Additional Symbols option grayed out - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hy all,
Just received Exynos variant, updated to BHP6, and now the Additional Symbols option is grayed out in keyboard settings. Cannot enable additional symbols at all, but the option is there. Did anyone encountered that?
I also did a factory reset, and after setting up the account, option is still grayed out.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

It's not working for me if I use Romainian as the main language. Add English to your languages but the symbols will appear only when English is set as your main language.

[Q] How to disable spell correction in SMS

Sorry if this was asked before.
How can I disable spell correction when writing SMS? I've unchecked everything in Text input settings, but there is always red dotted underlining of words. This happened after OTA update.
Thanks!
If you have an alternative keyboard you'll have to change the settings of that one. And maybe you could take a look at your language settings too, see if those are set right.
Hope it helps...
Hi,
I have the same problem.
Alternative keyboard is one solution.
I choose the HR button on my stock keyboard and now I have red line only under misspeled words or when I use specific uncommon words.

Same problem
If someone found where lies a problem?
Pozdrav dečkima iz HR!, ako ste saznali kak to rjesiti, javite plis.
If you don't mind, you can go around the problem.
In stock SMS application there are red dots. In 3rd party application, there aren't.
I am using GoSMS Pro
I don't know any other solution.
pozdrav
spell
go to "keyboard" under settings and untick the first (or se second) option ...
worked for me
You have to change it in your keyboard settings. Language and Keyboard -> Touch Input -> 4th option Text Input or similar (mine is Dutch ) -> 2nd option Spelling correction or similar (Dutch as well)
Hope it helps...

I'm guessing that you actually mean "auto-correct" rather than T9 (T9 is a specific method of typing text using the number keys of a standard phone keypad). You can manage its state at Settings --> Language & Input. Tap on the settings button next to Android Keyboard. At the top you will have "Input Languages". Click on that and you can select what language to use. Scroll to the bottom and you can change the Auto correction options.
Hope this helps.

[Q] Language / Word prediction

Hi all,
I am trying to build my first (Senseless) ROM. And for nof I got pretty far. I have one "problem" yet to solve.
It has something to do with the "Word Prediction / Input Method" and Language screens.
My native language is Dutch. As posted in the screenshots below, you can see it
My question is as follow.
The first screenshot is the "Sndroid Settings Screen" and it is perfectly in Dutch language.
The second screenshot is the "Language & Keyboard" screen in the settings screen. Here it becomes strange, The second option is "Touch input" which you should think als had to be in dutch language. Only the description field is dutch...
The third screenshot is the "Tochs Input" submenu and is in fully english language. Before I "overupload" screenshots all those settings are in dutch input method.
Now it gets more strange!
The fourth screenshot is "typing a message" and the word prediction is in english. I can't get the system put on the dutch word prediction list.
Everything else is in dutch... (or any language you want).
To make the question short...
What files, or which settings have influence on the language system? I loked closely to A LOT of settings in the rom, but I cant find it.
Maybe a fresh look or suggestion may help me in the good direction. I am seeking too much, therefore I may overlook some settings.
Thanks in advance for any answer

How to add languages to S-pen direct input?

I cannot get my Note to recognize Finnish writing in direct input popup window no matter what. Works fine on my Note 3 though.
There is the language indicator showing that it is set on English but the menu that opens by holding on it has no options for other languages even though I've enabled them from settings.
The real problem is that it simply wont accept characters åäö. On my Note 3 the Menu only has Finnish but even with that selected I can write English without issues (like now).
Where's the problem?
Try swiping left or right on the space bar to change the handwriting language. I have Greek enabled in addition to English so that I can write the necessary Greek characters for my scientific notes.

Is there no way to enable both languages at the same time?
Same for my SwiftKey Keyboard.

Under settings/control/languages&input, click the cog next to samsung keyboard. The next page should give the option to add input languages. Then when using handwriting input window, holding down the second item at the top lets you choose your newly loaded languages.
Max languages is 4 including english so if you're a true polyglot you're in for a lot of extra tapping :/
