Woke up this morning to find that my phone fell of my nightstand and cracked sometime in the night.
It's S-OFF. Can I still use Uh Oh Protection on it?

im not sure, but i have (asurion) replaced rooted phones in the past. don't mention it, plausible deniability. i doubt it will get noticed.
Did you order your device from vzw or HTC?

Does Sunshine still work on the most recent software versions of unlocked 10s?

You could try contacting HTC support on their website for a quick chat about uh-oh coverage . An HTC rep's word is much more credible than a random person online.

I have a one x two year contract with Vodafone UK. Correct me if I am wrong but if my phone goes faulty within the contract period is it Vodafones responsibility to repair/replace it. For this reason is it not likely that the boot loader will never be checked for locked/unlocked status, hence it is safe to htcdev unlock

And if they send it back to HTC to be repaired? I read on the Vodafone forums that they did sometimes. Also they will be quite aware of HTCdev unlock. Its a right get out for them to use along with their favourite "water damage" excuse. Ive unlocked mine but i wont send it back if i have a problem, ill use my insurance.

phone support staff are not the same as tech/repair staff. vodafone may even send it to a subcontractor/htc for repair or further tests who would be capable of checking such things

Its with my bank now and ive not used them yet. It used to be with Vodafone and they used to just replace with a new handset if it was beyond repair.
I´ve been reading, how to root, and it says you will lose, alter CID, so that´s an easy way to check if you unlocked the bootloader..
My question is, locking it again and run the RUU will get the original CID back?
And if so htc will not know it´s was unlocked in the first place?
thanks
Only problem is that it will say relocked rather than locked. There was someone who managed to get it back to locked apparently

I just decided to go for it and ditch the warranty. If I bricked the phone, there are loads of ways to fix it on here.
My only worry is I'd bring it to Vodafone and they would notice the CoreDroid custom icons.

In the 1st 6 months the seller must prove you caused the fault before denying a remedy. After 6 months its vice-versa
Unless they can demonstrate unlocking caused any issues, you're covered by the Sales of Goods Act

If it is under warranty, go to your nearest VZW store. They should hook you up with a replacement.

If they say no, then replacing it yourself is really easy. It took me 10 mins including reassembly.
I mean it didn't solve the problem, my phone still won't charge but it was an easy install.

i have a htc one brand new in box never turned on..
i kept the phone after being sent it by accident (under unsolicited goods act )
if i turn it on will it have imei number blocked ?
if it does what can i do about it ?
yes - since HTC blocked it on their end. there was no vzw update, it was HTC blocking it.
You can wait until the devs get a workaround. thats what I'm doing
I think he means like will he be able to activate it on a network.
You should be good since it's not stolen. Was it sent to YOU or was it delivered to the wrong address? You say it was sent to you by accident... The act you mentioned does not cover items sent to you by mistake.

as long as you didn't steal it, there is no reason for for IMEI to be reported stolen.

The APK name Sunshine and work perfectly. I use in my HTC M8 from T-Mobile. (Important) Use in a Stock (original rom only)
Search in google i can't post url : Sunshine S-OFF, by theroot ninja
fyi to other readers, it's a paid ($25) app. you can try to find an apk yourself, but if firewater is still valid, then just run that. works on most variants.
What is "soff"?

Here is the link its a lil crazy to charge 25 bucks for this though i didnt do it i can live with s-on for now

Why do I want "S" to be off?
s-on and s-off are lock states, you want s-off to change your bootloader etc.

While i agree with you, they seem to be the only ones who found how to soff so they can charge what they want... Hopefully someone else figures out how to do it and charges less as it is too steep for me (i would only use it to remove the red text which is not worth 25 buck for me)

I guess those who are so smart that can hack the phone are not so smart to post basic information.
Its ok, i find my self just as dumb sometimes.
I have fallen into the same trap with NOTE 4.
It was DAYS after i discovered that to root NOTE 4 phone has to be developers edition.

NO, he meant "CAN".
Maybe Java card method isn't what you desire....but it does in fact work to completely free the Verizon m9.
Good luck finding any Verizon device which doesn't require some amount of "hassle" to unshackle.

I think you have a bad unit or get horrible reception(I lean more towards bad unit, it happens). I have 3 users with the VZW M9 in Long Island NY and all 3 of them get great battery life. In fact 2 of them are definitely power users and they only rave about it.
