Galaxy Nexus in coming 2,3 years

Hey guys Im so confused of what to buy, as I dont want to cry i spent my money on a wrong device,
My main question is that is galaxy nexus the phone that u can rely on 2 or 3 more years ?
Is its build quality that tough ? battery that efficient ? (As many are complaining about screen and audio already)
My other variant was Xperia P, which has aliminum body and its very new in the market BUT no DEV. support...What should i do?
Please help me, seriously
Thanks,
IMO this phone is brilliant and will certainly be great for 2-3 more years.

considering to buy a One X - attractive deal?

first of all, hello to all of you XDA users!
as i am getting sick of waiting for the nexus 4 and bored with my modded galaxy s1, i am considering to buy and HTC ONE X (non Plus).
you guys think, it is still an attractive deal? of course i read all possible reviews and saw all videos. the only thing which keeps me hesitating, is the thing with the battery life. is it really such a FAIL? of course i am ready to root it and get it on with other ROMs...but the battery should last 1 day like my galaxy with casual usage.
the other option would be a SGS3 but i think the screen is a bit too dark for me. brightness is more important for me than deep colors. would you guys still consider buying the ONE X today? as it is getting near 400 € now, i think i should give it a shot....or are there any serious problems with the phone i missed?
thanks in advance for some opinions.

Well it's still a great phone, battery imo isn't the best if u play games and listen to music but if u casually use it, then its finet at least for me it is, other thanthat no problems u can always go aosp for better battery too
thanks! any opinions how the battery behaves when using camera for taking pictues? i like to take pics on holidays as i dont use a regular camera.
If you are considering playing games expect to sit near the charger, because the battery will drain in approx 2 hours if you play some graphics intensive game. I can't confirm bad battery life while listening to the music or watching videos tho. I always get with my stock One X 1 day uptime with normal usage and charge it over night. If you are on JB you can use the stock power saving feature and achieve even more than 1 day uptime with normal usage.
thank you for the answers. i will have another look in the next store...its my favorite phone right now. the ONE X+ is not available here in the stores. online its over 500€ so the regular ONE X will have to do it.

[Q] Buy the One X?

Hello everyone
I've been searching for a replacement for my galaxy S1 and where I live (Austria) the HOX is sold at 329 for the 32gb version.
Seems a decent price in my opinion only thing I'm concerned is overheating and battery life.
Do all phones have this problem or is it just some of them. Surly I'm not gonna try to replace the battery on a new phone.
Thanks in advance

I have my HOX since the release and it only becomes hot when you're playing graphical intensive games. But even then it's not overheating.
I can use my phone over one day on one battery charge, which is enough for me.

1 - You'll have a job replacing the battery, its non removeable.
2 - My HOX has only overheated 1 time in the 8 or 9 months I've owned it, and that was because FB was on a crash loop.
3 - Thats a great price for the HOX!!
4 - Battery life isn't bad, but it isnt amazing either. With some tweaks you can easily get a full day of use though !
I had One X since it was released
it's one of the best phones I had in my life
It's really fast and great for gaming and every day use, I had an issue after updating to JB (official unrooted sense) and I got a boot loop.
anyway this happened to other brands, and the support was quick to reply (though I'm in the middle-east)
and considering the screen size and the quad-core and tegra 3, the battery is fairly not bad
and there is a power saving option in the latest update
pros
1- it's fast
2-the costumer care is great
3-the camera is amazing
4-the games looks great and fast
5-the phone gets warm sometimes but normal heating NOT overheating at all
6-the wifi works good for me
7-it doesn't need a screen protection since it has (Gorilla Glass) , months of heavy daily use now.. not a single scratch
and one of the things I like the most about my HOX is the perfect design and building materials, you'll love to hold it
cons
1-it doesn't have S-OFF.. might be a problem for some
2-it doesn't have and SD slot.. but 32 GB is more than enough for me
3-the speaker is not the loudest in the market, its a little less than average, not a problem for me
so overall , I'm happy with it and I advice you to buy it
Yes!
The only problems I had with the phone were to begin with Stock....
Since I've been using custom roms, like Lextermina or Renovate, there are no more errors to report :good:
So at all, i can recommend the Hox for u!
Greetings Tilt
Ok thanks for the assuring informations.
Then I'll simply go on and buy one!
I'm sure it will be a fair improvement compared to my old phone

htc one x now

hello guys...
i am a long time user of sony and samsung....
i just saw this cute htc one x (black) it is cheap and beautiful.... im so attracted with this phone....
but,
i dont have any idea using htc products its battery usage, performace, durabilty and so on etc.
with this htc one x for over 2 years since its announcement,
how far good is this phone guys?
is it still worth buying even if its 2 years ago????
pls, give me idea and advice,
hope someone will help me this.... thanks....
Hello,
My opinion is that this is still a great product and still relevant.
Its biggest drawback is its battery life, but about performance and reactivity level, there is nothing to complain about.
If you use it in a soft way (not heavy usage), battery will last one day, if not, stay close to your battery charger.
Good performances in games, really a very good product, and many devs here, so many ROMs to try.
Best regards
Franky
Hello... Thankyou for the responce... So is it ok to avail now?

If you can go for something better like the nexus 5, go for it. In my place the price difference is very minimal. My advice is spend some extra money and go for something better.
Performance is pretty good for something from 2012.
Durability is very good! HTC imo are the best in that regard.
But, I don't expect this phone will get the next version of android port (I still hope it does). Like @fgth90 said if you only use your phone for light usage, and you can deal with a slightly limited battery life, you should do OK with this phone. Just don't try newer phones out there or you might get jealous of their performance and end up frustrated with yours :crying:
Hmmm guys im not on max usage... It would be as my backup secondary mobile... Im up to social media such as fb,twitter, skype etc. And music... Games just a bit average not that too much...
I would like to know if it will fit those needs and if it can still hit satisfacion with no regret..

It's not worth, screen has very common problems, the battery is gone very fast and you can buy better phones for the same price.
Its a great phone at a great price if the serial is high and you buy from a place with warranty your good best phone I owned in a long time
I really like this phone but you really need to ensure you buy a device starting with serial 603 or higher. Besides this you have to ensure you buy the international variant like 815 eu so you can unlock it! Warranty would be fine to have as well just for sure.
The worst thing imho is the display but only in terms of battery. It takes a lot of battery power which is annoying.
Here the unlockable variant has many advantages like you can install a custom ROM fixing several things and many options for saving power.
One can say that the average battery life on an unlocked device is about 3-4 SOT or 1-1.5 days usage before you need to power it again.
If you game a lot it totally differs though but this should be obvious.
Buy this or another? Well hard to say. I personally like this phone a lot but you will find many frustration on the g4 forums mainly coming for the bad start this device has. Just search for bootloop here and you will know what I mean. Really just use the XDA search to make your own picture.
That's why I would not buy any g4 with a serial lower then 603 because LG has addressed that issue and my both 815 devices have absolutely no problems since 10 months.
But.... It's your decision
