Hi there, I was looking for some ideas about a bizarre battery problem with my daughters xperia zl.
I know this model has had many issues with the battery dying, the net is full of threads about it.I like the phone and have replaced the battery before, and am usually up and running for quite a while.
The last battery died, and I ordered another to replace it.Here's the thing though, the new battery is working when the phone backing is off and is connected to the mainboard. When I install the battery in the phone, and then connect it, it doesn't work.
I find this really bizarre, maybe something is shorting out somewhere?I kind of suspect it could be something to do with the grounding cable (strip that runs across the bottom of battery), but if that was the case, why would it work when the battery is connected outside the phone?
Has anyone else run into a similar scenario?Any ideas would be very helpful, I haven't come across an issue like this before...
Thanks
Turned out to be the battery...
Turned out to be the battery.
I like the phone and finally got around to ordering another battery.I guess it can be hit and miss when it comes to replacements.Hopefully, this one that came from Turkey will give me at least another year or so of use...

my htc s621 is randomly turning off on itself. i notice it does this either when it is feeling warm, or when im outside and the weather is a little chilli. i thought it might be a battery problem but i dont want to waste the money buying a battery if its not going to solve my problem. anyone encounter something like this before? any help or advice would be much appreciated. thank you.
had same issue a while ago. i solved it with a new battery...
you can check if your battery is bloated by making it spin on a flat table. if the battery keeps spinning, then it means you likely need to get a new one...
Probably the battery. I'm still managing with my original battery but I talk and text very little. When I put it under a heavy load like browsing, it shuts down. Doesn't do it when it's plugged into AC.

i have the same problem. I have buy a new battery on "battery update" (Hong Kong web site) payed €20,00 (almost £18,00) ..perfect!
But i must say that..unfortunately ..since i use 3evo roms...battery seems going crazy! Maybe i wrong...however
my batter is almost 4 years old but only from few time it's seems "go away"!
i't happens since i use often dash for watch divx and listem music !
task manager say :"battery backup 255% status high but "mAh" are very down!! Change your battery mate!
I have to concur. The same thing was happening to my phone over the past 2 weeks. Purchased a new battery from ebay (~$10) and everything is good to go. In fact, with the latest 3vo Rom, in the past 2 days my battery has been lasting longer!

Hello every one, i'm new to this forums and this
is my first post so if i'm doing something wrong
please excuse me.
Lately i bought a Xperia Play from ebay but it
has some problems..
when i turn it on it drains the full battery in less
than 15 mins and become very warm without
playing any game or doing anything, also my SIM
card is not working i tried 3 difirent operatos
but i always get this message "Your sim card
does not allow a connection to this network".
so im wondering if anyone experienced this
problems before and is there anything i can do
to fix this myself
I have the SAME problem and after looking in the internet for 2 months this is what i came up with:
This is caused by placing the battery is wrong side (- with +).
TriQuint TQM7M5013 is the damaged piece and should be replaced.
However i just ordered a new TriQuint TQM7M5013 and its on its way, once i replace it I'll report if it fixes the problem.
TriQuint TQM7M5013 picture in attachment (by addictivesundew)
oh and the metal cover is a heatsink and can be removed with a hot air soldering station without ripping it like in that pic
UPDATE: Remplaced the TriQuint TQM7M5013 and phone working fine now
wazzup bro
look from where did you order it and how much???
is there a shop in rabat ??
no i didnt find it in rabat, i bought it from hong kong they didnt want to sell to me in the first time because they sell only big quantities.
by the way i sent you a pm.

Moreover, even when you plug in the charger not charging? only shows the loading icon but then not charged and only the LED flashing red?
how can I do to fix?

xperia play battery issue
hello all i have an xperia play R800i and recently i have to switch off the device for charging, after that i can switch on and the system recognize it
when my phone is fully charged if i disconnect it suddenly reboots and after that works ok. but the battery only last a day. if i try to connect to pc happens exactly the same.
i need some guidance beacuse i dont know what to do, (i tried a factory reset but still the same)
i will appreciate your help.
So ive noticed my battery levels jumping all over the place. Im not sure if this is a physical problem with the battery or just the OS battery app being strange. When charging it jumps up +50% in one go and sometimes drops again. Im on bindroid rom, so almost stock.
Device is only about 9 months old but gets a lot of use. Im a bit wary of samsung batteries as ive had heaps of trouble with my S4 battery.
Has anyone seen something like this? Ive attached a screenshot.
hey, read this.. common problem with this tablet. I no longer have it but warranty replaced part on my. before i got rid of it, it work fine after i got it back..

I'm at a loss as to what's going on. A few months ago I was changing up my ROMs and went to charge my phone and left the room. When I came back I was smelling that dreaded burning circuit board type of smell. Now none of my stock USB cords work with my stock charger. In fact I have 50 or so USB's and the only one that will still work is an old one from my Samsung device.
Just today I got a quick charge 2.0 and plugged it in and to my surprise it worked! Then about 30 minutes later noticed it was not charging. Hold the phone up to my nose and sure enough I smell a slight burning smell again. Is my device no longer going to be able to charge normally? I can't think of anything else to do. Could it be kernel related? Any help or troubleshooting ideas would be wonderful. Thank you so much guys!
Seems like that is a problem with your phone components not with software.Tell me about your battery life.If you connect your phone to a PC did your phone charge?Did you tried changing your rom with the original one?

Thanks for the reply. PC only would work if the cord being used was one of the 1 or 2 that actually work. I did have a little increased battery drain that seems to be decreasing my battery about 30% or so faster than before. I was going to investigate further, but it wasnt at an alarming rate as of yet. I honestly chalked that up to the ROM. I have Multiboot installed and CM6 is the same...100% hardware issue at this point...just not sure if the root of it started from the kernel or not.
I do have an update though...so it seems the part that burned last night was the final straw and now even the 1 charger that worked won't do anything...seems like I'm dead. Took it into Sprint (I have insurance) and they are going to replace it. Sadly looks like it won't be here until Tuesday. I tweeted Sprint about the issue and they'll be calling me shortly. If my insurance/warranty covers my issue and it's believed to be a defective phone I do not understand why I should be without a phone for 6 days. At the very least give me a loaner...but even that doesn't seem to be the best solution for an issue such as this. Good news is my phone won't take a charge so there's no need for me to try and make sure they can't tell I'm rooted.
Sprint used to be really good about customer service w/ having phones overnighted to your house or in store exchange. Those are distant memories now though.
Ig that helps you.My phone is in the repair store too and a guy from HTC told me that the repair for my phone will last for 40 working days ).So...6 days it's a WONDERFUL period.I am not so lucky as you.
P.S.They just have to change my camera module.
Heey everyone,
My phone has some serious problems. I'm talking about percentage not showing correctly, because of that the phone will go off at random. As the percentage that is shown (for example 43%) is actually a lot less (it's actually 0%). And when I try to turn it on, the phone must be charging, otherwise the chance of data getting deleted is almost 100% (I think around 85%). And with the data deletion problem comes the storage problem, because the data is probably still on there but not accessible by android or something and therefore my phone can't install updates now(the apps are all stock) even though they were on there the moment the phone shut off.
I hope you guys still understand the situation, but now my actual question
Because these problems are all the cause of a faulty battery, I want to replace the battery with a new one.
I couldn't find replacements for our butterfly 3 phone, but there are ones for the M8, M9 and M9+.
These batteries look very similar and I actually think they are the exact same size and they do have the same connector.
Since so many things are similar between the M9/M9+ and our Butterfly 3, I thought those batteries also fit our phone.
But since taking the phone apart is not easy and of course risky, I would like to ask if anyone here has taken apart a HTC (HTV31) Butterfly 3 before.
If so, could that someone please tell me how this phone can be disassembled and maybe even tell me what the size and the connector of the battery are.
I could of course just buy a new phone, but this phone is the only one on the market(!!!) that fits all my needs. And replacing the battery is cheaper than buying a new one. As I got lucky somehow that I didn't have to pay any taxes or anything when I bought it around 1.5 years ago. And the prices on ebay are definitely higher than back then.
If any of you has some other ideas to solve my problem or has a better phone with almost the same specs, then place say so
PS. If it's possible to use the battery of the M9, then I will try to put a larger capacity battery in it, as this capacity is a bit low.
you can go to taobao.com, look for the battery.

Thank you!
The website with the tutorial doesn't load unfortunately, but as I almost bought the battery for the M9, I am happy I now know they aren't the same.
Thanks again.
EDIT: Turns out that the images don't load. Do the images load for someone here? Would very much appreciate it if someone could upload the images somewhere.
I have the exact same problem with my htc butterfly 3
