re : Google's "ZERO" charging / financing with "Synchrony Bank" - revised ! ?
We are excited to provide you with a revised Google Store Financing credit card account agreement reflecting changes we are making to Phone Purchases, which are any purchase made with your account at the Google Store that includes a phone in the receipt and all other items purchased in the same sales transaction.
Click here to view the revised account agreement.
If you previously made a Phone Purchase with your account, you know that an Equal Pay Financing offer was automatically applied to that purchase with a 0% APR and 24 equal monthly payments. These terms were provided to you in the Special Promotional Financing Information section of your existing Agreement as well as in the online advertising. Effective as of 3/7/2017, these same terms will simply be a part of your new Agreement. This change can most notably be seen by the 0% APR for Phone Purchases in the Interest Rates and Interest Charges sections. However, we have also revised the How We Calculate Interest section and the Minimum Payment Calculation provision as appropriate. The APR for all other purchases and any other balances on your account is not changing. In addition, Equal Pay Financing and Deferred Interest Promotions may still be offered on qualifying purchases as explained in the Special Promotional Financing Offer Information section.
You will also be able to see this change on your next billing statement. Any existing Phone Purchases subject to the Equal Pay Financing Offer will move from the Promotional Purchase Summary to the Interest Charge Calculation section and any new Phone Purchases you make will display there as well. Please be assured that this change does not impact the amount of the monthly payments due on your account or the total amount you owe.
If you have any questions, give us a call at 1-866-794-8802.
Thanks,
Synchrony Bank
Yeah. I had an interesting problem with Synchrony bank, going back to my original purchase. I originally bought the pixel xl and a case from the store, assuming all purchases on the credit line were at 0%. I was wrong. They charged me interest on the case, incurring an unexpected $2 "minimum interest charge". I had set up an ongoing payment through my bank to cover the original monthly payment. I then received a past due bill, with late charges of $29 for the unpaid $2 minimum interest charge that was added after I set up bill payment. Needless to say, I was not pleased and called customer service and accused them of running a freaking scam. They removed the late charges.
TLDR: Watch out for these ****ers, and pay close attention to your monthly statements.

Yes there is. Checkout Fusion Voicemail Plus. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! and it's a free app.
Why is this in the ROM Dev section?
I'm more than a little wary of PhoneFusion. WHy would a "free" program require you to sign up with personal information like your mother's maiden name (often used by banks for ID) and include this lengthy paragraph about payment in their license agreement? Is this truly a free service or not?
15. Bill Payment.
(a) Depending on the Service packages and options chosen, Subscriber may be required to pay monthly subscription charges, enhanced service charges, and/or usage charges in connection with the Services, as stated at http://www.phonefusionone.com/primat.php. There may be additional fees if Subscriber requests a change in any Services. There may also be applicable taxes, surcharges, assessments, government fees and charges for the Services that PhoneFusion shall be required to collect from Subscriber.
(b) PhoneFusion will charge Subscriber the rates plus any enhanced service charges in effect for the Service packages and options for which Subscriber subscribes at the time of subscription, and as such rates and charges may be updated by PhoneFusion from time to time during the time Subscriber is a user of the Services. Some charges (such as, but not limited to, surcharges) may accumulate in Subscriber's account before Subscriber is charged for such amounts, or such amounts may be charged to Subscriber as assessed. If Subscriber has enrolled in a Service package and chooses to change the package, and if there are one or more days remaining on Subscriber's current subscription, Subscriber will be credited for those days in the calculation of Subscriber's charges. Subscriber's billing cycle starts on the day Subscriber's subscription is successfully processed. If there is a change in Service package, there may be a resulting change in Subscriber's billing date.
(c) Monthly subscription charges and enhanced service charges and related taxes (if any) will be billed monthly in advance. Usage charges and related taxes (if any) and other charges will be billed monthly in arrears.
(d) Subscriber agrees that all payments will be made to PhoneFusion via credit or debit card, issued by a U.S. bank, including MasterCard®, VISA®, AmericanExpress®, or Discover®. PhoneFusion may change the credit or debit cards it accepts at any time, at its sole discretion. Subscriber's name and address as it appears on Subscriber's PhoneFusion account must also be on the credit or debit account from which Payment is made. If Subscriber provides a credit or debit card number that PhoneFusion accepts for payment of Subscriber's monthly bills, Subscriber is authorizing PhoneFusion to charge the amounts Subscriber owes, then or later, to that credit or debit card account and to demand immediate payment from the card issuer. Subscriber also agrees to pay, under the terms of Subscriber's agreement with the card's issuer, the amounts charged to Subscriber's credit or debit card. Every time Subscriber uses PhoneFusion Services, Subscriber re-affirms that PhoneFusion is authorized to charge Subscriber's card. Subscriber agrees to authorize PhoneFusion to charge the subscriptions made online to the credit or debit card account supplied to PhoneFusion when the subscription was initiated, or the card that PhoneFusion has on file when the subscription is made. Subscriber agrees to pay all costs and expenses, including without limitation attorney's fees, incurred by PhoneFusion to collect any monies due under terms of this Agreement.
EDIT: Looks like after 30 days you have to pay for the speech-to-text function. No free lunch.
Moved as not ROM Development.
Been playing with this for the past hour and found some significant issues (for me, anyway). While the speech-to-text appears to work very well, when you click on a message to play it back it opens Windows Media Player. The problem with this is that the sound is now routed to the speakers instead of the earpiece and your message can be heard by anyone near you. Not a good idea if you want to retrieve your messages in public. The other problem is that there is a lag between the time the message is left and when you get notification of it. On my phone without FusionPhone the time it takes from when a call goes to voicemail to when I get the network notification is generally less than 30 seconds. With FP it is several minutes before I get notified. Not a big deal, but it could be longer depending on your network and location and if someone is trying to reach you urgently minutes could matter. I'm going to run it awhile longer, but not sure at this point if I need it. If you have multiple voicemail numbers and want to consolidate them into one place, this is a good solution.
Sprint change my plan without telling me. So instead of getting a discount on $130 now its only a discount on $110....which means I'm paying an extra 5 bucks more per month now. Can they do this?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
I'd say no but a little more info would probably help.
We've been customers for about 14 months and mine is unchanged as of my last bill:
Shared Plan
Everything Data - 1500 Shared Anytime Minutes Included $129.99
Employee Discount Sprint 25% -$32.50
Sprint changed my plan as well = I only get the Company Discount on MY line , so it's 110.00 ( minus 22 % company discount ) , 19.99 + 10.00 on my 2 other lines
Yeah this change has been coming for awhile. Doubt you will find it on here, but I think I read about it on phonedog.com

Yes Sprint can and will do this, and has done this in the past.
From my reading, it is not enough to get out w/o an ETF, as it seems somewhere int he fine print, Sprint is authorized to do this sort of thing.
nothing changed about the plan besiddes the way they calculate the discount.
this thread explains in more detail.

Just wanted to point this out regarding discounts. If this has been posted already, I apologize:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459640
Long story short, Sprint is changing the discount and/or have changed it whereas the discount only applies to the first phone on he family plan. Therefore, you now will have to pay the 19.99 for the second phone. But they mark it down to like 2.99 or something like that.
But anyway, this move will allow you to get out of your contract and have the ETF waived. You have to contact them within 30 days after the change. I currently have 5 lines, 1 for my wife, 1 for me and the other 3 for our daughters. I contacted Sprint last month to cancel my daughters lines because we're getting them prepaid phones.
Im quite sure what you're seeing on your bill is probably a result of this new change.

This will allow you to get of your contract and have the etf waived. However, you only have until your next billing cycle to contact them and let them know.
Also when I called them, they spoke to me about the rates of other carriers etc. But in the end, I asked them can I cancel my lines and have the etf waived...and their response was, "Yes...you can."
Also read the link in my other post that I just made. I believe some members, instead of canceling their service..opted to have their account credit for x amount of time.
So just call them and see what they say. This change was mentioned on the January bill that's due due this month. So if your bill is generated on July 19, you still have time.

it was posted in literally the post right before yours...
Here is another running thread about this and who is getting deals/credits/contract fulfillment, etc due to this change to terms of service:
http://slickdeals.net/f/3839688-SPRINT-Changing-T-C-again-Feb-2012-Get-out-of-Contract-ETF-free
For those of you with Family or Corporate Share Plans... Say you are paying a base rate of 129.99 (with a 25% or 32.50 off) It will affect your account. Line 1 will be charged $110.00 and all the other lines will be charged $19.99. You will get the 25% discount on $110.00 instead of $129.99 so your bill will increase $5.00 in February.
"ETF waivers granted for:
1) Customers requesting to disconnect within 30 days of receiving their first invoice showing an increase because of this change. As a courtesy, Sprint allows up to 45 days from bill date, so final eligibility date is 4/15/2012 for customers with 2/28 bill end date.
2) After official notification and before first bill with change.
Lines on individual plans on the same account are not eligible for ETF waiver. Customers with no bill increase, only a change in invoice display, are not eligible for ETF waiver.
For new customers activated on share plan and wishing to cancel because of this change, 14-day return policy is extended to 30 days and the phones must be returned.
MAKE SURE you have alternative ready when you call in case you actually need to leave Sprint!!
Those who are successful please post with your results - are you being noted as:
1) 'CONTRACT FULFILLED'
2) You have to leave by certain date
3) ETF credit back to you when you leave
I have a 200 security deposit for new service. My question is when will I get the money back if it's no contact
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
All you had to do was type your question into Google.
As for the "no contract", I'm not sure how that would work. Call T-Mobile and see what they say. Since there aren't contracts, it might go by two things: you are up to date on your payments and the phone is paid off. As long as those things are taken care of you should be able to request and get the whole amount of the deposit. If those things aren't taken care of, they will take the money you owe from the deposit and you get what's leftover. Like I said, call T-Mobile and ask them.
"You can request a refund for the deposit you paid at activation, as well as any credit balance or overpayment that may be made to your T-Mobile account. We refund deposits on final credit balances upon request, unless otherwise required by law. Interest is applied on deposits at the rate the law requires.
Note: If you have an outstanding balance, the deposit may be applied in any order to any amount you owe on any account. You also may be required to increase or replace your deposit amount.
If you would like to request a refund, please contact Customer Care. You will need to be the billing responsible party or an authorized user and we will need you to verify the following information:
The password for the account or the last four digits of the Social Security number that was used to activate the account
The mobile number for the account
The current billing address for the account
Note: Canceled accounts must wait 30 days before the credit balance can be refunded due to final charges that may post to the account. You can call Customer Care to request a refund for any remaining credit balance.
For deposit refunds:
You may request a return of your deposit after 12 months of active service with T-Mobile.
During those 12 months, your account must remain in good standing.
Your account must be current for the deposit to be refunded.
Customer Care will release the funds toward your account balance to cover any charges and then request a refund for any credit balance remaining.
It usually takes 2-3 days via electronic refund (preferred method due to time/cost) or 6-10 days via prepaid card once you have filed a request for the remaining credit balance to be refunded.
For credit balance or overpayment refunds:
If your payment was made by check, electronic check, cash, money order, or through a sales office, your refund request will generally be processed within 1-2 business days.
If you request a prepaid card refund, it will be sent in the mail 6-10 business days after your refund was processed.
Note: Check payments must wait 10 days before a refund can be requested to allow time for the payment to process through the bank.
If your payment was made by credit or debit card, your refund request will generally be processed within 2-3 business days and will be reflected on your credit or bank account within 1-3 business days.
For debit, credit card payments, the refund must be sent back to the original account
Note: Mailed refunds can only be sent to the billing responsible party.
Exception: Prepaid Service is non-refundable (even if returned during the return period), and no refunds or other compensation will be given for the unused airtime balances, lost or stolen prepaid cards or coupons."

Wouldn't a call to your carrier have been quicker?
Seems kind of harsh, or maybe its just me? 5% restocking fee whether its opened or not. Anyone care to share their negri return experience?
2.2.1 If you are unhappy with your purchase, you may return the unopened item within seven (7) days for a refund or credit, less a 5% restocking fee based on the list price of the item. This return policy does not apply to open box items.
2.2.2 If you choose to refuse delivery of your item, there will be a $25.00 refusal fee in addition to the 5% restocking fee.
2.2.3 After seven (7) days but before 25 days, all new or opened but unused items are subject to a restocking fee of up to 18% of the list price of the item.
2.2.4 After seven (7) days but before 25 days, non-defective, opened and used items are subject to a restocking fee of 18%-45% of the list price of the item based on usage, condition, accessories, and packaging.
2.2.5 After 25 days, returns are subject to our Buy Back Policy. Devices may qualify for coverage under the manufacturer's warranty in the country of origin or full coverage from a NegriCare Protection Plan if purchased during checkout or within 30 days of the original device purchase.
NOTE: Restrictions and/or exclusions may apply to nontraditional customers (i.e. shopAmex). If you have questions regarding this policy please Contact Us.
It's harsh compared to other retailers but it kind of makes sense from a small business standpoint, I mean they're not Amazon. IMO Americans are generally pampered with lenient return policies (though I'm not complaining).

True. While I can understand restocking fees, I can't see them charging you anything if you return the device unopened back to them.

They open everything before they even ship it to you.
It'd be hard to prove that you never opened it when they did.

I don't know anything about their return policy, but I and a bunch of others have cancelled our Negri orders because of some shenanigans that were going on. There's a 16-page thread in the general section which is now locked, but you can still read it. Just search for Negri. In my opinion, just stay away from them.

Yep. They wouldn't know the difference so they don't allow returns without restocking fees regardless.
