My phones battery is dying and i'm thinking of buying a new phone. Is moto g4+ a good option because i'm little tight on budget.
If they are my case, i surery remplace the battery, the z1c still having a very capable phone, for a long time yet.
You really need to change the phone?

I know z1 compact is better in performance than moto but problem is that i still can't say that battery is the real problem may be its software. ANd some people on this forum already stated that they had approached the service center and had no replacement battery for z1 compact. And i don't want to face sony assholes here their service is pathetic.
But on other hand moto has finger print sensor, better camera, longer battery life and latest android.

if its a soft problem there are a very easy solution, for now i got 5- 5h30 of screen along the day, and never need to charge during the day, only when i go sleep. i found battery remplacements in ebay for our phone starting in 6€ (original starts in 20€) and seems easier to change it.
personally i wont change my z1c until it dead, the camera take a good pictures with the properly mods and in general isnt a bad phone, sounds good, its smoother and it still having nearly high-end components, except the firgerprint, but you can set a pattern.
if you whould to have the max battery life, i recommend you to install a kk rom (.157)(better if you remove the bloatware) it is a fact, kk as a better battery life than lp in our phone, but isnt too much practical to have, even its functional.
finally decision is yours, but i recommend you dont throw a phone that has been called in this infancy, iphone killer

The problem is that when the phone is in standby mode battery drain much faster giving screen on time of 3hr+ but when i use to see movie screen on time is around 4hr 30 min+. I think google play service is the problem. I will try ultra stamina mode and then se what happens.

Gplay services definitely main drain... But it's true that Xperia phones have battery issue. As the battery gets older, when you get to half charge or less, your power might all of a sudden drop to zero, and shut down. My battery is at that point now. I can also confirm Sony service not doing battery jobs. They told me that they're moving their service facility, so they will not be servicing any out-of-warranty phones until further notice. No idea how long, but it's been a month so far.
The xperia z1 compact beats Motorola in all aspects except the sensor, dont change and replace the battery sir

Yeah i also want my z1 compact with me for 1 year more atleast. The problem is that in India there are only few people who want phone with less than 5.5 inch screen. If you show z1 compact and say once this phone costs 35k they laugh at you like you are an idiot. So the problem is that sony has not produced or shipped that much unit and spare parts in India IMO. galaxy j7 has more value than z1 compact here.:crying:
I'm going tomorrow to svc let's what happens. But they had told me battery replacement will take 1 week and minimum cost is 2000 INR.
To be honest unless you have any hardware issues, I don't really see a reason to replace my z1 compact. My device is still working fine, you can change the battery by yourself with less that 20$ (if you really need to) and it's overall a good smartphone... I don't like the new lenovo phones though... I think after the Moto G2, Motorola lost it's dominance in the field of mid-rage phones

And hardware wise, they're both capable phones.

Yes, but the problem is that if i opt for it, it will cost way more than svc cause there will be import duty and delivery charges.
So i thought svc would be hassles free.
So, sony contacted me tomorrow and told me that the repair will cost around 2300INR. I'm going for it.
Now i'm dreading sony is just going to take my 500 rs and will say that they don't have spare parts. Today a guy from svc called and said that due to shortage of parts at svc it is going to take more time than expected. Because of the poor svc of samsung i stopped using their phone and now sony is doing the same. Their is no brand in India which provide good service.

I'm not overly convinced that the replacement battery I got off eBay is original, but it seems to work just fine regardless. Depending on the price difference I would be tempted to try that first and then only go to Sony if it doesn't work. Good luck in getting it fixed either way.

I do want this phone, because of the build quality and how slim it is, that is literally the only reason, but reviews seem so bad now, the performance is terrible and it over heats so bad
Maybe its worth waiting for the P6S ? But how much more will that be?
Jack
Now obviously if the pricing of P6S is going to be the same, then P6S is better. It just matter of weeks before it gone release. Its best to wait because on the one hand you can make a better decision seeing the performance of P6S and on the other hand, the price of P6 would further reduce when P6S is out.
Other than that it depends on your needs. P6S advantages being:
- Better optimized gaming and performance in general
- better battery life
- 16g internal memory
- maybe LTE
If your not a gamer nor heavy user, then the above needs arent really important.
I dont have the heat issues in such way its mentioned on websites. The highest heat i have experienced is when benchmarking at times, and it wasnt serious heat like its gone explode but instead heat at a level of feeling discomfort of not being normal. Most complains maybe cause of people using older firmware.
Mine doesn't overheat either. I mean, it gets warm when I'm using it a lot, but I guess that comes with having such a slim phone with an aluminium back which acts like a heatsink.
Looking at the P6S i think it's going to be thicker than the P6. Even just 1mm thicker defeats the whole point of having the phone (for me anyway). Once it's thicker than 7mm it's lost its' wow factor and it's then just another phone. Plus, I think the P6S is only a tiny upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6Ghz and looks like it will still be quad-core and not octa-core. Same screen etc. but with EMUI 2.0. However I would imagine EMUI 2.0 will also come to the P6......
For £199 the P6 is an absolute bargain. Updates are coming regularly and KitKat is reportedly coming to it in January (6 weeks...!). Buy one and if you're not happy with it you can take it back (buy it in-store though, they have a different returns policy for internet sales..!)

I got mine in august from carphone warehouse for £240 and it was a bargain then. Now its down to under £200, it's a even better deal! Brilliant pricing.
As for what you've mentioned above with bad reviews and performance. I have to disagree. I'm now running the 122 firmware and it's a massive difference compared to what I had the first few months with just the stock UK release out of the box.
Only overheat I ever had was when I originally got the phone and was testing the GPS. If you have the screen on constant I can see why it would overheat, but never an issue for me.
As for performance there are a few things I don't like, but they are mainly with the software/apps, so just replaced them with others from the play store. Getting about the phone and doing day to day things it is very slick and responsive. My wife has the S3 and its much better than the performance on that. She's actually wanting to get one now after playing about with my P6.
I never play games, but have it syncing emails all day, use the phone a lot, same with texting. Bluetooth is on at least 2 hours a day connected to my car audio, and I use wifi maybe for half an hour a day. I get 3 days out a fully charged battery. That combined with the slimmness of the phone is the winner for me.
Roll on january and kitkat :highfive:

Any important reasons, as known issues, common problems or anything to know in order to avoid purchasing for this device?
I've read about battery issues related with being battery li-po type.
Anything that I should know about?

Problems? You are a glass-half-empty guy aren't you? Lol
I think this is the best phone i could get in this price range, specs wise. At least in my country.
Battery is good so far. Certainly better than Xperia SP, even though it has less capacity. Amazing screen, speaker is clear, good build quality. Camera is a bit meh though. Overall it's a really good phone. The only minus is it doesn't support external storage.
U r not going to have any problems with the battery. The is a excellent phone. The camera with low lighting has some quality issues, and the biggest problem is the lack of updates. We r stuck on android 4.1, the hardware is capable but the software is old, for example u can't use Bluetooth LE devices. ..
Battery will hold about 2 days, depending on your useage
Camera is best when used with another software
Audio quality is bad
The rest is pretty good, if you forget the lack of update from LG.
IMHO, I would go for a Nexus 4, same specs, fraction of the price, better support.
I droped it for 3 times and its ok!
But I bought full insurance

Well, not really. Just a realistic guy who cares about how industry and economy have led us to buy stuff that last 10 times less than things lasted before. I just want those 10 times to be reduced somehow so I study quite a lot what the perfect purchase would be among my interests.
The other phone that I was considering was actually the Xperia SP. Battery on the sp with stock rom performs perfect. We have this phone at home and I saw how it lasted 2 days using airplane mode at nights together with a moderate use along the day.
On the other hand, hardware is supposed to be worse, and actually less energy consumer -2 cores against 4. So I doubt about Xperia sp performing worse than optimus g in that field.

I think he means using third party software to take the photos. But it my experiencie it doesn't help too much since all the software use the same "limit/native values" or whatever u call them (aperture and shutter speed settings and so on) when taking a photo. So that means that, unless the "stock camera software" makes and awful work when choosing what paremeters to use, you won't notice big differences between obtained results.

OEM means "stock", like the one in the stock rom provided by LG.
The "LG Camera" is another software, found in the Play Store:

I don't know how come they called it "LGCamera", beats me! But it's not the camera software from LG!

Well I don't see where you wanna get. Actually I dont know which one do u like the most. I just see a more natural color but a much more noisy shot than with the second one.
Where I want to go is that you can get those 2 results with both app cameras, playing around with manual settings. The problem is that 90% of people don't use them and just press the butom and take the photo.
So what makes the difference when choosing one app instead the other is actually depending only on how the automatic mode works..
In part, I know I can get a better quality on the OEM software using custom ISO settings, but the image will get blurry easely, which is not realy an option unless you take "still subjects".
The grainy feel on the first one is realy beyond what I could consider an "average" quality.

So I'm coming from a Sony Z3C and due to the lack of support (no Nougat for us) and development (no proper CM for us) I'm thinking moving to another device.
I'm taking into consideration Sony XZ/X as well as the S7, but none of them have development going on due to various reasons. So no development is not a solution for me.
Would you still recommend buying the 5X after mote than a year since the release? Do you enjoy yhe phone? Or do you have any recommendation? I don't have enough money for a Pixel, nor buy a phablet.
Thanks!
Nexus 5x devices have something like sudden death issue, motherboards die in a random moment. After replacing motherboard on warranty you will be no longer able to root your phone (or you will get your money refund)
So in that case, I wouldn't recommen this phone. This phone is great if it's working without any issues, but LG at the backs means that will not.
Do no buy nothing LG. Go for the Huawei 6p.

I can recommend. I have this phone since june this year, and as far its the best phone i had. No lag, manual camera + raw, exelent photos, fast update, great developer support and that fingerprint reader wich i LOVE. Only i can complain about size (little bit too small for me) and battery wich is average. From 7AM to 8PM and have 15% left (~4 hours SOT). It's the best phone so far. I am also Sony fan (or i will say "was") mine last Sony device was Z2 (neo v, S, T, Z, Z1).
Also build quality is crap. My Nexus Inprint plastic is shiny now (was mate). Also plastic round the phone is shining (always in mercury case). I can send a photo how it looks.
Phone is really good AND ITS CHEAP.
Wouldn't recommend battery life is horrendously bad.

I would recommend an LG G4 or a Moto X pure, both are more or less the same price i believe, and they are much better than the 5x in terms of a more premium feel and better performance (3gb ram vs 2gb on the 5x :/ ) I have had mines about 5 months and it's not to bad, but it still bugs me till today that there were better devices i could have gotten, guess i should have done more research , btw the oneplus 2 is also a great device for around the same price and great support and performance.

I already said that I'm not intetested in bigger phones, that's why I got my eyes on the 5X but thanks
Don't ever buy a LG G4! It is the king of the bootloopers. All the 2015 LG flagship's have that issue G4, G FLex II, V10, V20, now G5 (2016) and well Nexus 5x too...
There is no solution for that failure. Motherboard replacement is not a deffinitive solution cause they never made a revisión or something to correct the mistake.
Have you seen the Xperia z5 compact? Very small size and powerfull. Thats the phone i want to get.

Xperias have problems with development because of the DRM partition - meaning no AOSP/CM ROMs working properly as a daily driver (I got a Z3C so I know). The Z5C sounds cool, but it has the not so acclaimed Snapdragon 820 with overheating issued, and as a Sony user I can say that the camera is horrid. Good sensor, horrible code optimization. Last, but not least, it may not get further than N. My phone didn't get N due to whatever reason, despite not being even 2 yrs old. The new XC or XZ looks nice. But even rooting requires unlocked bootloader, which leads to loss of DRM keys, which means loss of camera functions (noise reduction, low light shots, making it even worse than it is) and warranty.
For the old Z series there was something called TA Backup which made it possible to copy and restore the keys. For the new ones this isn't possible.
So here I am. Not knowing what to buy again due to the 5X problems..

I know, right? It's so hard to get a properly working phone. Not overpriced (Pixel), or bigger than 5.2" at most (means without OP, LG, HTC, Motorola) which has dev support (not like Sony or Samsung) and no hardware issues (see 5X). This basically puts me in a situation without a choice.

Exactly, i totally agree. Pixel is not a choice (is like an iPhone for me, you pay for how it looks) i just want something "small" 5.2" max not a phablet even the budget phones like moto g4 have 5.5 inch screen, really too big al least for me. I miss the nokia n73, moto razr v8, those were good little phones haha (i really like physical keyboards, but i know, that would be imposible in this times).

If you can get it cheap enough it's worth it even if it messes up. I had a nexus 6 and it was too large. Like you I don't like jumbo phones. The 5x is very light. Some may say it feels cheap but I like it BC it is sturdy and light. It certainly won't bend. Right now there are not many options. The camera aid good and it runs smooth despite 2GB of ram. There the bootloader issue but for cheap enough it's worth the risk to me. I love it as a daily and it fits much better in my suit pants than the other huge phones right now.
It is really sad that I got so few good reviews related to this phone. I guess I'll watch if the development of the new Xperias gets to the point where the DRM partition gets a possible backup and buy one of them....such a shame since Nexus was the most dev friendly.
Even subway surfers drops frames , probably cause of temp throttling (on stock), im really disappointed with this device and google... If i knew of bootloop problem and this temp throttle wouldn't buy it...no chance...

I'm very confused... I cannot decide whether the Nexus 5X would be a good deal or not: someone claims about (serious!) problems, someone says it's very good... I was a very lucky Moto G 2014 owner, but unfortunately its life came to an end. I wanted a quite cheap phone (maximum 270€) with an active development that can let me hope I will receive latest android versions (cyanogenmod) in a couple of months and I tought about a Nexus 5X, but if it has so many problems, is it better to find an alternative?

I've been facing the same problem for the past year or so, just because there haven't really been any devices that I could see as a replacement for my i9100. I finally made my decision though and I'm picking up a 5X tomorrow. If you want an affordable phone with a lot of custom ROMs and even long official support (especially rare with android), you don't have much of a choice. Of course there is the risk of that bootloop issue appearing, but that's what you have a warranty for. If the issue comes up a year later, you'll most likely get a refund and you've basically had a phone for a year for free. Plus I've also read speculations that Google tried to put the blame on LG, as pretty much every case of this bootloop issue happened after updating to Nougat. My guess is that there was an issue with thermal throttling not working right in the early Nougat builds for the 5X which made the phone more prone to failure. In that case I would say they've already fixed it but who knows..

Thanks Daniel, I was thinking to buy it at the end of the next week.. If yours arrives before that date, would you please be so kind and let me know how does it work?
And what about low RAM and poor audio quality? They were the main reason that stopped me from buying it till this afternoon, when I read this post. Are they really a problem?
Hi everyone,
I am looking to buy a new phone here in India and I am looking for a phone which will last me atleast 18-20 months from say January, 2017. I loved the battery stats of Moto Z PLay and since I dont game much on the phone apart from normal games and a Dead Trigger here and there, my priority is will the Snapdragon 625 processor be able to handle the upcoming apps and will its battery stay the same (approx) after 2 years or so.
I am a moderate user with social media, whats app and a bit of high net usage on wi-fi. Should I go for this or spend sme bucks more and buy OP3 or OP3T?
Thanks in advance!!!
:good: :good:
I was having the same debate - moto z play vs OP3T. I don't game at all, so the battery life + expandable storage trumps the top end performance and slightly better camera for me. Don't have it yet, but ordered a Z play yesterday. I'm seeing some pretty impressive battery numbers reported on the OP3T as well, so it's no slouch - solid for one day of heavy use
Dev support seems to be at about the same level on both devices at the moment, though if I had to guess, the OP3T will probably win out there in the end - only because in my experience most devs tend to purchase devices with higher end specs.
I've never been a big gamer but in normal everyday use the Z play is faster and smoother than my past few nexus phones. After using the phone for a few weeks the last thing I'm worried about is performance. Dropping it before I get a case is my biggest concern. Get a case or a bumper for this one
I would say go for the Z Play. I have had mine for over a month and it has truly impressed me. I have thought about exchanging for the regular Z but it's insane battery is not worth the extra performance I won't notice. The thing that impressed me most was even though I use it for intense games I have never noticed it struggle. It's mainly because the Z is such a well optimized phone. I think you will be very happy with your purchase.
Best regards

first things I do after buying new phone is case and screen protector. My current Xperia Z2 fell screen down, flat from a height of 4 and half feet and my heart stopped. Picked it up, nothing happened thanks to glass screen protector.
Anyways, the dual sim and sd card option is very attractive and though I wont even fill up the 64GB in OP3T, the spare parts avaialbility and after sale support of OP is dreadful. Till now, the lord of smartphones has been kind enough to keep me away from repair centers, but if it happens on OP, i will keep the phone (if I buy it) as a memento of the stupid decision to buy the damn phone.!!
@RealiZms... thanks a lot for the reply and help..

If it gives me even 3/4th the battery life and performance after 20 months times (talking abt the Z Play), I will be very happy. I was looking to buy the Moto G4 Plus, but the heating and ghost touch issues put me off. Will be going to check the handset out in a couple of days and will order it during the Christmas/New Year sale on Amazon or Flipkart (Local Indian e-commerce site).
The only thing keeping me from splurging on OP3/3T is the horror stories of after sales service. The lack of spare parts and other things have kept me away from buying even the OP2. Hope my choice of Z Play doesnt dissapoint me.
thanks for your reply and help, mate. :good: :good:
Good day bros.
I was asking the exact same question for the past week. Got rid of my Mi 5 due to its inability to make the NFC transit card work. Non-gamer mostly social media, surfing on my phone use. Was tempted by the great 'bang for the buck' offered by 3T, but I got the Z play in the end because, among other things, the one and only oneplus service centre in my country has closed down.
Not regretting it. No need to root, etc, everything NFC transport sim, fingerprint login with bank apps, Android Pay, it all just works. No hardcore gaming but regular apps work. No annoying china brand UI to deal with.
Oh and the battery life. Insane. I didn't even bring my USB-C wire to the office
Tried the Moto G Plus and returned it due to inadequate performance and ghost touch. Tried the Pixel XL but returned it because overpriced and not perfect. Tried the Moto Z Play and love it. Surprisingly haven't noticed any performance issues aside from the mediocre camera. The UI is very snappy. However the battery will change your life.
I got indian version of z play and let me tell ya, i play in it like a desktop (hardcore) and it gives me 8-9 hour battery. I download 80+GB from wifi each month. Its been 2 month i guess. I think Moto Z Play is the best smartphone within 30000₹ including future considerations.
I'm coming from an LG G3. Loved that phone, but tonight, it just died right in the middle of my using it. It's two years old and JUST went off contract. Took the latest update a few weeks ago and then my SD Card slot started acting flaky. So, I'm thinking this is all part of hardware failure and maybe the SD slot not working was the first sign.
Gaming wise, the G3 was awesome. I play games like Walking Dead No Man's Land, Game of War, Clash of Clans, and I do have games purchases like the GTA games. Does anyone have any idea how well this phone would work with those games? I can get this from VZW for $17/month which is cheaper than what my G3 was on the old contract ($40/month). Of course, after this month, my bill WOULD have dropped $20/month when the phone went off contract. Makes me wonder if VZW did this? lol
In any case, I've read reviews and even though the camera is 16mp as opposed to the 13mp I had on the G3, it sounds like the camera is the typical old Moto camera that ISN'T the best. But, I'm not a proffesional photographer. if it's good for just taking normal family pictures, etc, that's all I care.
Battery life is the big thing. I could get the G3 to last over a day with normal talk and text. But I also game, so I suck the life out the battery pretty quickly.
Any help you can provide if this would be a good replacement will be much appreciated. I've been with XDA for over 5 years ever since I got my first Android phone.
Thanks and I might be joining the family here if I do get this phone.
UPDATE: Starting today, VZW is having the Moto Z, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Google Pixel for $10/month with NO trade-in. So it looks like I'll be getting one of those. Just found out today while looking on their website.

I actually dont use the camera much apart from clicking pics at family functions or outings. I dnt think I have even taken a selfie. the camera on Xperia Z2 was great, not only in terms of specs (21 mp and all), but the pics came out great. but if Moto Z Play's camera does what I have read, its adequate for me. If needed will buy a second hand DSLR.

if it performs the way you said, I might have made a good decision in ordering Moto Z PLay from Flipkart. Only mistake I made was ordering the white one, when I wanted a black one. Well, same thing!!
Hi everyone who helped me in making this decision. I have ordered a Moto Z PLay (white....by mistake ) from Flipkart (indian e-commerce site).
I exchanged it for my old Xperia Z2 and got it for 15k INR or around 230 USD along with all discounts with credit cards and everything. will be delivered on boxing day and thankfully will be able to update on it in next few weeks.
Ciao!!

Few Moto z play brought from it are missing its nano coating, had scratches, defective parts etc etc. That's why I brought from Amazon. Even review on z play in Flipkart is bad.
i am shocked many people say it doesn't support wireless display/mirroring/miracast . Is it true ?! And is it a good buy after htc one m8 gold (with the jbl mod) in performance/multitasking ?!

I got an LG 65" smart TV, a 55" Samsung smart TV and 52" Vizio Smart TV, MirrorLink to smart TV is not working with any of them. However you can use an application named AllCast from play store (it's a paid application, the free one gives you only 5 minutes of transmission time for free), with that application you will be able to mirror videos, pictures, power points, etc to the smart TV. You can't mirror the entire content from your phone to the smart TV, but that is good enough for me.

Okay...
But the phone has 4.0/5 on Amazon and 4.4/5 on Flipkart. But I got a great deal on it on so bought it. Anyways I have had good experiences with both e-commerce sites.
I am getting a 50% discount on exchange with my old phone (OnePlus 2), so I'm tempted to buy it. I don't mind the processor downgrade cause my main priority is battery life. I wanted to the opinion of actual Play users if I should go for it.

Wife left Maxx on car top, then I drove away. When I got up to speed on freeway I heard a noise on roof that caused me to check for my phone!
We got the cheapest good one on vzw, the play.
If battery life is the most important thing for you, this phone will make you happy. I just wonder if the next version isn't too far off.
depending on what you're using it for, you might not notice too much of a downgrade from a processor point of view. i don't do a ton of gaming, but the MZP feels every bit as responsive as my Nexus 5x, which ran the technically-better Snapdragon 808. performance is great, responsiveness is great, battery life is fantastic. i think you'll be happy with it.
I have both Z Force and Z Play. Side by side I don't notice much difference in performance.
Maybe the Force opens an app a few milliseconds faster. Yes screen density is better on Force, so videos/photos will be nicer. Camera on Z Force takes amazing photos. Took some at Grand Canyon and was happy. But battery life is my thing and Z Play wins that. I can't find a process that use day to day that is so much slower on Z Play.
I also have a G4 Plus and out of the 3 phones my favorite is the Z Play. Battery life is amazing. Of course I bought a battery mod right away but I've only used it for fun. Never actually had a need for it on either Z phone.
All in all if I had to buy one today I would repurchase Z Play without regret.

I do zero gaming except for maybe occasional Arcade games which I know will run smoothly. All my usage is multimedia, streaming and local which is why battery is imp. Especially cause I spend upto 3-4 hrs traveling daily.
I might go for it cause of the discount I'm getting on exchange for my current phone.
Can't tell any difference in performance between my z play and my OnePlus 3. The camera isn't amazing (it's fine, just not as good as the OP3 or galaxy S7/8) and it's very hard to use in one hand, but I absolutely adore my Z play and haven't taken my OP3 out of the drawer since purchasing the Z Play. I've owned over 40 different phones over the years and this is by far the best I've ever had.
Great software, great performance, great screen, good speaker, good build quality, unlimited battery life, mod compatible. For those of us who don't take selfies or use Instagram, this is the holy Grail of smartphones.

you'll probably be plenty happy with it then. the camera isn't the greatest, but the sound it produces is great, IMO the screen is fantastic, and the battery life is the best. i bought mine used for $290 and i really enjoy it. i wish it was smaller and had a better camera, but i can deal with both of those small annoyances compared to everything else it does so well.

Even I'll hold off the root and ROM business cause it's already running Nougat and also don't want to void the warranty for atleast till the next iteration of android comes out.

While this technically does void the warranty, it only voids the part of the warranty that covers software (which is basically nothing, since software is 100% identical from phone to phone, software does not have "tolerances" like hardware does). If you have a hardware issue that clearly has nothing to do with software, Motorola will honor legitimate warranty claims. That being said, if you make a point of the fact that you unlocked your bootloader, the techs on the phone may assume your warranty is void. But I've returned several devices with unlocked bootloaders but legitimate hardware defects to Motorola and have never once had an issue. People like to complain, but Motorola customer service is some of the best in the industry.
Had a bad experience with Moto X Play. Hardware failure. USB port broken. SD card not reliably. Dealer (Conrad) sent in to Lenovo for warranty. Lenovo obviously only looked at the IMEI and sent back, told no warranty because if unlocked device. Conrad told in Europe it needs to be proven that the failure occurred in the first half year to get repair by dealer.
Now the device is being used without repair (most of the time it is usable). Am not sure if I should try anything further.

If you have a hardware issue that clearly has nothing to do with software, Motorola will honor legitimate warranty - would depend on market and type of service personnel. I've heard great ad bad things about their service centers but its usually almost all because of the service employees.
