Yea dude. You're not gonna get support on a banned phone, duh.
But that doesn't mean Verizon is going to stop giving you data.
MODS, please lock/delete this thread.
False fear.

Is that why instead of getting porn I get a Jamie Fox Verizon commercial?

Can you force it to use Verizon Data?

I think people use the PRL mod to force it to use verizon voice. Can it be forced to use verizon data? I can't seem to get more than 200k in LA and it is making me hate Sprint in ways you can't imagine. Sometimes the hack to eliminate the proxy server helps but l wish I had held out until Verizon had a comparable phone.

That prl does both.
Edit: just don't go over 300mb and/or 50% of your used minutes a month unless you want to get booted out of your contract... Which it sounds like you do.

Thanks. I have a pretty good contract I haggled for with Sprint which I won't get on Verizon but I might go check out the Galaxy Nexus. I'd keep my phone if it worked for LTE on Verizon as I'm thrilled with the phone.

If you use 800 minutes band more than 400 of them are roaming that might trigger a letter or contract canceling.
And don't go over 300mb and month. That's pretty straightforward.

I got a warning letter a month ago for going over 200mbs data roaming. And I know of a few others back in my hero days that got terminated for continuing to exceed the data roaming limits.

I got the boot! Flashed the 00001prl and downloaded about 2 gigs over 2 days. I called retentions and told them im fed up with all this roaming. She looks at my usage and immediately said "we wont hold you hostage," and set me up to port my numbers and close my account as soon as i do so with no etf.

If I ever could get a connection better than 20Kbps, I might be able to hit 2GB by the turn of the decade.

asian islands? lol are there that many asian islands?
anyways I usually get someone from either the US or india.. It really matters when you call.
But you just dial 611 or the regular customer service number and then say cancel/retention when they ask you what you need help with.
Ask to speak to loyalty you'll get someone English I hate calling t mobile for anything it ruins my day I have a local store that help out alot and usually makes the call for me lol
Try their customer care online chat, its much easier and you have everything on record.
I say that because they have promised me upgrades when I renewed my plan and merged another line then when I went to use them they said I was lying.
To make a long story short I got 2 out of the 3 upgrades they promised me,by having a store rep go back in my files and finding the note cc said wasn't their. Got 2 that way, then I went last week to use my third they said there is no record of the note but they will gladly give me a partial early upgrade,"oh and they are not able to erase the notes so I must be lieing again" lol
i guess there is a black island? cause every time i call its a black chick with an attitude answer the line.

Tmo Rep here. As far as I know there isn't a direct retentions line. The only people that can get you there are the customer care reps. There are certain departments that are outsourced which from what I can tell are the Prepaid, Activations, Number Transfer, and some Tech Support Departments.
If you are getting automatically connected to the Phillipines (I can tell a lot of them are Filipino since gf is Filipino. After spending time with her family I can identify that accent easily lol), you may just want to call back and try again through the automated system. If it doesn't understand your selection, a lot of times it will for some reason send you to a random outsourced department. (It's happened to me many times)
What I usually do when I'm helping customers reach retentions, is from the cell phone, call 611. When it asks what you want, say something like plan change or feature change. Since it is something that the robot voice can't resolve for you, they will transfer you to a normal American customer care rep as long as you are on a postpaid account. From there, don't ask to get transferred to retentions or customer loyalty. Just kindly say that you want to cancel a line and they will immediately transfer you to the right department.

google voice allows calling and texting to canada/us/mexico for free. plus, google voice and sprint have some kind of partnership where your google voice number can be your main number.
I don't remember ever being charged for texting to Canada on SERO with my Treo. I would hope SERO P is no different.
Lol once again mixed answers but I'll use Google voice, thanks

I'm from Canada. I call my family and text them like every day. With your sprint number ported to google voice you can simply text n call like normal from ur epic (don't have to do from GVoice app) no charges.
When i first ported to google voice they accidentally had some international charges, i called them and they immediately removed the charges no fuss or fight needed.

Stolen GS3

My phone got stolen today on the metro transit. My mom called tmobile to block my sim before I can wipe with cerberus(Not that much data on it anyways, all the passwords are changed now). I know tmobile blocks IMEI on stolen phones but since I'm paying for my phone mothly, how does that work when I don't even have the phone anymore?
I think you can suspend account and they give you like 30 days to get a new one, not 100% sure something similar happened to one of my friends. Living in NY big cities you always gotta watch out

Note 3 from Negri Tmobile just called me

Anyone else get a call from Tmobile?
They are looking into whether or not the phone was fraudulently purchased, I don't like the sound of this.
The rep said there is nothing I need to do now, but I should have my receipts and all that in order. I don't know what this means, but it's a bad sign. =(
What?

Did you verify the call was actually from t-mobile? Also, you contact Negri? I personally have not dealt with them, but I would suggest verifying t-mobile truly called me and then taking it up with Negri.

Unless some third party tapped into Negri's customer database, it's most likely T-Mobile.
Can't say that I'm surprised something like this would happen.
Actually be very careful who you speak to. Anyone Know whitehawkx, Dev on vibrant/S2 and others, anyway he just tweeted today that someone hacked his T-mobile acct, by saying they were T-mo and asked him to do a survey. Just be careful the info you give out.

Thanks for the warning and I certainly hope it isn't some scam trying to get my information.
But I'm pretty sure it was Tmobile's number (800-937-8997) that was on my caller id and when I called it back it directs to Tmobile customer service. I'm pretty sure it is Tmobile. I've already contacted Negri to see what they say.
I hope this all works out and that I can keep my phone and not get blacklisted.
Just for further information:
They asked where I bought the phone and I told them Negri and how much I paid for it.

It IS possible to spoof a caller ID so that is nothing to go by. I could call you from your bank's phone number and play the old game of social engineering to get your account information the same way. What may have happened is that the Note was stolen or is within the same batch of phones that may have had a shipment stolen. I can't see T-Mobile locking you out of your own phone over this as long as you have a proof of purchase

^^ Yes, this is why I asked if you verified it was truly t-mobile. You can call them back. If they called you, it will be noted in your account. But I do not answer ANYONE, who calls and asks me something. If someone calls me, I will hang up, then call the company after getting the name of the person that supposedly called me. If they have it noted that there is some important information that needs to be discussed, great, but otherwise it is always a terrible idea to answer anything from anyone without verifying. Hell, when you call them they make you give them a pin, answer security questions, etc... There is a reason they protect your identity, I would hope you like to protect yourself from someone else.
Sorry for the rant, I know a few people that have been caught by this type of stuff, and being in the military, they ingrained the "social engineering" aspect into me, so I am cautious about everyone who calls me. But, I am basically saying to be careful. So give them a call and ask them if they called you. This way at least you'll know if it is a legitimate claim or not.

Well thanks for all that. I will try and be more careful. But if it were someone phishing I don't know what they would do with that information -- seems pretty random to me. I didn't even tell them how much exactly I paid for it -- just gave them an estimation.
I verified with Tmobile, it was a rep that called me as noted in my account -- but they did not specifically say what that matter was.
But again, thanks for your tips guys -- I will be far more cautious next time. This is a good lesson for me to never be caught off guard.
That's good to hear. Probably because there are a ton of fake note 3's out there, and they want to make sure you didn't get one of those. They can always seem real enough, or as Flippy125 said, the shipment may have been lost or stolen, then sold without knowledge to vendor. Hope all is well though.
tweaking my note 3-alpha style
It might have something to do with the fact that Negri seems to be selling (or at least has sold) phones that were later blocked by T-Mobile (i.e. they were buying used phones and selling them as new). It's in a thread that I started when I order from Negri (and later cancelled). T-Mobile might be investigating that. I have no proof of that, it's just a theory.
I don't give out any information by period!!

According to an IMEI check, it's blacklisted most likely due to nonpayment. Meaning whomever Negri purchased the phone from -- they didn't pay off the remaining balance of that phone. At least that's my guess.
That should fall back on Negri, if they want to maintain their business anyway. Otherwise I'd be pursuing legal action, which IMO, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on.. Guess it's up to them at this point.. Have you spoken with Negri, what's their position?

I contacted Negri and they told me to RMA it. Has this happened to anyone else before?
Also just in an attempt to go beyond Negri, I tried contacting my CC and Paypal about it but they couldn't dispute the charges given the length of time (about 2 months) since the purchase date.
So far, it seems my only resort is hope that Negri takes care of this.
Btw, I contacted Tmobile and they asked me to write the Legal Department a letter if I want to submit and/or ask for further details.
One of my two note 3s got blocked yesterday, trying to contact somebody at Negri during the weekend is impossible. Called, emailed, and tweeted. Even called the owner. I'll update after I get a hold of someone
