Hey... i searched for a solution and couldn't find one....
So i tried to install the Omega rom, the process went by pretty quickly, that's when i became suspicious.
Now i can turn my phone on, but there is something... strange... for instance once the screen turns off, the phone plays dead until i restart it.
i can get into download mode, and i did, tried to install cwm6 again, but it didnt work.
and if i try to go into recovery mode (vol up home and power) it just hangs on the "Samsung galaxy note 2 n-7100" screen.
Thanks for the help in advance =]
edit: Forgot to mention, if i plug it into the pc, windows/kies doesn't recognise it.
:< Please help me i am completly lost and beating my self up for trying this foolishness
Did u check "usb debug" on your device? Try samsung driver instead.
Try reflash recovery via pc odin again.
Might wanna try TWRP as people have been having issues with CWM when flashing ROM's.
Hey thanks for the answers, i indeed check usb debugging and it is on.
i also relized i SOMEHOW managed to download the galaxy s3 rom instead of the note 2 rom and flash it, and i guess thats the problem, however im sure it didnt flash right, any way i downloaded the correct rom and flashed it using mobile odin, every thing worked fine
however i still cant get into recovery mod, and the problem where the device stays in sleep mode is still there...
Im going to try this TWRP thingy now

By the way, as noted by Adam Outler, you should not use ODIN to continuously flash ROM's. Just to reset phone if needed. Using ODIN to flash ROM's will only turn out badly.

Are you using a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port? use 20. if you're not already.

im using 2.0, i tried every usb port on my pc just in case....
The thing is it used to work earlier, before ive gone and messed it all up
Sorry you're not having much luck. Maybe one of the brilliant devs will hop in and lend some thoughts. I'm out of ideas at the moment.
Thanks any way dude, appreciate it.
Im going to sleep, but let me reiterate the problem.
- Tried to flash a Galaxy s3 rom onto the Note 2, dont ask me how i made this mistake
- something.. happened during the flash
- now the phone wouldn't connect to usb (so i cant use odin) and after the screen turns off it wont turn back on again without switching the device off and on
- eventually downloaded the note 2 rom (omega) and flashed it using mobile odin, this time the proccess finished fine, but...
-Still cant connect the phone to the pc usb, (it charges tho, drivers are installed)
-Screen still wont come back on after it turns off
Shameless bump =[
Man.......
im guessing this problem is not a common one eh?
I hate to spam but im really lost, having this 600$ mirrior feels bad :<
Have you tried flashing a stock rom with odin mobile? I've not used odin mobile so I have no idea what it can and can't do. But you could try flashing a stock rom and then put Cwm or twrp after you have checked it

Hey all...and to answer the number one question, yes I did do A TON of searches already to find a solution...PLEASE HELP if you have the knowledge
Phone Model: Galaxy S III (SPH-L710) Sprint 16gb
Firmware/ROM: All stock and never tried ANY customization
Problem: I think the problem happened when the phone auto updated to 4.3. Now when the phone tries to boot it just boots to the second Samsung "Samsung Galaxy S III" screen, reboots and then will get to the same screen and just sits there. One time I even let it sit there for 30 minutes just to see if it needed the ridiculous amount of time. When I try to get the phone into recovery mode (Volume UP/Home key/then the Power key) it will boot and on the first Samsung "Samsung" screen, in the top left corner in small print, it shows "booting recovery...". Then it will just go strait to the second Samsung screen then keeps rebooting twice before it will just stop on the second Samsung screen again. When I try to get the phone into ODIN mode (Volume DOWN/Home key/then the Power key) it will boot asking me if I'm sure and to press Volume UP to continue. Once I press Volume UP, to continue, I get to ODIN mode. In the top left corner it shows...
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SPH-710
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
(all grayed out) Qualcomm Secureboot: ENABLE
Then in the middle of the screen is the little Android guy. Below that it shows, "Downloading..." "Do not turn off target!!". And it just sits there doing nothing else.
I'm pretty sure I have done everything I could possible do to get it working again. From what I understand there may be other things I can do. Worse case scenario, if I must, I would be willing to loose everything on the phone and start over from scratch, if that's even possible.
There has to be some VERY smart people on here that can help me. This is my wife's phone and we don't have an upgrade until May...PLEASE HELP. Thanks all!!!
Okay 1st go to sammobile.com and download the firmware for d2att also you will need Odin I think it's 3.04. You can search odin on xda there are a few guides to use then put phone in download mode and use odin to flash the firmware, everything u need to follow is posted in sgsIII development forum

I already downloaded latest versions of both. It states, from phone off and unplugged, start phone using ODIN/download route then immediately plug into PC then open ODIN and click the button....but I cant get that far because ODIN app on PC never recognizes the phone to be able to do so.
I'm now starting to get very discouraged because i'm seeing in some places that the device needs to be put into USB debugging mode. Please tell me this isn't true. Because there has never been any reason to put the phone into USB debug mode.
Can someone please confirm this. I'm really crossing my finger that there is a way to do this without needing to be in USB debug mode...PLS PLS PLS!!!
Thanks for your reply

You have to plug the device in from download mode AFTER Odin is running. So, phone in download mode, start Odin, then plug in. Before you go that far are you letting go of the buttons when trying to get to recovery as soon as you seen 'recovery starting' in the top left corner or are you still holding them? If you do not let go the device will continue to attempt a normal boot. If you can get into recovery and do a factory restore it very well may solve your boot issue.
A friend had this note two and he believed it wouldnt charge becasue the usb port broke on the phone but i plugged it in and was able to charge it but it would not power on i was able to get to the boot loader where i could go into recovery mode but now it will only let me get to that downloading screen you go into for odin i tried to flash the rom but no luck and since the phone wont turn on i cannot set it to usb debugging mode and root the device to try installing a custom rom does anyone have any advice as to what might be wrong or what i might do to fix it?

the best advice in your case would be to edit your post - insert commas and dots.
in download mode flash stock rom via odin. you can try different versions of Odin.

I've tried that with multiple roms. I have even tried to install a custom ROM by I don't think USB debugging was turned only. I checked the volts on the battery they are fine. It won't do anything unless it is plugged into something via USB. After every attempt with Odin it either did absolutely nothing or only be to restore or, where I'm a now, stuck on the galaxy note 2 screen and does nothing.

Hello
I got the note 2 to go to the note 2 screen but it stops after that and goes to the battery charging screen.
Dear all. I have a note II that has gone wild. The phone was working fine but then I received a note 4 and put the note 2 aside. Then I was trying to install root and was able to do so by installing TWRP V2.8.3 and everything went smooth and the phone was rooted. I then used the phone for a while but switched to the note 4 after. Now, 5 months after, I wanted to check something on my olde note II. I charged the phone and switched it on but it was stuck on the Galaxy note II screen I rebooted then rebooted but still the same. I went in the TWRP recovery to try to do something but I was not able to because it says that it cant mount storage, cant mount efs, cant mount data, cant mount cache and cant mount system.
Then I have decided to install the firmware image from zipped file but that did not work as it sees that the internal and external storags are 0 and cant mount them.
Then I opted to try and install the firmware PDA through Odin but that also did not work as Odin was not able to detect the phone. Now I'm clueless and not sure what to do the only thing I'm able to do is boot in TWRP recovery and that is all. Can any one help.
My phone had the latest official rom from samsung the 4.4.2
Please help
classic, just search. there is a thread with tutorial how to get your n2 back to life. you could also have sds, but try different odin and flash with pit
Ok now I'm in a worse situation. I have managed to get to the download mode and connected it to ODIN and tried to flash with the stock rom but at the end of the writing process it failed and started to get a message on the phone to connect my device to kies and try again. I tried that but did not do anything. Then I tried Odin again but this time I unticked the auto reboot. then clicked start. The same thing happened as before and writing failed now though my phone is blank it does not show anything and it does not want to turn on and no LED that is turning on nor the charging icon. I searched the net and someone suggested that the battery is damaged. I replaced the battery but still no go. Please I really need to get that phone back alive. I think I bricked it. any ideas or directions to help me with this annoying case. I cant even boot to recovery nor download please help

Odin dont detect Phone in Download mode, right?
So test another USB hub or an other or Official Samsung USB connector.. When nothing work try another PC and Flash the Firmware in PDA.

As I said when I remove the battery and insert it back the phone remains blank no response to any button pressed.
What I did is that my phone was stuck on opening screen samsung screen. Then someone suggested to flash it with the stock rom. So I went to Sammobile site and downloaded the latest firmware. I tried to install it to my phone using ODIN and just before the end. ODIN failed. I tried it the second time and the same happened. then the third time I read that I have to untick auto reboot. I did and tried ODIN for the 3rd time and on the third trial I got the same fail message and then I wanted to boot into download mode for the forth time but this time the phone went dead and not responding to any button press. I hope that this explains the situation
Hmmm.. That Sounds really tricky.. Never saw a Device before thats so bricked.. No worries bro. At least you are trying. I have never seen this before either and I'm stumped and where I'm I dont think I can find any samsung pro shop. All what they are going to say is the motherboard is dead and you need to change it. I do have another phone but I hate it when a devise does this to me
please help me!! clearly i am more of a noob than I thought I was!
I rooted my phone using Odin a few months ago. Then it just crapped out on me. Now it is stuck in a boot loop mode. I can get it to recovery mood and download mode. I have tried wiping the cache partition and done the factory rest. That isn't the issue. The issue is that when I have Odin open the phone isn't being recognized. it keeps saying "USB device not recognized. the last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it". I have tried reinstalling the drivers for my Sprint S6. I have also updated the media package for my windows 8.1. But it still isn't recognizing the phone. I also tried un instaling and reinstalling. I have smart switch but still nothing. I am not entirely sure how to fix this. Please Help!! Also, in the top left hand corner where it says "kernal is not seandriod enforcing. custom binary blocked by frp lock"
I've exhausted everything best to my knowledge. I appreciate all the help I can get from you experts. Thank all in advance from this tech noob!

Geez... that sucks, and disappointing no one has replied yet.
I hate to reply with a few of the obvious tricks- but it has happened multiple times to me that my phone won't be recognized by ODIN (or anything other than as "charging"). Usually this is solved by switching to other USB ports, and plugging-unplugging a few times, but when that fails (which it does not infrequently)- I have gotten lucky by not just restarting my computer, but actually turning it off, waiting a moment and turning it back on.
Magically sometimes that does it.
Hope that works for you, and that others more senior weigh in on this :good:
I second what spammy said.
I just spent 6 hours fixing my Sprint s6. I got it domestic unlocked and somehow near-bricked it, and then got the dreaded usb not recognized message. Shutting my laptop all the way down and letting it sit a few minutes did the trick and I was able to use Odin afterwards.
update!!
so, i got it to connect by just lifting the tongue a little. It connected to Odin. I tried to flash it using the TAR file but it keeps saying failed. Can anyone tell me why it says "custom binary blocked by frp lock" and how to fix that ? I know I have to connect it to samsung online or something but the phone is stuck in boot loop mode so I cant really do much. Like I said before I tried to flash with the 5.0.2 TAR file and ended up with the following message at the top left and corner in red and black highlight "SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 2. BINARY: 1" what does this mean? is there a fix? and how do I fix it? my phone is already factory rest and I lost everything so I am not concerned about that as long as I can get it to turn back on. Please help me.

Mine is 5.1.1 OL1 modem.

Sounds like your USB is a bit out of wack. You need to make sure that the PC you are using is finding the device properly, loading the drivers, and allowing you to access the internal storage. Just go to "My Computer" on your PC and your device should show up and allow you to access it. Otherwise trying to use Odin will be a waste of your time.
Once you have that Odin should find it no problem. However, if your microUSB on the device is acting intermittent and you start flashing in Odin and it disconnects for a sec there will be issues. You don't want an interrupt during the flash.
If you can do all this go to this link and download Odin 3.10.6 and the OJ7 tar file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s6/general/how-to-to-100-stock-root-t3075448
Don't use previous version of Odin as they are confirmed to have issues flashing some tar files on the S6. If it doesn't work try doing another factory reset through stock recovery and try again.
Report back your findings to continue troubleshooting if needed.
Thank you! progress/update

I have been using the most updated version of Odin (3.10.7) could that be causing the issue? the phone stays connected while its flashing in Odin. Once it is connected I dont mess with it? Also, please answer me if I am able to fix this issue and will i be able to get my phone booted?

I have not used the 3.10.7 version yet but should not be a problem.
Download the tar file, connect the device and make sure Odin shows the device as connected/ready, hit the AP button and select your tar file, then flash and let finish. Then it will reboot automatically and boot up normally.
Try this and post your findings.
