I recently bought a phone from Freedom Pop for one of my kids, I not a fan of how the phone uses there dialer and there text message app so, i want to revert the ROM back to the Sprint stock ROM and i'm running into some issues and i'm stuck
I have download the rom from here http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyS3/SPH-L710
i'm using Odin3 v3.09 (i have also tried and older version did work)
and I have installed the drivers for the phone
when i start to flash the phone i receive a fail error

I think i have ran into the issue before with another Sprint Galaxy S3 that i root and then reverted back to stock but don't remember how or what i did to fix, I think it's related to the ROM but i need help as i'm trying to give this a gift for son for christmas
solved - i found another room from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/confirm/41671/L710VPUDNJ2_L710SPRDNJ2_SPR/ that worked with no issue

The ROM that it ships on from FreedomPop is pretty much the Stock Sprint ROM with minor changes. You can just uninstall/disable the applications mentioned.
You should follow the instructions here if you want to use ODIN and flash the unmodified Stock Sprint ROM.
EDIT: Oops missed the second post
I just used TWRP. I've never used Odin.

My question is: Can this be fix with Odin? or do I need to fix a shop that can repair the EMMC? if it is the latter, does anyone know where to find a trust worthy shop with in the San Francisco bay area?
Thanks

Get the tar file for the most recent TWRP and Odin that. Boot into recovery and factory reset. Try booting normally. If that fails try to Odin the UVALJ1 tar by MrRobinson. (2-3 times). Try booting normally. Once you can boot normally go ahead and try the MK7 tar.
Phone can't go to recovery mode but can still go to download mode.

USB driver installed, tried different ports, different roms, usb cables
can anyone tell me what I can do?
Flash nk2 firmware instead of mdl and see if that works, there may be some remnant that won't allow you to flash ancient firmware.
Don't sweat knox, its harmless.
Pp.
Thanks! it works now.
Hello all,
I have a Samsung Note 4 from sprint. I tried rooting my phone earlier and then it just began to restart over and over. I researched and found some solutions which none have worked thus far. Maybe someone can help me out. Current things that I have tried.
1. Rebooted the device and did a factory reset and clearing the cache hoping that would fix the problem. The phone just continued to restart.
2. Next I downloaded the original firmware for my device that I found. The name was GalaxyNote4/SM-N910P/5.0.1/N910PVPU1BOB7_N910PSPT1BOB7_SPR.zip I tried using this and got the Fail! using Odin3 V 3.10
Here is what the Log says:

What firmware/rom did you start with? Sounds like you were on something beyond OB7, like OE1, OF5 or OG5 none of which will allow downgrading to OB7.

Ive tried all different stock firmware and all of them do the same
You were running kit kat when you tried to root? I ask because that is what you're trying to Odin. If you were ever on lollipop bootloader beyond OB7 you cannot downgrade.
Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
Hey all I'm not sure what happened but I reflashed to stock KitKat and while I did that I installed all the newest updates to receive Lolipop and after I finished that I downloaded CF-AutoRoot. I rooted it and got stuck with a bootloop so I went into the stock recovery and erased everything. So I repeated step one by reflashing KitKat and now Odin is giving me an error and it isn't working.

Any ideas? I'm about to pull my hair out
So you took OTA updates to 5.1.1? If so, you can't go back to KitKat which is why Odin fails. You'll have to Odin OG5 tar in order to get back to working order. CF autoroot won't work on 5.1.1 either and probably gave you the bootloop. You'll have to flash a modded kernel or entire prerooted 5.1.1 ROM to get root
I think I got it to work now
