Settings -> Security = Crash for me :T
My phone keeps saying "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" whenever I click on Security in Settings.
I'm not sure when exactly this started, but I've only just noticed it today.
The only thing different I've noticed was that when I opened S-Health, I got another window for an update and just did it anyways without really thinking at all. For all I know it could have been an unrelated update for my phone I suppose.
Is there anyway to find out what's wrong?
Can I fix this without factory resetting?
Try clearing the data for settings?

I can't seem to delete this thread, but after a Googling a bit more, I found out that the problem was the s-view case with Verizon models d: also, you can change the settings in safe mode if you don't feel like taking off the case s:
I have the same problem it appears that there is a nother third-party app that's causing the pro I don't know which app it is.
But I can access security if I do a reboot into safe mode. When you need to access security try that.

This app has allowed me to freeze so much bloat it is unbelievable. You can even disable KNOX which may lead to Root???
Should we start a list of disabled apps and services with no issues on AT&T Note 5?
I froze a lot off apps and did the silent Uninstall for a few too. Just simple apps I knew wouldn't mess with anything.

Does this app work any differently from the built in disabling ability?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
Yes! You can disable anything you want
Did anyone disable KNOX related services? If so, did you notice any side effects?
I froze everything Knox related and so much more! This is pretty cool to get rid of bloat always running

Does it actually add any benefit by freezing these apps? Does it make the device faster?

I disabled a bunch of system apps and the note 5 started restarting randomly every 2-3 hours. Anyone else have this happen? I disabled all of the apps automatically disabled by Package Disabler Pro.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
Nope, I think you have a defective device. Try unistalling the app to see if you have reboots
Sorry noob question, why are we disabling knox? Also will it affect Samsung pay?
I already disabled all bloatware including knox and some at&t bloatware, hancom office, s voice and some others using same app .
Samsung pay doesn't work until September 28th anyway I think so I assume we won't figure that out until then. I would like to give it a try. I thought it was just like Google Wallet and used NFC, but it's different.

In the Play store marketing video, the disable feature stops 80 apps. The re-enable feature starts 89 apps. What.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
How does this play with the built in "disable" function? I have disabled all the att stuff via the default touchwiz / app manager. Package disabler shows them as bloatware with the option to disable, but they are supposed to be disabled already. Do I need to go through app manager and enable all in order to disable them (and more) with "Package Disabler"?

I didn't, just disabled them through the app. Not sure exactly what the difference is.

The OS allows you to disable the bloat
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
I know is allows you to disable some of the bloat, which I have done. However package disabler reports those same apps as "ready to disable". I would have expected it to recognize them as disabled and report that status.
There is another discussion in the Note5 forum

Can someone export a list for other att users to use?
Hi Everyone,
Need help. I've been trying so hard to access my Note 5's Service mode to try and test if my Fingerprint scanner is working (as I keep on getting the dreaded error whenever I try to access Fingerprints) but to no avail. I keep getting Connection problem or invalid MMI code error message no matter what code I try. Any suggestions? I'm using this phone in the Philippines by the way with a non AT&T sim card. My phone is not rooted.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes this is the one.
This is the correct keypad code and has worked since the release firmware and still does on marshmallow. You know you are supposed to enter this in the phone app dialer right? The fingerprint test is in Sensors on that codes page.

Hi ToxicDev,
Thanks for your response. Unfortunately tried that as well but also did not work. Do you think this is because I am not in the U.S. and I am not using an AT&T sim?
Thank you in advance for the help!

I just noticed something. I Checked Application Maneger in Settings 》scrolled ro the right to the All tab and I have Phone Applications. All are version 1.0.0. 1 is 100kb and the 2 others are 8kb in size. All 3 are activated. I cleared cache on the 2 8kb sized Phone app and forced stop them both. Tried *#873636# on the dialer = same error, tried *#0*# = same error.
Can I ask help from you guys how many phone apps do you have in the All tab in Application Manager? If 3, which is the one activated?
Many thanks in advance guys!

I had to disable Package Disabler entirely (deactivate it from device admin rights) to get service mode (*#0*#) to work.

Hi Jack Man,
Where can I find Package Disabler? My Device Admin contains only:
Lookout > set to on or Activated
MobileIron > for my work email set to on or Activated
Android Device Manager > set to On or activated
Outlook Delivery Policy > set to off or Deactivated
Can it be found in any of those?
Thanks in advance!

It's just an app that can be purchased in the Google play Store that is used to disable things on the phone that can't be disabled through the phone's normal application manager. If you haven't installed it, it's not on your phone

You simply asked what Package Disabler is. I never said you needed it to get you service mode working. If *#0*# wasn't working before, installing that app isn't going to help.
I'm not sure I understand what your motive is. At the beginning of this thread you said you're trying to check if your fingerprint scanner is working. After looking at the options in my service mode menu, I don't even see anything regarding the scanner.
After re-examining the service menu (*#0*#), there is a fingerprint sensor test under the general sensor test area.
I don't know why you're not able to access it, though.
Anyone can confirm or deny that their Android System WebViewer is disabled or not in 7.0; mine is and I did not disable it. No option to re-enable it and TiBU cannot defrost it.
Anyone else have it disabled ?
Thanks
It's part of Chrome now in 7.0.

Hello.
Is there a way disable auto system update so it wouldn't even show in notification? I don't want update to Android 10 until Good Lock with all it's modules is fully compatible.
Using factory unlocked SM-N975U1 (on T-Mobile network)
I disabled updates since day one with package disabler pro, I do this because even if you disable automatic updates in settings, for some reason, sometimes, the system ignores this anf download the files, besides package disabler pro is very useful for disabling unwanted apps, CCSWE is also excellent

Check in ur Developer Options. There use to be option to disable it there for notifications for T-Mobile.
On Att here so mine little different.
If OP is talking about software updates that toggle does not stop them. Unsure if talking about software updates or basic update notifications

Yes, you must disable the 3 packages that manage the software updates, if not, sooner or later the update will download, specially if there is some "urgent issue" as per samsung criteria
