Ringtone volume issue .. - Moto Z Play Questions & Answers

Beginning of the ringtone is vey low . How to solve this ?

They're pushing out a fix for this - and the low notification sound - any day now. I think it's incorporated within the December security update.

Low notification sound

I have a problem with different roms on gio. Specially that are on stock based..
The problem is that I select a mp3 tone for the notification but when the notification rings it's sound is low, even I have made the volume of the notification full in the notification setting.
And If i apply the same tone on the Ringtone it rings high...
I am unable to settle this matter and I don't know what is the main problem????

Having the same problem here, with a friend's phone... :/
Try ES Task manager
Download it free from market
It has option to adjust volume, including system volume which is not available in the general option.
I have same problem before but it fixed with that app

How to get access to system volume?
It's a little better...
But with all volume's at max, the notification sound is considerabely lower than the ringtone, even when they are the same.
Must be a bug from samsung...

What sound of notification do you use ? It probably has low volume level rather than the ringtone itself

I have downloaded it but I can't see any changes made to the volume, for me its still the same. Volume was at 100% before installing it for ringetones and the others.
I guess its the speaker in the phone that can't provide higher sound.

Let me explain myself...
I hava put a folder with the name of "Notifications" on the microsd, so that i can use personalized tones.
When i define some of them as a ringtone, they just sound incredebly high.
If i put the same ones as a notification sound, i almost can't hear them...
I have all volumes at 100%. It surely is a bug from the rom...
I went on Enhaced Gio 2.3.6 Stock ROM. Same problem. Notification sounds are very low! It's a bug, I'm sure, but how can it be fixed, anyway

I have tried several roms and the sound quality is still low both for the notifications as well as ringetones I miss quite a lot of calls when I am outdoor. I read somewhere that modification of kernels can help to get higher sound volume, and I hope some developers can help us with that.
try changing the system volume with this app and see if the problem is solved https://play.google.com/store/apps/...NvbS5zbWFydGFuZHJvaWRhcHBzLmF1ZGlvd2lkZ2V0Il0.
Already tried... At max, stays the same.
if thats the same for every android version and not only GB then unfortunatly something might happened to your gio
all sounds in my gio is very low, is the speaker has broken? is there any suggest to fix it? sory for my english

Incoming Calls too loud

Hi Folks,
I need your support. I´m using the Viper Rom 3.2.4 and I would like to change the volume for incoming calls.
The lowest volume is still to loud, people around me can hear what the caller say.
Do I have a chance to change it maybe in the Build Prop. ?
Cheers

Has no one an idea?
Little Update!
After changing the settings in the File, I have problems with the sound.
Can someone provide me the standard settings from the Build Prop. File?
Thx
I don't know if your issue is related to your ROM, but having too high lowest volume sometimes happened to me on the stock ROM after reboots. I (accidentally) found out raising the volume a few steps, then taking it back down will make it go to the actual lowest volume.

[MOD] [lux] Disable ascending ringtone

Annoyed by the fact that motorola is still proposing in each new device this irritating ascending ringtone I tryed to look into the system and found a fix
It seems to work for me, but let me know if it's ok in all your different scenarios and devices :good:
What's needed:
- TWRP recovery
Instructions:
- Download the "fix" zip and flash it through the TWRP
Download
Mirror
(NB: in the download section you'll find two files, one is the "fix" and the other is to revert to "stock" )
Please, let me know

Tested this fix on my Canadian (XT1563) Moto X Play on Koodo, and it works for the most part.
The volume for ringtones, alarms and notification begins much louder than they initially did before applying the fix, but it still seems to start off at a lower volume and ascend to the set volume level. However, this fix does actually make the initial volume clearly audible nonetheless so I will say, it could use some tweaking but is still, overall, a working fix. Thanks.
EDIT: To give more detailed feedback, I looked into the files and noticed the stock starts attenuating at 36 and moves through each of the 16 levels while gradually attenuating less and less at certain steps. The fix attenuates 0 across all 16 steps. However it sounds like it is still attenuating at approximately 3 or 4 at the first few steps then moves to 0 attenuation. Not sure why as the file clearly shows 0 attenuation across all 16 steps. Maybe it's just my ears not hearing it properly, or maybe it's the ringtone itself that has additional attenuation. I'm using the "Hangouts Call" ringtone.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll check that! I was happy with this result so I didn't compared the same sound from the music player and from a call.
If it's still not at the max volume I'll try with other settings/files when I have time
same problem here
waiting for an update when u have time
thanks

Well, just renaming or deleting "audio_ext_spkr.conf" in /system/etc/ works fine for me

I got hold of Motorola product developement. They said that it is not a glitch, it is something that was requested by Google and is set in the hardware of the phone so it can not be changed.

I read that changing region allowed to have a higher sound. Try to change region and check if there is a difference in sound volume...

One thing you can do is to manually edit the headphones default RX1 and RX2 values in mixer_paths.xml using root. Other than this, there's no other solution. Wait for a new OTA.

I only have one region. China.
Changing the region to North Korea gives a higher volume...

9.1.0.346 destroy speaker again

After Patch03 we get such great speaker but with the new 9.1.0.346 C432 (maybe 347 for C636) update it's bad again.
Is there any way to go back?
For me is the same as 320,no Problems at all,for Infomation i make a Factory Reset after 346 Update.
What you mean with it is the same? It's like you change the speaker!
Dont know what they did with this update.
Bad speakers, apps randomly closes, battery drain, and it feels everyrhing is slow.
Hope patch coming asap.
Hmm... 9.1.0.347 (C636) is doing just as fine as the previous 9.1.0.320 for my including the speaker!

I put 320 firmware to sdcard, this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ldrX2lBqgnphaPKhSu6FfbNZ3LpBvGej/view?usp=sharing
Its 3 files you put to sd.
Then in the home screen dialer, enter *#*#2846579#*#* -> ProjectMenu -> Software Upgrade -> Memory card Upgrade -> OK.
It verifies and reboot, and installing 320 firmware.
But anyways, im back to 346, no force closing apps or lag anymore but the sound is still bad, patch is coming hope it not take to long.
Sound is still bad with EMUI 10 Stable and Android 10

With 9.1.0.320 (C432E3R1P12patch03) update we get so much better speaker and with 9.1.0.346 and now 10.0.0.180 they are trash compare to 320 update.
I don't know how but they are almost on Tab S52/S6 level with 320 (patch03) update. Sound is much richer, bass and 30% volume is already loud, like you change the hardware.
What exactly is the problem? Please describe... I'm holding back the update, as I read sound degraded massively... like, only half of the speaker volume?
thx
Edit: ah, didn't see prior post. It describes what I read somewhere else.
Is audio through BT or headphones affected?
I don't know, never use Mate 20X with audio over Bluetooth.
I also ask Huawei but like always the support is useless.

You have to use Hisuite windows to downgrade te 9.0 (click update and previous version twice) to see if the problem solves and post.
