No SIM card issue - LineageOS Questions & Answers
Hi all,
Am running a Galaxy S5 (klte) which I'd been using CM13 on without problem. I moved over to Lineage at the weekend - full factory reset, clear cache/Dalvik, use latest TWRP to install Lineage and re-install everything. So Saturday, Sunday, Monday everything fine. Then switch the phone off overnight (as I had done on the other nights) and switch back on this morning. The phone boots fine, no sign of any issues - but I don't get my usual "Enter your SIM PIN" screen, it boots straight to the desktop.
Can't access anything to do with phone functions and the signal icon sits as a triangle but hollow, a bit like when you get zero signal strength... it's not the SIM card with a line through it (no SIM card) icon, which is odd. Trying to access settings to select a network, or go for auto network detection draws a blank (can't access SIM card/network).
I've gone back into TWRP and cleared the cache and Dalvik again and the problem persists. I took the latest nightly (2017-02-13) and flashed that hoping it might fix it, but also no joy.
Any ideas without me having to factory reset the device and re-install everything again (pain!)
Thanks,

I had this before as well. I was able to fix it using the correct modem and bootloader software. After this, it worked fine until I did a restore with TWRP. All restored but the modem was not working. I discovered a ADB command to easily fix it but I lost the bookmark for this page. ATM I am looking for this command. Something like "ADB SHELL /AUTO ....."
If you find it, please post it here. I do as well.

Solved not solved
Well I've been playing around a bit more testing to find exactly what it is causing this issue.
It's system profiles. I use these extensively with triggers so my phone connects to my car, goes on vibrate at work etc. With system profiles active (whole menu turned on) the issue occurs. With the profiles off, it's resolved. It does matter how the profiles are configured (I tested with just 1 profile and all settings on "do not change").
So this is something for the Lineage OS team to look at and fix in a later build because as it stands system profiles are broken, at least for klte. Does anyone else have a different experience on their device and what device are you using?
Thanks! It worked!

In my case I only had to turn off the whole System Profiles general button.
Same for me
I have done exactly as the first post and my sim is also not working now when it was fine. I have a Galaxy s3 i9305 lte. It's just says no sim. I have Lineage 14.1 and have updated to the latest nightly. Any ideas how to get my sim working again?

On my S4 Mini LTE the profiles seem to sometimes stop the home button (long press) pulling up last apps used even though the button works fine as two quick presses gives me split screen. I think it's automotive profile that activates when it connects to my car Bluetooth that is the cause, but not sure as haven't had chance to pull a log.
Same here on Motorola Moto E XT1021, tried getting CyanogenMod 13, but all the mirrors are down and I don't feel like getting Android from not trusted source.
It's definitely a problem with the ROM because everything works fine on different ROMs, but on Lineage there is no SIM card detection at all and nothing seems to help.
I'm trying to get older Lineage ROM hoping it will work.
Consider removing and reassigning the PIN

What software was on the phone you first locked your SIM in?
Sometimes a SIM will respond to a config file that might be absent when you flash a new ROM.
If you can put your SIM in a different device that recognizes it, use that device to disable the PIN.
Then power down and eject it.
Then, re-insert it into the problem device to see if it works.
If it does, re-assign a PIN using that device.
Hey. Yeah that sounds like a good thing to try although I removed Lineage and have a stock KitKat rom now and works faultlessly. Still have root access and the s3 doesn't need a later version really. Tbh I would have been happy staying on kk if it wasn't for the tech industry moving forward with their software development! How dare they!

The trick with disabling the profiles works nicely on my Xperia T with the CM based Resurrection Remix ROM, android version 7.1.2.
XT has no main Profiles button, so i deleted all the profiles manually and restarted the phone. Now trying to find out which profile caused the problem.
.....
Made several new profiles, restarted the phone after each one, but the problem didn't turn back. I think it has issues only with the built-in profiles.
Thanks for the tip man!:good:
Single Sim Working Dual Sim Not
In my case when I remove both the sims and put in only one at a time regardless which slot or which sim it works but when I put two in together it doesn't, driving me to believe that the lineage is not supporting dual sim and is failing hence when both are inserted.
I am running Lineage OS 15 on my S7, and other than a few glitches, the SIM card issue is the only significant problem I have experienced. I have looked through the settings, and I found out that my baseband version is "Unknown." I tried flashing some files, in an attempt to fix it, but I still have no luck. I hope someone fixes this problem.
Hope this helps...

On the latest Lineage build, I was having the issue with it not reading my SIM, so here's what I did:
-clean install of lineageOS (wipe, install rom, install gapps, and install Kernel)
It wouldn't read my SIM at this point, so I
-factory reset
-installed LG G3 Tekcafe VS985-49A_stock (I'm sure any rom would have worked though)
-installed Lineage over top of this rom and wallah! everything works great!

It's gapps...
Hola!
I am experiencing the same issue and I relate it to the gapps.
The sim works perfectly fine with normal lineage OS. With gapps the sim doesn't work. Reproduced 3 times.
Hello, I'm using a Grand Prime SM-G530H phone with LineageOS 16.0, and here it says, no SIM card but I have a card running normally, I uninstalled Lineage and installed the stock rom, and it normally worked the SIM card, but when I installed it back Lineage continued the same error, what can be ???
My Galaxy S5 somehow detects a Sim Card which is not even inserted. The signal strength showed at the screen is the same as the wifi strength, but never at zero. But if I try to call someone it says no sim card detected. Of course boy there isn't. The problem is that inserting the sim card changes nothing. Same Problem. I switched from lineage to the original firmware back... HELP

No SIM-Card (lineageos or StockRom)
Hi, I tried yesterday to flash lineage on my GalaxyS5 (with Odin 3.12.5 and TWRP) First, everyone looked pretty good, but my phone did not recognize my SIM card. Other modem and boot loaders did not work. The SIM card works fine befor.... After many hours of trying, I have now decided to switch to Stock-Rome 6.01. No root, completely original. But.... Again, here is the same problem. Wipe Cach or Firmware was carried out. Without success. Did I break with the lineage flash something? Currently it shows me AP: G900FXXS1CPLV CP: G900FXXU1CPJ1 CSC: G900FDBT1CPJ1 Any Help? Thanks
Try turning off system profiles completely from the settings menus. See if that works - had the same problems. If it helps, ale sure system profiles don't change the settings of the lockscreen, make sure the option in each profile is always set to "system default".
I'm on an HTC one m7 with lineage and just noticed it's saying no sim card. It was working, a quick Google suggests a handful of others with the same issue in the last week or two. Issue with the nighties unlikely?
HTC ONE M8 SIM/Radio problem?
Got this phone from a friend and immediately flashed the last CM 14 Rom before they shut down. Flashed the experimental Lineage Rom then started the Nightlies. It's on the most recent Nightly now. The issue I'm having involves the SIM card, and now bluetooth (though that only happened once). I can't get it to connect to the network. It was an AT&T phone originally, and yesterday I finally got it unlocked to use on T-Mobile. The card is registering, I see the triangle in the status bar, but none of the solutions I've found can make it connect (the card works in another phone). When trying to connect to the network it eventually just times out. I can't even add APN settings as they won't save. This morning it forgot previous bluetooth connections as soon as I clicked on them. I'm thinking I need to flash an older radio.img but I can't find anything that isn't almost 3 years old. In addition, I can't keep the SIM unlocked. It asks for the SIM unlock PIN every time the phone boots, and the Security setting option is grayed out so I can't even turn it off. Any ideas? Is this all related to being S-on? Based on what I've read, I was under the impression that didn't matter anymore.
8.0 update made mobile data not work
I have the Honor 7x, and recently update to the 8.0 Oreo android update. Immediately after the installed the update in the morning, I noticed that my mobile data was no longer working correctly. Wifi can connect, I can make phone calls, send text, literally everything else about the phone works perfectly. A day later I got another update 8.0.0.332, however I am still unable to access my mobile data. I use At t for my phone service, and do not have any damage to the phone (havent dropped the phone, water damage, etc). My friend has the exact same phone, with the exact same phone service, and got his update the same day without having any issues. Thing I have tried in attempt to fix the problem already based on google searches: I have tried turning my phone into airplane mode, waiting, turning off airplane mode (also with trying a hard reset on the phone). I have switched my simcard to slot 2. I have put my simcard in another phone, and verified that the sim card is still working properly (the other phone was able to access data just perfectly). I have tried turning off 4G data, and putting it back on. I have tried resetting the APN back to default. I have tried manually typing in my APN. I have also tried network setting reset. And finally, I have tried a factory data reset. Running out of ideas of what else to try, hoping you guys have some ideas to help me out with this problem Much thanks.
Flash a ROM and see if that does anything, if you want. Another thing to do is to do what the post below mind says, thanks. Mobile Radio Power Not Staying on
Hi all, So today I was updating Havoc OS to the latest build on my OnePlus 3, everything went well but it was only later when I either made of received a phone call, I would notice my network signal on both my SIM cards would disconnect then reconnect some time later. Ive tried rolling back to the previous version I was on and still receiving the same problem. Ive also tried stock Oxygen OS, Lineage 16 and Resurrection Remix all with the same result. Just to check to be sure, I removed the back panel and cleaned all the antenna connections and same result. Ive been into the phone information screen (*#*#4636#*#*) and tried manually turning on and off the radio power and still no joy. Ive also put both the SIM card into another Duel SIM phone and there working fine. If anyone has had some sort of experience with this sort of situation, your help would be greatly appreciated. :good:
Did you ever fix this issue?

Has ANYONE figured out how to clear the cache (partition) ? I updated yesterday, without reading anything first (I figured it was "stable", right ... ), and now I can't get my mobile-network to work (either 5G or reverting to 4G, including APN reset, etc) for more than a few seconds at-a-time. I chatted w/support, who of course told me to clear the cache (I've had this fix other network issues in the past, stale DNS and such), and seemed puzzled that the option doesn't exist, in Recovery-Mode, you can only do a full-format, period... So, I'm hoping someone here figured it out?

As such, I'm sort of locked out of both my Authenticator apps, which seem to not like the fact my mobile-data is sketchy (seems reasonable, actually), and then want to reset things, of course using SMS, but they require the codes to be "timely", which circles back... Support is lost, if you ask me, they seemed confused about the cache issue, until I sent a pic, and then they just wanted to wrap up the chat, with no actual solution, other than "we'll have someone contact you in 24-48", which I seriously doubt will happen. It's weird, almost like OP doesn't realize people use their phones for critical tasks, or they don't care, it's hard to say. If you go back and read some of the B2 threads (apparently the last B2 build was the release), it's more obvious that you shouldn't upgrade, and I wouldn't have, if OP had mentioned this, anywhere, in the release-notes... I shut down backup/restore, right away, so I have a A11 backup, sitting there, now I just need to go find the right APK (support also had no clue there) and matching MD5 (yeah, I'm sort of paranoid about this), and cross my fingers, toes, and more... ;-]

Yes, but even if i had the 2nd sim card slot, im not sure that this would have been solved this mobile network issue.
How to wipe caches: Requirements- Root, computer, platform-tools How to - Dalvik through adb: sdk/platform-tools/adb shell [email protected]:/ $ su system [email protected]:/ $ cd data/dalvik-cache/ [email protected]:/data/dalvik-cache $ rm * [email protected]:/data/dalvik-cache $ exit [email protected]:/data $ exit Or Cache through fastboot: sudo su fastboot erase cache
