So my xperia play 4g has bent sim card pins. They arent missing...just bent. I was wondering if i could unbend them or if there is a way to replace it without replacing the entire mother board, or even if i do have to replace the entire motherboard....where can i get one? I bent them because of those stupid micro sim adapters...never again!
I had that happen the first time I got my play. I ended up getting it replaced. Did you happen it put the adapter in the phone with no sim card in it? I've been using an adapter now for a while with no issues since the first usage other than having to use a paperclip to remove the adapter cause it is slightly thicker than a normal sim card and sticks.
exactly..i was dumb enough to put the sim adapter in the slot without a sim card in it....when i tried to pull it out it came out...but i wasnt able to put my normal sim in. i can see it with a flashlight...its bent. i need to find a way to remedy this.
Goodluck man like I said I ended up getting a replacement phone.
SIM Issue
I have inserted working Sim Card (not AT&T) and when I restart my phone it still shows me "emergency mode" no Sim. I was trying to unlock my phone.
I have cut my old regular SIM card to Micro and use the same adapter which came with the Sony Ion LT28at. OR I don't have to use that adapter.
I am stuck now because I purchased this phone from ebay (no return).
Is it a Sim card try problem or other? ?
Please help..
I have a GSM Galaxy Nexus I bought used (so no warranty), and somehow the USB port got pushed in. This makes it hard to charge since the cables don't really make contact anymore. I can still charge it but I have to plug the cable in like 6 times until it finally makes contact to charge. So my question is, what can I do? Since its used I don't think it has any kind of warranty so I guess that's out of the question. If I opened up the phone to expose the motherboard, could I re-position the USB port to its correct position? What would you do if you were in my situation?

Here's a link showing how to repair it. It's for VZW gnex but should be similar.

I would just get a spare battery and external charger and swap the batteries every morning. Im not too much of a soldering kind of guy so if you are, then best of luck opening it up and seeing what the problem is. You can also take it to a local repair shop or mail it into an online repair store and dont think the cost will be more than 40-50 dollars. But good luck and hope it doesnt get anymore damaged.

if you have the sprint total equipment protection, take it to a sprint store with a repair center and if the tech is any good he will know that the charge port is replaceable on that phone. i change them for customers all the time...

Same problem exactly!
I just ordered the flex cable from Aliexpress. Waiting for delivery which may be a minimum of 10 to 15 days.
Till then I am using an external charger to charge a spare battery.

What you can do is order the part, its $4 to $5. Then you ask a local shop to replace it.

Just change the Flex Cable and still the same problem
Hi everyone, I have a 32gb AT&T M8 that I unlocked the bootloader on and converted to the dev edition. My charging port started going out so I ordered a new board, the one with the 2 connectors but my mic is no longer working. I have double checked the ribbon connection and the two pin connectors but nothing has helped. Any ideas? Will the newer one pin board fix the problem if I leave the blue pin unhooked?
Thanks in advance,
