Note 7 kicked off Australian networks - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Okay, So I've got my note 7, I rooted it yesterday and installed a custom ROM, downloaded Titanium backup and blocked all the things I was supposed to block to try and prevent my phone from being disconnected from the networks.
I tried to make a phone call earlier on and I get the message saying "this device has been blocked from Australian Networks" blah blah. I'm on the Telstra network as is my wife,
I did the same with her phone, and she still has full access to networks including phone calls. I don't know why I've lost mine and she hasn't.
Well ****. Weird thing is, though. I still have access to internet, 4g+ and the ability to send text messages and I have no idea why I can't make phone calls. So I'm turning to you guys to try and help.
Have I been IMEI blocked? I've been reading about the xposed framework, and a free app I can download that masks my IMEI to seem like it's a different phone. Will this work?
Thanks guys.

Changed my IMEI and it's still telling me the handset is blocked on this network. Kinda hope I can get phone calls back, if not, Samsung won. I'll have to hand my phone back

Did not work. Still telling me it's blocked.

before network blocked, you have update or something?

Nothing. Was freshly rooted, titanium backup was given su access, blocked everything I was told to for packages, went to work, got 1 phone call for the day from the wife, tried to call her a couple hours later and nothing.

Interesting, we are okay in Toronto so far

IMEI can only be changed illegally from pros..they have ads on EBAY for $25-$50 to do such thing. Its illegal so I can not say its the right thing to do. Im only saying thats the ONLY way to change one.

Also I am using a NOTE 7 Poer on my Note 5 and I keep getting the POWER DOWN and RETURN Messages...hahahaha..i bet they shut that phone down too...LOL What a blipping mess!!! SAMSUNG has WENT wayyyyy TO FAR THIS TIME!!!

Really? I've used an app and it's telling me it's changed in system info and when I dial *#06#? Is that just masking it?

No idea how to change it.

[Q] Phone Not Allowed MM#6

Hi, I have a ATT Note 2 and I keep getting the error "Phone Not Allowed MM#6" every time I turn it on. I can press the OK button and get to the home screen and use the phone normally except that it cannot send or receive texts or calls (emergency only). I am on the Solavei network and has been working fine for a few months, but the other day it just stopped one morning after I woke up.
I bought it from a store and he has assured me it wasn't stolen or anything like that. And the Solavei customer service could not get it working after several resets and whatnot. They sent me a new sim card which I have not received yet, but I am not very hopeful about that working... My WiFi works and I actually get signal bars but again, no 4G, no calls, no texts...
Is there anything I can do in the settings or anything? My phone does not have any custom roms or anything like that, just the regular ATT/Samsung Android 4.1.2. The only thing I changed on it was the option to enable the T-Mobile bands (Youtube: How to Enable T-Mobile 3G/4G AWS Bands on AT&T Galaxy Note 2 SGH-i317!). But I also tried without those bands and that didn't work either...
Please help, thanks in advance!
Try a complete factory reset with Odin. But that error sounds to me like someone reported the IMEI as stolen

Go into your local store with the original recipt. They should be able to either tell you who reported it or give you a refund

there can be two reasons.. one is when you tried to change the bands on your phone there are more possibilities your IMEI on the phone would have corrupted and that is reason you might be getting that message, and second reason can be some one reported the phone stolen and it is blocked from the service provider end..
to validate that check your phone IMEI by dialing *#06# if that shows your valid IMEI then your phone must have got blocked by the service provider or incase if the IMEI shows some thing like null or 00/0 then the phone IMEI is corrupted, I can help your fixing your phone IMEI if it corrupted.. let me know if you still having this problem
Thanks everyone. I called up ATT and they confirmed that the phone was reported stolen. So I took it back to the store I got it from and he said that sometimes this happens so the company can get the insurance... Regardless, he reset and rooted my phone and it works again. My IMEI number shows up as well. Now the only thing is that I am not able to get all of the T-mobile bands back. Does anyone know about this?

[Q] No Network Access on Galaxy Note 2 ATT

Hello my name is Stanley, I recently bought a Galaxy Note 2, I'm from the Dominican Republic so I'm using Claro Dominicana, which uses the same baseband as AT&T, basically instead of the signal bar, I get a circle with a straight line on it, I don't have data, I can't make calls, I can't send sms, when I try to call I get no network access message, I believe it does recognize sim because I don't get any type of error when my cellphone boots up, when I bought this cellphone it wasn't rooted, so I decided to root it and flash a rom, I'm having same issues.
Can you guys help me out please? I already have my APN information but it's not helping, I've tried flashing roms and it's not helping, I really don't know what to do, when I first bought it, I tried my sim out and it did have internet, I decided to do a factory reset through settings menu and after that I haven't been able to get any type of signal, I would deeply appreciate your help guys, I'm getting kind of desperate here.
No signal bars means no modem or a sim card for a dead account. Did you pay for any airtime?

I did try it, I'm pretty sure is unlocked because it was just working before factory reset, I guess I can try to do it again, but I'm pretty sure is unlocked.
I tried several roms and modems and nothing worked, the last thing I did was going back to stock through Odin, but I still get same circle with the line on it, a stop sign, right now I'm on 4.1.1 stock..

i don't know if this might be an issues or not, but check your IMEI. T-Mobile webpage has a method to confirm if it been blocked or not.
http://www.t-mobile.com
As of August 8th of 2013, they've re-designed their webpage.
http://www.t-mobile.com/bring-your-own-phone.html
following that link, scroll down until you see this: "Don’t see your device?" and under that, a search box. click on the link below that search box. it'll bring up a screen within the webpage. input the IMEI from your phone (*#06#) and avoid adding "/ ##" as those aren't part of the IMEI. If it report as stolen, chances are, they probably blocked it. If not, then maybe your provider doesn't support the phone itself. you might have to call customer service from your area.

I couldn't find information about my imei using that webpage, it wasn't able to locate it, I used this webpage which said is clean http://swappa.com/esn I don't know if that page is good, but it says it's clean and ready for activation.
Try a friends sim card to rule that out
If the phone worked on your network before you rooted and flashed the new rom, then I imagine you must have flashed an incompatible modem. If you flashed stock back via Odin and that didn't fix it, I'm scratching my head. Try stock again. Then remove and insert the sim or toggle airplane mode. If it worked before, stock should fix it.

Hello guys, in this case it was actually a hardware problem it seems that the internal antenna of the cellphone which receives the network signal was damaged, I'm already getting it replaced, I'll let you guys know the results.

Do you know what was damaged. Is it the wire connecting the USB flex or is it the antenna built into the back housing?

[Q] Locking an unlocked Sprint S3

I bought a Galaxy S3 from Gazelle on eBay. Though it was listed as unrooted, it turned out to be. Because of this, Sprint could add it to their network, but the phone wouldn't go through hands free activation. We tried entering the MSL/SPC code they had on file, however the phone would not respond to it. I unrooted the phone, and installed the stock 4.3 rom. Though, it would still not take the MSL/SPC code. This led me to believe the phone is unlocked, which turned out to be correct. The SPC is 000000, and when a call is made, it forwards to Verizon's customer service.
This being said, am I correct is needing to set the SPC back to the correct one? Also, when entering ##000000# I added my phone number as the MDN, and the MSID from my previous phone as the MSID. However, the MSID did not take. It's still saying 0000009088.
I've been at this for 13 hours now, and have ran out of ideas.
DFS CDMA Tool results in an error "GET SEC_CODE CPS_ERROR BAD_SPC_MODE" when trying to change the SPC code.
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks!!!!

to be clear you do not have to "lock" your phone for a carrier to use it on any network its just them being pricks if they suggest it as they are trying to sell you something. and i would call verizon to release the phone from their system as thats probably whats causing your issue as it isnt allowing it to move off network thus preventing sprint to put it in to their system and allowing you to acctivate it. otherwise it sounds as if youve done everything else that i would suggest.

also i may be asking a dumb question but is this a verizon version of the s3?

Well, I just got off the phone with Verizon, they asked for the HEX of the IMEI, I read the 'HEX' on the sticker on the back of the phone to them, however, they said they could not find that device ever being on any Verizon account. This came a little odd to me though. When I view the 'IMEI' in the about menu on the phone, it shows as all zeros.
EDIT: I just noticed something as I was checking what the IMEI says.. MEID in the about menu, is different than what it is on the sticker!

Someone else sent my text to my friend

Wondering if my phone got hacked. I am running infamous rom on tmobile. Tonight my friend received my text messages from another number, and when my friend questioned who he was, he either didnt seem surprised or he was just playing along. If my phone did get hacked, do you guys have any advice like a system format, a setting I can change, or should I call tmobile directly?
Thank in advance

I'd call T-Mo directly and advise them of the situation. You might ask your buddy if he would participate and allow his carrier to use information to find what phone did the spoofing, and they can track the user via the IMEI number that is recorded when transmission is initiated. You MIGHT be required to have a police report to get the tracking done, so you ought to consider making the report to your local PD.
Be SURE your buddy isn't jerking your chain before you do anything, and I'd probably want to SEE the TM before any action on your part.
Aloha and Good Luck!
Bobolinko's advice is correct and the best course of action.
But to answer your specific question about the phoen being hacked...No, wiping it won't help. Neither will installing a different ROM or anything else.
If what your buddy is saying is actually happening, it's most likely not that someone have hacked into your phone and is remotely sending messages from your phone. It's far more likely that someone intercepted your cell signal, hacked the IMEI number (as stated above) and applied your IMEI number to another device, thus cloning your phone.
That message to your buddy came from another device entirely and never went through your phone at all. The problem is that this is very hard to fix. You can't have T Mobile jus tblock your IMEI number because then your phone won't work either. T Mobile can't distinguish between your phone and the cloned fake phone because both are broadcasting the same IMEI number, which is the identifier T Mobile uses to use your phone.
Have you left the United States recently and used your phone in another county? This whole scenario is vey common in Russia and other Eastern European countries. People got there on a vaction, use their phone, and immediately the phone's IMEI is captured and stolen. If you had mobile data turned on or used wifi, the user data on the phone is also likely compromised. Meaning all passwords, etc.
If you haven't left the US, it's much less likely, but still possible this is what happened.
Someone could have also physically looked at your phone, wrote down the IMEI number under the battery, and cloned it that way just to screw with you. No intercepted radio signals or anything. Just good old fashioned "copying the key". In that scenario it's almost certainly someone you know (unless you are in the habit of leaving your phone completely unattended around strangers).

Connecting mobile data issues

I'm having trouble connecting to the data even though I'm connected to the carrier services.
I'm able to make calls and access to texting. Any one else got similar issues?
I have to use my WiFi to use the internet.

Quick shortcut maker is my friend
Ok, short and sweet and to the point. Until or unless you root this thang. Quick shortcut maker is my friend since the lg g3. Network issues. Use it. No root use it. This is a wonderfull tool. So that being said there is the device info where you can choose network, hint to you is choose unknown. And on the other menus it unlocks choose global. Well it's kinda that easy. But you just gotta fool with it. You knew it was coming when you bought this phone. So buck up and just do it

If your like me you love this stuff. I try to get any phone I can that the networks can't chase. Call it old habits. And I'm gonna say I love this phone and I loved the rm3. I knew when I bought this phone what I started. I also bought it less then red magic sells it for and hot it on April 20 th. It's full on Chinese rom. Ver. 2.46. red magic support says mid May we will finally have a global rom. Liars I say. But get out that quick shortcut maker and shortcut master. And mess with it. Oh it's radio info. My bad. Set the network to unknown. It's the only way I could get data, mms, internet and phone calls every other setting either gave me phone no data, or data no phone. But unknown gave me both and click the 5g on.
