So Verizon told me that they have not heard any plans from Samsung on replacement Note 7's. They basically are telling me right now to go in and pick a replacement device. I'm not buying all that from them. I'm sure Samsung will have replacement devices with fixed batteries. Is everyone gonna stay with a note 7 or bail out and get something else?

Wait till Verizon has new units in the store and exchange. If they don't on September 30th, I'll return the device for a refund and buy another one when available.
I'm not doing anything until there is a clear path to a new replacement through Samsung whether it's through Verizon or direct through Samsung... I don't want any other phone.

So is Verizon gonna let us keep our phones and exchange when they get new stock in?
I am a verizon employee, and we have gotten an email from our higher ups stating that we will be exchanging or returning all note 7 devices for the month, fortunately we are offering temp devices in the mean time. we will all get a fresh shipment from samsung and come exchange them around the 30th
best of luck on your replacements guys =)

Will Verizon be posting to their website this information, for those that just want to get a new Note 7 replacement? I see the info on the site about waiving a restocking fee, but I'm looking to exchange my Note 7 for a new Note 7 that's been cleared of possible battery explosions. Will Verizon send us a message, like hey come on down an exchange that Note 7 with a new Note 7 because we have the new ones in stock? Or is this something we must do on our own, keep calling or going into the store and seeing if they have the new Note 7's in?

This is a great question. I love my Note7 and I don't want to change to a different phone, just exchange it for one that's not going to have the battery issue.

Yup! Same here, I love my Note 7, it's had amazing battery life for me, performance is good, mostly buttery smooth, occasionally a hiccup here and there but nothing serious and I love the overall form factor of the the phone and how it fits in hand, it's great! Love the themes to apply and the ability to change resolution and the always on display. Been using the spen quite a bit, it's very nice! So much refinement, I've enjoyed this phone, just want to exchange it for a new batch that's definitely clear of battery issues (at least that Samsung says is good to go), I realize that most likely nothing would happened to this one but I'd rather get another new Note 7, set that one up and feel like I've done all I could to not have a phone blow up on me, the wife or my lil kiddos. Hope you get a brand new shiny Note 7, free of defects bro. Now we just need to figure out how Verizon will do this....hopefully they somehow notify us when new stock comes in and we can just go into a Verizon store and do an exchange for a brand new Note 7 and transfer what we need and be on our way.

More than likely no they will not update you when the new ones are in. But what I have been hearing through out the day from our updates and our Samsung rep that we may be getting the new shipment in within 2 weeks from the recall date, Samsung is working hard overtime to get these fixed especially since the iPhone is so close to launch.

As of now it's optional to trade your device for another phone in that tier.
Will Verizon exchange phones also bought from best buy etc? Reason is. Bestbuy seems to be out of the recall process. I assume we would have to go directly to Samsung?

They may have screwed the pooch with this one. Verizon is extending the return period of the phone including waiving restocking fees and allowing returning of any purchased accessories until the end of the month. iPhone 7 shipments will have commenced before then. So there will be folks jumping ship on the 23rd or thereabouts when orders for iPhone7s commence which is within this return period. Of course depending on supply and demand it may be a month or more before they have them in hand but that's another thing on its own.
I have a 6S+ that was purchased from Apple using their 2 year plan and would eligible to trade in but TBH not sure if I'm going to bother "upgrading" to the 7.
For my Note 7 that doesn't appear to have any issues so far I'll probably just wait this out. No hurry.

Went into a Verizon corporate store in NYC for an unrelated issue today (troubles with my Bionic) and while I was there I had a talk with one of the managers. I was able to convince him to sell me the official Verizon Galaxy Nexus Shell/Holster combo case early. He also showed me two other cases (one silicone and one high gloss) and said that there will also be screen protectors, batteries, and a dock although they don't have them in stock yet.
But more importantly I asked him for info about the release date after I purchased the case. He told me that literally a few minutes before I came in he received and was reading a notice from Verizon HQ that the official date has been set as of this morning and confirmed for December 8th. He stated that it will be available for purchase online and in all stores as of that date. He also went on to say that Verizon has planned a marketing campaign for the Galaxy Nexus starting this Friday (expect to see plenty of ads soon). I was also able to get confirmation from him that the phone will come with the My Verizon Mobile app and one other Verizon essential app preinstalled. Unfortunately, this is all he was allowed to disclose to me without "getting himself in trouble" but I would say that's pretty nice of him to confirm this. I hope you guys find this info useful. Here is a pic of the case below:

First, stop being a douchebag to everybody. Nobody laughs at it and it makes you look like an uneducated brute.
Secondly, thank you OP for filling in the forum. Whether it's true or not will still have to be seen, as many other Verizon employees still say they have no clue, but it's still nice of you to tell everyone what you know...especially with the hostility on this forum, as of late.
Guess this works out for me...my credit card cycle recycles on the 7th and I had to buy $1000 of tires and $1000 of Christmas gifts this month. Guess this is God's way of telling me to save some money!
I hope this is really the date, I heard this also, as many of you. If course it would be nice to have it sooner but, if not; it's nice to have an actual date.

My car's brand new but I need winter performance tires (they come with summer-only performance) which came out to around $250 a piece. 235x40 are kind of expensive.
Gonna need to buy summer wheels in the spring too =P another $1500 down the drain, but worth it so I don't have to change over the tires every other season and re-balance. Much easier just to change the wheels myself.

Ya, these weren't even amazing. They're Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3. I was going to go with the new Dunlop Winter Sport 3Ds, but I got a $70 rebate on these Michelins lol so couldn't pass them up. Only one more purchase and I'll be set on wheels/tires for the next few years. The car's only 6 months old, so still have a few "new-car" purchases that must be made.
Strange thing, though, with the way 4G LTE works. I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE that sits on my desk at work. I get 2-3 bars of 4G service with it (connection speeds varies between 16/2Mbps up to around 30/12Mbps) sitting there on my desk. Another guy on my team bought the Rezound today and, standing right in front of my desk, it had no 4G and only 2 bars of 3G. I'm hoping that the Nexus has a better signal reach than the Rezound.
Then again, he admitted he already installed Juice Defender and there's a possibility it turned off 4G. He didn't look closely, but he didn't remember setting anything specifically for it. Maybe he had it off! Who knows. Just hoping I retain a 4G signal there at my desk. The company wifi is a bit tricky in certain places in the building, so being able to fall back on faster 4G is pretty nice (I don't even have my Galaxy Tab hooked up to the wifi anymore).

Hello,
So I have 3 Samsung Galaxy S 3's and two of them are for Verizon and one for T-mobile... I have had nothing but issues with one of my Verizon models and my T-mobile is no better... So I sent it in to Samsung for repair and I noted that I had several different problems, such as screen flickering, home button sticking, power button falling off and random reboots. They received my phone yesterday and now today they claim that it is fixed and it says this in my notes " SOLUTION: Replaced Component - Replaced Cosmetic" and now they are sending it back, which is a great turnaround time but no one can tell me what they actually replaced or repaired??? I have made 4 calls and not one person can tell me what was done to the phone. I used to work for Nextel (before Sprint scooped em up) and I was a lead technician for them and whenever we repaired a phone or replaced a phone we always wrote down EXACTLY what was done and what parts were used to complete the task. I am going through some of the same issues with one of my Verizon units as well and keep getting garbage ass refurbs that solve one problem but add another... I am not trying to nitpick but I paid FULL price for ALL of my phones so that I could keep unlimited and I am going crazy cause I don't want another defective phone from Samsung... What do you guys think was done or what do they usually do (refurbish them)?? I am just hating Samsung right now so I had to vent and get some comments and opinions.... This is my first experience with sending ANY product in for warranty work as I usually have a local authorized facility close to me or Verizon has just kept on sending me there good ol "Certified Like-new refurbs" that they claim to go through a 100 point inspection check.... LMAO! Ya okay.... Then why is it that I have already received 2 bad refurbs from them if they are so "Certified"... It's too bad cause I just want a working S3 in my hands. :crying::fingers-crossed:
I honestly have no problems with my phone. I've heard some people complain about issues. But three phones with two replacements all having issues. I have to wonder if you are even for real.
That been said. It beats the hell out of me what Samsung would do. How you get it resolved. Personally I love my sgs3. And most IPhone owners who try it are wowed by it. Especially now with iOS6.

So no, I am not making these issues up. In fact there are several threads about refurbs from Verizon and some people are on their 4th or 5th refurb.... I do have one of my 3 that works FLAWLESSLY but I have had bad luck on the other two.... I love the S3 and would NEVER go back to IOS but I am just tired of getting defective replacements.... Dude that sucks you got defective devices and it sucks the technicians can't tell you what was changed in my experience with Sony they have noted out sometimes what was wrong but not all the time, HP let's you know what was changed which is great (they have a website) i haven't deal with Samsung before but if their like HTC they will probably sent you reburshed unit, that been said I have never had problems with those units work like new to me, and never had any physical damage, good luck to you and hopefully just like Samsung is getting better at releasing phones they can fix their tech department as well

Ya I guess I am just a lil paranoid cause of my bad luck lately but I will just cross my fingers that I have a good working phone.... The power buttons are terrible on these phones it seems... They are firm once you get them then they slowly start to get REALLY loose and one of mine got to the point where it actually popped out... It is about the size of a grain of rice and I have yet to find it... LOL For the most part I don't regret any of my purchases I just think someone has to get the lemons and it might as well be me right....
They give a more detailed note on what they replaced in the receipt you get when the phone is returned to you, granted it's not much detail, but yeah.
And if it returns and it's still messed up, go to Verizon and T-Mobile and demand to see the manager, tell them the situation and asked them what they could do.

Sounds like a good idea! Some of the problems were intermittent so I find it hard for them to just see it for 30 minutes and ship it back out unless they just replaced everything except the main board...? Yeah, actually got my Galaxy S II and Nexus S serviced not too long ago.
The NS took about 3 weeks to get back to me, from the time I sent it in the to the time I got it back.
Everything was in great working condition, and I believe they replaced a lot of the phone.
The original problem was my lock button didn't work anymore.
I only realized they replaced more than just the lock button because my screen looked brand new as well as the outer part, there were no scratches or dents, when I had a few on it before.
My Galaxy S II took about 5-7 days to get back to me from the time I sent it in to the time I got it back.
I did request for the repair to be expedited as it was a gift for my girlfriend and needed it before a certain day.
They did a great job at helping me and getting my request through.

But I'll give you this, they are horrible at knowing what's going on with the phone, their status updates are pretty lame.

Did you contact the carrier first? Whenever I have issues inside warranty t mobile sends me a new phone then I send them my old one. No waiting for repairs.

Sounds like a good idea! Some of the problems were intermittent so I find it hard for them to just see it for 30 minutes and ship it back out unless they just replaced everything except the main board...? I will just wait and see... Glad someone could chime in who has had experience with Samsung repairs cause that's what I was looking for was to see if Samsung did a good job for others... Thanks for the feedback!

Don't try going to a T-Mobile store to get a phone replaced if it is passed 30 days in California or 14 in other states. I've been a T-Mo rep for many years and I could think of maybe 2 situations in 5 years where I have seen someone get a new phone replaced after 30 days in store (This is from experience working 4 districts in SoCal/LA area and 1 in Norcal).
I wish you luck with the Samsung repairs though. Hopefully they actually did more than little cosmetic repairs to your phone and actually fixed it.
maybe they saw the bezel hitting the button causing the home button to not function properly. That sucks that you had to send them directly to samsung, i love my tmo plan with insurance! Any problems, and the next day i have a new phone. And before people start crying that they are refurbished, i really could care less, as long as it works like it should im happy.
Hi,
I took delivery of a new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition yesterday, but noticed right away that the haptic feedback wasn't working. I did a lot of reading yesterday and tried all the settings to do with it, including the setting that's buried in the energy saving menus, but I am unable to get it working. I'm hoping that it is a software problem and not a hardware one.
I have done a factory reset this morning, but the problem still persists.
The other issue that I have, is that I bought a Sandisk 64GB card from Amazon (Amazon themselves) and it just doesn't even detect it. The card works fine in my GS4, and on my PC, it shows full size with exFAT.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me please? Hopefully it won't have to be returned.
Thanks
@Monkey Chops.
If you go Settings > Device > Sound > And change vibration in intensity.
Also in the same section make sure Haptic feedback is checked.
If you have already done both of these then yeah seems like a hardware issue.

Thanks for the reply. :good:
Already tried that, thanks. Going to ring Samsung and see what they say, the sd card issue is the bigger problem for me. I guess like lots of other people, I have a poorly made tablet.
Spoke to Samsung, they were very helpful and agreed that it is a faulty unit, so the place I bought it from are collecting it tomorrow. With a bit of luck, the replacement is trouble free.

I do believe they're brand new - When I went to buy one from my local shop here in the UK, she first handed me a broken sealed device - when I mentioned the seal was broken she was shocked since she picked it up from the new stock and she guaranteed me it was brand new but since she had sealed devices in the back I though it made sense picking one of them up instead.
Yeah you have warranty so everything's good .

I suspect some of them are, but the first one I had most certainly wasn't, it was covered in fingerprints on the back and the protective film on the back was all creased and not sticking properly and there was dust under the protective film on the screen. Can't see Samsung sending them out like that, but that said, weirder things have happened!
Looks like this second one is faulty too. Battery issues. Used it last night for browsing, maybe 3 hours and it stared off at around 80% battery and ended up at 17%, this was with half brightness and wifi, multi window and sync on. No videos, no games, just a bit of facebook and chrome.
I put it on charge when I went to sleep about 1am and just took it off charge now and in 11.5 hours, it has only got to 86%.
Looking around at all the other issues that people are having, I think it's probably wise to send this back for a refund and get something else, I really have no confidence in Samsung after this. :/

Ah man that's no good.
Send it back for sure and then walk into your local shop and pick one up that is deffo sealed, trust me this is an awesome machine but I honestly don't blame you for wanting to quit on Samsung esp having two devices with issues. Anyways hope whatever you do buy is problem and stress free

Really that is the suppliers fault, not Samsung. I'd complain that this is happening as you should have a sealed unit. If it arrives with a broken seal I'd complain straight away. Couldn't hurt to contact Samsung rep in your country and advise....

Actually aye what was I thinking, the two he got with broken seals were probably returned due to them exact faults.
Although when I walked into my local store I was handed a broken sealed device too and it seems like it's happened more than it should.

Just to add something on charging. This baby does take a long time to charge. Something like 5 hours or more.. Nothing like my Note 3..
On the sealed units, I ALWAYS demand a sealed unit..
Thanks for the replies. After doing a bit more experimenting, I'm not 100% sure what to think now. Turning off wifi while charging seems to speed it up considerably. Earlier, it was at 93%, I restarted it and it came back at 99%. Another time, it was showing as fully charged and by the time I got upstairs (30 seconds), it had dropped to 96%!
I also followed a guide on here for optimising. With it all done as per the guide, and with the screen at around 40%, I'm getting roughly 8-10% per hour for at least the first 3 hours, which seems in line with other people. The only remaining problem seems to be the odd percentages that are reported. Factory reset doesn't help and it doesn't do it every time, nor can I force it to do it.
Not sure what to make of it at the moment, so will give Samsung a call tomorrow.
Cheers.
Looks like it is playing up again. 1.5 hours and 32% drained with screen at 40%. That's roughly half of what I was getting last night. Very poor indeed.

This doesn't look right, the percentage vs the amount on the battery icon. Anyone else have this? Just spoke to the place I got this from and they tried to tell me that their QA team (not sure what this is) open them all before sending out to check for cracked screens, so they need a reference number from Samsung. Samsung also said it was nothing to do with them and that they couldn't issue an RMA as the item was under 30 days and I am entitled to a full refund or a replacement of my choice. After a lot of annoying phone calls, they have "allowed" me to return it for a refund. After this, I certainly will not be buying another Samsung tablet!

I've owned Samsung's since the S2 and generally they are 99.9 finished and working out the box build quality is getting better every release this is a first phone for razer in a competitive market , they promised fast updates where are they these were to address known software problems on the phone at release, razer support won't answer anything on phones fixes, and this product falls way short of the usual razer standard , at launch min himself said razer would be handling all the updates there was no mention of the carrier's providing them especially since 3 are probably one of the worst carriers for updates usually being the last to release any.

I just wanted to say one thing here. In the USA I didn't have a carrier option. I had to buy it from Razer. Did Razer sell you a lemon or did Three? Having the "non carrier" phone got me an extra update and my hardware and software both work buttery smooth. I suspect a lot of the fun you guys are having has something to do with Three.

razer were the ones at the launch event who announced all updates we coming from them, if they had stated carrier's would be handling them then I wouldn't have gotten it from 3, they are my carrier but sim only as they are about the only mobile provider that does unlimited data I get excellent coverage from them 4g 120mb down and 40 mb up but I wouldn't normally take a handset from them but like I said only way to get a special edition 3 are the cause but razer were less than transparent with the facts. now they refuse to answer any problems with the phone either about build quality or software 8ssues the posts about it on the official forums have a habit of vanishing.

I could see this happening tbh as soon as it came out Three were responsible for the updates.
Don't get me wrong I kinda have remorse getting rid of the razer phone, (I had to RMA and just didn't trust the other on to be flawless so sold it ) I really wanted to help Razer with the phone so much and the Devs are fantastic especially Alex but even min told me on twitter updates wouldn't be held back (and they are now it's 2 behind). Guess there had to be a reason it was cheaper to buy from three.

If updates are important then never get it from a carrier. This is well known. They interfere too much.
If we in three don't receive these 2 missing updates in one shot then I'm going to rebuy the phone again directly from razer and sell this three phone.
It certainly is evident why there was so much cheaper. Wish I'd been able to wait the 2 week shipping time from razer themselves - to me in the UK rather then going for the next day delivery from three. Absolute [email protected]@rd$!

It is well known yeah but when the CEO says that we won't have to wait for Three youd think that answer would be true but it made me question does he actually know what's going on in his own software team?
I mean even factory images haven't been released yet so people can attempt to make their unit a razer one.
Also for what it's worth for people my RMA unit was another Three branded one so Razer do in fact have Three units for replacement.
Bit upset on the speed of these updates i still blame three and wish i could re image my phone to Razers Stock Image rather than Three's image.
What would be different if the build would be changed whats so special about Three's version as i can only assume Three related features like wifi calling and that
UPDATE: I received the trade in box yesterday.
The trade-in box is small and will only fit the phone. I've left the case on the Note 9 for a little extra protection along with the original plastic screen and back protector.
My obsessive behavior to keep every original item wasn't needed this go around since I didn't sell on Swappa. The Samsung Note 9 box and accessories will not be shipped.
I'm will try out the Samsung Dex which I barely used to see it it will offer any value with the P6P.
Thank you all for the feedback.

Original post:
I am doing the Google trade-in for Pixel 6 Pro and have not done a device trade-in before. I am hoping someone can provide some insight.
Q: How honest is the inspection process? I selected "to take the amount they offer" if not in the condition expected. I don't want to get screwed by this...
Q: Do I need to send my excellent condition Note 9 in the original packaging (which I still have)? Or, does this not even matter to the button pushers and screen checkers?
Details:
- $235 is the trade-in amount estimated for Samsung Note 9 512GB. (This is &145 more than Best Buy, and $175 more than Amazon.)
-- I can't unlock, root and TWRP due to v9 firmware. Also, no more One UI updates even though I always used Nova Launcher anyway.
-- I also considered Swappa but decided against it this time - I hate Paypal.
This Note 9 is in excellent condition. No scratches, dings, et al. Always in case and screen protector. It is re-packed in its original box with all original pieces, some not even used.

I wouldn't worry. If you're honest, you'll get what they estimated.

Definitely honest. I take great care of my many Android phones over the years For potential re-sell or give-away to friends but this Note 9 is pretty flawless.
Never had issues with their trade-in, as long as you're honest it goes pretty smooth. They will send you a mobile shipping box with a label.

Visit Swappa, see what your device in similar condition is going for.
If it's close to what Google is offering, go for the Google trade-in.
My Pixel 5 trade-in through Google was very close to what it's getting on Swappa, so I'm just sending it to Google.
Done! Swappa aligns - in same price range. (Now if OnTrac can just figure out how to deliver the new P6P. LOL)

I have never received anything from TForce that I am aware of.
Unfortunately, OnTrac routinely left packages anywhere they felt like it at the university where I work. e.g. out on public steps at the university, in the bushes next to random buildings, at Central Receiving locked door during Christmas break (big sign = WE ARE CLOSED. DO NOT LEAVE PACKAGES). Public Safety fortunately found 25-30 packages left out / in the rain delivered over the Christmas/NY break).
We contacted our Amazon Business rep and Logistics team and told them to NEVER let OnTrac deliver any of the university's packages again and they complied.
So here's to hoping this wont happen to those with OnTrac delivery!
I'm pretty sure that this is the first time that I wasn't been sent a trade-in return box/label in advance, or asking with the new phone.
Had anyone received their trade-in kit yet?
is it possible to request a trade in after purchasing the P6 from the Google Store?

No, not possible. The same is true with anyplace you get a phone from - you have to request a trade-in at the same time.

If I understood things correctly, the trade-in items (third party) are shipped separately from the Google stuff, and will arrive separately as well.
I believe you'll have 30 days from the time you get your new device to have the trade-in in the mail

Received email my trade in kit was shipped separate from phone yesterday...
Oh, reminding me to Factory Reset! LOL
I forgot about my trade-in kit. Just checked and it hasn't shipped but my phone just shipped today. Hopefully get it this week. "You should receive a prepaid Trade In kit within seven business days." If that's 7 days from "Trade In initiated", they're late. Not really surprising.
@johninsf - I have traded in all my previous Pixels, every time I got a new one. Never had an issue. Waiting for my Pixel 6 Pro and trade in kit to send back my Pixel 5... and I don't expect any issues either. As may have said above, as long as you're honest and ensure the device is reset, screen is good, you should be fine. Once they get the device, the inspection and refund is pretty fast to be honest - at least in previous years.
