Sure, flash ElementalX 0.8 Kernel, that isn't supporting Dash Charge
Something without flashing other kernel?
Like configuring kernel?
What about using a different charger/cable ?
My other good charger burnt last night Idon't want to charge phone with cheap charger. Just to charge with lower amp
Buy a decent USB C cable and adaptor. Simple.

Yeah just use a low amp charger maybe like a 1 amp, but to answer ur question, no, there is no custom kernel yet that will allow to modify fast charge yet

I think I have a charger that only charges at 250 to 300 mAh, if u want it, just pay shipping with will be a few bucks, I think its one u plug it, not a charge block and cable

Hi all,
I just found a 2 year old motorolla car charger with micro usb connection in my house. Anyone know if it would work with my S3?
Same thing with the equivalent AU charger of 850MAH ?
I would like your advice before connecting my phone.
thanks.
I have been using all of my old chargers. They all use the same power pins so it's fine. It's just if they have lower amperage than the original it will charge slower.
yeah should just charge slower. i believe stock S3 Charger is 1amp 5volts. i have been using my old ones from my GS1 which is .7amps volts. u can also scower the intertubes for essentially any charger with the 1amp 5volts output and you will be getting what the GS3 was designed for. might be worth the couple bucks to keep things "stock".
but yes it charges fine
Hmm...

I'm pretty sure it'll be good...been using some older chargers myself (have 2 cars, a minivan and my personal and my wife's is the 3rd...) so I have a mixture of them.
If you really wanna see, there's an app called Battery Widget or something like that, they show you the mAh or voltage that's charged at X time to and you can test each charger and see what's best. Some chargers are weaker (generally the USB ones)...but find that app (I've heard but never used/installed myself yet)...actually there should be a few of them free on the market.

But just remember this at least, use the STOCK (original USB cable) whenever connecting to the computer...I don't know if it's Samsung or whoever/whatever, but it won't work 100% unless it's the stock one. Trust me on this.
As long as it can charge go with it.

+1 on this. Takes longer when I'm using older charger or USB on a PC but it works.
i have no scientific basis to back this up...
but I never use non OEM charger that came with the phone. I find either other chargers don't supply the same juice, or even if they do, they still end up wrecking battery life.
my non scientific theory is that not only does it charge slower, it spends more time "fighting" the resistance to charge and somehow fails to charge the battery fully. i could be completely wrong but i stay away from using chargers that weren't meant for the phone/battery. it's worked well for me so far, whereas my friend who uses any random charger that "fits" has always had ****ty battery life with all her phones from nokia to blackberry to iphone
I'm using my HTC TYTN II charger with mini to micro as my second charger and it works.
Hey, I have a 1200 mA charger at home, can I use it with this phone? Because the normal one only has 1000 mA

Are you sure it has no harm for the battery? Does high ampered chargers charge the battery faster?
Im sure. Even the new charger is 1.5 or 2.0 amps the phone Will take only what it needs. It have a security circuit. More amperes Will make your phone charge At the same speed even when you use it while it Charges. Try it.

Other thing 1000mah Will charge your phone in like 1 ~1.30 hours. With the 2000mah it Will charge in the same time But it will let you charge it while using it in the same time.

I'm not bad at doing Google searches. Yet I have not been able to track one single trace of a quick 2.0 charger (of absolutely any brand) available in Europe. What the heck is wrong? Why are they all in the States? Can anyone help with a source to order/buy one in Europe? Thanks! A desperate European.

Hello,
There are a plenty of quick charge 2.0 capable chargers, such as the Motorola Turbo Charger. I do not own this charger myself but it's a Quickcharge 2.0 complient charger with schuko prongs, so it'll work in most European countries and it is shipped from the UK:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorola-2-Pin-Plug-Turbo-Charger/dp/B00PGQXJ0G
I got this one here and it works quite nice.
1h of charging and my phone is almost full. from around 5%.

The last time i read quickcharge charges up 0-> 60% in 30 min , so 5-> 95 in 1 h is quite plausible dunno where you get your numbers from.
https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/quick-charge
Jeah i could have bought something cheap but i dont want to mess with cheap power supplies, i dont mind paying a bit.
Current input is definetly more than standard wall charger and it fits my purpose.
There may be something better but this one worked as expected. Its officially certified and supported.
And you can buy it in europe which brings me back to the topic.
And its on sale and half the price of the charger posted before.
Only seen results briefly but you are correct on charge times. Mind you my BlackBerry playbook travel charger with higher voltage is around 1hr Mark via magnetic dk48 dock.
I'll maybe post exact times as phone is still pretty new with a month charge cycles via dock and plug on its own

Jeah magnetic charging also works with Quickcharge but the output is a bit less than with conventional micro usb cable.
I bought the aukey from amazon.fr. £12 delivered to the uk. Very impressive. Well built and quick
Easy and expensive (29.99 euro, shipping included):

When I charge it with the micro usb port it can charge the 60% of the battery ? in 1h according to the battery app. I noticed that it can do 40% in 30min. So it works. I haven't tried the magnetic port but I heard that is the same…

Hi guys. I just bought an HTC 10 and was a little concerned with the phone heating up during charging. I looked it up and apparently thats normal? My question though is using quick charge going to destroy the life of my battery. If I leave it plugged in overnight will it lessen battery life? I am fine with charging at "regular speed". Can I put the USB C cable into my HTC one M9 charger safely charge the phone. Can I do that with my old car charger also (I believe its a T-mobile brand charger that I bought from them). Also, can you guys recommend me a car charger (and USB C cable) that would safely charge my phone. I was still using a galaxy s3 until recently and switched to a m9 for 2 weeks before switching carriers and getting a HTC10- I really know very little about these new quick charge batteries and Cables. Thank you
First about charger, as the HTC10 don't have options to turn off fast charge (samsung have such options) so if you want to change it slower your only options is use some normal 2A charger (without QC 2.0/3.0 support). Rule of thumb all battery don't like heat, no matter when charge or discharge, keep it cool is best thing to avoid life shorten. The HTC 10 charger support QC 3.0 which allow charge faster, but may also hurt the bettery, I don't know the spec of the battery but my finding is when using fast charge it actually charging around 1C( charging rate), normally the more over 1C, the more damage. There is another problem of HTC 10 is that battery are between LCD and motherboard, when the battery heat up and expand it may damage the motherboard, this happen to previous HTC m8(or m9, forget which one).
Note that a 2A charger will about 30 mins slower then the HTC10 charger for a full charge, the HTC10 charger is much faster when near empty, but will about the same as a 2A charger when over 70%.
For cable you better stick with the HTC 10 cable or make sure any usbc cable you get have a 50 ohm resistor, as there are many cable are not compliant to usb-c standard. Google for benson leung cable review or take a look of his review in Amazon will help.
---------- Post added at 10:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:08 PM ----------
And yes, you can use any charger, but there exist some charger will not work for usb-c cable, just rare, I learn that from benson reviews. In case you wonder I am using a Samsung S4 2A charger. Cable is 1m orzly
---------- Post added at 10:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:10 PM ----------
About plugin overnight, I always do that because when fully charge it will just stop charging, so it won't hurt much, but for li battery the best range of battery level is about 30%-70%, keep in this range the battery will have the longest life, that's why when you buy a phone it usually have about 40% battery. there are some mod/software to limit the HTC10 stay in this range.
The fact is you are likely get a new phone after 2 years, and normally the battery still have about 70% original capacity, make it worse case you may still have more then 60%, so why bother about heat, charging rate, etc
Batteries wear out with use, namely how much current is going through it (either in or out and definitely both simultaneously). You can be gentler with it but that doesn't mean that Quick Charge is going to destroy it.
QC3.0 isn't binary: it continuously negotiates charging power (current and voltage) based on how much the battery is charged and temperature.
If you want to maximize longevity:
- Charge slowly with your computer's legacy USB port, which is 500mA max (I predominately use this; I'm not using an extra device--a charger--and the computer is always on anyway and I can synch)
- Don't charge it and use it simultaneously (I only do so when using Maps/navigation)
- Don't let the battery run low (below 20%); charging current is sloped: more battery drain, the more current is applied to charge it rapidly; set Extreme Power Saver to kick in at 25-30%
Use the app Ampere to see how much current is being used to charge your battery.
Side note: the 50kΩ pull-up resistor is only for USB-PD-to-legacy-device compliance, neither of which have anything to do with Qualcomm's Quick Charge, according to Qualcomm. Now what htc did, I do not know; I have a couple of cables that don't work and one that does.
Seek expert advise
I am using & prefer wireless charger to charge HTC 10 although its slower over wall plug charging, At random observe sound profile get altered from normal to silent mode. Incoming call dont buzz the ringtone, in whatsapp, viber as well as paid GSM call. Does any one know what and where is the bug?
Once device restarted, sound is again get back to normal.

They all diminish over time no matter how carefully you treat it. Don't sweat it. Limit your quick charge usage and don't drain it more often than you have to.
Hi,
recently i bought Redmi Note 9 Pro ( indian ver ).
after while its come to disconnected when i charge in rapidly mod ( 33watt )
0% -40% there is no problem, when charging from 40%-55% it gets disconnected. after that when plugged it again it charges normally
i have changed my cable with normal (18 watt ) it doesn't disconnect
but when i change cable with same as orginal ( for charge with 33watt ) and its continue to disconnect
any problem reported related to this ? any solution ?
I don't think it is because of faulty port, nor a faulty cable. Lastly, this usually happens only when the battery is from 40%-55℅. Could it be a software problem? Any reply is appreciated!
OS - MIUI 11.0.4
I have done the basic trouble shooting like hard reset and recalibrated the battery also.

It is a hardware related issue, there is nothing much to do about it.
Same problem here! (Redmi Note 9 Pro Global version)
i also facing this issue, any solution for this?
Exactly the same issue.
Workaround would be to charge phone in switched off state.
It worked for me and charger the didnt keep connecting and disconnecting.
Do a power cycle
I had the same issue. I did complete power cycle.
Drained my battery to 0% then charged it upto 100% using turbo charge the whole time didn't saw the issue happening anymore.
Will update here if I see the issue any further.
If it happens then service center is the only option
