Hello!
This thing happened to me when I had the Huawei U8800 too.
After I install Notification Toggle as a service (on Accessibility Menu, so I can use some features), every time I open a browser (stock one, Chrome, Dolphin, etc.), TTS starts reading everything. I tried with SVOX TTS and stock one.
It happened to me with ICS, now with JB it's happening too.
It's very weird, i've searched all the forum and all the web but no luck.
Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance and best regards
Go into accessibility settings and disable talkback..actually, just disable that entire section..it's for sight/hearing impared
Android is upgrading...
I have that disabled. However, to some functions of notification toggle work, I have to activate notification toggle on acessibility. But all other accessibility functions are disabled...

would you please tell me why you want to use that , i use the app but am unaware of what advantages this would give

I didn't like that one personally. Try power controls. It doesn't talk to you.or maybe disable the talk function under apps.

You can enable/disable some functions instead of going to its settings

The only way I've been able to fix this is by disabling Google text-to-speech engine in settings, apps, all apps. Deleting talkback by itself alas does nothing to stop the talking...

Yes, but as I use TTS system to navigate with Google Maps, I have to have it on... In fact I use SVOX Classic, but it's the same. So it's some problem with Notification Toggle...

actually, that's not correct. the accessibility service is only needed on Android 4.0 (not on 4.1 or any other version) to keep the notification above all other notifications

if you're not on ICS, there is no reason for enabling that service

that's when the app is installed in /system/app (see here: http://vps201.fra05-inx03.webhod.de/thomas/j4velin_development/dl-root.php?app=nt) and has nothing to do with the accessibility service
also i posted a workaround here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28842919&postcount=776 which seems to work for some devices. as this is a bug in the android system, i can not fix anything in my app

I think lightflow causes the same issue, gotta be something to do with the way they access the accessibility service menu

A temporary fix is to clear the cache of the Google TTS Engine, which is perhaps less inconvenient than disabling it if you use TTS features sometimes (Navigation comes to mind?).
Disabling it does seem to be 100% successful for me, but I don't want to do that if I can avoid doing so (I am using a Note II, not S3).
I started debloating my H81010o and somewhere i deleted something for the system update option in the 'about phone's area. Does anyone know what it is attached to? Also, how to I stop the automatic system software updates?

If you disabled app with debloat tool, you can enabled it again but if you delete that app you have to put back those app file to app/priv app folders.
If you wanted to stop an updates why'd you need the updates features back?
BTW check those apps
LGFota.apk
LGUpdateCenter.apk

Because you're already delete it, that's why there are no update center in about phone sec.
Does that mean I disabled updates all together

I updated my Note 5, and now whenever I select a word, scroll over to the "Dictionary" option and click it, it does NOTHING. If I go into all apps and open up the dictionary app, it'll have the word I tried to define in the history, but it doesn't pop up anymore. Is anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?

You have the AT&T variant and you got the 6.0 update?
Yes and No. I am running the AT&T variant but from what I read it was only a security update. I'm still running 5.1.1, although I looked for an update this morning.

What I would do is go to the application manager and go over to dictionary and clear the cache
Add me to the list. My dictionary isn't working now either.

I've done that, as well as wiped the device cache partition, disabled and re-enabled the app, soft restarted the device and just about any other simple things like that.
My dictionary doesn't work either actually.. I suppose it's a bug, thanks at&t.
What dictionary?

That defeats the purpose of the menu when you have a word highlighted. My app doesn't even open either.

Hi guys ! ---FIXED!---
---Disable Draw over other apps---
Fairly noob here and Quite happy with CM13 on my Laser/selfie !
I have got an issue now where when I try to do something that requires an app to ask for permission IE: Chrome needs access to my storage, Privacy guard comes up and I can't tap Allow, only the Deny works.
imgur.com/a/yCD0Q
it does not matter which applications requests what, it just does not work.
I have tried with an OTG and a mouse and it does not work.
I tried to get the phone to do it's update but a similar pop up comes up and I can't click allow
I have looked online and I can't seem to find any information on this specific issue.
Please help XDA people, you're my only hope !

I do and After conversing with another user of CM, he pointed out that I should disable the draw over other apps. Once that was done it fixed my issue !

Hello.
Is there a way disable auto system update so it wouldn't even show in notification? I don't want update to Android 10 until Good Lock with all it's modules is fully compatible.
Using factory unlocked SM-N975U1 (on T-Mobile network)
I disabled updates since day one with package disabler pro, I do this because even if you disable automatic updates in settings, for some reason, sometimes, the system ignores this anf download the files, besides package disabler pro is very useful for disabling unwanted apps, CCSWE is also excellent

Check in ur Developer Options. There use to be option to disable it there for notifications for T-Mobile.
On Att here so mine little different.
If OP is talking about software updates that toggle does not stop them. Unsure if talking about software updates or basic update notifications
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Yes, you must disable the 3 packages that manage the software updates, if not, sooner or later the update will download, specially if there is some "urgent issue" as per samsung criteria

Correct you must disable these 3, haven't got any notifications about system update and update tab in settings is completely gone!
