I need your help.
I installed 3.5.2 on my One Plus 3 but rather be on 3.2.4
I've downloaded 3.2.4 from One Plus download website.
I've tried several times to adb sideload 3.2.4 but fails around 48%. I even download 3.2.4 twice to make it wasn't a bad download.
And yes, I wipe data and factory reset through recovery prior to installation.
Any advice?
FYI, I'm not rooted and stock everything.
Sent from my SM-G935U using XDA-Developers mobile app
The most straightforward way may be to just use method 2 in the unbrick/stock reset tool guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/guide-mega-unbrick-guide-hard-bricked-t3405700
And then just update after you are up and running.
if you already have this recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...0&postcount=56
flash oos 3.5.1 reboot and run the setup process
reboot into fastboot and flash official twrp https://dl.twrp.me/oneplus3/twrp-3.0.2-1-oneplus3.img.html
dont reboot go straight into recovery.
you should now be in twrp-3.0.2-1 recovery, now do a wipe (i did advance wipe> dalvik/ART Cache, cache, data and system)
now flash oos 3.2.4.
Note> i flashed RR latest and it work all data intact so in theory it should work with any oos below 3.5.1 or other custom os.
hope this helps.

Do I have to root for this method?
Is there a way to revert back without root and installing TWRP?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Not rooted but it would require your bootloader to be unlocked.
The unbrick method, in my first response, you can use regardless.

It's there. Checked with my phone and computer.
Either:
-There is an issue on your end (app, browser, internet, etc)
-You are not clicking the correct link
-You are trolling
using the 1st unbrick method is the easiest way to get back to stable os

Hey guys I just got my Nexus 5x last week and I'm pretty familiar with rooting. I rooted my 5x and installed a custom kernel (ElementalX to be specific) and I was just wondering what I need to do to be able to keep my phone up to date with the latest security patches. Do I need to wipe to stock every time I want to update? Thanks

You can use fastboot to update each month. You would flash the boot, system, vendor, and maybe radio and bootloader each month. No loss of data. Then boot into TWRP and flash SuperSU and other mods. A great reference is section 9 in the guide below:

Unlock bootloader, and flash CF auto root via your PC.
You don't need TWRP, if you have encrypted device then it will not work... And when you want to update or flash anything use FlashFire app...

You can't install OTA update when you change something in system (Xposed is a change in system)... But you can download factory image into the device and flash system, boot, recovery, etc (no data) with FlashFire, root it again and install Xposed at once in few minutes...

So I haven't done a root since my lg2 so I'm way out of the loop. I've been reading thru the forums here but all confusing and not very organized.

First off, you need Odin. It's a must, can't do anything without it.
Next you need to download TWRP custom recovery (Team Win Recovery Project) and use Odin to flash it.
From there, go into twrp on your phone and flash superuser to root your phone. OR if you're going for a rom, make a backup, go to wipe, advanced wipe, and select dalvik, system, data, and cache, perform a wipe, then flash the rom you choose. Most roms come prerooted anyway so you won't need to manually flash for root.
Hope this helps.

Hi there guys! I own a rooted Nexus 5X. I currently received the OTA update for Nougat and would like to do the update. My question is: how can I do this update without reverting everything to stock first? I don't mind loosing root access, I would just like to update using the OTA update without having to revert everything back to stock and then doing it. Can you guys share a little knowledge here? I have TWRP installed
I think you can maybe sideload the OTA or flash with Flashify or something. It's really recommended to do do a clean install with a factory image and then reroot, especially if you're coming from M. Takes no effort to just back up your SD card with your PC
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Download FlashFire app, go to official page for Nexus 5X OTA packages, download it(around 1.1GB) and flash it as factory image through FlashFire app.
Untick flash recovery.
After that just flash SuperSU zip from twrp and you're rooted.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Using FlashFire Pro, the previously downloaded OTA,(approx. 50 MB), when FlashFire opened, it detected the OTA download and I simply hit the Flash button and it performed flawlessly. Preserved root and recovery.

It didn't work for me either at first, then I checked the "Restore boot and recovery images" option (The "Mount /system read/write" option was already checked, so I left it). Once I checked that option and flashed the OTA update (NRD90S downloaded from Google), it installed just fine.

flash via fastboot the last factory image for cm 14.1 Custom Rom
Flash TWRP 3.0.2.3.img via fastboot (fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2.3.img)
Flash Cf Auto Root.img via fastboot or UpdateSU.zip via TWRP

You don't have to do it every time, just make sure they match.

Did you use TWRP 3.0.3-0? If not flash this recovery, found over in the downloads tab of the TWRP thread. The named version is compatible to Android N as well as MM. From what you wrote - and is really less information - I guess you're on a late 2.x.x-x TWRP version but an N firmware.

I used 3.0.2-6 version, I thought it's OK. And yes, I'm on N firmware.
The thing I have just noticed is that when RootJunky dragged and dropped the TWRP file in the cmd window it automatically was quoted ("..."), but mine wasn't.
So, maybe this is the problem?
Can I just reflash recovery once again?
P.S. I can boot to system/bootloader/download mode successfully

No the quotation marks aren't the problem. But you need TWRP 3.0.3-0 unofficial as 3.0.2-6 won't boot on N firmware.
Download the mentioned unofficial TWRP, flash as shown on the video tutorial and you're good to go.

Here it is: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-t3358139/page146
If opened in browser you recognize a download tab on top, kick it, and download 3.0.3-0 unofficial. Don't take 3.0.3-3 at the moment, as not all ROMs seem to flash properly. Those ROMs are just not yet changed to the new mechanism used, but it'd be better to wait.
