Just got the OP3 trying see if I can live with it on Verizon in US who is my main carrier. I also have ATT US sim in the sim2 slot and I show LTE on it. Here is what I cant figure out:
- I want VZW (sim1) for voice & text only knowing I cannot get LTE anymore. Yes I get voice and text from my first 3 hrs testing
- I want ATT (sim2) for all data
1. VZW what network type do I want in Sim1 setting? Global
2. ATT same here what network type do I need?
I found that when I am on a call sim1 I cannot surf web, etc, no data and I get ! on ATT sim2...but I have ATT sim2 set for my data not working on a call?
Use Textra for texing and single sends fine:
3. With this setup can I do not MMS text anymore well large character text msg?
4. Do I need to use another app?
Any help if you a Verizon user with dual sims would help...thx
Your data is not working on Verizon therefore you cannot receive MMS. Can't use att data to download a msg that was sent through Verizon's network. In regards of global. Verizon is CDMA so try setting it to that and I'm not sure about Att. This phone is not a good choice for verizon

Thx. I am finding this out... I think I am going to port my number over to ATT. I just like to coverage of verizon since I travel the US but ATT has some up some.
Only thing that hold me VZW when I am out in the rural VZW still works when others have no service...maybe due to their older CDMA networks I guess.

Yeah I used to use Verizon left them cuz I was grandfather in unlimited data and they basically would not let me update my phone with out losing my unlimited data, I consume around 25GB MONTHLY so for me is a must..

Hi All ,
I had Vz droid Incredible locked. Last week i moved to att and so unlocked the incredible 2 with some unlock code . It started working on att network i'm able to make call and receive calls. But the data plan (mobile internet )and 3G is not working. Please do you have any suggestion on how to get this working.
Vivow HBOOT - 0.98 and android : 2.3.4
thanks
kevin.
You will never get data because the radio in the dinc2 can't pick up the frequencies of at&T's data network.

I thought you could get 2g speeds on ATT and Tmo.
Check in your settings to make sure you have all network settings set appropriately.
OP, are you running VZ's factory (HTC) ROM or custom ROM (Sense or ??) and was your DI2 unlocked by code via eBay or by VZW Global Support while you're on CDMA with Big Red?
Can you switch to GMS/UMTS setting - and check to see whether it's picking up AT&T and/or T-Mobile - and you are in the US, correct? Are you on prepaid or postpaid with AT&T and is data enabled on your account?
Mine was rooted & unlocked via VZW, and GSM voice/SMS worked fine - running SkyRaider, CS's lates CM7.2 & NJ's Sense2.1/3.0 stock roms - (E)dge or 2.5/2G data works on my AT&T Gophone SIM with data but won't work on T-Mo unless I subscribe/add the data option. For overseas travel, my China Mobile HK prepaid Sim worked great for voice, SMS & broadband on PAYG basis here in the US too - roaming on its partners, either AT&T or T-Mobile (it's on Edge/GPRS only, I think - as I don't need to run up pricey charges for broadband access, use WiFi when I'm on this CMHK account) - when we're in Bermuda last month, same Sim roamed on DigiCel and it showed 3G connection.
Most likely, you will need to clear cache & reset your DI2's browser settings, and maybe modify the APN to get broadband/MMS to work properly, assuming that you are provisioned properly ...
Thanks for your replies.
yes i did some APN settings and mobile internet worked. But working for only Edge data connection not for 3G. This phone is still having VZW ROM (android build), But if i root it and change the android to ICS, do you people think it will work on 3G.
I need to have 3G running on my phone because of att poor service, I'm using the micro-cell to get the att service at my home (micro-cell works with 3g phones). Any suggestion please.
thanks
I have a SM-G928V on t-mobile network and it works fine. According to SS website band 12 is supported unlike the S6 and the S6e.
FREQUENCIES AND DATA TYPE
LTE Bands (Home) 2, 4, 12;
LTE CA 13+4 (10+10);
LTE Advanced: 2+4. 4+12, 2+12, 4+4;

Sorry. I rarely use txt & MMS. I pretty much use Hangouts and Viber to chat with everyone I know.
By the way, if touch tone DTMF is not working, try to change the DTMF from Short to Long in Phone settings.
I have a T-Mobile edge and edge plus, both have band 12. One of the offices i work at only gets band 12.

Ofc the tmo S6 has band 12 support. I meant the verizon S6.

It's the same one that's everywhere online for TMO LTE, it's not device specific, in fact the same settings are used for all LTE enabled phones, even iPhones. I'd be shocked if it wasn't either the 1st or 2nd result after a Google search.
I once had Verizon Edge+, and used it on T-Mobile.
Add and use the following APN.
Name t-mobile US
apn
fast.-tmobile.com
mmsc http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile/mms/wapenc
apn type default,supl,mms
Leave all other settings as is.
For MMS to work, make sure you add "mms" in APN Type field.
Moreover, once in a while, you'll get an annoying popup saying that the sim card is not Verizon etc. If rooted, just use Titanium Backup and freeze the "activation" apk. If not rooted, use Package Disabler Pro, and the disable the aforementioned apk.
Good luck.
the issue is in you are using Verizon S6 Edge+ on Tmobile network, you can't use data while on phone call.
it doesn't pickup band 12, only works on band 4 etc, which loose the data if phone call picked up.'
is there any way around?

My note 3 did this going from verizon to tmobile. A workaround i found was to switch the network settings from 4g or global to 3g or 2g only and then make the call. Touch tone would work, then after hanging up switch network settings back to 4g or global. Hope this helps you.

The OP3 does work on Verizon, however there are some "issues" that can probably be easily fixed by someone who knows what they're doing (aka not me).
So far I can confirm 1X/3G (eHRPD) works. I have to enable data roaming for data to work, but I can make/receive calls, sms, mms, and cellular data.
I've also been able to force a connection to LTE by placing the phone into "LTE Only mode". However, when I do this sms, mms and calls don't work (only data works).
For some reason the phone defaults to 3G rather than 4G even though it can use both.
3G/4G data, sms, mms and calling are working, they just aren't working together.
I have done a lot of testing on ,apns and build.prop edits but I have not made any progress.
My personal theory is that the phone is defaulting to a US Cellular APN which then attaches to Verizon's network as a roaming partner.
I really need some help from the community to get this thing working right. Any help would be much appreciated.
I just wanted chime in and say I'm also on VZW and considering picking up an OP3. From reading your other thread, as long as I have XLTE/Band 4, I should be able to at least get some use out of the phone, correct?
The idea of unlocking Band 13 sounds like a fun challenge I'm willing to try!
@notjaykay I tried to unlock b13 but the nvram would reset after boot. Here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=67648238
I haven't tried to get LTE working, but I've been using Verizon on my OP3 for a week now. Most of the time I use Verizon only for SMS, MMS, and calling, but on several occasions when I don't have T-Mobile LTE signal, I switch to Verizon SIM for data, too. I only get 3G in this case, but it does work pretty well (albeit slow, at 3G speeds). I'm also interested in somehow getting the phone to play nicely with Verizon's LTE.
What about "telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1"
In build. Prop

I just made this change but I don't get Verizon LTE signal at my house, so I'll have to wait until I'm at work tomorrow to actually test it.
That build.prop edit will not get you LTE. I suggest using this app https://goo.gl/620Kc7 and setting it to "LTE Only". You may have to toggle the "turn radio off" option. Be patient and it will work. What you will find is that when in LTE only mode you will only get LTE data. I do all my calls and SMS/MMS using my Google voice number so I don't need traditional voice/sms services. However this is the point of this thread. For some reason the op3 defaults to ehrpd (3G) rather than LTE. Until volte gets working (doubt that will be anytime soon) we will reply on CSFB (circuit switch fallback) for voice and text. Not ideal but a lot better than what we have now.
I did find this folder with a .mbn file in the OSS firmware folder which shows volte config specifically for Verizon (check the attached screenshot)
Thanks for the info, @cdkg. I wasn't optimistic about the build.prop change having an effect, but it was an easy enough thing to try just in case. Unfortunately, in my case, LTE-only is out of the question, at least for now. I'm leaning toward porting my number to T-Mobile to give them a real try for a couple months anyway. However, if this whole compatibility with Verizon <=> OP3 thing ever gets totally worked out, I'd probably come back to Verizon.
So i have an activated Verizon SIM that I was able to get semi-working on my OnePlus 3. Only data is working though. Calls and text don't seem to work.
I can only get service if I select "LTE" as my Preferred Network Type. I've tried multiple other combinations of GSM, LTE, CDMA, and WCDMA, and TD-SCDMA and none of them worked. Only "LTE".
I know this phone doesn't have the CDMA radio, but I feel like I should be able to get 3G or H+ on Verizon. Any suggestions on other Preferred Network Types to try? There's a ton of options, I've only had luck with LTE (and as I said, that was data only).
Is there a way to tell if I'm using a different antenna for the Verizon SIM? My main carrier is T-Mobile.

I was a VZW user when I got the OP3 and I struggles with trying all the APN options even calling VZW to set some custom APN but nothing worked well. I never got LTE on 3g at best but point of ever having data and voice at the same time was no hope. With the frustration and VZW seeming to never ready go GSM I just moved over to ATT. I also have a TMobile account but only for house not my cell line.
Bought 5t a few days ago, just found issue on Sim2 Verizon. I have ATT on sim1, Verizon on sim2, set sim2 as default data, text, voice. I understand is 3G CDMA for Verizon. When someone sent text message with pic to Verizon#, I received text w/o pic.
Then I remove ATT from sim1, has Verizon in sim2 only, I got pic with text!
Put ATT back to sim1 and set data default, sim2 Verizon voice/text default, received text only, no pic. However ,text with pic received when sent to ATT#.
Anyone has same issue?
Try using Verizon's message plus text app. It works even over WiFi and may solve the data stream issue.
If you need to get sms from both lines and message plus doesn't get the att then try something like Textra. The issue is that MMS needs the carrier data connection.
It does work! Thanks
I have the same carriers in the same slots and Textra, but AT&T as data and it's in a 3T instead of 5T. Everything works awesome(haven't noticed the lack of band 13, guess I'm lucky that my area uses the other Verizon bands). Only bummer is when I MMS comes through on Verizon, it's kills my AT&T until it finishes downloading and then goes back. But not that big of deal since Verizon is my work number primarily for calls. Wish there was a fix for this. But I can't give up root, stock Android, dual SIM and unfortunately Verizon is chosen by my employer. First world problems. Wish 1+ would just stick band 13 in there!!!! It can't be that much more expensive.
