'm using the latest updated Google Assistant and HTC Camera V7.50.658751.
This has been a reported bug as long as I can remember, since before it was Google Assistant (Google Now?). So it's not surprising that the problem persists on Google Assistant.
Don't recall any fix, aside from the workaround of turning off "Say OK Google any time".
Thanks for the response. Its disappointing that there isn't a real solution but at least I'm not alone. I'm going to try to find a solution using Tasker. I'm trying to disable the always listening feature when my camera app is open and re-enable it once I close it. I'll probably take this problems to the Tasker gurus if I can't solve it.

Audio not picking up during video recording on RealmeUI

Hi, I updated to RealmeUI on my X2. I am on Europe (RMX1993EX_11_C.02). Now when I shoot a video using the camera app, the video has no audio. I made sure my phone is not silent, and media volume is turned up. I tried to shoot video with other apps, e.g. like in Instagram stories or Snapchat, but still same issue. I checked my microphone with the recorder app, it's totally fine. I don't have issues with audio playback as well.
What would be the solution for this?
