Verizon SIM Data working - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

So i have an activated Verizon SIM that I was able to get semi-working on my OnePlus 3. Only data is working though. Calls and text don't seem to work.
I can only get service if I select "LTE" as my Preferred Network Type. I've tried multiple other combinations of GSM, LTE, CDMA, and WCDMA, and TD-SCDMA and none of them worked. Only "LTE".
I know this phone doesn't have the CDMA radio, but I feel like I should be able to get 3G or H+ on Verizon. Any suggestions on other Preferred Network Types to try? There's a ton of options, I've only had luck with LTE (and as I said, that was data only).
Is there a way to tell if I'm using a different antenna for the Verizon SIM? My main carrier is T-Mobile.

I was a VZW user when I got the OP3 and I struggles with trying all the APN options even calling VZW to set some custom APN but nothing worked well. I never got LTE on 3g at best but point of ever having data and voice at the same time was no hope. With the frustration and VZW seeming to never ready go GSM I just moved over to ATT. I also have a TMobile account but only for house not my cell line.

Any advice on getting this phone to work with another Carrier under CDMA - With Data

I've got this phone and am trying to get it to work with U.S. Cellular. I've got voice and SMS working but no data. I've tried umteen thousand APN settings to no avail.
Is there more that needs to be done? Can it be done, is the data service even on the same Frequency.
Yes, I've updated the PRL. Yes, it's one that supports data.
Remember this is a CDMA carrier not GSM.
1X is better than nothing
I've managed to get the 1X running.
3G would be nice, but doing things that are not supported usually doesn't come with much help.

Phone stays on HSPA when LTE is available

So I own a D851, currently on T-Mobile with good LTE speeds in my area but quite often the phone switches to HSPA and doesn't utilize LTE coverage when I need it. I end up having to either switch data off/on or accessing the radio settings menu and setting it to LTE ONLY. I understand the slower network coverage saves battery but to just stay there I don't get when I'm getting download speeds of 9mb on HSPA and 30mb on LTE in the exact same spot. The thing that sucks about setting the radio to LTE ONLY is that I can't browse while on a call. Anyone know a workaround?

I had the same issue with ATT, unlocked phone. Made sure the APN was correct, tried may other APN settings, and finally called Consumer Cellular. They advised I did, indeed, have the correct APN (my first version). They did some type of reset on their end, and viola.
On my OnePlus it was the similar. APN was correct, same APN as the G3, but until I called CC, and their reset, phone would not show LTE at all, only H and H+
apn settings?

What are the apn settings that are working for you? I've tried several times to address this issue with CC but lte STILL isnt working on either of our 2 devices. Had no problems when used with an att account.
I am still having this same problem on my LG G3 (vs985) on Cricket Wireless

Explain my 4g LTE woes, Verizon on T-Mobile

I may be trading my Verizon G4 for a T-Mobile H811 but before I go through the trouble I'd like to see if my problem can be fixed.
My network options are:
Global no sub-network menu
LTE/CDMA also no sub menu
LTE/GSM/UMTS with sub menu options LTE/Legacy 3GPP multi, GSM/GPRS/EDGE only, and UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ only and the option to choose network operators.
When I choose LTE/CDMA I get 4g LTE all the time, great speeds, but am unable to send texts, not sure about calls(don't use the phone much for calls)
If I choose Global I get intermittent LTE but mostly HSPA or HSPA+. Again texts only work when it switches to H.
If I choose LTE/GSM/UMTS I mostly get HSPA but occasionally it will switch to LTE.
I'm not used to having all these network options to choose from. I've tried a few different APN settings and all give the same results. I'm in a very good LTE coverage area and my G2 always ran on Band 4 LTE which is enabled on my G4 and obviously works in the correct mode based on my speeds 28mbps down, 18mbps up. Plus Verizon LG G2's are able to work correctly on T-Mobile's network and they have the same bands as the G4.
If my phone has the band's enabled to work with T-Mobile, namely band 2 and band 4 LTE, then why can't I always have LTE AND be able to text and call at the same time?
If anybody has an answer to this I'd love to hear it! Otherwise I'm going through with the trade (and trouble of setting my phone back up all over again).

Have you tried to delete the Verizon Apns? I used a Verizon g3 on ATT and had some issues until I cleared all APNs and set new ones up.

I'm having the same issue, i just got mine yesterday. I tried rooting and trying to disable and enable lte bands from the hidden menu but it didn't do anything. I also tried the epc apn and for some reason still kept giving me lte like the settings aren't saving.

My tip to you is don't disable any of the bands. You can enable all you want. I made the mistake of disabling thinking it would force the phone on certain bands. Then went out of town and lost all data. Somehow I remembered the command prompt line to get back into the hidden menu, re-enabled and I at least got edge...

I got same problem while my G3 VS985 does not

Verizon Users Need Your Help. Have Dual Sim Setup

Just got the OP3 trying see if I can live with it on Verizon in US who is my main carrier. I also have ATT US sim in the sim2 slot and I show LTE on it. Here is what I cant figure out:
- I want VZW (sim1) for voice & text only knowing I cannot get LTE anymore. Yes I get voice and text from my first 3 hrs testing
- I want ATT (sim2) for all data
1. VZW what network type do I want in Sim1 setting? Global
2. ATT same here what network type do I need?
I found that when I am on a call sim1 I cannot surf web, etc, no data and I get ! on ATT sim2...but I have ATT sim2 set for my data not working on a call?
Use Textra for texing and single sends fine:
3. With this setup can I do not MMS text anymore well large character text msg?
4. Do I need to use another app?
Any help if you a Verizon user with dual sims would help...thx
Your data is not working on Verizon therefore you cannot receive MMS. Can't use att data to download a msg that was sent through Verizon's network. In regards of global. Verizon is CDMA so try setting it to that and I'm not sure about Att. This phone is not a good choice for verizon

Thx. I am finding this out... I think I am going to port my number over to ATT. I just like to coverage of verizon since I travel the US but ATT has some up some.
Only thing that hold me VZW when I am out in the rural VZW still works when others have no service...maybe due to their older CDMA networks I guess.

Yeah I used to use Verizon left them cuz I was grandfather in unlimited data and they basically would not let me update my phone with out losing my unlimited data, I consume around 25GB MONTHLY so for me is a must..

How To Force 3G?

I've tried *#*#4636#*#* but the code doesn't work. As soon as I type that, my phone dialer just goes blank. So how do I force 3G?
Do you mean basically shut off LTE (force only use of 3G and GSM/2G/EDGE)? Since GSM is the often used fall-back from 3G, and it's not currently a great idea to only have 3G. At least not until carrier start shutting down the GSM networks (which is coming soon, from what I understand).
If that is what you mean, if you go into Settings>Mobile data, do you have the Preferred network type, with the option to force GSM and 3G? Or does it just change back, if you do have this option shown?
What carrier version of the M8 do you have? The network type is locked out (to always allow all three: GSM, 3G and LTE) on the US carrier versions. And this also affects the dialer codes to force the network mode.

Nah, nothing to do with 4G but my network keeps switching back and forth (3G/2G). I've noticed that this causes some battery drain
The code has worked previously with other ROMs but not quite so on Verizon 6.0. I wouldn't mind locking to 2G either since I don't use data
