[HELP][Q] Bootloops BUT doesn't bootloop when I charge/connect to pc. - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Phone: LG G3 D855 FW Update: V30C-EUR-XX
First things first... I know that there are other threads but
I haven't seen that somebody else is experiencing NO bootlooops WHILE charging.
A friend had a problem with this phone and asked for help so I said I'd try.
I turned it on and it randomly shutdowns now and then and the bootloops when not connected with the usb cable.
I read a lot of info about this problem and thought that it has been fixed in the time of two years but doesn't seem so. And I already have the latest update
What I already had done:
1) Uninstalled any apps and deleted all the files to make it empty as possible.
2) Flashed with stock FW using LG Flash Tools 2014 (x2 times)
What I want to ask/know if maybe:
1) There's a custom ROM which fixes this issue?!?
2) Maybe my battery's faulty and how can I test it?!?
3) Could Underclocking help and how to?!?
4) Should I give a try downgrading to KitKat/Lollipop?!?
4) Some other fixes I haven't seen?!?
Looking forward for your help. This forum is the best :good:

Okay, thanks. That is what I really thought about the most but I just didn't wanted to buy a new battery asap. Gonna try that, but just in case let me know if there's maybe another solution.
P.S. The battery isn't puffed up. It's flat.

[Q] [Please Help] Weird battery issues - Xperia Arc

Hello everyone,
I've decided to get help trying to fix my Xperia Arc which has weird battery issues.
I tried so many things trying to fix it that I don't now what to try/where to look for an answer. So, I decided to ask you guys for help.
The problem started this summer, I updated my phone with the official ICS update, and after that, battery life went from average to awful.
I have, at the moment, a battery consumption of around 20% per hour, and it doesn't change whether I'm using the phone or not.
I have tried the following things :
- New battery : same problem
- New kernel rom => Tried different kernels (arcknight/stock ...) and different custom roms => same problem
- Re-locking the bootloader and flashing stock 2.3 => same issue
- Installed software to check what was using the battery : nothing stood out.
So now I don't know what to do, I'm at loss. When I was running custom roms I always remembered to delete the battery stats once the battery was full, didnt help.
Also, I thing the problem is the battery sensor ?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Vincent.

ICS requires you to restart your phone after every time you charge it. Bug in the firmware.
If still dropping too fast - Then it has to be some of your settings, that you use, either a sync or GPS or something.
have you wipe battery stat in cwm?

1.
Revert to stock. Relock your bootloader. Repair phone with pc companion.
2.
Check your battery. Take it out and study it. Is it deformed, swollen or anything?
3. (OPTIONAL)
Clean battery pins on phone and battery with aftershave
4.
Get a new battery
Cheers guys for the answers. I tried everything you guys recommended and yup same problem
I'm sending it in for repairs and hopefully they'll fix it.

Constant Reboots!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi guys,
I am using a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and am having a lot of trouble with the device constantly crashing and rebooting.
when this first happened these are the steps i took.
i completely wiped the device (factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache partition, format system)
i then flashed Baseband 77 using flashtool
i then flashed fxp149 using flashtool
i then flashed Baseband 77 libs using CWM
i then flashed AOKP JB M1-R1 ROM using CWM
i then flashed gapps using CWM
i the reloaded all apps from the market and not applied any backups and yet it still rebooted all the time.
Since then i have tried using
Fusion 3.8
Fusion 3.9
Fusion 4.0
FXP 148
FXP 150
Stock Kernel inside ROM .zip file.
I have also tried putting it back to Baseband 72 but it made no difference.
None of these make any difference to my issue and yet before i had the issue, I had used all of these kernels except FXP 150 and they all worked fine with no issues at all.
I then decided to go all the way back to stock firmware as it is out of the box.
so I used flashtool and flashed LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_(1254-2716).ftf
I reloaded my applications and monitored the device only to see that by the next day, the problem had returned.
I am now at the end of my tether and do not know what else i can possibly do to figure out the issue.
the device has not been dropped or damaged in any way so there is no reason for a hardware fault.
i desperately NEED this device to be working as i use it on a daily basis for my business and cannot live with out it.
IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE THAT COULD PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP I WOULD BE FOREVER IN YOUR DEBT!!!!!!!
i also have a logcat that i was running in the background when one of the reboots happened
not sure if that can tell anyone anything but i have it if it does
First flash stock kernel (587), after flash the rom compatible with kernel. Remember full wipe before
have you tried not to restore your apps? Maybe one of them causes the problem. I'd try to stick with the clean (stock) rom an check if it still reboots. If it does I guess your device is ready for ebay
Could be a loose battery, try a bit of paper between the battery and the cover and see if that helps.

yes i am starting to think that may be my next move
will i have an issue with getting it repaired since i have unlocked my bootloader, flashed different kernels and roms and rooted the device?
if so, is there any way i can get it back to official "out of the box" state?
Flash a stock ftf and get the bootloader relocked. Having it rooted is fine

i have come across something quite interesting.
i had someone look at the logcat i had running live when i had a reboot and it showed that the last thing to function before the reboot was wifi scanning. they suggested i try turning off wifi and running the live logcat again to see if any reboots occured.
it has now been just over 48 hours and i have not had a reboot at all. i know is because my terminal session is still running the live logcat.
is there anyone that could suggest why this may be happening?
i mean, i know its wifi that is causing the problem, but would that be a hardware issue that could be fixed under warranty? or something else?
any suggestions are appreciated as always

i don't think i can help, i just wanna say that i had (have) the same problem. I said had/have because probably I still have the issue, but i don't notice it that often. Before, I had my phone set to ask for pin code, but now I have removed it to avoid being unreachable if a restart occurs. I have raised the issue long time ago, but really didn't find any answer. Other ppl had same problem with their phone (look at the thread i started about this issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765537)
I also have HTC desire in daily use with CM7.2, that also reboots quite often. So I don't think the phones are broken. More likely it's kenel or rom or app issue, or some combination of those.
If you can tell me how to monitor things, I can do it on both phones, maybe we will figure out what's going on.

if you open a terminal session and type:
su
cd sdcard
logcat >> logcat.txt
it will create a .txt file and put the live logcat info into it.
you need to leave the terminal running in the background to make sure it continues to update
then when you see a reboot just get the logcat.txt file from the sd card and open it in wordpad or something. (notepad doesnt display properly)
have a look at the last thing that happened before the reboot and see what it tells you
mine had info about wifi scanning and showed that it had seen ssids
next step was to turn wifi off to see if the problem stayed or resolved.
good luck!! id love to hear how it goes

Nothing's fixing the random reboots.. Don't know what to do anymore

Hey guys. Couple months ago I bought LG G3 second-hand and it had the issue of randomly rebooting. I tried rooting it and installing custom ROM but it didn't help. I then bought a new battery and it didn't help it either. I even un-rooted it and went back to the stock ROM but it didn't help it either. I then re-rooted it and installed the custom ROM again but it still didn't help.... What can I even do here? Would it point out to the problem if I somehow get the logs when it crashes? if so, how do I do it?
Any help is greatly appreciated..

I have to point out that reboots are much less frequent after reinstalling rom this time. I had like 10 restarts a day, and now it's 2 at max. They'll gradually get more frequent though, probably
Download OS Monitor or another app that will allow you to export logs. When it randomly shuts down, note the time, and check the logs when you get it back up.
Even if it's a hardware problem, you'll likely be able to see what is failing. You might be able to replace it without too much hassle, or even taking it to a repair shop.

My congrats for the great autonomy ?
The info you've sent are not enough to analyze your reboot issues.
1) Have you rooted your device?
2) If yes, are you running SuperSU, Kingroot, Phh's Superuser? What version?
3) What the apps that are getting root permissions?
4) Are you using Xposed? What version (e.g. v86.6 systemless with Magisk v8, the v86 stock)?
5) Have you tweaked or replaced the stock kernel?

Much strange.
I'm having an heavily modded OP3 with OOS v3.2.7, never encountered instability.
You should try factory reset asap, there's nothing you may do, since device is completely stock and works for most users.
I can't give you more help, sorry ?

Not, because OOS is working well for most users, so there is no "fix reboot issues" in any todo list.
Go with factory reset, when you find the needed time.
If problems still persist, contact OnePlus and explain the issue.
I think that some upgrade maybe the cause of your troubles, due to massive change of stuff that the end-users can never see.
You know that Samsung updates often make device slower or keep crashing some system app?
Why excluding that OnePlus have done (involuntary) the same?
Updates are not always guarantee of stability, especially with firmware different than Google stock.

Are you using a case? I had a cheap eBay clear case on my phone and it wasn't moulded properly over the power button, there was no indent on the inside for the button to sit in so it used to turn off in my pocket and back on later and produced battery graphs similar to yours.
Hope this is a help.

Did your problem solved? I am having same problem.
I have the same problem. I am currently on 3.2.8 and also had this problem on beta 9. Few days ago it happened in front of me, the phone was on the desk nothing running in the background. That was kind of the soft reboot, didn't triggered my locked sim, (my sim card is locked needs to enter PIN when phone startup) and after that I checked Settings=>About Phone=>Status, the uptime didn't affected too, seemed nothing was happened. I think this also happened to some other people but they just didn't realize it.

Try using non 4G/LTE SIMS.
I am facing the same problem.
My device is at service center.
Day one:No reboots.I asked them to put some SIM & then check.
I did that after reading your post. No luck. Are they replacing it? How many days since it is in service center?
Facing problem from last 2 weeks.
I submitted once last week. They clean flashed older rom.Worked fine for one day, then reboots started again.
Then this technician had remote session and flashed the rom OnePlus3_16_A.17_161118(OOS 3.2.8):Reboot frequency went too high.
Had to go to Service center for diagnose. 2 days now.No proper response from them.
I had the same issue from several days now, wiped cache, did factory reset, wiped data, nothing worked, I read somewhere that let battery drain down to 0 and then full charge removes electricity or static from the phone, and that may cause random reboots, gonna try that

Seriously? That sounds like one of those hilarious Microsoft Answers sort of posts! Running the battery down will not get rid of "electricity or static from the phone", apart from anything else the battery protection circuit would not allow the battery to drop to zero volts as it's not good for li-on batteries.
The Oneplus 3 seems to like to soft restart, mine sometimes decides to do it 3-4 times a night (rarely during the day) and then is fine for awhile. Tell tale sign is the battery graph showing large gaps in the usage pattern. I would suggest that there is an inherent firmware issue judging by the number of people reporting the same issue on a number of different forums.

R.I.P. G3?

Hey guys,
got a big issue: My LG G3 D855 International Version is not working properly. I was using Fulmics Rom (6.5 I believe).
At some point phone just turned off. I was rebooting and then there were some weird noses from the speaker after rebooting into the system, like cracking.
This happened twice. Afterwards it did not boot at all (Not sure if it bootlooped or went just straight black).
I then went into TWRP recovery and wanted to wipe and flash Fulmics.
Everytime I want to do this i get through Aroma Installer and then at the Installation part at around 10% it goes black again.. (first time I was afraid I bricked it but it happens exactly like this all time)-
Same thing happens when I want to restore an old Backup file. It goes to around 200 MB and then dies.
Already changed the battery to a new one, so that's not the deal. I'm afraid this is an hardware issue? Hope you can help!
Edit: Reproducable when I'm doing tasks so that CPU heats up (as shown in TWRP).
Does the phone work properly on stock? If it does not, it sounds like a hardware problem.
Well, problem is I can't flash anything so impossible to tell. As I said, everytime I do something more that just moving through TWRP phone dies..

That sounds like a really bad idea if the phone keeps turning off when processing ramps up. If it quits during the flash, he'd be screwed.
Oven trick to prolong the life by a little bit, maybe?
Yeah, I'm afraid KDZ TOT firmware flashing would screw me up even more.
If there are no other ideas I'll go with some rougher methods like trying to cool down the CPU with heatpaste-trick or in the end oven.
Ordered a new phone anyway and got nothing to lose. I'll let you guys know!

Plug your phone to the charger when you install Fulmics.
If you see any difference's then it's your battery and you'll need to replace it.
It is working now!
What did I do: Baked the Mainboard for 10 minutes at 200° C. Additionally i applied thermal paste on the CPU.
Running like a charm for two weeks now.
