I read that changing region allowed to have a higher sound. Try to change region and check if there is a difference in sound volume...

One thing you can do is to manually edit the headphones default RX1 and RX2 values in mixer_paths.xml using root. Other than this, there's no other solution. Wait for a new OTA.

I only have one region. China.
Changing the region to North Korea gives a higher volume...

Hi Folks,
I need your support. I´m using the Viper Rom 3.2.4 and I would like to change the volume for incoming calls.
The lowest volume is still to loud, people around me can hear what the caller say.
Do I have a chance to change it maybe in the Build Prop. ?
Cheers

Little Update!
After changing the settings in the File, I have problems with the sound.
Can someone provide me the standard settings from the Build Prop. File?
Thx
I don't know if your issue is related to your ROM, but having too high lowest volume sometimes happened to me on the stock ROM after reboots. I (accidentally) found out raising the volume a few steps, then taking it back down will make it go to the actual lowest volume.
I search everywhere and i not find solution for low in call volume problem.I try in service mode but the audio is blocked.
Any suggestion?

there is an application called Volume+. It can "overboost" your in call volume but it only works on CM roms and MIUI. Which kernel are you using?

its because Volume+ supports CM ROMS or MIUI only. can you please go to your /system/init.d folder and check if it has a file called "volume" something or anything related to volume? Also as i can see in the ROM's threat there is a patch for DSP presets. Did you flashed that?:
Patch for CM10 DSP Preset, install via CWM: http://www.mediafire.com/?m173fudfet9f26s

that´s odd
i don´t know if you have a problem with your speaker, but you can install a equalizer app, and do a voice modulation enhancement:good:
by doing this, you can customize, what you ear:victory:
Same problem here. GIO, CM 7.2, Android 2.3.7, AUDIO IS BLOCKED.

i mean that you can play around with an equalizer app, to fine tune what you ear
i tune mine to give more bass, that´s an example, that´s the way i like it...
you can tune yours the way you like it, thus try to fine tune that the voice of people, comes out, more louder:fingers-crossed:
i use the equalizer app, that comes in cyanogen 10 rom ( maclaw )
hope this helps:good:

Thanks.
I used Poweramp witch has equalizer but for me call in volume need higher when talk with somebody.
As far as I have understood, call in volume/ringetones can only get higher by flashing a kernel that allows it, so far I haven't seen any for Gio. Otherwise an equalizer can help to get a higher volume out of the speaker
Actually, I have experienced the low in-call volume problem only in CM 7.2 firmware. The stock one sounds loud enough.

If Volume+ isn't working for you because of your kernel try this

Nice try. I've almost believed.

If you haven't tried the latest V4A, download the latest version from this thread. I think you'll find it does what your looking for. However, you do have to be rooted. :good:

Nor sure what, setting you're using with viper but playback gain provides at least a doubling of max volume. Use v4a_2.5.zip for a fully functioning viper in 8.1.
I am facing a weired speaker problem after updating to soak test Oreo. It rattles when the volume is above 80% . I did tried it hardway. Replace the speaker with a similar speaker ( got from an old lumia 520) .. then the rattling got little less.. but its still there.. very noticeable on YouTube playback..
Btw.. i think its an os problem.. because my brand new pixel 2 xl had it when it was on android Oreo. But now its almost gone after pie update.
There was no such issue ( even with old speaker) when it was in android 7
Is it only me or if you all guys have it??
Please give feedbacks.
Try it after installing v4a, adjust the settings until you achieve a minimal amount of rattle.

If you are running OPP28.85-3 soak test build, update it to latest OPP28.85-13 (also soak test build) using adb sideload or stock recovery. Speaker problem has been fixed in this Oreo update. All of the updates for retail Moto G5 have been uploaded here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BkpfHvgQ477NViLYvzgv88Fgq3SSt5Py (xda thread link https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/how-to/cedric-ota-archive-t3795275).

Thank you brother. The speaker problem is fixed. But the fun thing is.. volume reduced from previous build. 28.85-3 when i updated to 28.85.13.
But anyway its far better than the previous rattling condition.
Thank you again..
logical, it is not a reliable version, it is a version soak test

@radiumkernel for future kernels
After Patch03 we get such great speaker but with the new 9.1.0.346 C432 (maybe 347 for C636) update it's bad again.
Is there any way to go back?
For me is the same as 320,no Problems at all,for Infomation i make a Factory Reset after 346 Update.
What you mean with it is the same? It's like you change the speaker!
Dont know what they did with this update.
Bad speakers, apps randomly closes, battery drain, and it feels everyrhing is slow.
Hope patch coming asap.
Hmm... 9.1.0.347 (C636) is doing just as fine as the previous 9.1.0.320 for my including the speaker!

I put 320 firmware to sdcard, this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ldrX2lBqgnphaPKhSu6FfbNZ3LpBvGej/view?usp=sharing
Its 3 files you put to sd.
Then in the home screen dialer, enter *#*#2846579#*#* -> ProjectMenu -> Software Upgrade -> Memory card Upgrade -> OK.
It verifies and reboot, and installing 320 firmware.
But anyways, im back to 346, no force closing apps or lag anymore but the sound is still bad, patch is coming hope it not take to long.
Sound is still bad with EMUI 10 Stable and Android 10

With 9.1.0.320 (C432E3R1P12patch03) update we get so much better speaker and with 9.1.0.346 and now 10.0.0.180 they are trash compare to 320 update.
I don't know how but they are almost on Tab S52/S6 level with 320 (patch03) update. Sound is much richer, bass and 30% volume is already loud, like you change the hardware.
What exactly is the problem? Please describe... I'm holding back the update, as I read sound degraded massively... like, only half of the speaker volume?
thx
Edit: ah, didn't see prior post. It describes what I read somewhere else.
Is audio through BT or headphones affected?
I don't know, never use Mate 20X with audio over Bluetooth.
I also ask Huawei but like always the support is useless.
