wat up peeps.
I was wondering if it's possible to downgrade using a ruu.exe file i found on androidruu.com called "RUU_HIMA_UHL_L50_SENSE70_HTC_Europe_1.32.401.17_Radio_01.01_U11440261_56.02.50306G_2_F_release_429340_signed_2_4.exe"?
I have an HTC one m9 europe, codename: hima_uhl - MID: 0PJA10000, SKU: 401 - CID: HTC__001 and im currently running 4.14.401.7, also im completely stock (s-on, locked, official)

That won't work. Read the readme post at the top of this forum (the RUU section) for a full explanation.
hi,
i have read the readme as advised and i saw the following:
"This means on the other hand, that downgrades from 4.x to lower firmware versions aren't that easy, either. You need to flash a 3.x NoWipe or a 3.x Full-Wipe Firmware Pack before you're able to use 1.x, 2.x or 3.x RUUs, again."
can i flash the firmware 3.x full-wipe on the nougat using the adb commands while s-on then flash the ruu for the marshmallow using the sd card method?

Okay my original Cid is H3G__106 and I'm super Cid now, I downloaded htc 001 nandroid backup and changed my Cid to htc 001, as well looked for updates but the update fails in philz.
I need the newer firmware for the new viper rom. (4.4.3 base).
How can I get it?

Did you try to convert your device to international? MID and everything changed to International version? I'm not sure what the MID is for your device but if it's different than 0P6B10000 (International WWE) then it had to have been changed as well before you can convert to WWE version.
401.5 ? For what, 1.54.401.5 ... 2.22.401.5 ?
If you don't want to convert to International, rather go back download your backup from the collection thread and update your device to newest firmware from there.

The guides that I saw are for changing AT&T into Developer Edition or [GUIDE] S-OFF REQUIRED!! full conversion of GSM m8s to dev edition
Even though it's converting to a developer edition the philosophy behind it is the same when you change to WWE International version. Just use the correct backups, firmwares, MID and CID.
In step 1 you'll follow the thread and use the code for the HTC_Europe MID (0P6B10000).
For step 2 you'll just use HTC__001 as as the CID
Step 3 you'll grab the nandroid backup + stock recovery for the WWE International version (x.xx.401.x ) Rather use an older version like 1.54.401.5/10 and do updates from there, it'll be easier if you don't want to manually flash firmware and OTA's.
If you continue the way he has it in his guide then you'll get the firmware from the OTA collection thread(Just extract it from OTA.zip) or you can get firmware for device from mike1986's Androidrevolution.org
It's for a different device but the idea is the exact same.

1.54.401.5 is old Venom ROM version no.
H3G__106 firmware is : 1.54.771.9 (for 4.2.2) and you need the updated firmware 2.22.771.5 to run Venom 4.4.3
So download the OTA 1.54.771.9 -> 2.22.771.5 thanks @houstie, open it with 7-zip, extract out the firmware.zip and flash that in RUU mode.
Then reflash Philz recovery and install latest Venom ROM ...done

Why not. Twrp is not "better" than philz and vice versa.....
If you want ViperOne, you'll want to switch to TWRP. It's on the OP on their thread.
Also, the super id I use is 11111111. Try that and see if it works.
Sorry I didn't quote you Mr Hofs, but I'm not sure how to yet on tapatalk.
EDIT just figured it out. Next time
Trying to install Android Revolution HD lolipop, i have tried installing it but it just gets stuck and reboots into recovery. I need newer firmware but i can't find anything that supports my model and cid. Any help would be appreciated. Or can i flash firmware that does not have my cid somehow ? What are my options?
TWRP 2.8.5.0
Current Firmware: 3.11.1700.5
S-OFF
0P6B12000
cidnum: CWS__001 AT&T
I think i figured it out:

Vomer's guide pretty much covers it. You can change your CID since you are s-off. And you can make it SuperCID 11111111, which allows you to flash firmware for any CID (SuperCID essentially "passes" any CID check).
You can also try the firmware for the US Dev Edition. Its Lollipop firmware, and intended to be used on AT&T's network:

Looks like you're running the GPe conversion. If so, you first need to get back to the Sense partition so follow the 'Back to Sense' thread in General and then flash the Sense-based ROM of your choice (along with matching FW package)

I have an AT&T International Unlocked HTC 10
I had to revert back to stock recovery since I flashed twrp and was told I need to have stock in order to accept the OTA. According to MID, I have the 2PS650000 Model listed on @topjohnwu 's thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/stock-stock-collection-recovery-ruu-ota-t3359297. I flashed the CID: BS_US001/BS_US002 | MID: 2PS650000
1.53.617.5 STOCK Recovery img listed there.
There issue is that after downloading the OTA, the phone goes into Recovery and says it is expecting a different build fingerprint. (Shown in attached image)
What is the deal? What should I be doing or am I doing wrong?!!?

Well, I did.
you need to use a 3.x RUU for the same SKU and install the 4.x OTA, afterwards.
But it doesn't work.
I'm trying to upgrade to Nougat, but I get red triangle after 25% and I can't find an solution to this problem.
So you still get the triangle after you flashed the correct 3.x RUU? Or is the triangle the reason because of which you want to flash a RUU?
In your last post you asked which RUU to use and that is explained in the RUU section.

Triangle is the reason why I want to RUU.
I went 'back to stock' with TWRP backup to update to nougat, but I get stuck at 25%. I'd like to try RUU to see if it makes any difference, but the few I tried won't start to install.
I see a lot of people have problems with updating to nougat and getting stuck at 25%, but seems no one was able to fix this problem. Failing nand? Phone works 100% OK otherwise.
Well, in that case you only need to follow the advices in the ReadMe thread. A RUU should fix the red triangle for the present. However, it won't guarantee that you won't face any nand issues in the future.

I managed to RUU and after OTA update to nougat by flashing the RUU rom.zip (renamed to 0PJAIMG.zip from micro-SD) from this post:

Hi,
I have an unlocked Australian HTC 10 (CID:HTC_039)
I've been running Viper 10 from Venom ROMs but sadly that's ceased development. So I'd like to switch over to LeeDroid (or even back to stock rom and root) and get the Oreo update. However as far as I can find HTC haven't released an RUU for my device. So I'm thinking perhaps I could use sunshine to s-off, then change my CID (though I'm not totally sure yet how that is done) and use an RUU that way to get the Oreo update - I should then be able to install LeeDroid as well with Oreo I think as the RUU will give me the firmware for Oreo?
I'm concerned that I could loose my cellular and/or Wi-Fi and other radios though? which would be a serious issue... I read about changing radio firmware - do I need to do this and would it break my connections? perhaps change the radio bands it supports?
Thanks for helping out a total noob!

Thanks for the reply - Can't believe I never found that RUU... In any case I've used sunshine to S-OFF and changed my CID & MID to accept an RUU for US-Unlocked at the moment. But I can't find an oreo RUU where the MID and CID are known so that I can flash it to get the firmware updated and make it compatible with leedroid (based on oreo)
I've also lost cellular connectivity but that happened before I S-OFFed so I hope that's just fixable by formatting everything...

So for anyone following along behind it all works fine - although the Oreo update is basically uninteresting IMO. Probably staying on Viper 10 Nougat would have been better...

Right now the custom ROMs for the HTC 10 all seem to be based on Nougat firmware - if you follow the steps I gave you you'll end up with oreo firmware - so if you want a custom rom don't follow those steps - just install it now using TWRP (assuming you are running Nougat at the moment)

Yes you can. You need to be on Oreo firmware for his ROM. you need to S off your phone and change CID, I recommend you follow the guide in the link above, debrand to WWE using RUU.zip. Just follow that guide step by step and once you have the phone running take the OTA to Oreo then flash twrp follwed by leedroid ROM
Edit: because you flashed leedroid rom then went back to Nougat you want have baseband but once your running Oreo rom it will return.

Wrong RUU. there is no RUU for WWE yet and that RUU won't flash unless you have Oreo firmware. So like I said follow the debrand to WWE using RUU.zip. the RUU is posted in that thread all you have to do is follow the Instructions. Once everything is done and you have flashed the RUU boot the phone up (you won't have radio) use Wi-Fi to take the OTA to Oreo. Flash latest twrp because RUU will flash stock recovery then flash leedroid ROM.
So steps would be
1: Obtain S OFF
2: Change CID to HTC__001, MID is the same so don't need to change that.
3: FLASH 2.41.401.41 RUU
4: Take OTA
5: Flash latest twrp, a new twrp was posted yesterday
6: Flash Leedroid.

Should be all good. After OTA boot the phone make sure everyone is working. If you want to after that flash twrp then leedroid. :good:

Yes. modified firmwares as well. As you took OTA to Oreo there is no need to flash any firmware.
