Hi guys, anyone encountered any reception issues? My device is stuck on 4g, when drops goes GSM and data will go away.. But if i flash without CSC i've no more this problem, but still poor reception.
Any ideas to improve this?

Sounds like a MM issue as you're on a full ODIN if you have flashed without CSC. I stay away from MM, Lollipop is better.

Right ... I am having problems with the WI-FI signal on my ARC S, Running stock 4.0.4 / 4.1.0.B.587, Everything STOCK. I don't have issues connecting to the router, The signal is just weak I have tried connecting and changing the routers tried to change the wireless channels from 1-13 problem still exists, I mean I'm in the same room as the router and the signal bars are not full they fluctuate from one bar to 3 only four when its right near the router. On an iPhone the signal is full even when I'm at a distance from the router and around the house. What could be the problem ? and is it will all ARC S's. I have even had a replacement problem is with the actual phone and not my router in anyway. Any idea what could be the problem and maybe how I could resolve it, help will be appreciated ...

just hope sony actually fix the issue, seen on sony forums earlier someone posted that the wifi module inside is cheap and nasty worse than clone phones hence the weak signal, wow pay so much for the phone and this is the outcome,
I kinda regret buying mine also, now I wanna sell it...

It's not up to phone. It's up to ICS update, and there are dozens of topics exploring similar subject all over the web.
On stock GB 4.0.2.a.0.69, WiFi signal is a lot stronger. Test it and you'll see.
Edit: For example, when I'm on ICS, if I go out in my garden, I can't even catch WiFi signal from my home router. Only once in a while, and it's very weak. While on GB I can catch it with no problems and it varies between one and two bars.
Well and even if the problem is identified by dozens of topics there is not yet any solutions...
It seems to be a big issue...
So I am going to wait...
Any idea for how long ?
Obviously there is no solution yet, if we talk about stock ICS. We can only wait for next update from Sony (if that ever happens), and hope this issue will be solved.
But like I said, on stock GB, there are no issues with signal strength.
my phone usually gets 0 ~ 3 bars of 4G
but Tmo shows that my home has "EXCELLENT 4G signal"
so im thinking its either my phone issue or just my house
is there anyway to improve signal?

Try the T999UVLI6 baseband... seems to be the best for a lot of people.
They say I should have a decent signal at my house, but due to terrain and tree coverage I have no signal.
However, I knew that when I switched back to T - Mobile so I had planned on using the wifi calling feature at home which solves the problem.

Just erase the cache. You don't have to do anything else. I don't even think I erased my cache to be honest. Radio images are firmware-related, not software-related so it shouldn't really make a difference.

Before I go ahead and brick my device, would love to hear from some devs
- I am using Tmobile Note 3 on ATT network. Poor signal in LTE is killing me.
- As a last resort I am planning to flash ATT modem..
Am I being a moron.. If things go wrong, is there a getting back possible ?
Thanks
EDIT : Hurray.... I took the risk :good:
So I went ahead and flashed it using mobile odin and looks like I am getting slightly better signal... Used to get 2 bars at home, now its like 3 bars...
Speed increase is may be ??????noticeable...
This is an early report.. Will update as i will try to test at a few more places..

Most likely after flashing AT&T modem you will end up with a soft brick
at worst or you will not be able to make and receive calls at best.
There is a good reason why none of the devs include any modem images in
their custom roms.
I would suggest not to flash any modems/radios.
If you soft brick your phone or you cannot make/receive calls the only way
to get the phone up and running is to odin flash the official stock rom which
you can find at http://SamMobile.com/
Just make sure before downloading the firmware that it's the correct model
number and baseband of the original firmware that the phone came with.
Good luck!

You would get an extra bar as I think the N900A shows 5 bars full as opposed to N900T shows four bars full. I got both and go by my DB. Similar.

Curious to learn more about this. Can you use a signal widget or other app to get some comparison readings? Might be hard to do since I imagine you don't want to go back to the T-Mobile modem. I'd just like to see how much of a gain there really is (if any). Maybe I'll try it myself.

Yup, Dont want to go back after this flash... But I am now consistently seeing an improved signal in bars.. I did not record the deccibels before.. ( should have done that). But I am not seeing any huge jumps in speeds..
Tomorrow at work , i will see if there is any improvement.. (Most of the the time at work i get 1 or no signal at all.. sucks....)

Well I tried flashing it with the phone hooked up to the computer in download mode with Odin and it looked like it was installing but then at the very end it would fail. Phone didn't boot loop or anything it booted right up after the fail. I put the modem file in the correct CSC bin in Odin also. Is there something else I must add or check a box thats not checked in order for it to pass the install?

No but that's what it shows in the ATT extracted files thread so I figured that's where it went? Wonder if I should try it in the AP bin? I could care less if I soft brick the phone, its a hard brick I'm worried about.

I think you need to flash back to stock use the phone. Test it. Do some speed test and screenshots. Then root. Watch the videos make it easy for your self. Then test again. Your speed test should be close.
Backup your Lte configs in system/app/ to your external sdcard , and delete them. (This fixed a lot lte issues on my D855 G3 that i had) reboot and check your connection, if it doesnt improve put them back in /system/app. (Worth a try. Good luck) also check your apn settings and LTE Only settings in secret menu.
Check your data usage. Tmobile said I was having a tower maintenanced nearby. It was going on for three weeks til I called and said I wanted a bill credit. The next day all speeds were back up, even getting 50mps down at times.
So I've tried pie (RR remix)
Omni ROM 8.1
Lineage 15.1
I'm just wondering is signal drop always going to happen ? Any fixes ?
Its driving me nuts when I talk on the phone
Is running stock the only way to avoid signal drop?
Do I have to shoot down to RR remix 7.1?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance
Do I need to flash stock firmware?
Someone say something please!!
Do I need to flash stock firmware?
Is there anything else I could do?
Don't all speak up at the same time!!!
Does it affect your call quality or is it just dropped bars? Sounds like it's device side or the coverage in your area.
Call would drop . Lose all signal. It's not service. Atts strong here.
Also randomly drop while surfing the web.but much less frequent than the call drop.
And as of right now I'm on Omni 7.1 and haven't had a dropped signal yet.
Any insight would still be appreciated because, I'd rather be on rr pie
When I say drop I mean damn near airplane mode. Like the modem would cut out , or the Sim not being read or something. Like zero bars. And 20-30 seconds before It got reestablished

Can't really relate to your issue or be of any help . None of my testers or users (myself included) have reported this on my 8.1 or 9.0 builds besides you.
Try flashing n108 firmware again and see if you notice any improvement on ROMs
