Hello,
I have a friend who's G4 is having issues, she's getting a replacement phone soon but I'm trying to help her backup the photos that are on her phone. I'm currently in the middle east and she's in Boston.
The phone will sometimes start, get to the android screen then power off. I was able to get her to enter into recovery, but the phone said "not enough power." Now me, having a rooted phone (HTC One M8) this would be a simple fix but to her having a stock phone she's totally lost. Can anyone give me some tips to help her out?

I had a similar problem. My cord was "charging" and I quote charging because it was HARDLY charging. The cord had went bad and that was actually the stock LG cord which I had very LIGHTLY used for 2 months. Once I changed my cord the phone charged up again and I was able to turn it on. So have her try a new charger and cord and make sure it is over 1mah if possible so she doesn't get LG's infamous slow charging notification.

Hello! I wasn't able to find anything on this so I'm wondering if my phone is defective...
My phone is stuck in a loop...
1.I plug the phone in it will charge for 5 minutes then try to start up
2.The charging will stop during the boot up (on it own)
3.I imagine there's not enough battery power so the phone will shut off
And this will go on in a continuous loop. Also I can't stop it from booting up so that makes it worse...
I just bought the phone and let the battery drain down the for the first time and it started looping this way. Very odd. I have 2 other HTCs (8925 and 8525) and never had this problem...
So I'm wondering is it
1. The Software (config)
2. The Battery
3. The phone
I've searched the internet and it seems like I'm the only one having this problem...
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Hmmmmmm sounds like a bad phone, I'd return it to your carrier if possible

i had a simular situation w/ my mda...i was on vacation, and when the battery drained, it wouldnt take a charge...the problem was that i was using my girlfriends motorola charger which wasnt strong enough charge a completly drained mda battery...
just ensure you are using the charger that came w/ the phone, as many figure (as did i) that one mini-usb charger is as good as another...
hope that helps...
Having the same issue, my Pro2 charges for couple of minutes than reboots and also the battery won't take a full charge so can Hard Reset .
Anyone else resolved this issue
Try booting your phone without the battery, so it doesn't need to charge
Thanks alot it turned out to be the USB cable. It was defective I was using the charger for my 8925 and it was working no problem but when I switch back to the TP2 it didn't work!
First off Happy New Years to everyone. Last night after returning home from our church's NYE service I decided to reflash my phone. The last thing I remember was using Viper's superwipe to wipe my phone (which i normally use and by NO means am I saying his software caused this). I woke up this morning and saw that the phone was off the charger and dead. I didnt think it was a problem so I put the phone on my charger and stared getting ready for church. I am now noticing that the orange charge light is blinking orange (it has for the past hour) and when I attempt to turn the phone on, nothing happens (usually after an hour and the phone being turned off my phone is charged or at least will turn on). I believe I remember seeing somewhere before about not flashing your phone with a low battery as you could brick your phone that way....did I do that when the phone died as I thinking I dont have a ROM on my phone since I flashed and thats the reason it wont turn on...is there a way I can get my phone on again or do I have to take this to Sprint (which im little worried about since it is rooted). Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks and again Happy New Years
Mods please close this as I was able to resolve the issue. Thanks

So what did you do?
From the sound of his issue, he probably let the phone charge. At times the battery can get quite low on an Evo and can take some time to charge especially if you use an aftermarket power cord. (One lit supplied By HTC.)

Hello All,
I have a problem that occurred a few days ago with my LG G3 (apx. 6 months old). My phone has been running fine and out of nowhere, my phone turned off and I couldn't turn it back on. Initially, I thought that the battery may have died because I was using a golf app that utilized gps, but my phone was at a 100% 20 min prior to it turning off. When I got to my car, I plugged it into the charger, but I didn't see the charging light and it still wouldn't turn on. When I got home, I plugged it into the OEM charger for about two hours without any success (the phone felt warm similar to when I charge my phone). I've long pressed the power button, tried the power and lower volume button to hard reboot without any success. I bought this through the t-mobile site like my previous phones through their New2U certified refurbished program which comes with a 90 day warranty (expired).
Has anyone experienced a similar issue and if so, what did you do to correct the issue because T-Mobile referred me to LG so that they can direct me to an authorized retailer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Note: the phone is in great condition.
Thanks
Have you tried removing the battery, holding down the power button until any residual current is discharged, reinserting the battery, then plugging back in the OEM wall charger?
bump im having the same issue with my vs985 was at full charge turned off and didnt turn back on

Did you try to go into download mode? Remove battery plug it back in. hold Volume up and plug usb cable. Are you in download mode?
Any word? Does your pc detect it? Kinda in the same limbo... ?

turning off on its own might be due to overheating
Lg G3 d851 turn off
Hi guys i have same problem with my Lg G3 D851. Is turned off after upgrade root but isn't back on. display complete is black, no Recovery mode and no Download Mode. Can you help me?
if you guys are getting nothing when the phone is plugged in either then i suspect either something defective or mobo has lost connection to lcd screen. what roms do you guys use do they make sounds on boot? are you hearing sounds after attempting to turning it on and wait a few minutes?
Having a bit of a nightmare day! I have a 855 G3 and have had it around 18 months. Its rooted, and has been running ok.
Today, I was using the phone, then had to do something. When I went back to it, it was off and wont come back on.
I have tried lots of things - removing battery and plugging in, leaving battery out for a while, trying to plug in without battery, holding down various buttons in various sequences, pluging into the PC - and nothing at all.
One time I took the battery off and plugged it in, I did get a display that indicated there was no battery installed. I then put the battery one and a charging screen came up for a few moments, then it went dead again.
Anything else I can try, or has it got to go off for repair?
I saw this http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359 but I don't want to do that if I can still get a repair under warranty.
Its bought from Amazon Germany and I have to send it back to them, they are happy to repair it. Is it going to be a problem that its been rooted?
One last question. I need to buy a cheap, but reasonable phone to keep me going in the meantime. Any suggestions? Saw a Moto G 2nd gen.

I think I have tried everything now. Ordered a new battery to try, which should arrive in the next few hours but I am not holding my breath. So, looks like its got to go back to Germany and hopefully they will repair or replace it!

Too bad , and yes believe me new battery might not solve it , but then keep your fingers crossed.
all the best
New battery just arrived. So, I put it in and it started to boot! The LG logo came up, I got excited and then....bang turned off! Very strange.
Sort of the same happened to me today. Let's hope is battery.
My G3 shut down suddenly although battery was at apologize 75%, blue screen and splash logo and flickering and then black screen.
After some time I managed to boot up and then 2-3 minutes later...off again. Repeating procedure, booting up and then immediately booting twrp. I thought something is wrong with my setup: fulmics 3.7 and xceed kernel latest nightly; managed to restore a backup (stock rooted MM) and everything was fine.
Phone boot up normally, apps beginning to update, made a few calls...and then...boom...shut down with the same flickering to blue screen. I hope is battery issue related. My phone is from August of 2014 and a bit abused since December (MM update).

Same here, no recovery, no download mode, nothing... I've tried shorting the pins and using boardiag (tests are all PASS except for SDRAM which I've been told it needs a power source to boot the device a.k.a battery ) so i highly suspect it's a battery thing
Sent mine back today. Got a Moto G to keep me going in the meantime.
Mine is now on the way back to me after a quick turnaround. Not sure what they have done to repair as can't log on to the repair tracking website for some reason, but will find out next week when it arrives.
Still waiting, but I now have the repair report. The phone they are sending back has a different serial number, so I presume they are sending a new/refurb phone?
I've sent my phone(with the same symptoms) last week in service under warranty although it was rooted and from service center I have a tracking information that it was repaired (probably mobo replaced). So, I will know for sure in a couple of days
Try connecting it to PC without battery, you notatras that it decteta pc , if so you are lucky , you step tutorial, the files are only for d855

So yesterday I was trying to make a phone call and the phone went dead. I tried turning it back on but to no avail. When connected to a charger, it just shows the battery for a while and then it disappears and reboots to showing it again only to reboot itself again. Needless to say, I am stuck with a bricked phone. I managed to get it up and running by flashing the stock rom but after update to Android 7.0 the problem came back after like 10 hours. Now I can't even get into bootloader without the phone being connected to a charger, which is a problem because I can't flash anything through charger obviously. Connecting the phone through USB does not work, the phone stays dead like it is out of juice. With that being said I think it might be a faulty bootloader. The power button is fine, so I think we can count this option out. Any other ideas? I am considering taking the phone to the shop where I bought it as it is still under warranty but because it is not Google they might refuse to replace it with a new one or repair it. Is there anything I can do?
EDIT: I sent it to LG.

I had the same issue just a few weeks ago, did you ever get it back? How long did it take? Was covered under warranty?
Thanks - Ed
