Juste seeing the next gen API, Vulkan, and potential benefit (performance, energy efficient (CPU can sleep a little ), multiplatform & easy to port game apps on any OS), can work on mobile/desktop platforms with OpenGL ES 3.1, and OpenGL 4.2 and next !
Vulkan is a very good new for increase performances & battery life ! Our Zenfone 2 seems be have a PowerVR Rogue G6430 with OpenGL ES 3.1 support, so, there is a way to have benefit of this API on him. :good:

Snapchat + OOS = true?

Everybody knows that snapchat runs like **** on OOS compared to CM and IOS.
I just tried different clockspeeds on both gpu and cpu and concluded that the Most difference is made by altering the cpu. Gpu not noticable. I have not overclocked but i really am interested in what you guys have found regarding the smoothness of snapchat.
Have you found any tweaks that makes snapchat run less laggy on OOS-based roms?
Fyi i run op3lite and Ex kernel both latest.
it lags real bad for me too. not found any tweak which reduces the lag.

Thats because snapchat devs don't really care about snapchat for android, though snapchat started working fine on oos3.2.x and 3.5.x for me. ? Weird
They changed the camera blobs in the latest community build. Allowing for 1080p60fps recording and the removal of Snapchat lag.

Need for speed no limits graphics problem

I recently downloaded NEED FOR SPEED NO LIMITS game on my op3 running open beta 8, i noticed that the game runs at lowest graphics and resolution compared to other devices high end devices.
So, i thought it was os problem and reverted back to open beta 7 and oos 3.2.8 but still I'm getting lowest graphics, is this OS problem or GAME problem.
I even tried editing graphicssettings.json file in the game but still no help

Does the Moto Z Play have full Vulkan support?

I understand it does, and some info apps shows report the presence of Vulkan libs. But I tried the last PPSSPP and I cannot activated its new Vulkan backend.

I believe it does have full support. On version 1.5.4 of ppsspp you can enable the vulkan backend just fine. I just did it on my moto . give it a try
Tried some benchmarks last night, vulkan works but is a lot slower than the same benchmark in opengl 3.

Vulkan support in Z2 plus custom ROMs

I have noticed recently that some custom ROMs on Zuk Z2 support the vulkan API. (Dev options->GPU rendering->opengl/open gl (skia)/vulkan)
I have seen at least two custom ROMs' screen shots on which some members had vulkan as an option but i never had it.
So questions:
Does vulkan API really help in 3d gaming if selected?
How could I enable it as an option on a ROM which supports it but i don't have it?

Only the games which actually run on vulkan engine. Currently, the most famous is Vainglory which is e-sports moba for touch. and there are like 6-7 android games which run on vulkan. And also, Adreno 530 already supports Vulkan API, it should come enabled by default for supported apps.

The API is already in-built and Adreno 530 fully supports it. All you need is a game which works on vulkan api.

yes, but in the past if you want to play vainglory with vulkan, you need a separate build for samsung s7 devices because the game from play store doesnt have vulkan
all Im asking is if they merged those 2 or it's still a separate beta
edit: nvm, I found out that they stopped vulkan beta on vainglory a while ago
